Hello everyone! I am so excited to announce that we have finally launched our brand new SUPER cool web site! I will no longer be updating the frog blog and will now be using our new web site to send all of my blog posts. There is an email subscriber box right on my blog page which will allow you to receive your updates right through your email account. If you wish to continue receiving updates from me, please go to www.savingwithapurpose.com and click on Rita's Blog. This will take you right to my personal blog. Don't forget to sign up for email notifications while you are there!

Also while you are there check out the site! I am teaming up with Brittany Valentine who is a gifted writer of devotionals and a menu planning expert! You can find Brittany's devotional blogs on the site under "Brittany's Blog".

Check out "SWAP central" to find a super awesome message board where you can find coupons you need, post recipes and get new recipes, ask us questions or just message your friends and other couponers! I am VERY excited about swap central and can't wait to see the conversations begin!

If you go to "Resources" you will find all the local store's coupon policies which can be very helpful to have. You can pull them up as a PDF file which you can print and take to the store with you. Also, at "resources" you will find the 2010 Coupon Insert schedule which is also a PDF file so you can print it or view it. It will tell you how many inserts will be in your paper on any given week.

The "shop" link is not active yet, but when it is, you will be able to go online and purchase my coupon workshop booklet that includes EVERYTHING you need to know to save TONS of money on your grocery bill. The booklet is over 30 pages and is jam packed with information.

Lastly, Brittany and I will be traveling to your location to host couponing/meal planning workshops. If you are interested in hosting one of these workshops, you can view our "event calendar" to find dates that are available. If your date is not listed as available, then "contact us" will take you to our personal emails and we'll let you know if we can do your requested date. We are really excited about this opportunity and are looking forward to doing a workshop for YOU!

Savingwithapurpose.com is my dream coupon site and I'me very excited about it. I've always wanted a place I can go to do ALL of my organizing without having to type in a hundred different web addresses. If you look at the right side menu, you will find links to ALL of my favorite web sites. When you click on them, it will take you straight there, BUT the menu stays on the screen so if you want to navigate away from that one and to to another one, all you have to do is CLICK!!!

I don't know about you all, but I love the Laura's Lean Beef that they sell at Bilo. It is with the other ground beef and has a green label on it. It has no growth hormones or antibiotics in it... Well, guess what! I was checking out the "bricks" coupons just now and found a 1.00 off coupon for it!!! It's pretty pricey, so this is a GREAT find! Now how often do you find a coupon for ground beef!!!???

Swagbucks

Well, I have not, up until this point done a lot with my Swagbucks account, but all that is about to change. I am a die hard fan of ebates.com and wasn't real keen on the idea of using Swagbucks to shop with instead, so I signed up for the account, got my 3 swagbucks and have not used it since. Today I read an article posted by southern savers about swagbucks and decided I'd give it another try. This is what I found out.. Swagbucks is JUST a search engine, just like google! Only with google, you don't make any money! All you do is sign up for the account, install the toolbar at the top of your search box and anytime you do ANY kind of search, type the word or words into your swagbucks search box! That's it! I did that a little while ago and found 2 more swagbucks in SECONDS! You don't HAVE to buy anything. You just use it to search! How cool is that!

Ok, here's the best part. How many of you have old cell phones lying around?? I had 5 of them! Once you install the toolbar, click on "Ways to Earn" and then "Trade In". If you recycle your old phones with Swagbucks, you earn swagbucks for them! And THEY pay the shipping! I just did 5 phones and earned 34 swagbucks!

If you don't know why you would want swagbucks, then I'll tell you.. Because you redeem them for cool stuff! You can get amazon.com gift cards, Wii fit, and a million or so other things with your swagbucks. There are many other ways to get them too and I'm currently trying to figure out all the other tricks. If you'll notice, at the bottom of my blog, there is a box that says "swagbucks" on it. Coupon Workshop Postponed

Well, it is now 12:19 am and it has quit sleeting for now, but I don't want to take a chance on having people coming from outside of Simpsonville and having trouble getting there, so we are going to go ahead and postpone this until Feb 6th from 9am-1pm. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I will set up a new event on Facebook tomorrow and post a new message on here as well, so that you can change your RSVP if needed. Hope many of you can come next week. Just wanted to let everyone know that as of right now, the coupon workshop is still on for tomorrow morning, HOWEVER, if there is ANY ice or significant snow either tonight OR tomorrow morning, it will be postponed until next Saturday Feb 6th from 9am-1pm. Future opportunities-your input needed!

I have no idea how many people actually follow this blog, but I wanted all of you to know that in a few weeks hopefully, I will be launching a new web site. I will be leaving the frog behind (don't worry, I'll turn the stove off before I leave) and will be moving on to better things. My hearts desire is to use the talents that God has given me to help others and my new web site will be all about that. I will still be posting blog updates when I see good deals so none of that will change, but I will also be adding a few very exciting things as well. I don't want to give it all away but I will say that God has prompted me to take my teaching skills (if I have any) to the next level and offer coupon workshops to church groups and other organizations and to make my coupon book available for purchase so that others can learn how to do it for their families.. It's been like a puzzle for me the last few weeks and I've slowly watched all of the pieces fall into place.

I would love some input from all of you as to what kinds of things you would like to see on the website so if there is anything that you would like to see me add, please leave me a comment!!! I really want this web site to be helpful and informative and the only way I can make it that is from your honest input. I'll still be leaving post on the Frog Blog for now and I'll let you all know when I get the other website up and running and would REALLY appreciate your help in promoting it. Publix and Bilo Clearance

I don't know what is going on at Publix in Simpsonville but it is CLEARANCE HEAVEN in there!! I was there tonight and there was 3 BIG tables full of clearance items and it was also in a couple of other locations in the store. There is a TON of medicine items. Watch the dates on them. They are all still good, but some of them do go out this year, so if you are keeping it for future use, you might want to get stuff that expires next year. There was also batteries in there, bandaids, chapstick, spices, toothbrushes-ALL kinds of stuff. I had a coupon for just about everything in there!

I also wanted to let you know that there was a good deal at Bilo in Simpsonville as well. If any of you eat the Lean Pocket quesadillas, they were on close out tonight. It was the big box with 5 in it and they were priced at 2.47. I don't see any printable coupons listed for them,but there have been some that came out in October so some of you may still have some...

Pam has told me about a wonderful web site that helps me none at all, but I thought it might help some of you. You will find it at http://www.chegg.com/ Chegg.com is a textbook rental site. If you are in need of textbooks for school, you can rent them there instead of forking over the HUNDREDS of dollars that it usually costs to buy them new (or even used). Pam saw this on Facebook and tried it and has had great results. You order the books, they ship them to you for free and you can use them for an entire semester and then ship them back. She got a book that sells for over $100 and she only paid right at $30 to rent it. That is a HUGE savings and you don't have to try to resell it when the semester is over.

I'm not sure if they rent home school materials or not because I did not know any names of any of the books to try it out. If someone finds out they do, post a comment so we all will know. Thanks Pam!

Coupon Workshop

For your $5, you will receive a 30+ page booklet to take home that will cover EVERYTHING that is covered at the workshop. It will also include recipes and meal planning tips. Pepsi 12 pack deal at CVS!

This may not interest anyone but me, but it REALLY interests me. Robbie keeps Mtn Dews in the fridge at work for him and mostly Jason who has an addiction to them I think. Ha ha.. Anyway, we are always looking for deals on them where they are less than $2.50 and those deals have been few and far between lately but CVS HAS COME THROUGH with an AWESOME deal on Pepsi product 12 packs. This won't start until Sunday (unless you are a late Saturday night shopper like me) so don't run out just yet..

Here's the deal.. Pepsi products are on sale for 3/$10 and when you buy 6 of them ($20) you get $10 back in extra bucks! That makes them 1.66 each after extra bucks. And the best part is, you can do it twice!! It's limit 2 per card. On southern savers, there is also a rebate listed, but don't bother to print it out because it won't work in SC... BUMMER!!!

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I get bored easily. Thus the reason, I keep changing the layout of the Frog Blog! I just like to keep it interesting and I also like to find new things to add to it that help all of you in your couponing! Soooooo, once again, I've changed the layout! I've worked really hard on it and really LONG on it, because I am SO not a web designer and quite frankly do not have a clue as to what I'm doing, BUT it works for now (until I get bored again). Anyway, I wanted to point out some COOL new things on here!

First of all, I'll just be honest, I make a small amount of money if you click on the google ads that pop up. I would not mention this except for the fact that some of the ads are really good and you and I would BOTH win if you click on them. I have the parameters set so that the only ads that pop up are coupon deals and other deals at online stores. The bad thing is, I'm not allowed to click on them or it cancels my contract. That's quite a bummer because some of them are great and I'd LOVE to take advantage of them. So, if you have time, do some clicking on the ads that are at the top of the screen under my header and there are a few at the bottom and one small one on the side. One I wanted to point out is the Amazon ad. I love Amazon and if you have not discovered amazon, you are missing out. I've gotten MANY great deals, practically FREE magazines, and I bought Robbie's camcorder from there and got a GREAT deal on it. Anyway, when you click, I get paid, so IF you have time, I'd really appreciate it. THANKS!

OK, on to the good stuff... On the side, you will notice quite a few new "widgets" that hopefully will be very helpful to you. There is one for Southern Savers. Instead of having to go to the site, you can look right there in the widget and click on any subjects that interest you and it will take you straight to them! It is updated constantly, so anytime Jenny adds something new, it will show up there.

There is also a widget for Hot Coupon World. I get most of my Target printable coupons from there. You will also find a coupon database on HCW if you need to see if there is a coupon out for a specific item.

I've also added a widget entitled "Mommy Saves Big"- this one has all sorts of online coupon codes! If you shop online, check it out and save some money!

You will also find a widget for Swagbucks. I'm new to swagbucks, but it's a way to earn points for online orders and other things that you can redeem for some COOL stuff! If you've not heard of Swagbucks, check it out.

Some other things to look for on my blog is the AWESOME new coupon preview widget!!!! All you do is click on it and it will tell you what coupons will be in the newspaper for any given week! That was an awesome find and I'm really excited about that one. There is also a box on there for Facebook and Twitter. The best way for my blog to get advertised is for you to share it with your friends, so feel free to click on the box and share it with your friends. I've also added an email subscription box where you can get an email everytime I add something on my blog. Finally, if you plan to come to my coupon workshop on the 30th and have not told me through Facebook yet, there is a place there to RSVP right here on my blog. If you've already responded through Facebook there is no need to do it here also.

FREE coupon printing paper at Office Max and EBATES!!

Ok, it's official, I'm LOVING ebates and I'm loving getting office supplies free! I did both this morning and thought I'd share. First the office supplies. Right now at www.officemax.com they are doing a GREAT deal on printer paper. FIRST, you sign up for your Max Perks card (works like a Bilo Bonus Card basically) because you can only get this deal if you put in your Max Perks number when you order! Right on the home page of the website, you will see a little box on the right side that says "Max Perks rewards" in it. Click there to see all of the Max Perks deals going on this week. I ordered a 10 ream pack of printer paper (5000 sheets) and paid 34.99 for it. I also ordered 24 Black Sharpie Markers (for Robbie) and paid 11.98 for them. After I get my max perks check back, I will get 41.00 of that back! That means I got 5000 sheets of paper and 24 Sharpie Markers for NOTHING!!!!! If you print a lot of coupons, you should do this! Free paper can't be beat! I plan on using my 41.00 rewards check to buy ink for my printer, so I will pay 41.00 total and will get 5000 sheets of paper, 24 Sharpie Markers AND ink for my printer! That makes for some cheap coupon printing! (Oh, and by the way, I bought a $4 pack of pens to get my total over $50 so they would do free shipping, so all of it is being delivered to my house and I didn't have to pay any extra or any gas money to drive up there!)

Now for Ebates!!! I've mentioned ebates before and I'm STILL loving ebates. I buy a lot of stuff online because quite frankly, it's a better deal when you do it online and use online coupon codes (which are ABUNDANT on almost everything). I try to take advantage of free shipping deals and have gotten all sorts of stuff online. I also do a lot of Ebay to get things even cheaper. What ebates basically is, is a tracking site. They track your purchases and then give you a percentage of everything you spend back in the form of a rebate check. A little while back, I won a $500 Publix gift card which I turned into sears gift cards and bought a TV with it. Instead of just going to the store and buying the TV, I went through Ebates and bought it online and picked the option to pick it up at the store. At the time (cyber monday) they were offering 6% cash back to Sears on ebates. Since I paid for it online, I got a rebate from Ebates for $36!!! See how this works??
This morning, I did my order to Office Max through ebates and earned another 2% back from Ebates thus making my order FREE with Max perks AND I made a PROFIT on it by using ebates. The most important thing to remember is to ALWAYS go to www.ebates.com FIRST, before you order ANYTHING online. Once there, you look for the company you are ordering from in their VERY long listing of companies that participate, click on the company and wait for the box to come up that says your order is now being tracked. ONLY ORDER THROUGH THAT SCREEN THAT COMES UP, because if you order it in another window, it will not track and you will not get credit. As far as I know, you can't go back and get credit for something that was not tracked.

Another cool thing about ebates is that they have a friend program. If you refer a friend to them, you get $5 in your ebates account. Obviously, I'd love to get $5 in my account if you sign up, so if you sign up, please let me know at scqponqueen@aol.com and I will send you an email that you can click through to credit my account with the $5. Cheap L'Oreal Hair color anyone?

I just happened to notice what could be a great deal at Publix on L'oreal Preference or Feria Hair color. In the GREEN advantage buy Publix book, there is a store coupon for $5.00/2 boxes of L"Oreal Preference or Feria Hair Color. This morning I noticed that there is a $2/1 coupon off ANY L'Oreal hair color. You can find this coupon at www.coupons.com - Use zip code 29680. If you buy 2, use 1 Publix coupon and 2 manufacturers coupons, you will save 9.00 on two boxes! I'm not sure how much it cost at Publix, but 9.00 off has GOT to be a pretty good deal. At the store, I paid 35.29 for these 15 items. I used 11.70 in coupons making my actual total at the store 23.59 . I will mail in for my $10 rebate and my final total for all 15 items will be $13.59. That's not too bad considering the soap ALONE would have been over 14.00 if I had of paid regular prices!!!

Ok... RUN, don't walk to Publix. This is a GREAT sale!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm once again working on the Frog Blog to make it more interactive, fun and helpful, so if you see some strange things going on or if you can't access it at all, that is why. I hope to have it up and running by the end of the day. (This should be interesting since I don't know what I'm doing-LOL)
