Saina Nehwal defeated her opponent PV Sindhu by straight games to clinch the women's singles title in the badminton competition at the 21st Commonwealth Games .

In a high-octane clash between the two Indian medalists, Saina took charge of the game in the last lap, sealing a 21-18, 23-21 victory in the all-Indian finals on the last day of the Games.

15-years-old Anish Bhanwala wins Gold Model in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol

Anish Bhanwala broke wins a gold medal in the Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol to take India’s medal tally to 34 on Day 9 of Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast, Australia. With the feat, the 15-year old became the youngest medallist for India in the history of CWG.

The teenager shot a score of 30/40 in the final after topping qualification to give India 16th gold medal, surpassing Glasgow CWG 2014 tally of 15 golds. His score of 30 is the same as that of Rio Olympic silver medallist in 2016.

Gautam Gambhir feels that the revised target handed to his side during the rain-hit Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Rajasthan Royals was stiff to chase with just two overs of powerplay.

Chasing a revised target of 70 runs in six overs via the Duckworth-Lewis Method in a rain-truncated clash on Wednesday, Delhi had to suffer a 10-run defeat against hosts Rajasthan.

Earlier, Rajasthan rode Rahane's 45 to get to 153/5 when the skies opened up in the 17th over. "We were very much in the game. It was a beautiful wicket to bat on, then 150-odd for 5 in 18 overs, we thought we could contain them to 170 and it was chaseable, especially with dew coming in later on," Gambhir said after the match.

"We were very much happy with the first innings. But then in 6 overs, 71 was tough. We had to go from ball one. Obviously with these sort of games, things could go either way. Just 2 overs of Powerplay, it's very difficult," the southpaw added. "If it was a 20-over game, it would've been much easier to chase."

Indian Premier League (IPL) matches which are scheduled to be held in Chennai have been shifted to another venue amid the ongoing Cauvery protests According to sources.

Recently, political parties and fringe groups have been demanding cancellation or postponement of all seven IPL matches in Chennai till the Centre constitutes the Cauvery Management Board (CMB). They have even asked spectators to boycott the matches.

Shooter Shreyasi Singh clinched the country's first gold medal on the seventh day in the women's double trap final here at the Belmont Shotgun Range.

The 26-year-old secured the top honours after edging past Emma Cox of Australia in a shoot-off with a score of 96+ 2. The two opponents were tied on 96 before the Indian shot one more to claim the gold.

While Shreyasi achieved the total after shooting 24, 25, 22 and 25 in four rounds, the Australian registered the same with the scores of 23, 28, 27 and 18.

Didn't do enough to prevent Facebook from being used to harm others: Zuckerberg

As Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's testifies before Congress fro the first time, he accepted that the company didn't do enough to prevent the platform from being used to harm others.

In his opening remarks, Zuckerberg, said, "Facebook is an idealistic and optimistic company. For most of our existence, we focused on all of the good that connecting people can do. But it's clear now that we didn't do enough to prevent these tools for being used as harm as well."

"That goes for fake news, for interference in elections and we didn't take a broad enough view of our responsibility and that was a big mistake and it was my mistake and I'm sorry," the 33-year-old executive said.

His apology came after Facebook is embroiled in a widening scandal that a British data firm called Cambridge Analytica had improperly gathered detailed Facebook information on 87 million users, up from a previous estimate of more than 50 million.

"Now we have to go through our -- all of our relationship with people and make sure we're taking a broad enough view of our responsibility. It's not enough to just connect people. We have to make sure those connections are positive. It's not enough to give people a voice. We have to make sure people aren't using it to harm people or spread disinformation," he added.

He said that he was committed to getting this right. He added the company was getting to the bottom of exactly what Cambridge Analytica did and telling everyone affected.

"What we know now is that Cambridge Analytica improperly accessed information by buying it. When we first contacted Cambridge Analytica, they told us they had deleted the data," Zuckerberg cleared.

He said that the company made big changes in the platform in 2014 that have prevented this specific situation with Cambridge Analytica from occurring again today.

"But there's more to do. My top priority has always been our social mission of connecting people, building community and bringing the world closer together," he said.

Pat Cummins ruled out of IPL season

Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season due to a back issue.

Confirming the news, Cricket Australia's Bupa Support Team Physiotherapist, David Beakley said that Cummins experienced some soreness in his back during his country's crushing 492-run win against South Africa in the fourth Test at the Wanderers.

"Pat experienced some back soreness during the fourth Test in South Africa. Follow-up scans have confirmed that he has bone oedema in his vertebrae," cricket.com.au quoted Beakley, as saying.

"It is important that Pat has time off bowling, to prevent the injury becoming more serious and consequently we have made the decision to rule Pat out of the IPL.Pat will now undergo a period of recovery and rehabilitation and we will look to re-scan him in a few weeks to assess the healing," he said.

"Following this we will be in a better position to decide on Pat's return to play timeline including participation in the limited overs tour of the UK," Beakley added.The 24-year-old player was bought by the Mumbai franchise for Rs. 5.4 crore during the IPL Player Auction in Benguluru in January.

Cummins, who missed Mumbai's Indians opening match against Chennai Super Kings, has appeared in 13 Tests in row since being included in national squad during the India tour a year ago.

Indians starts Day 4 with a 2 Gold and Silver Medal.16-year-old Manu Bhaker and seasoned campaigner Heena Sidhu clinching gold and silver in the women's 10m Air Pistol Punam Yadav clinched a gold medal in the women's 69 kg weightlifting .

Bhaker fired a total of 240.9 to claim gold, setting a new Commonwealth Games record in the category. On the other hand, Sidhu bagged silver with a total effort of 234. Australia's Elene Galiabovitch won the bronze medal with an effort of 214.9.

Indian weightlifter Punam Yadav clinched a gold medal in the women's 69 kg weightlifting event.
The 22-year-old from Varanasi lifted 100 kg in snatch and 122 kg in the clean and jerk category to finish with a total of 222 kg to make the country proud.

At present, India's medal tally reads six gold, two silver and one bronze. India currently ranks third in the medal tally with the nine medals. Australia and England are leading with 60 and 34 medals respectively.

Kolkata Knight Riders names Dinesh Karthik as captain for IPL 2018

Kolkata Knight Riders appoints Dinesh Karthik as their new captain for 11th edition of the Indian Premier League. Karthik was one of the front-runners to lead the side after the franchise decided to let go of their most successful captain Gautam Gambhir, who will be a part of Delhi Daredevils for the upcoming season.

Karthik has previous experience of captaining Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket. He led Tamil Nadu to a title triumph in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2009-10. He was also the captain of the India Red side that won the Duleep Trophy last year. In the T20 format, Karthik led TUTI Patriots to the Tamil Nadu Premier League title in the 2016 edition. He has a 72% win record as a captain of Tamil Nadu in the shortest format of the game.

Karthik was picked up by Knight Riders for INR 7.4 Crore in this year's mega auction.Robin Uthappa was named the vice-captain of KKR who was also among the top contenders for the job.

"It is an honour to represent Kolkata Knight Riders, one of the most successful franchises in the IPL and I look forward to this new challenge. I am excited about the squad that has been assembled, which has a great combination of experience and youth. I will do my best to represent brand KKR and the millions of KKR fans," the newly appointed captain said.

Xiaomi introduced 40-inch Full HD TV

Xiaomi has announced a new 40-inch Full HD TV in the series in China, ahead of the launch the Mi TV 4A series in India next week.
It has a UI layer on top of the Android OS that’s based on deep learning AI technology. It has Dolby and DTS Audio and also comes with multi purpose Mi Remote Control, which also has infrared in addition to Bluetooth to work with most appliances such as setup box. It also has Speech Recognition for voice control.

DHL Express launches its first service center in Goa

DHL Express has inaugurated its first service center in Goa. Located in Verna, DHL Express’ 47th service point in India will cater to the substantial growth of imports and exports in the State.

The new 3088 sq. ft. facility, located in close proximity to the Goa International Airport, will benefit customers in the industrial hubs of Verna, Vasco, Madgaon, Ponda, Panjim, Mapusa, through the timely connection of shipments.

OnePlus becomes the Market Leader in the Fast-growing Premium Android Smartphone Segment in India

OnePlus, a global mobile technology company, continued its growth in the overall Indian premium Android smartphone segment (above $400) by capturing 48% market share in Q4 2017, as per International Data Corporation’s (IDC) latest Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker Q4 2017.

The IDC data also highlights the growing importance of the Premium Android smartphone segment that outperformed the overall smartphone market with 97% YOY growth (vs 54% for overall premium smartphone market and 14% for the overall smartphone market). During 2017, OnePlus grew by a staggering 1116% in the premium smartphone segment as it further strengthened its robust performance in the online market and entrenched itself in the minds of smartphone users in India by consistently staying ahead of the players like Apple and Samsung.

According to the Counterpoint Research report for the last quarter on the Indian handset market, the premium smartphone segment was the second fastest growing segment (+20% YoY) in CY 2017 driven by the strong performance of OnePlus and Apple.
