Right after graduation, I went on a road trip to Davao Oriental.

I went to Baganga and Cateel, Davao Oriental to which I frequent.

One place I have only been to once is Governor Generoso. The place was beautiful, but my first experience was a little lacking. So, I said to myself, I will return the next month or the month after to experience it all over again...

AND SO, I DID.

I started law school with no idea what I will have to hurdle in the coming years.

As the first aspiring lawyer in the family, I only had with me the courage and belief that I will get through law school's challenges one day at a time. Kakayanin, I said.

Day 1, Orientation came and so I heard the famous line: 'Law school is like a walk in the park---Jurassic Park, and the park was on fire.'

I laughed. Little did I know, it was not a joke at all.

Every day in that park is a constant battle between QUITTING and PERSEVERING. There are days that make it so hard to stay positive, and that you just want to burn in the hellhole you dug. There are days that I wanted to quit so bad, I bawled my eyes out crying and convincing myself to stay.

However, there are also days that are so happy and fulfilling, that makes you feel reassured that you are on the right path. You tell yourself, 'YES, THIS IS WHAT I AM HERE FOR.' These days are the happiest of all days. These are the days that you draw strength and courage to persevere more.

Law school is scary. I will not dwell on the horrid details of how scary it is. But, undeniably, law school is a REWARDING and HUMBLING experience.

Indeed, I had many mental breakdowns during my stay. I had my own share of setbacks. But, during my stay, I also had a lot of proud moments. I had friends and support groups to which I drew inspiration. It was amazing.

In law school, I had my ups and downs; happy and sad moments.

All told, I dare say, my law school years were the BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE.

Fast forward to Graduation Day, I pictured my graduation day very differently back in the day. But because of the pandemic, I had the simplest graduation-at-home ceremony. Nevertheless, I was proud.

Looking back, my law school years will always be my favorite years (Yet, I will not want to go through that again).

Thank you family, teachers, friends and Ateneo de Davao University.

Here I am, FINALLY a JURIS DOCTOR. Proud.

I will be even more proud and happy when I get through the final stage of my dream: pass the Bar. It won't be easy, but like I said in my freshmen years: ONE DAY AT A TIME, kakayanin!

On to my last step.

Para sa mga hirap gumising sa umaga, NASHaan na ang COFFEE niyo?

Para sa mga nahihirapan sa buhay, NASHaan na ang karamay niyo?

NASH COFFEE. I came across this advertisement on their page where Diane Medina stars and claims that as an artista whose always on-the-go, she needed NASH COFFEE to keep her going?

My version would be 'Being a law student na laging puyat, stressed at nahihirapan, NASH COFFEE SHOULD BE IN MY SYSTEM. Kasi diba NASH maganda ang umaga 'pag NASH ang kasama, dahil NASH maganda pag NASH ang karamay sa buhay. HAHAHA!' 😁

In my everyday struggle, I needed something that would help me go through every hardship---hehe, like the hardship of staying up all night, waking up everyday and going through readings. Moreso, as a law student, I needed a karamay from all the stresses that I go through. So what better 'karamay' could there be in my everyday struggle, dba, NASH COFFEE?

COFFEE in general is integral for us to start the day. For most, without coffee, the day would be dry and less exciting. Most could not even function without coffee...ehemmm.

That is why, I always have a go-to coffee especially in the most trying moments of my life (like waking up everyday...hehe)!

NASH Coffee, I believe, would be the best jump start drink to start and face the day. Briefly, NASH COFFEE is delicious and has the right amount of caffeine that keeps us going despite the 'puyat' that we go through everyday. Beauty MNL Haul # 2

What I think about my haul after a month-long of use are the following:

1. Biore UV Aqua BB Cream

I like how light the product is when applied to the face. It's not heavy, yet the coverage is semi-full. It satisfactorily covers light imperfections of the skin. I like that it doesn't leave my skin dry. It has a semi-matte finish and feels very hydrating. Plus, it's very affordable. If my memory serves me right, it only costs around P300. Value for money!

Overall Rating: 8/10

2. Skin Genie Lip and Cheek Tint in Rose Pink/Tan Brown

The tint is very cheap. If I remember correctly, I bought each for P80. Cheap yet it satisfactorily serves its purpose. It stains the lips for about 4-5hours. Good enough! However, I don't like the fact that it leaves my lips, errrm, dry? I don't know if it's the product or it's just my lips being sensitive.

I have not found any lip tint that doesn't leave my lips dry. This happens only in lip tints though. Whenever I use lip tints, I get chapped lips after, unlike when I use lipsticks, lip balms and lip cremes. That's why it's frustrating kasi mas gusto ko sana i-everyday ang liptint. Or sa mga lakad sa kanto lang. (Let me know if you know a good lip tint that I could try.)

Overall Rating: 7/10

3. Faith. Hope. Love. Cucumber Hydrating Mist

I like it's scent and that it's refreshing when applied. However, I find that the product leaves me oily during the day. That's why I usually spray this only at night when I just finished washing my face and have gone through all my rituals, and right before sleeping. I use this as a moisturizer aside from my usual moisturizer. It's like the finishing touch of my skin care regimen. After applying and when it's finally dry, I feel my skin tight, smooth and cool. Plus, the product is also very affordable!

Overall Rating: 7/10

The Jergens Age Defying lotion came as a freebie.
Over all, I am very satisfied with my haul. Yaaaay me! 👌👌

When 2015 left, and 2016 happened my basic mantra was to #TakeRisks #LiveBoldly .

It was a good mantra to follow.
With that, I started out the year fine. It was fun. Lots of parties, adventure, and spontaneous road trips. In other aspects, I was more outspoken, aggressive, brave and positive. I feared less, and let go of 'what ifs' more. But not everything went quite well.

2016 was also a very challenging year for me.
For a large part of it, I had lots of painful and really sad experiences.
I lost two of my favorite aunts who is now with the Lord. One of them left in May and the other in November. (We missed you so much Aunt Betty and Aunt Remy.)
I also had experienced failure and defeat, and even went to a rough heart break. It was a rough year. For those who were there to witness it, I know you understand.

Looking back I really don't know how I got pass through it. It was difficult. Even academically speaking, I was struggling. Emotionally, I was striving to pull it all together.

But despite all that, 2016 was my year of DISCOVERY.
I discovered that I was strong, brave, and capable of hurdling giant obstacles. I discovered that I wasn't weak, and that I was even smarter than I thought I was. I discovered I had family and friends to lean on---family and friends who did not leave me even if I was unbearable at the moment.

Yes, in 2016, I was awakened by harsh realities----that not everyone we meet are worth the time, and worth the sincerity we give them.
That not everything we want will happen. That not everything we aim for will be ours.

I learned it the hard way. I've even made LOTS OF MISTAKES along the way trying to fix them. But I realized, NOT EVERYTHING CAN BE FIXED.

2016 was harshly memorable.
To top it all off, I even spent my 23rd birthday alone in the boarding house preparing for an exam.

It was hard, but still, it was rewarding.
Rewarding in the sense that what I am today is my trophy dedicated to myself.
I became a whole new person. Someone more real, and wiser. Someone who appreciates beauty more after seeing all the bad things. Cliche as it may sound, 2016 molded me to become better.

Now you may think 2016 was a sad year for me.
It was difficult, yes. But sad? NO.

As a matter of fact, it was still amazing. It was a mixture of everything. It just went by so fast.
2016 could even make up to my list of favorite years. It was really something!

To be fair, I had wonderful memories.

6. Finally resumed applying for the SSEAYP program. Unfortunately, I wasn't chosen. But it was fine. I was glad I reconnected with old friends and gained new ones. I hope I can apply again this year, and finally, be chosen.

7. For a LAW student, travelling is a rare opportunity. But thank God, I did. I got to travel for a short vacay to Bucas Grande, Sohoton, Surigao del Norte, and visit Banana Beach, Hijo, Tagum.

You see, 2016 was a very colorful year. I was so glad I witnessed and experienced it all. That I actually participated in life. It just shows that I wasn't just alive, but I was actually living, too.

Reviewing all that has happened, I have come up with a new mantra for 2017.
#MOVEON #MOVEFORWARD

This 2017 will be my year!
I will move on from bad experiences and focus on making new happy ones! I will move on from heartaches, things and people who are not healthy to me and my life, and MOVE FORWARD. I will strive hard to excel and be better. I will let go of people who hurt me and focus on those who care for me.

I will focus on great things and will aim for bigger things. I will use all those that I have learned in 2016 to make 2017 an even better year.

More importantly, I will LET GO, AND LET GOD. This year, I will also focus on rekindling my faith and connection with God. This thought alone gives me strength that whatever 2017 has in store for me, I will be strong enough to face it.

This is me---ready for 2017. Looking forward to a better year! Always positive.

My First BeautyMNL Haul

I'm a makeup enthusiast, but my problem is that I don't have much time to go on shopping or looking for new hauls.

Thank God for technology, everything now is ONLINE! Even makeup shopping can now be done online!

I love Online Shopping because of its convenience, that is why I really appreciate how useful beautyMNL.com is.

I appreciate how convenient and easy it is to access the site. Plus, beautyMNL is complete. It has everything, if not all, most of my makeup fantasies and needs.

Hence, when I had my first BeautyMNL shopping haul, I was so super excited I had everything documented. HAHAHA! :)

My hauls are the Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation (Php600), Olay Toner (Php202), and Dove White Beauty Bar (Php48).

Aside from the usual stuff, I especially loved the Loreal Infallible ProMatte Foundation. I really wanted to buy the Foundation for a while now but I couldn't really find the time to purchase one because of my busy schedule. Good thing BeautyMNL sells this!

I got mine in the Golden Beige shade.

I don't have a fair complexion so I opted for a shade which I believe suits me. So, this one is Golden Beige. I must admit, this one is a tad bit darker than my skin color. It was chosen in error. Errr, not really a mistake; more like serendipity!

Fortunate accident, I loved it!

Super! No kidding. I loved how I mistakenly chose this shade!

Serendipity! I'll tell you why. But first...

I like this product because of a lot of things.

First, its packaging is very hygienic. The sponge is separated from the powder. Pls see video clip below.

Second, I like that it lives up to its reputation that it is long-lasting, has full coverage and is lightweight.

YES! It sticks to my skin as if it is my own skin. Plus, it covers the areas which are less pretty. Plus plus, it lasts for almost (not exactly) 16-hours. I like that I don't have to retouch every now and then when I use this product.

As I said though, this is a tad bit darker for me, that is why I use it also as a sort of bronzer. I use it in moderation for the rest of my face but for the edgy part or the parts which I like to be a bit darker, I use it alot...So it doubles for me as a bronzer.

Ever since I used this, I get compliments all the time. Stuffs like 'Hey, you look blooming/glowing' or like 'Did you slim down?'. I swear!

Serendipity, I say, that I discovered this use! :)

To rate this item, 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest, I'd give this one a 9! No joke! It deserves a 9. I love Loreal, in general, AND in specific, I SUPER LOVE THIS INFALLIBLE PROMATTE FOUNDATION! :)

REVIEW: Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation + Dream Satin Skin Two Way Cake

Hi, everyone!

This is my first ever official makeup review. Yaaaaay!

I have always wanted to do makeup reviews but I don't seem to have enough TIME and GUTS to do it. So, I usually end up sharing my thoughts about certain makeup products I use, only, through my social media accounts. However, by some divine intervention, I finally have decided to do one here in my blog. Excuse my work, by the way, I'm still a bit rusty.

I'm no makeup expert, but because I love makeup so much I usually have a 'few' things to say about certain products.

To start, I'd like to share with you one of my favorite drugstore makeup brand, Maybelline.

I like their products because aside from being affordable, this brand delivers.

I'll be sharing with you my thoughts on Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation and their Dream Satin Skin Two Way Cake. I will also share with you a little of my thoughts about their Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.

MAYBELLINE Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation

Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation in B2 shade

The liquid foundation costs around Php499 and comes in a glass container with a pump. It contains SPF 24 PA ++, and it claims to provide satin smooth looking skin. Its description says it's long lasting, moisturizing and does not clog pores.

The consistency is very lightweight and 'blendable'. It spreads easily. I have mine in the shade of B2 which is a bit yellowish; great for girls who have yellow undertones.

When applied:

The product is very lightweight and has some dewiness to it, that when applied, it gives you that soft silky healthy glow.

I have a normal to dry skin type. So, personally, I like this kind of finish--- dewy and satin. It makes my skin look youthful. I'd probably use this on days that are less humid. Otherwise, if its humid,it might wear off easily and I'd always have to do touch-ups. Hassle!

I don't advise people who have oily skin to use this. Sorry, I don't think this product is for you.

With regard to coverage, I think it is only medium, not full. So to help cover those dark spots, pimple scars and eye bags, I suggest you still use concealer. OR, you just apply another layer of the foundation to get that full coverage.

However, in the photos above, I used Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I just dab the concealer on the target areas, and voila, you can't even see the dark pimple scars I have on my chin and forehead. Super magical item!

Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Two Way Cake

Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Two Way Cake in B5

The powder costs around Php399 and comes in this beige compact case with MAYBELLINE engraved into its cover. It contains SPF 32 PA +++, and claims to provide a non-cakey, ultra breathable satin skin finish that lasts all day.

In this review, I used the powder to set the liquid foundation using my Innoxa Kabuki brush.

I don't know how to describe it, but it's beautifully matte and satin at the same time. It's also very light on your face.

In the video above, it worked perfectly as a setting powder. However, I think it would also work well on its own. It has a better coverage than the liquid foundation and I think it lasts longer. It's perfect for girls on the go, just like me.

I think this would also be the perfect foundation to use on humid days, as compared to the liquid foundation. Plus, those who have oily skin would definitely like this finish. This one is definitely for you, guys!

All in all, I liked the above-mentioned products. But I don't really agree that they'd last the whole day. Not in my case. You'd still have to do touch ups though, but not as often. Maybe an interval of 3-4 hours, depending on the skin type.

The Ugly Truth About ‘Almost Relationships’ And Why I’ll Never Do It Again (Reposted)

I never thought I could get myself into an ‘almost relationship’, one that starts out fast, and ends fast. And I never thought that an ‘almost relationship’ could also break my heart.

The thing about ‘almost relationships’ is that there is potential for an actual relationship. It could bloom into one, right? And that’s the exact downfall about it. You keep hoping and praying that it’s going to turn into something beautiful. You keep thinking that it will until he texts you that he has changed his mind.

You keep thinking that it’ll turn into a love story, until he really does change his mind and walks out.

I was positive it was going to work out with this guy. I got giddy when I saw him. My heart beat out of my chest when I was with him, and I felt breathless in his presence. I introduced him to my friends. I slept over at his place. I told him my deepest secrets. I kissed him like I could only kiss a boyfriend. I gladly, let him walk into my life.

And I never expected him to walk out.

You never expect people to let you down when you feel strongly about them. You never expect yourself to fall for someone who has the audacity to do that to you. But sometimes, people blindside you.

People change their minds in a day. People walk out. People leave.

I thought it was my fault, truth be told. It seemed like he had done a 360 degree turn. One day he was kissing me and telling me I was beautiful, and the next he was saying goodbye with no remorse. I thought it was me that was the problem. Could I have done something to change his mind? Could I have said something wrong?

But it wasn’t my fault at all. It was his. He wasn’t ready. And he found another pretty little thing to play with soon after.

With ‘almost relationships’, there are always going to be questions. But it’s not your fault if it goes awry. If he walks out, it isn’t you. It isn’t what you said or what you did. It’s just him. It’s his issue and his loss.

‘Almost relationships’ can be incredibly heartbreaking.

Even more so than a breakup from a significant other. Why? Because it can happen suddenly, without warning. And it can end badly. Usually, more often that not, it’s going to end badly.

Don’t put yourself through it. Don’t give your heart to someone who isn’t ready. Don’t let an ‘almost relationship’ break your heart. Don’t welcome someone into your life, without even asking him what he wants or what he sees in his future. I made the mistake of not asking. I made the mistake of falling. I made the mistake of trusting someone, who I thought would never want to break me. Turns out, I guess I didn’t know him well enough.

People do shitty things. And it doesn’t mean that they are bad people. It doesn’t mean that they don’t have hearts. It just means that they sadly were on a different page.

They weren’t ready for the light you shined so brightly. They weren’t ready for your brilliance.

It will sting when they leave you. It’s going to knock the wind out of you, darling. That’s the thing about ‘almost relationships’. They always will knock you down.

Why We Should Forgive Those Who Hurt Us

Why should we forgive?

I don't know. In my case I forgive people because I realized I am not perfect. I realized I have made mistakes, and I've done them wrong. That I am also to be blamed why people hurt me because I hurt them, too. Or maybe, I may not have hurt them but I pushed them to act that way. Thoughts like, baka naman kasi ako ang problema, kaya nagawa niya yun.

I also think I forgive people because I finally understand why they hurt me. I finally understand circumstances that lead them to act that way. That it was out of their control; that they did not mean it. That they were really not at fault. That I was just a collateral damage.

I don't think there's anything wrong with these reasons. As a matter of fact, these are the most logical reasons I can think why I should forgive another.

It's easy to forgive when the other person is not at all evil, and you believe they really deserve forgiveness.

But what if, no matter how hard you think, you can never rationalize why that other person hurt you? What if all you can think of is how evil the other person is for hurting you on purpose? What if all you've shown was kindness but that other person still sought to destroy you?

I mean, di mo naman sila sinaktan. You've been nice to them naman. You did everything you are capable of doing, believing you could be treated similarly.

You gave more than you can give. You loved people more than they deserve. You showed them kindness and love. Wala kang ibang ginawa kundi maging mabuti. But still, they intentionally hurt you. They played you. (And feeling mo you don't deserve to be treated bad kasi you treated them well.)

Are the above-mentioned reasons still applicable? Can you still forgive? If so, why? WHY SHOULD YOU FORGIVE?

Why should you forgive someone, who:
#1. Never asked forgiveness (personally and sincerely) from you;
#2. Never explained why they hurt you; and
#3. Never had any reason to hurt you, but they did anyway.

Di'ba, mahirap? It's hard to forgive someone who you think does not deserve forgiveness.

That even if they ask for it, you'd want them to feel guilty about it. You'd want them to feel remorse, to feel pain, to feel GUILT. Most of all, you want to be even with them. You want revenge.
You want justice for the pain they have caused you.

Would you still want to forgive, when you believe forgiving them also means CONDONING ALL THEIR ACTIONS and letting them off the hook? That forgiving them means MAKING THEM FEEL LESS GUILTY ABOUT THEMSELVES? Would you still want it?

Of course, not.
It's a slight relief to see those who hurt you get, if not hurt, upset. Even the slightest hint of uneasiness on their part is a relief. A big sigh.

But are we happy? Are we okay? Does it take away the heaviness in our heart?

Yes, a little. It does. Uhmmm, no, it doesn't. Wait, let me think.

If we think about it real hard, the heaviness we feel just sticks to the corners of our hearts. It may not be as painful as it originally was, yes; but it's still there in our hearts, heavy as a dumbbell.

You don't recognize it as pain or hurt, anymore. It's something else, something easier to bear with but still as heavy as pain; It's anger.

This anger consumes us. It's addictive and, at the same time, comforting.

In my experience, I think it's good to dwell into anger.
I mean, nung mga time na galit ako sa taong nanakit sa akin, I was so productive.
Ang busy ko bigla; lakad dito, lakad doon. Aral double time, busi-busyhan kahit di naman. Kasi ayaw mo isipin ang taong nanakit sa'yo kasi lalo ka lang maiinis.

Then one day during those 'angry' times, I suddenly feel wiser and better because I am comforted with thoughts like, eto sasabihin mo sa sarili mo, 'Worth it ka. Hindi mo deserve masaktan.' 'Di naman siya kagwapuhan, ah?' 'Ano bang pinagmamalaki niya?' 'Hindi ko naman yun siya ka-level, bat ba ako nag-aadjust?' 'Hindi siya worth it' and many more. After that, I don't feel like crying or hurting anymore.

Di'ba aminin, it's good to dwell into anger. You feel like you can finally think straight. Nakakapag-isip ka na nang tama, nakaka-develop ka pa talaga ng self-worth.
But even so, don't dwell on it too long.

Yes, hate helps; but too much of it ruins the core of our being. It loses our identity.

Hate kills a part of us that is beautiful. In reality, hate doesn't make us better. It makes us bitter.
More so, it places that person who hurt you in a permanent place in your heart. That hate becomes your identity. You become jaded to that hate and to that person. You are confined to that hate; and as much as we deny it, that hate makes us think more and more of that person.

With that confinement to hate, we fail to see beautiful things and people that come our way. We fail to appreciate honesty, integrity and love. In other words, we get stuck in a seemingly sad reality where nothing good ever happens.
While everything else is moving on, you are still there...stuck.

Hate becomes this chain shackling you to the past polluting your heart with bitterness, fear, distrust and anger. Hate is just another way of holding on...and you don't want that anymore.

After giving it some time, I have come up with these beautiful reasons to forgive.

I am not saying that after making up this list I have already granted forgiveness. It's not that easy.
In my case, I am yet to forgive the person who caused me pain; but still, I'm relieved to know I have in me that drive to forgive. I am happy that I am actually capable of forgiving. Just allow it to take time.

So, again, WHY SHOULD WE FORGIVE?

Forgive...
Because it doesn't help to be angry.
As cliche as it sounds, forgive because it's the best thing to do.

Forgive, not because you want to mend ties, but because you don't want to burn bridges.
Forgive because you are not destructive; you are kind and pure.

Forgive because you want to wake up every day with a lighter heart.
Forgive because you don't want to miss out on a lot of beautiful things in life.

Forgive because life is easier when you learn to accept an apology you never got.

Forgive because you want to get well and move on. You want to be free from all attachments that came with the pain and anger. Forgive because you want to let go.

Forgive because you want freedom.

Forgive because you want peace of mind.

Forgive because you know your worth. You know you are someone genuine and precious and that you deserve to be happy.

Forgive because you love yourself more than you hate the person.

Forgive because you do it for yourself. Forgive because you choose YOU.
Forgive because you value yourself.

Forgive, not because that person deserves it, but because you deserve it.

Forgive so that you may heal.

Forgive because you owe it to yourself.

Of Haircuts and Hugots: Hair Philosophie by Jing Monis

For those of you who do not know Jing Monis, well, he is like the star of hairstylists. After all, he is the stylist of famous stars we idolize, right?

Jing Monis is known to have styled famous personalities such as Anne Curtis, Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Baretto, Erich Gonzales and many more.
For non-celebrities like us, the closest we could get to being touched by Jing's magical hands is to avail the services of his well-renowned salons.

Lucky for us Davaoenas, Hair Philosophie by Jing Monis is only a drive-away.

Hair Philosophie is located at the 2nd Floor of Abreeza-Ayala Corporate Center, along JP Laurel street.

Out of curiosity, I wanted to have the 'feels' of what it's like to experience Jing's magic.

Although I don't really need a haircut that time, a new hair color or any treatment, I really felt I wanted to.

IMPULSIVE. I know, right?

Partly I blame the stuff I was going through that time: a heartbreak and a bad day at Law school. Sounds pretty cliche but really I wanted to look different to feel different.

I don't know if they do this regularly but they served snacks and tea. Yaaay, perfect!

So I came in the salon that fateful day and checked in with the counter my salon appointment. I was booked for 1pm.

I was introduced to my stylist Rich Lee Chua (IG: @richleechua) by the front desk lady.

Now, Rich here is very easy to work with.

He asked me what I wanted. I said in the exact words, 'I want something different.'

In my mind, I don't want to be that plain Jane but I also don't want to be that edgy Madonna. But that time, I couldn't really tell the difference. (If you wanted me to be decisive, that time could be the wrong-est time ever. Gulo gulo lang din buhay ko, no?lol)

SO... In other words, I walked into the salon not knowing what I wanted. I WANTED A MIRACLE, that must be it.

Like a fairy godmother sent to me that day, Rich knew exactly what he wants to do with me.

He told me he's going to cut my hair a few inches, and that he's going to add color to my hair.
I was a little, uhmmm, worried when he said he's going to cut it inches more.

I've always been the long/mid-length hair kind of girl, so those words were not at all that comforting.

Plus, he said he's going to color my hair with light beige with a touch of RED. Yes, he said RED. I got more worried because red was never really in my list of ideal hair color. Run, girl.

I was about to panic and leave the salon.
I thought, 'Gel, masyado kang impulsive. Baka di mo naman kaya panindigan. Pagsisihan mo pa. Wag na. May pinagdadaanan ka lang.'

But then, Rich reassured me. 'Girl, you'll love it. It's going to be different, and you'll love it. TRUST ME.'

How can I trust you? I barely know you; you barely know me. How could you expect me to put my heart, este, hair in your hands when you don't even know my favorite food or color? HAHAHA! :)

But like I said, that time I was so lost.

So, I trusted blindly. After all, it's not the first time that I trusted someone BLINDLY.

So, why not?

'TRUST him, he's not going to disappoint you. He has a good reputation and a good heart,' I said. Like I always say when I see goodness in people.
I don't really know if this is a good thing, you know, yung being so trusting and unsuspecting.
But, oh well. Here goes.

So I sat in the salon chair and held on to dear life. Lord, please tell me this a good decision. HAHAHA!

I sat for 2-3 hours as Rich and his assistant worked their way to achieve that 'different' look.

After the cut and color, Rich said he's going to do a Macadamia treatment on my hair. So, I stayed there for another 30 minutes to an hour.

Then came the finishing touches.

After everything was done, I. WAS. IMPRESSED.

Perhaps this is the only impulsive decision I have made during those lost times that is not at-all REGRETTING.

I mean, buti pa sa haircut ko di ako nabokya.

Impulsive nga, worth it naman. Yung iba ko decisions? Worth it, ba? awww. HAHAHA

But anyway,

I loved my hair.

I looked so good, so pretty and so different.

AND yes, I felt good.

I was so satisfied.

Alam niyo yung sabi na 'To feel good, you have to look good', yes?Ganun na ganun ang feeling ko after, teh.

The cut was fine. It made me look edgy, and not at all fat.

The color was to die for. I loved it. I did not expect that the color was not really loud as a I feared it to be. It was just the right shade. It was a soft red on a beige/brown accentuated hair. It's a first, for me, to try on this color. It's beautiful.

Finally, the Macadamia treatment was amazing. It made my hair feel so alive and bouncy. I don't know what sorcery they did but, really, its going to make you want it more.

Buti pa sa salon, gugustuhin mong ulit ulitin ang pagiging impulsive. Unlike falling for wrong people, the salon won't make you regret your decisions.

Rich curled my hair just so I'd feel extra special. :)

Hair Philosophie is indeed a safe-haven for me. No worries, no regrets.

The MASERATI

I know this person who always tried to live up to everybody's expectations: her parents', siblings', friends', enemies' and even her own expectations.
Like a Maserati car, she was adored and envied for self control and unbelievable standards.

I think everyone saw her to have set her own rules, standards and pace which no one ever questioned. (She liked not being questioned. She was in control. Or so she thought she was.)

Everything was going well for her... Like driving alone in a newly-made concrete road, it was easy; smooth to say the least.

But despite everything being so perfect, she lost control.. Rather, she let herself lose control.
She realized she wanted to.
Like in driving, she liked the adrenaline that came with the 200mph drive without thinking and no hitting the breaks.

'DON'T THINK, JUST DRIVE', she said.

Only to realize sooner that she can't handle it.

SHE'S NO DRIFTER or SPEED RACER.
She's a Maserati car who liked the 60kph speed.
So she stepped on the breaks, and abandoned that reckless daydream of speeding away.

FINALLY, SHE STOPPED TO SEE THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS, THE SIGNS AND THE PEOPLE WAIVING HER TO HALT.

Relieved, she was. But it's a little late though. The precious Maserati got scarred. Not substantially, but still scarred.

Although a lot still looked up to her the same way,SHE NEVER LOOKED AT HERSELF SIMILARLY EVER AGAIN.

There's no bigger disappointment than the disappointment you get from yourself.

She had so high expectations of herself that a little scar made her act like a complete wreck.She wanted to be perfect again. She did not disappoint anyone, not that she know of. But she definitely disappointed herself.

So I told this beautiful, sad and disappointed Maserati, 'Forgive yourself.'
And so she did.

When in Cebu

I'm a Dabawenya. I was born and raised in the Land of Promise---DAVAO. But I can never deny my origin being a CEBUANA. My family originates from Cebu. Hence, I always consider Cebu my second home.

I have been in my second home for numerous times, and every visit is memorable. Not just because my family is there, but also because there ARE really a lot of things/places in Cebu that are worth remembering.

So, as I reminisce my moments in Cebu, I compiled a list of the places and/activities one must try or check out when in Cebu.

1. Swim with the Whale Sharks in Oslob, Cebu

Whale Shark watching are open only from 6AM- 12NN, so if you plan to swim with the whale sharks you better wake up early. Since Oslob is a long way from the city proper, you can opt to sleep the night before at one of the resorts around the area.

2. Attend mass at Simala Church

3. Swimming at Kawasan Falls

I heard that canyoneering is the must-try activity around this area. I have yet to try that one.
It was unfortunate that we were time-constraint when we went to Kawasan. We did not have the whole day to do 'canyoneering'. However, I still look forward to the day I get to try that. :) Nonetheless, it was fun. The place was really cool, and the coral blue water is amazing. It reminds me of the waters at Hinatuan, Surigao. :)

4. Fort San Pedro

5. Magpa-'Sinulog' at Magellan's Cross

6. Try the 4D, Skywalk and Edge Coaster at Crown Regency

7. Lapu-Lapu Shrine and go souvenir shopping

8. Check out Alegre Guitars

9. Spend a day swimming, rock climbing, and more at Plantation Bay. It's totally worth it.

10. Visit the Taoist Temple

11. Visit Samboan Park.

If I recall correctly, there was an old church in this park. Then, there was a site here where there were stories that they digged up a miraculous statue of Jesus. The place was basically HOLY. I don't know if the place is still the same, but I believe it's still worth visiting. I haven't been there since 2010. But if you decide to visit this, just prepare yourself for another long drive. :)

There are still a lot of places to discover in Cebu, especially now that more tourists are visiting the area. That is why I always take pride in claiming Cebu as my second home because of its many surprises. I still look forward to more visits though. I never get tired of going back to Cebu.

When I do get back, I'll update this blog.

For the mean time, I'd appreciate it if you leave in the comments section your suggestions of the places I still have to go to AND/OR adventures I still need to try out.

I'm positive I'm going back to my beloved Cebu City in the near future. Hence, I'd appreciate it if you help me out with my itinerary or list of activites. Thank you. :)

The City of Mati and Summerfrolic 2016

The City of Mati is popular in the Davao Region for having beautiful beaches and for being one of the top surfing spots in the region. In addition, it is also very well-known for throwing grand parties, and one of its annual and most publicized party is the SUMMERFROLIC PARTY.

But before we talk about the party stuff, I'd like to share to you the side of Mati which I believe you must also see. Here are a few of the places I believe you should check out in Mati.

While you're there, ask a local to teach you how to surf...

Rates usually are around Php300/hour.

There were no good photos of me riding the wave, so here's my friend.
But I did get to ride one wave, out of numerous tries. hahaha!

4. The other side of Mati beach. I forgot what to call this place but it has no resorts. It's undeveloped and secluded, but it sure has a beautiful view of the sunset. AND it's calmer to be on this side. ♥

Now when you happen to be in Mati in time for Summerfrolic. Be prepared for a wild and beautiful night. The party is a 2-night event.

I had more fun in the second night, though.

There were fireworks, foam, and more.

However, the first night was cool, too. There were also foam, loud music, beautiful lights...everything except the fireworks.

I believe the fireworks were set for the second night, which also has the most number of party-goers. Unlike the first night, the second one was jam-packed.

But if you are free on both nights, I suggest you be there on both. Here are a few photos of our awesome party nights at Summerfrolic 2016.

I could not put everything into words but my SUMMERFROLIC experience is by far one of the greatest and most unforgettable parties I have been to. It was wild and fun!

Oh, and a piece of advice in case you intend to attend the next Summerfrolic party, book a room early. Our suite at Lane's Katulganan were booked ahead by our sponsor SMART. It has now become an ultimate summer destination, especially for people from Davao. As a Davaoena who has been to Mati, I'd say the 4-hour drive was totally worth it. Such a beautiful place. ♥

The Travel Teller's Project Give Back Year 4 and Experiencing Cateel (2015)

Most of us have planned notable 2015 year-enders. Be it a holiday trip to Japan or Korea, a short ride to the beach, or even a simple dinner with family/friends at a favorite restaurant, we all have that special way of celebrating the holidays and the year-end. This what makes the Christmas season (including the New Year's) the most wonderful time of the year!

As for The Travel Teller of thetravelteller.com, 2015 will not be complete without the annual gift giving activity. For him, Christmas is always the season of giving. To give back is a way to be thankful for all the blessings we have received for the year that's about to end.

This year, 2015, The Travel Teller is celebrating its 4th Year of Giving Back with its theme, 'Magpasaya ng mga Kabataang Mandaya Ngayong Pasko'.

This year's beneficiaries are students of Maylaya Primary School, Spur Dos Elementary School, Baybay Elementary School, and residents of Purok Talisay of Cateel, Davao Oriental.

If you think these recipients are lucky, we, volunteers are even luckier. We have received something this season that is beyond compare...priceless, even.

I and a few other volunteers from Cateel and Davao City were invited by the Travel Teller to take part in this year's activity. It was an exciting idea for me to be part of something altruistic. I have always liked the idea of community work and volunteerism. Growing up, my parents raised me to be a proactive member of the society, and even in my younger days I remember our family organizing gift giving activities, feeding programs and medical missions to different communities. So for me, this not something new. That was what I've thought so.

Little did I know, this experience will be extra special and...uhmmm..different.
From the day we arrived in Cateel to the day we left, I realized I will never feel about Cateel the same way again.

I used to think Cateel as a sad aftermath of Typhoon Pablo.
As we all knew, 3 years ago, Typhoon Pablo left Cateel in a devastated state. I only learned of the typhoon victims' whereabouts and the place's condition from the news and social media back then. I felt sympathy to all those affected during those trying time.

But much to my surprise, when we arrived in Brgy Poblacion Cateel, everything was, well, BEAUTIFUL. The trees were plenty, the houses were new, the fields were grassy, and the people were warm and happy. It might not seem all special to you. Moreso, you would even think 'duh, it was 3 years ago.' But to me, it was overwhelming to know people and places eternally scarred by a tragedy, but actually seeing them without any trace of such. It was amazing!

In one of my conversations with a resident there, he described Typhoon Pablo as both a 'curse' and a 'blessing.' I couldn't expound on that, but I sure understood what he meant.

That was only Day 1. Arrival. Meeting Cateeleños. Strolling around the park. Check in at Edar's Place. Dinner at VLanz Barbecue.

We gathered at the rendezvous around 7am. There we met the other volunteers. After the briefing and other customary greetings, we started loading the gifts to the service provided by the Mayor of Cateel. It was a blue dump truck. The type you use in quarries. Not only were the gifts loaded there, us volunteers also rode the truck with a full view of the mountains on our way to the students of Maylaya and Spur Dos.

The scenery is breathtaking and deserves a standing-ovation... STANDING OVATION. Well, on the way to the schools, we didn't have much choice. We had to stand the whole trip as the truck was filled with the gifts. Nonetheless, the view deserves an applaud. I even spotted a Brahminy Kite eagle with my bare eyes. It was that close. I know it was a Brahminy also because it looked like it. I experienced bird-watching in highschool along with members of the Philippine Eagle Foundation and young environmentalists, and I know a Brahminy Kite eagle when I see one.

Anyway, standing and being exposed to the heat of the sun and drizzles of the rain on the way were nothing. Even the bumpy road and the haunting cliffs were nothing. We all didn't mind it. For me, standing in the back of the truck with all the happy new faces was one helluva great ride. What was on my mind then, was THIS IS WHERE THE FUN IS.

It was my first time riding such an awesome ride, so you could imagine how exciting the ride was for me. I'm even proud to claim I am now an expert in climbing up and down a big dump truck. Yes, I'm awesome. I know. HAHAHA!

After an hour or so, we arrived at our first stop, the Maylaya Primary School. We had a few difficulties as it was raining when we arrived, and there was no electricity. Nevertheless, the gift giving in Maylaya was surprisingly fun and successful. We had a short program where the students also prepared a surprise number for us.

As the teacher said, the song the students performed were taught by the military members. I don't know why, but I took note of that thought as I had no military friend back when I was younger. It seemed amazing to me that these kids got to mingle with them and even learn a song from them. In my childhood, I remember being afraid of them, I don't know why. Looking back, perhaps the only military person I was not totally afraid of back then was my uncle. I find it amusing how thoughtful and friendly these military persons were to the people there. I salute all of you, sirs.

Then came the best part of the program, the games and the gift giving. I was as excited as the beneficiaries for this segment of the program. It was a nice feeling to see innocent children in BIG SMILES as they received simple joys. For me, it was a priceless sight. It was enough to melt my heart. It was beautiful and heartbreaking. I wish I could be as rich as Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg so that I could give them more.

It was about noon when we left Maylaya. Then we proceeded to the next school, Spur Dos Elementary School. We rode another hour before reaching the school.

We arrived there already a bit starving as it was past one o'clock in the afternoon already, and we haven't had our lunch yet. So, before the program, we proceeded to a room at the school where the volunteers set-up a boodle meal.

There were banana leaves laid out on a long table, then rice, liempo, lechon manok, grilled fish and ginataang talong. It was not only a satisfying meal, but also it was fun. At this point of the trip, I realized how much I'm having fun without noticing it. Even in the simplest things I do I am having fun, like carrying stuffs and sharing a humble meal. Everything was fun!

Right after lunch and a minute of preparation, we proceeded to the prepared platform where we will hold the program for the gift giving. There we met the students of Spur Dos and their excited faces. After a few introductions and speeches, we had parlor games in the open field. We played a lot of games, but one I will never forget was my favorite Catch the Dragon Tail game. I used to facilitate this a few years back in one of my sister's adopted site before we hold feeding activities. Now, I am also facilitating this game. Doing so, I have rekindled that youthful joy within me that I seemed to have almost lost in the city.

After the games, then came the gift giving. It was as overwhelming as the gift giving in Maylaya. It had that certain healthy thump in my heart to see happy kids. I have always been fond of kids, so it was fun to see them enjoy all the things we do for them.

One kid I caught smiling at me as he was opening his gift almost sent me to tears. I had to force myself not to be emotional, though. I don't want to ruin the moment.

When your kids cry because they did not get an iphone for Christmas... Show them this! I took this vid during the Gift giving activity in Cateel. It melted my heart. There truly is greater joy in giving!

We left Spur Dos a little late than expected. I guess having so much fun does make you forget time, but you know, time never stood still, so tuloy ang byahe. We have to carry on. So we rode again the blue truck.

This time, I wanted to be a little adventurous. So I decided to ride the truck with The Travel Teller and 3 other volunteers at the ceiling, or the top of the driver's/passengers' seat. Again, it was my first time. It was a little reckless and unsafe, but it was fun. It sent adrenaline rush all over my spine. But eventually, I had to go down. I don't think I have the energy to last the trip gripping only to a small portion of the seat to balance myself. It takes a lot of strength, you know, because the road was bumpy and had lots of ups and downs. So, at about 1/3 of the trip, I got down and sat on the floor of the truck on top of a few cartons which earlier were filled with gifts. Now that they were already distributed, the floor was spacious and I can now sit.

We headed back to Brgy Poblacion as our itinerary for the day were all ticked off. Maylaya, check. Spur Dos, check... Oh, we have one last stop before finally heading to Poblacion and rest. We dropped by Aliwagwag Falls Eco Park. A little breather for the day.

It was my first time seeing the beautiful and majestic Aliwagwag Falls. We were a little short of time to take a dip in the waters, but we sure did savor every photographic moment at Aliwagwag Falls. We took nothing but pictures, pictures, pictures.

Oh, Aliwagwag Falls, you are so photogenic, sexy and such a tease that I promise I will come back for you. I will come back to experience you. :)

After that, we went straight back to Poblacion. We went back to Edar's Place to freshen up and prepare ourselves for dinner. We had dinner at Cynthia's Economy Inn where Councilor Cynthia of Cateel prepared for us a simple banquet. A simple banquet that includes lechon... yum! hehe.. It was a rewarding meal after a long day's work.

I have to admit, I honestly needed a massage that day. But folks there has an even better idea. HOT SPRING in Baganga!

Our new friends and fellow volunteers Jylo, BJ, Ariston and Jade accompanied us.
It was around 10:30pm when we left Cateel in two motorcycles to head for Baganga. Baganga is a 45-minute ride from Cateel. It was already late, and not all the road were lit with light posts. So we had to rely on the moon for illumination, and of course, the motorcycle headlights. Surprisingly, the moon was cooperative and shove a bright light along our way.

It was beautiful: the moonlit road and the fun we had as we sped off the highway. Reckless? In my standards, a bit. Liberating? A lot. It was nice to step out of the comfort zone a little.

Upon arriving, we took a dip at the hot spring, spent a few laughter and conversations, and did a lot of singing. There was a Videoke Machine, and we were too talented to refuse the machine, ya know. It was a great night. I got to know these people I am with. All of a sudden, they were no longer strangers. They were friends.

As much as we would like to stay for the night in Baganga, we had to get moving and go back to Poblacion, Cateel. So around 12:45am, we left Baganga and headed for Poblacion. We had to make a few stops a long the way as it was raining. We had to stop in the middle of nowhere and rest on a hut to wait out the rain. After the rain ceased, we continued our trip until we had to come, again, to a complete halt as one of the motorcycles got a flat tire. It was a bit worrisome, and our new friends had to make a lot of calls for a rescue car. They finally contacted a friend, JM, to rescue us. But we had to wait for him.

So to kill time, we did a lot of talking. We talked about politics, and about crimes. Small talks, eh? It was almost natural that we talked about this, really. I'm a law student and they were criminology students, it was our common point. However, we had to stop talking about that stuff, eventually. The law was beginning to give me a major headache. lol. So we had to talk more about other stuffs. We joked more and even bullied each other a little more. Sealing the friendship, I guess.

It was fun talking to them. I also got to know them and picture out their life in Cateel. The stuff they went through and things they are trying to achieve. Honestly, they were fun to be with. I bet I'll be seeing them around as some of them are studying in Davao and also, I intend to visit Cateel again.
All the talking was an effective tool to kill time as we never noticed we were already standing in the middle of the street for more than an hour already. Then, JM arrived and we all headed home.

We arrived in Cateel around 3am. We wanted to have more chitchats over coffee at a bakeshop but I and my friend, Aldwin, have to pack our bags. We had a 3:30am call time at the terminal for our van bound for Mati. So, we have to bid goodbye to our new friends.

We didn't have any sleep at all. So we decided we just have to sleep during our travel to Mati.

In sum, it was a great experience. Tired, we were. BUT FUN, we had!

So, there.
We left Cateel with a lot of things to think about. It was a little sad that we only get to participate in two of the gift giving activities. But nevertheless, it was a humbling experience.
I have realized a lot and I am thankful for a lot of things I experienced.

I brought with me moments from Cateel that are priceless. I brought with me a humbler heart and a wiser mind, all of which came from the little and big things I did in the dainty little town of Cateel. The little sacrifices were a cheap price to pay for all the things I have gained during this trip. It was life changing!

Indeed, most of us planned great 2015 year-enders, but mine, you see, was not at all REALLY PLANNED but it was, nevertheless, GREAT.

There were a lot of spontaneous things along the way. But ONE thing is for sure, it was a MEMORABLE year-ender for me, EVEN BETTER THAN WHAT I HAVE PLANNED AND HOPED FOR MYSELF.

It was a great experience to cap off my 2015. Oh not just yet, the Mati Trip most likely sealed the HAPPY 2015 YEAR END but nonetheless, THANK YOU CATEEL. I'm looking forward for next year. You will forever have a place in my heart.

Afternoon Climb at Puting Bato Peak, IGACOS

SEMBREAK 2015 is almost over and I haven't been anywhere yet.
I'd like to think that Law School is the one to blame. HA!
Oh well, this is the price I have to pay for ambition.

So instead of sulking into misery (a little exaggerated) and while having breaks in between my study hours, I reminisced the summer I had right before the first semester of this year started. Such a sweet summer! This kind of thoughts relieves me from stress. lol

During that summer (or should I say the last part of it, right before classes started), I've been to a lot of places and I've gone through a lot of adventures. I've been hiking in Samal, swimming with whale sharks in Cebu, banana boating in Bohol, road tripping in Ilocos and a lot more. It's a shame I wasn't able to write a review about it when the memory was still fresh. But I guess it's not too late if I tell the tale now, I might still preserve the adventures I had.

So where do I start?

Well, to start of, I want to share my short but fun afternoon hike at Puting Bato Peak, IGACOS last May 2015.

I and two of my friends met up at the Warehouse at Penaplata around 2pm. We then hired a habal-habal driver to take us to the jump-off site. As I remembered, there were two trails to get to the peak. We took the Tayapok trail, if I'm not mistaken, which is the shorter but still not the easiest trail to go.

The road to the Tayapok jumpoff while riding the habal habal was not easy. I experienced a lot of mini heart attacks on the way there, considering that I was seated in front of the driver. The habal habal can only hold two passengers, but we were three so....you get the idea. Besides, my two other companions couldn't fit there, and I was the youngest and only person among the group that could fit the space in front of the driver. The road was steep, so many ups and downs; and it wasn't smooth. It was rough with all the large sharp rocks, and then it was muddy and slippery at another point. We even had to walk at some point because the way was dangerous for us 3 if we ride the habal habal. But thank God we arrived at the destination. I was already sweating hard even before we started the hike. Sorry, I'm not really built for outdoors. But hey, I lived; not just that, I got through the entire hike with no arte. Swear! lol Anyway, going back to the rollercoaster habal habal ride, I swear if I told my mom about it before I went there, she would not have let me. It was scary and.... fun! AND IT WAS NOT YET THE START OF THE HIKE! :)

So when we got off to the starting point of the Tayapok trail after almost an hour of the exciting habal habal ride, we then proceeded to hike for the Puting Bato Peak.

The trail was a little steep for beginners like me. Hangak siya, besh. But still, it was manageable. We had a FEW stops for water breaks, selfies and short rests, and then continued the hike.

After an hour, we reached the peak. There was a fee of P10 to pass through the gate and reach the very top.

We were standing at 1,755 feet above sea level. It was rewarding!
Furthermore, the view at the top was breathtaking. The fresh and cold air was overwhelming. It was worth every amount of sweat I shed during the hike. It was beyond words.

That afternoon was the most tiring and relaxing afternoon I had since the end of my first year in law school, so I guess you could picture out how therapeutic the hike was for me.

I hope I get to do this again when time allows, and I hope I get to do it at

Mount Apo. HAHAHAHA! So ambitious, but who knows?

I might just tick off that one on my bucket list anytime next year, right?

So, next up, Mount Apo? lol

Last May 16, 2014, Davao Bloggers Society held its annual Acquaintance Party. This time, the event took place at White House Fusion Cuisine and Wine Lounge located at Camella Northpoint, JP Laurel, Davao City.

Despite being a yearly event, the DBS Acquaintance Party always have something special to offer its members.

I take pride in being a member of this wonderful community. I've grown so much as a blogger and as a person ever since I entered DBS more than 2 years ago.

That is probably why I really enjoyed the Acquaintance Party because of the nostalgic feeling of remembering my first ever event. It was a life changing event because it led me to not only finding new friends but to finding a family, The DBS Family.

Thank you again DBS for this joyful memory!
I'm looking forward for more.~~~

Instax DIY Year2 DAVAO

A few weeks ago, the very first Instax DIY event happened here in Davao.

It took place in Robinsons, Abreeza Ayala Mall. The first thing I noticed was the event set which was so cute and artistic. It was also girly and very instagram-able. *wink*

They even have an Instax mascot during the event.

During the event, we were taught a few crafty tricks that we could try out using our instax films. We were taught to make the key chain of memories, the lamp shade lampstax, and more.

We also participated in a game where we were asked to make something crafty with the photos we took during the event. Our group, Davao Bloggers, made a cute hanger of instax photos. It was so fun that I forgot to take a picture of our work.

The opposing team also made an instax hanger and a cute tinker box using, of course, instax films. In the end, we tied with the other team and got ourselves a cute instax flash drive.

The Instax team also raffled a lot of surprises. Then, we were given loot bags. yey!

PS: Instax Camera in photo is not included in the loot bag. hehe. It's mine. :)

All in all, the event was a success.

PERCH Modern Kitchen + Bar

My summer vacation this year came out late. Law school was surprisingly busy and had absolutely no regard for holidays nor vacations. Hence, when I finally had my summer break, I was itching to try on new things and/or maybe try eating at new restos here in my hometown.

Luckily, a new resto opened here in Davao.

Perch Modern Kitchen + Bar just opened last April 18, 2015. They are located at the second floor of the newly opened Felcris Centrale mall.

Their rates may not be that affordable for the ordinary Juan but you may find it reasonably fair once you try out the food.

We were able to try all the food they had in the menu, which is really A LOT OF FOOD. So I guess if I had to write every single dish with detail, I might get hungry, leave and, well, let this post keep you hanging.. That would be tragic. lol. So I decided to just choose among the best ones. Although I liked everything in the menu, I had a few top picks. (I apologize for the not-so-decent photos.)

For the starters, my favorite is the Panko Crusted Oyster Sisig. I also liked the El Diablo Fries, the Spicy Fingers and the Bacon Chips. Between the salted and candied bacon chips, I liked the latter better.

I know this looks funny but its actually really yummy. ;)

I really want to share to you more about the food at Perch, but I guess reading this is not as good as trying out the real thing. So I'm going to stop now and let you drool over the food, then I'll let you decide if you want to leave now, get a cab and dine at Perch.

Good thing Perch closes at 2am so you can still catch up on the last order, if you're reading this late at night. You might also want to match your meal with a few bottle of beers and enjoy it with a couple of your friends.

And if you have to ask, would I recommend Perch? Yes. I've said enough to let you all know I enjoyed the dishes. #foodgasm #foodporn
