UEFA Champions League Manchester United vs. Paris Saint Germain (0-2)

Paris Saint Germain drew first blood after winning the 1st leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 matches versus Manchester United. The two giant clubs met at Manchester United's home turf (Old Trafford) today February 13, 2019 for the 1st leg match and were almost on par with attempts and ball possessions during the match having no goals scored during the first half.

The 2nd half started quite differently and PSG was more aggressive and had more chances on goal. Eventually, the 1st goal came just 8 minutes after the 2nd half started. Presnel Kimpembe scored a beautiful volley goal from a corner kick and David de Gea wasn't able to react. The 2nd goal came from a counter-attack just after a few minutes after Angel di Maria's low pass to the center connected with superstar Kylian Mbappe who slid the ball past the keeper. PSG led from there and didn't let any chances for United to get back on the game. The home team's situation worsened when striker Paul Pogba got a red card at the dwindling minutes of the game.

Manchester United will have to dig deep on their 2nd leg match this March 7, 2019 at Parc des Princes in order to keep their hopes of another Champions League title.

AFC Champions League Preliminary Stage Ceres vs. Yangon (1-2)

Yangon United ended Ceres Negros FC's bid for the AFC Champion's League title after their preliminary match with a 2-1 goal.

Yangon opened up the scoreboard at the 29th minute thru midfielder Vinicius Guirra Miller de Oliveira. This gave Yangon the lead but despite trailing 1-0, Ceres Negros still went all out which eventually led to a goal before the whistle for the 1st half. Filipino striker Stephan Shrock, delivered the equalizer much to the delight of the crowd.

The deciding goal came just 14minutes after the start of the 2nd half. The game finished 2-1 in favor of Yangon United, and all congratulations to them as they will advance to the AFC Champions League 2nd round and continue their bid for the title.

Qatar not only stunned Japan but also shocked the whole football world after they were crowned Champions in the AFC Asian Cup 2019 with three goals to one.
Qatar established themselves early by scoring the 1st goal when striker Almoez Ali struck a beautiful bicycle kick goal at the 12-minute mark followed by the 2nd goal also in the 1st half scored by Abdulaziz Hatem at the 27th minute. Qatar was definitely in command throughout the 1st half leading 2 goals to nil. Entering the 2nd half, Japan's only goal came at the 69th minute by Takumi Minamino which gave life to Japan's chances of tying the game. Akram Afif then scored at penalty spot at the 80th minute after a handball by Maya Yoshida. Qatar then held the lead until the match end. This is the first time the Qatar national football team won the prestigious AFC Asian Cup.

Qatar and Japan will face each other for the Finals of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 tournament. Both teams displayed great excellence, courage and drive to outlast every challenge that came their way in terms of football, both are already considered champions but there's only on AFC Asian Cup 2019 champion and it's only for who wants it the most.

AFC Asian Cup Semi-finals Match Result

Qatar vs. UAE (4-0)

Qatar secured its place to the finals of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 after winning the semi-finals match against the UAE with a 4 to nothing score.

Despite being against the host nation UAE, Qatar managed to sneak in 4 goals and win in a very dominant fashion. Qatar started racking in the goals early with 2 goals all on the 1st half of the match. The first 1st goal came at the 22nd minute by Boualem Khoukhi then followed shortly by Almoez Ali at the 37th minutes. Tensions and emotions were quite high while the match was ongoing after some members of the crowd showing their frustrations by throwing bottles on the playing field which was eventually controlled.

The 2nd half of the match continued with Qatar still controlling game which eventually led to the 3rd goal late at the 80th and 93th minute by Hassan Al-Haydos and Hamid Ismail respecfully.

Qatar will now face Japan in the Finals of the AFC Asian Cup 10pm Friday, February 2, 2019 at ZSC Stadium.

Iran vs. Japan (0-3)

Japan will be the first team to get the slot for the AFC Asian Cup finals match after they beat Iran with 3 goals to nil.

The first goal came through a header by Yuya Osako right at the 56th-minute mark after a spot-on cross from Takumi Minamino. The 2nd goal came 11minutes from the first goal due to a penalty kick after a handball from the Iranian defense, Yuya Osako took the spot-kick giving Japan a 2 goal lead. Nevertheless, the Iranians kept on fighting and still had a lot chances in front of goal. Then, the final goal that sends Japan into the final came after the 90th minute thru a counter-attack scored by Genki Haraguchi.

Japan will face the winner between Qatar and UAE later, 10pm at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium.

The AFC Asian Cup have produced the most bizarre match results since the start of the of the tournament, and now for the last match of the quarterfinals, it did not disappoint.

Coming into this match, the Australians were the favorites win even if it's played on the UAE's ground. The Australians have most of the possessions and shots most of the game but they didn't capitalize. The only goal in this match came from a blunder back pass from the Aussie's defense not noticing UAE's striker Ali Mabkhout on the way to intercept the pass which eventually lead to the winning goal.

Qatar pulled an upset win after defeating the favorites South Korea in their quarterfinals match.

The Koreans were dominating the whole game bombarding the Qataris goal shot after shot but all have been off target or denied by the keeper.
Qatar's winning goal came at the 78th minute of the match after a wonderful long low shot by Abdelaziz Hatim.

Now that only four teams are left for the 2011 Champions League tournament. Who will be crowned champions?

With the first legs of the semi finals going to FC Barcelona (2-0 win against Real Madrid) and Manchester United (2-0 win against Schalke FC), I'd to say that FC Barcelona and Manchester United will most likely meet in the finals, there's a big BUT we can't just take out Real Madrid and Schalke for a space in the finals. I mean, having reached this far, they won't simply hand over the opportunity of becoming Champions and the right to be called the #1 football club in Europe. The ball is round and 90 minutes is enough to create an upset for FC Barcelona and Manchester United.
