Magic Kingdom opened Splash ‘N’ Soak Station in fantasyland in Park. Disney World tips.

2012-09-07T04:18:00.002-07:00

Our September Tuesday 2012 trip Disney Magic Kingdom.

Above is a picture of the Ferry Boat sign to travel to the park. Since we travel with Baby boy, the easiest way across the lake to magic kingdom are the ferry boats. This way, you do not have to fold the stroller like on the monorail. Most of the time you will be able to get on, on the first or second run of boats.

As the ferry docks, you stand and wait for behind the bridge along a covered port.

Pass holders are issued the same form of tickets as those who have 3-day passes. The change is a waterproof, durable, and smudge proof paper that holds your information. We have found it easy to wear about your neck within a lanyard plastic for easy access for ticket gates, and the fast pass rush.

All parks are decorated to match the seasons. Here in September the park is decorated for the fall with pumpkins, hay and warm colors.

Balloon carts are in the front of the park. These are helpful when you do not have a marker for your stroller in stroller parking. Having a balloon tied to your stroller will cut down on time when looking for it.

As of September 2012 the addition to Fantasyland has not been opened. The Splash 'n' Soak Station has been opened. A cute addition to this area, setup as a train and circus theme. Make sure to carry a change of clothes, if you plan on getting wet.

In Fanstayland, you can travel by train to get to other parts of the park. Along the way you get a glimpse of the hidden parts of some rides.

The map is large, but showing everything in detail. Including the price range of their resturants.

Winnie the Pooh ride has a play wait area for the little ones. Also a spot to meet the characters.

Tigger is such a funny character.

In the cafe within Furtureland, downstairs is a performing alien. A great spot for little ones to dance and eat for lunch.

Located in the front of the park is an activity board. Where you can check up on all of the events for the day.

Not far from, around a hidden corner, is the baby care center. What a great place to change, nurse, and feed your little one.

Changing tables in the baby care center.

Aladdin spitting camel, watch out.

Splash mountian.

The renovated Hall of Presidents, is a must see.

All parades are taped and roped off.

The guide inside said, "there are only four of these seals located in the United States."

Nap time.

It is always great to bring a towel of blanket to cover little ones from the sun.

Diamond parking is located just pass the handicapped parking. Once in the diamond parking, place your diamond pass and your parking ticket in your dash window for this area.

Once parked follow the castle walkway to the park and or home.

Labor Day Weekend Beach Adventures

2012-09-03T10:12:00.000-07:00

Happy Labor Day 2012.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful evening at the beach. Baby girl and Baby boy enjoyed their play time in the small tide pool, which created the right amount of water for a toddler to play in. The weather was perfect, the tide was low, and the sun was in the right spot. We could not have asked for a better evening on the sand.

How to plan for the beach?

Here are a few tips when going to the beach. I have always found helpful.

Pick to right time of day for family. (consider crowds and sun position)
Pack a cooler with water, snacks, and small prepared meals.
Limit towels you bring.
Park or setup near facilities.(for showers and potty breaks)
Pack sand toys.
Pack change of clothes for little ones.
Bring a blanket or chairs.
Ipod speaker for music.
Plastic bags for wet items.
Lastly sunscreen and your excited little ones.

It's always sad... when it's time to leave the beach.

Hair Today, In Your Hand Tomorrow.

2012-08-30T05:29:00.000-07:00

Well about 3 weeks ago, the end of summer, Zee asked if I could give her a hair wrap. I said yes and here we are today. Time passed by and she wasn't ready to take it out for school. But here hair wrap had other plans.

Zee: "Mommy you would not believe what kind of day I had today."

Mommy: "What kind of day did you have."

Zee: "here"

Mommy: "OMG, your hair wrap fell out."

Zee: " all I did was touch it and it fell out.... and my hair is still it. And, you wouldn't imagine I held it in my hand at school all that time."

Mommy:"why did you hold it in your hand and not put it in your bag?"

Zee:"because it fell out."

OMG...

How long should a hair wrap stay in?

No longer than 3 weeks, I would say. Or you may run the risk of losing that portion of hair.

Be careful not play, twist, and touch your hair wrap to much. This will cause it to twist and tangle at the root. At the root, once tangled the hair becomes fragile which leads to it breaking out at the root.

To preserve your hair wrap:

minimize touching

pulling on your hair wrap

twisting of any kind

Ps. Zee is looking forward to getting another hair wrap. OMG

Can You Guess Who Has New Glasses?

2012-08-22T12:04:00.002-07:00

Zee has new glasses. Thanks to the super nice folks at our local target, she was able to have her examination, pick out her favorite frames, and smile today about them.

The frames she picked out has a diamond edge made by Vogue paired with Transitional Lenses.

What are transition lenses?

They are lenses that darken on exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Once the UV is removed (for example by walking indoors), the lenses will gradually return to their clear state. These lenses may be made of glass, polycarbonate, or another plastic.

They will darken into a sunglass tint when exposed to U.V. thus removing the need to carry a separate pair of sunglasses for protection against harmful U.V. rays from the sun.

My little big one loves them. I was pretty iffy about them. Now I am so glad she has them.

They look good on you, pretty girl.

Best of Bubble Buddies - summer 2012

2012-08-18T07:35:00.000-07:00

One play date away from the start of school, no better way to share it with your best friend, then blowing bubbles on a hot summer day.

But, you know you just can never enjoy yourself with someone coming up to you asking a weird question, " Are those your bubbles?". One little girl asked as passing by.

The girls ignored her and just kept blowing bubbles, as they ignored me taking pictures.

How to get Aqua Sand out of hair?

2012-08-11T15:07:00.000-07:00

How to get Aqua Sand out of hair?

Playing with Aqua sand here was all fun and games until the little one to the right, took a cup and poured Aqua sand and water on his head. What a nightmare? The sand harden at the scalp, as it would in water. On the package it says nothing about staying clear of hair only carpets.

Considering carpets can be much like hair, Now I could see why.

Not sure on which part of this process worked but these are steps I took to get the harden sand mixture out of his hair.

1. Frantically washed his hair about 10 times.

2. Placed conditioner on hair because the sand seemed to have made it very dry.

from this the sand turned white or clear like

3.Rinsed and rinsed and rinsed until he couldn't take it any more.

4. Much came out just from steps 1-3

Allowed to dry and I sectioned his hair off and combed through to the roots and brushed out any remaining sand mixture.

It you have found yourself, not being able to get Aqua sand out of hair please share your experience below to help others.

Parents you have been warned.

Little Gymster Bubble Rocking, With Sidekick Shadow

2012-08-11T08:22:00.000-07:00

The Little gym time.

Zay prepares his morning before the little gym with his ole trustees binky1 and binky2.

Then it is, shoes and socks off and time to head to the glasses door. Just a couple bangs on it, never hurts anything. Soon after his teacher announces "it time to go explore today." Then watch him run.

To the bars.

Swing.

Thru the loops.

Time for a little gig.

"Wait is that another handsome guy with big hair, dancing with me"

He finds him again and dances with his shadow.

Watch me move.

Off the big red mat to the floor for ball time. "Catch it Mummy."

"Look a monkey."

Bubbles in the air.

The bubble he caught there almost survived, until it was eaten. ZAY

A stamp to say farewell, Bye bye beasties it's time to get your stamp.

Easy Homemade Finger Paint great for Toddlers

2012-08-08T12:33:00.001-07:00

Homemade Finger Paint Recipe Great for Toddlers.

The things you will need:

small jars or containers

1 cup flour

2 tablespoons salt

1 1/2 cups cold water

1 teaspoon sugar

Coloring: food coloring

Here I used old baby food jars to store our paint. This time I started off with 5.

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and mix on medium heat until a smooth liquid.

To get an even smoother texture whisk the mixture before placing into your containers.

Once in the jars, place a few drops of food coloring. Cap and shake to build your colors. We love the count down and shake for the magic color. Store remaining paint in the refrigerator.

Finger painting wasn't his thing so we used q-tips as paint brushes. :)

24 months breastfeeding still confusing most Americans- Post #100

2012-08-06T12:57:00.003-07:00

In the beginning of my breastfeeding journey, if you asked me how long would you be nursing/breastfeeding? I would not have answered at the least 2 years. Due to the way those in public stare and look at you(while being cover). How there isn't any where in my area to nurse out in public. How I would be questions by a select few on when am I going to wean or stop because he has teeth now.

I am happy to say I wouldn't change a thing. Breastfeeding was kind of tough in the beginning, but now we are both pros. To my 100th post, being able to breastfeed period has been a blessing. Mummies keep up the good work and don't listen to the haters. Love ya1

Our family vaction to Disney (Magic Kingdom) in Orlando, Florida

2012-08-05T10:10:00.001-07:00

It all started with the idea let's go to Disney. Then it quickly went to let's get passes, and here we are today. We are Disney pass-holders and loving it.

The kids were super excited and so were we. Here are a few highlights from our first trip as a family to Disney's Magic Kingdom in Orlando Florida.

The trip seemed so long from the hotel which was minutes away, the birthday princess couldn't wait. Not sure if she was prepared for the walk ahead.

As we were approaching I took this pictures to show how their were posted signs and lights that said no stopping when arriving to the front gates. Guess the only pictures you will get of this is from our car.

At the gates the parking guy was so nice to us. Here parking was $14.00 and was good at all of the parks for the day.

Because of the stroller having to be folded up we took the ferry over to magic kingdom.

Here I tried to get a picture of how visitors throw money once docked on the ferry. On our next trip, we want to be sure to bring a few coins with us.

Since it was Zee's birthday a lady told me about the birthday buttons and once we were in the park we headed over to the gift shop and they personalized a button for her. We were given the I am celebrating buttons. Little man refused to be pinned instead he was happy with holding them along with his first time button.

Our first looks within the magical park.

I told them to smile, but they insisted the sun was in their eyes.

One of our favs the Dumbo circus ride.

The mad hatter's teacups, Zee's favorite because she could spin me until I was sick.

This is a picture inside It's a Small World, where there are coins thrown also along the wait lines.

Inside a It's a Small World.

So soothing it put baby boy to sleep.

This is stroller parking. Our stroller didn't really stand out well so next we will bring some form of attachment so it won't take us so long to find our stroller. Like a bright colored scarf.

A high view of the family treehouse.

Jasmin and Aladdin in their greeting spot.

The ducks that line the gardens.

Found a great spot to watch to mid-afternoon parade.

Our trip to the Magic Kingdom was a glorious day. Filled with fun and unexpected excitement. Since this trip, we have been back numerous times and participated in they special events. The Star Wars had to Pop's favorite.

A special thank you to all of the cast members who made special greetings to Zee on her birthday.

Happy Birthday Princess!

Hot Pink Wonders

2012-01-27T03:21:00.000-08:00

Well, Baby Girl has broken her arm and couldn't look any cuter in her highlighter pink cast. This all started from a simple ride on a new type of scooter. Its true what they say about those things. That they could be very dangerous, you just never think that would be your child.

At the doctors' office she had the choice of neon green, hot pink, red, blue, and dark purple. And you guessed it, she loved the bright pink color. It looks so cute and Baby Boy thinks it is so cool.

Get well soon Zee, and rock that cast in style.

Random Ish Wednesday

Oh, that poor drum

Baby Boy has found new way to play with his drum. It was standing on top but I love the idea of being in it.

A fresh freezer. Ice pops, a mystery steamer, ice cream, and Fresh blended juice left in the freezer. I didn't think about how having less in your freezer makes for fresher eating.

I love this video someone posted on Facebook. This just goes to how babies are so smart. This video was posted 2 years ago but just classic.

Juiceman Juicer Review

2012-01-11T03:52:00.000-08:00

One of my Christmas gifts was a Juiceman juicer. Since that wonderful day I have juiced many different drinks. It has become a hit and apart of the new family drinks.

I have used:
whole carrots
apples
mangos
strawberries
kale
grapes
and pears

There are no limits when it comes to fruit and veggies to juice but 3. Coconuts, bananas, and avacodo, because they have limit juice and will clog your juicer.

One of my favorite things is how easy it is to clean. There are practically 3 parts to clean, and they can be cleaned by mostly rinsing off.

Here he is my Juiceman juicer.

Today I am juicing 3 small apples, 2 carrots, and some kale.

Here is how it breaks down into 5 pieces. you have the lid, the strainer/blades, the pulp container, juice container, and the base.

Let the juicing begin.

Once you are done there your pulp left. It is easy to rinse off and you have to scrape your strainer/blades with the brush that is included.

I feel bad whenever I throw away the pulp. If you know any links or a recipe for the pulp, please Iwould love to know.

And your juice in all its glory. A little less than a pint.

If you like this post, click the link below. That's it. Thanks much.

Can your baby survive without a noon day nap?

2012-01-10T03:41:00.000-08:00

Can your baby survive without a noon day nap?

yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. For my son yesterday was the first day. We have always wondered, since he fits naps so hard, how long would he last without one. He woke up around 7:30 am and fell asleep on my lap sitting up last night sitting up watching tv around 8:00 pm. This was crazy. He was so sleeply and faught it so hard, that if he would have stopped moving for 1 minute more or less after 5:00, he would have dropped.

His naps are important to me for his health and growth. But for Mommy too. Mostly for my blog and craft time. What Mommy doesn't find that one thing to do when their little one naps. Okaaay, Mommies you know what I mean.

So, today I will sit him down, meaning baby boy, and teach him the importance of a nap. For himself and Mommy, because yesterday was hard.

A few peeks into the world of nap time:

• Adequate sleep is important in brain development. Some research has shown that daytime napping may help move new information into a more permanent place in a child’s memory.
• Napping can affect nighttime sleep. A child who needs a nap but does not get one can become overtired and have trouble falling asleep at night.
• Studies have shown that children who nap have longer attention spans and are less fussy than those who do not nap.
• A child’s biology dictates that a nap is necessary after midday, when energy levels tend to drop. (Adults feel the same way, but sleep is not usually an option for them.)
• Sleep releases stress-fighting hormones.
• Napping can help a child catch up on sleep if their previous night’s sleep was disrupted.

So for heaven's sake a nap is in order today right after lunch.
