Hello dear readers,

I'm sure you've noticed my lack of attendance lately, I apologize sincerely and want to thank you for putting up with me! I've been so busy trying to keep up with my family and new life as a mommy these last 3 months, and truthfully haven't been as wedding obsessed as I usually am. I suppose my priorities are changing... I'm finding myself wrapped up with updating my personal blog a lot more, so friends and family can see how fast little Emmy is growing. I've also come to the realization that this little blog of mine has become more of a chore than an enjoyment anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing all your friendly comments every once in awhile, but I just don't have the time to devote to scouring the internet for wonderful wedding ideas anymore.

So for now, I'm going to be taking a blogging break. I'm not saying I'll never come back to posting, but for now life has taken me in a new direction. And with that, I'll leave you with a few of my favorite wedding blogs to inspire you while I'm away... Enjoy!

I know I've been posting a lot about Etsy items lately, but I can't help it, there's just so many unique and lovely items! I saw this listing last week and have been drooling over them ever since.

I've been getting into jewelry more and more as I try to polish off my wardrobe for fall, and these beautiful accessories would be a stunning addition. I think just about everyone has heard of shoe clips by now. They come in a ton of shapes and sizes, but these are by far my favorite for dressing up a plain shoe for the big day. Whether you're a bridesmaid or the bride, these would be adorable to adorn your feet. Not to mention they're a steal if you purchase them from Lemon Ring on Etsy.

Letterpress Invitations

Up until now, I hadn't done much with letterpress, aside from admire it. Then back in the spring my sister-in-law asked me to help create her wedding invitations, in none other than letterpress, and I happily agreed! Here's the outcome, a beautiful translation of her whimsical and traditional style. The wedding was a few weeks ago and everything tied in to these invitations so beautifully, she couldn't have done a better job coordinating it all. Kudos Mary!

I worked with a small printing press here in Michigan, and learned a lot about the process. I can't wait to continue offering this method of printing, it's just so incredibly stunning!

I have a weakness for cake stands. I love finding vintage styles at yard sales and antique shops, as well as shiny new steals at places like Marshall's and TJMaxx. But no matter how many stands I acquire, I don't seem to get a chance to use them as much as I'd like. I don't get around to baking as much as I'd like, so instead of showcasing yummy treats on them, here are a few ideas to get those cake stands out of the cupboard and into your everyday decor. You could even use some of these inspirations for your wedding centerpieces!

Well, I suppose it was bound to happen. Monday afternoon, as I wrote and scheduled the Avon Giveaway post, I had no idea I was about to go into labor. Emily was born at 7:46 am, weighing in at 6 pounds 4 ounces, 19 inches long. We're overjoyed with this new blessing, and are drinking in every moment we have with her. I'm officially on maternity leave for 8 weeks, and will plan on posting as I have the chance.

I ran across these ingenious edible icing decals while perusing one of my favorite Etsy shops (Olliegraphic). hello frosting creates edible frosting decals that are an easy and economical way to pump up those plain cupcakes, cookies or whatever!

Well folks, we're officially down to less than a week before baby arrives. In case you don't remember, our due date is Sunday, June 20th, Father's Day to be exact. We've had a lot of predictions as to when our little lady will make her arrival, and although they're all very hopeful, I'm sure she'll arrive late.

I will be sure to update as often as I can, but consider this a warning for the light posting schedule that is sure to come. I have a few posts ready and waiting, but I can't imagine I'll have much time these first few weeks with a newborn.

DIY Alphabet Crayons for the Little Guests

Looking for a quick idea to keep the kids busy at your wedding reception? Look no further than this awesome tutorial for DIY alphabet crayons I saw over at Spearmint Baby.

You could spread these out at a childrens' activity center (spelling your names or other little phrases) or package them up in to-go bags for each of your littlest guests. Parents will be forever grateful!

So it's not really wedding related, exactly, but I thought I'd share anyway. After we had our last baby shower I really wanted to hold on to all the cards, but had nothing to do with them, and nowhere to put them. So I came up with a solution... with a little inspiration from this butterfly punch tutorial . I ended up punching out little butterflies from each card and came up with this piece, to hang in the nursery:

I'm thinking you could totally use this (with another craft punch) to keep a memento of all your bridal shower cards. You could even find a fun punch to use for your place cards if you got really ambitious!

I ran across this most unique shop today… it’s called EmersonMade, and it’s glorious! Based out of New Hampshire, Emerson and her husband Ryan run the shop. They specialize in hand dyed and hand stitched blooms and accessories, and I’m just head over heels in love with these ring pillows—so adorable!

Hand-Cancelled Envelopes: Round 2

Awhile back I had posted about my frustrating experience with the post office and hand-cancelled envelopes. From that experience I had totally given up my post office hand-cancelling any of my important cards, invitations or announcements. They simply wouldn’t do it!

I’m happy to report, I have officially changed my mind about that issue. Last week I dropped by a smaller branch of our local post office, hoping to slide in and make sure everything weighed no more than 44 cents worth of postage. The two gentlemen working at the tiny desk helped me out tremendously by hand-cancelling all of my envelopes, and showing me the gorgeous new love stamps for 2010! I’m thinking the 8 month baby bump I’m sporting might have had a hand in the free hand-cancelling (which is usually 20 cents per envelope), but I’m okay with that!

If you’re finding yourself in the same situation, I highly recommend searching for a smaller post office in your area, and visit them during a slow time in the day to ask about the details of your mailing. It just might be the difference between hand-cancelling and running it through those dreadful machines!

I'm always looking for clever DIY ideas for floral arrangements, and today I finally found on that I can use at home, without going out and buying supplies. Check out the post at design*sponge... diy project: may day floral door basket.

I love how simple this project is, and all of the little embellishments you can add to make your arrangement a little more special. Plus, how perfect is the timing... you can make this one for Mother's Day on may 9th.
