"Here's who won't be winning a "Father of the Year" award in 2010: the Massachusetts man who tried to trade his 3-month-old daughter for beer or crack at a gas station.

Matthew Brace, 24, of Northampton reportedly tried to hand over his infant in exchange for "two 40s," a slang expression that can refer to 40-ounce bottles of beer or crack cocaine.

Chicopee police officers said they were not certain which substance Brace was seeking, according to a report in The Republican.

Police Chief John Ferraro Jr., who called the stunt, "a new low," told the newspaper that when a convenience mart clerk asked Brace and his girlfriend the baby's age, the derelict dad replied, "For two 40s you can have her."

State child welfare services later took the baby into custody.

Brace was not arrested but will be summoned to court to face charges of reckless endangerment of a child, police said."

So glad someone is finally putting Massachusetts on the map.

Some of the worst decisions people make involve when, where and why they take off their clothes. But that doesn’t seem to be a huge concern for YouTube user Chris3ff and the vloggers participating in his Naked Vlog Campaign.

As of writing, Chris3ff has located at least 125 videos. (edit: 600+ as of this date) My first reaction when hearing about this concept was, “Wow, we’ve discovered a way to make vlogging even more exhibitionist.” But what’s interesting about these vlogs is that many participants, normally so comfortable on camera, clearly find the experience a little disconcerting.

Speedyconkiwi is reduced to telling awkward jokes, whileJabazzy frets over her hair and makeup.

Of course, those from different planets seem to have no trouble whatsoever stripping down.

The guys seem to feel slightly more comfortable going sans garments (perhaps because a head-and-shoulders camera framing puts them in much less danger of violating TOS). Here,BilliLovesMargot performs an homage to the D’Angelo video “How Does It Feel”.

Not all of the men participating are so excited about taking it off. But Nalts’s round-up of this meme is comprehensive and fun — plus, naked Nalts, which is certainly not something you see every day (unless, I assume, you are Mrs. Nalts).

As Dinzla admits at one point, “I think this naked vlogging thing is kind of fun to do, because, well, anyone can do it. We all have a body and the only thing keeping you from revealing your body is you.” Of course, just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. But there’s something compelling about watching people normally so comfortable with exposing their emotions expose their bodies — or their bare shoulders, at least.

I wonder how longtime fans of the vloggers feel after watching the videos. After all, once you’ve seen someone naked, your relationship has totally changed..

It's a long process and I feel as though I'm taking baby steps. The water's cold but there comes a time when your biggest concern is no longer what people might think when you're getting out, it's how satisfying it is while you're in.

The internet, for me, has always been a crutch. It's been the focal point of my life, but also it represented so much of what I considered possibility. The greener grass on the other side. After a long string of disappointments, I'm starting to understand that possibility is another word for hope, and hope can often be likened to fantasies. That is to say, sometimes just believing something may exist - and not allowing that thought to rule your life - is enough. An active search for it is more often than not a step in the wrong direction and will only leave you broken. More cynical.

Pleasures need not be complicated to satisfy our deeper need. They need only be trustworthy and reliable, and express a concern which is devoid of vanity. Love not for the sake of loving but because there is no other way.

Someday, we all grow tired of sabotaging our lives, and allow good things to manifest themselves without guilt. This is a step in the right direction.

I often feel misunderstood, sometimes cheated.. but what does the world owe me? What does anyone owe me? More importantly, what is it I feel I've earned?

Do you ever think about dying? What it would be like if you weren't around, who would cry and for how long? Which old flames would come out of the woodworks, which friends would decide not to show up to your funeral? What personal belongings would you want passed out among friends, and which items to whom?

Do you believe that in the end, we're all alone? Or are those who subscribe to that concept the ones that end up passing without a hand to hold? What is more painful, to die alone or to leave someone behind knowing they will likely die from the heartache of losing you?

Is love an imagined -or worse, a natural physical- response to positive stimuli? Is it just as easily lost as a cold or fever? Or is its impact upon our memories something that can never be forgotten? Will I hold a place in my heart for every person I've ever loved?

Does any of this really, truly matter? Perhaps not, but I'm certain of this: there is nothing like a fresh start.

Just decided to download Google Chrome and take it for a test drive. YouTube videos have been loading kind of slowly for me lately, and I figured since Google owns YouTube, their browser must handle their videos pretty well. First impression: It's clean, simple, efficient. I feel like I have more space on my screen to view webpages, somehow. Good to see they utilize the same Ctrl+T command as Firefox to open a new tab. It automatically imported all of my bookmarks from Firefox, even the toolbar bookmarks were updated. Nice.

The browsing is definitely a smoother experience. Less time waiting for images to load. I can get to a webpage and scroll to the bottom without finding any missing images, which is a vast difference from when I was using Firefox. For whatever reason, everything felt like it was getting bogged down, so this is refreshing. So far, so good, Google. Only thing I want to change is the color scheme, certainly there must be some way of doing this and I'm about to look into that. But first..
