Please vote for the Fox8 Best Business "hot list" for a really amazing "Love 2 Dance " studio.

I was familiar with Andrea Love, owner of this great LOVE 2 DANCE studio because my daughter Caitlyn, has taken tap, ballet, and tumbling there since she was 4 years old. Any instructor who could get a class of some 20 or so girls to follow directions and do the same thing at the same time, had a gift!

It wasn't the health benefits of dance that caught MY eye for ME. As a woman with a few too many years in a corporate pressure pot, it never occurred to me what a benefit dance might be for a busy professional with too much on her mind.

Nooooo it was the sparkly pretty turkish belly dance outfit displayed in the tiny gift shop. OOOH sooo pretty. Andrea suggested I check out the belly dance classes, I laughed it off. OHHH Andrea if you only knew I had too much belly for this! Andrea encouraged me to check it out. The benefits would have much farther reaching benefits than just fun and sparkly outfits. :D

I found myself anticipating Zumba classes and Belly Dance Classes over 4 times a week. Health improving, optimism improving, energy levels improving. My neighbors and I really enjoy this!

WE LOVE 2 DANCE!

My Daughter, Caitlyn, takes Ballet, Tap, and Tumbling at Love2Dance with Andrea Love for some time now... Well any teacher than can get 13 or more toddlers to listen and follow instruction, had my rapt attention!

My friends and I started Belly and Zumba classes at Love2Dance Studio.. alive with rhythm and expression, a month ago.. dancing was way fun and we enjoy classes of variety- 4 times a week. Energy is great, endorphins are inspired, and in a month, I lost a full dress size and had WAY fun doing it.

Today, instead of belaboring Punxatawney Phil Seeing His Shadow... We usher in a new era of creative, environmentally thoughtful productivity and creative FUN life works. Be part of the movement! 6 more weeks of winter... How much time could you gain by celebrating the freedom of deliberate productivity and the can do spirit? How much energy could you save by donating one day at the office to working from home getting the same stuff or MORE done ?

We are celebrating Working From Home In Footie Pajamas as a movement towards choosing for one day a week to be gentle on our selves, yet practical with the work we are to do.

TIPS:

Pick and plan in advance the work that will be accomplished during that day.
Put the challenging favorite "do it 'later' items in the mix.
Remember you are gaining time you would not have spent Driving and Dressing.
No WFHIFP with no planned and intended results for the day. WFH requires some level of productive working from home, with an intent for progress-- so it's about comfort, and productivity.

GUIDING RULES:

Its NOT about just not getting dressed.
Its NOT about watching tv and relaxing while answering phone and email.
It IS about deliberately working comfortably getting things done.
It IS about taking a day to rest the environment, the workload, and the wardrobe and just get things done.

QUESTIONS:

Must I wear Footie Pajamas? YES, Work from Home In FOOTIE PAJAMAS is for a reason. You can substitute flannels and funky slipper socks, but this is about warm snuggly pajamas. None of this pretty lacy numbers either.. Warm.. Comfort. Practical!
Can I change into clothes to take the kids to the bus stop-- it is winter out? Yes you may. But consider some of the liberating alternative options too. Footie pajamas will fit nicely into a pair of winter crocs, pair that with a funky scarf, hat and mittens and a long coat and you can stay toasty warm, and give the neighbors something to talk about. Wearing footie pajamas all day means you don't need to waste time on socks, foundations, makeup, pants and sweatery layers.. this saves time, energy and conserves on laundry.
Can I shower? Oh come on, tell us you don't ask these questions before you go to work every day? We trust your discretion on this.. Hygiene is important whether in a crowd or home alone. YES Sure you can save time money and energy by cutting back.. but you also might find a late afternoon shower after a productive days work, quite refreshing. Please don't think telecommuters don't brush their teeth.. So brush up on what works best for you.
But I have meetings planned with clients in the office, can I wear my footie pajamas to work? No.
Can I have a rain check on a missed Work From Home In Footed Pajamas Day? Yes, you just have to declare that TODAY is your #wfhifp day and report in at the end of the day with the great accomplishments you have made.

Won't it be exciting when social networkers realize that collaboration IS the network.. It is being involved in our community and fully networked to bring their best and brightest to the issue of creating opportunity, revenue, and well being. Real estate agents, doctors, lawyers, employed and underemployed, using their skills in new and useful ways..

Good news perhaps does not make headlines, however as news of employment loss is on the increase, the need for community to pull together will produce a greater focus of opportunities for each of us to collaborate and make a difference.

What might a community do to respond to tough times with solutions rather than explanations for why the limitations exist? Consider the opportunity to return dignity and unique value from the challenges that face our communities. What could we do with uncommon caring and networking with one another...

To help resolve issues of Healthcare for small business, for laid off percentages of citizens in communities who can not afford insurance, who's employers can not cover the benefit, who's laid off can not pay COBRA, or to get sick, but also can not afford to miss a day of work.
To help resolve issues of Jobs Loss for citizen's who have been laid off, struggling to get a job and competing for a narrower pool of local jobs, while at the same time. Let us reduce the struggle, and increase the success factors. We can buy and sell just about anything on ebay, and yet we have not commoditized a administrative workforce. Small businesses still thrive. Jobs still exist, but the traditional way of doing business probably is not as flexible as we could be by exploring the value of networking our human resources for better opportunity.. How many 1/4 jobs could be pooled to create full jobs? How many administrative tasks or customer service talents, could be offered as a virtual talent.
What could be done for an emerging green workforceto include telecommuting professionals, a mobile or contract workforce? What could that do for jobs construction, jobs gains, and smarter ecological practice?
What business professionals could we bring together to create a solution for the present state that does not force communities to neglect or sacrifice well being because of economic distress? What solutions might we brainstorm by observing the problems and opportunities with inspiration?

We Can Do It: Creating Opportunity

Jobs loss is more than a temporary inconvenience by those affected. While it is accurate to claim that jobs loss is a serious national problem, it would be an oversimplification to suggest that all we need to do is spend and hire more people to solve the ripple affect this problem creates in healthcare, community well being and our economic structure. Let us not wait for Government to care for one another and the problems we can solve. At the local and personal level we need to be also caring about our community in a deeper way than the news might cover.

It is essential for the well being of our nation that we have plans for what we will do at a Federal level, a State level and at a Community, and at a Personal level. President Elect, Barack Obama has released plans for what his administration plans to do for jobs creation.

At the governmental level, whether national or municipal it is easy for a citizen to claim the problem way bigger than them. At a Community and Personal level, it is way harder to claim they can make a difference when the problem affects your family, your friends, and neighbors. Government can sort things like jobs stimulus, tax base analysis, etc.

"Jobs Loss" is a nice glossy label for a much larger issue. Jobs Loss is not just an unfortunate personal inconvenience when it affects the tax base of a community of people who would, if they could, be working today. It is not a function of laziness or desire for welfare dependence that keeps them from returning to productive income... and yet what can we as a neighbor do, to offer really needed relief to those in need, that would do the same for us, were the tables turned...

We are a nation of optimism. We can take a punch and come back stronger. We can rebuild and grow to meet the needs of others.. We can do this because we do not wait for our government to really care that the community we represent is caring for one another and caring to help us recognize our personal best.

Thank you one and all for your noble service-- from all our diversity that makes us a whole nation, with different walks of life. Being a soldier, or the family of active duty military is a labor, for many, the hardship is much greater than inconvenience of "what to do with the kids" while you are at work. This can be a choice, filled with hardship and a myriad of physical, mental emotional and financial difficulties that affect both the veteran, and their respective family-- issues of housing, healthcare, employment, and paying the bills takes on a new dimension for active duty and service veterans.

ABOUT

GENNESARET : Founded in 1986 to provide long term housing for homelss two parent families. Gennesaret also operates a family nutrional center providing free hot meals on Tuesday and Saturday to needy families and individuals within the community.
HOMELESSNESS FACTS: In 2007, the National Alliance to End Homelessness reported approximately 744,313 people experiencing homelessness in January 2005. An Urban institute found that in 2000, 39% of homeless people are children. Some recent foreclosures and job looses have contributed to an increase of homeless families, struggling for much more than work and shelter as the weather grows cold. An Ohio Department of Development study suggests a direct relationshiup between family poverty being worse than national averages due to the direct association between family poverty rates and the inequality of family income

Today I registered for the 17th Annual Gennesaret Home Run for the Homeless. What a wonderful way to really connect with the community. Gennesaret is an innovative all volunteer nonprofit corporation where event proceeds go directly to help those who are in dire financial straits with family housing and nutrition.

Last year I ran the race with a goal to finish, and still be breathing. Funny how the universe reminds you with a sense of humor what you say when you talk to yourself. I finished the 4 mile, in cold and snowy weather barely breathing because of cold stress induced asthma. Okay so a 15 minute mile is not blazingly incredible, but it was the idea of finishing when I wasn't sure I could, that appealed to me.

This year I run the roadrace, my second since surgery, with a goal to finish with an average 11 minute mile. I will finish with gladness, with gratitude, and with joy for my health that is improving every month. I will celebrate on Thanksgiving day the optimistic and promising improvements over the last year.

Early Voting in America's Political Election is already reaching epic 'record' proportion. As of Monday October 27, approximately 30 states are allowing early voting or absentee ballots.

Millions have already cast ballots by Tuesday October 28 for the 2008 Presidential Election, 2 American astronauts have even cast early voting calls from out in space.

It is Better than We "Think" it Is

Inspired by the October 7, 2008 session by Abraham on the World Financial Crisis and the Law of Attraction.

The power of desire to lead and serve is growing.
Our talent and well being is, as it always has been, our own decision and responsibility. Lean not so heavily in an election spin cycle that you hold yourself out of vibrational alignment with the good that could exist, if only we will take those simple steps to claim them.

Too often we forget to focus on what is important to us. There is what is right, because it is right.

Not because it improves "electability"

"Sides" of a situation create group think..
If you are thinking with a group, let us make certain that group of thinkers share your belief in creating worthwhile thoughts and values.

True talent can not be robbed, stolen, taken, or removed from your person without your talent. And yet when we start to believe a popular reality as fact, we start to act in ways not conducive to the talent we possess.

Hero Profile; Elena Gerin

Dictionary.com defines a Hero:
a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal:

Our six year old neighbor was rescued on July 28. This September 2008, Copley Ohio Township's Board of Trustees Honor Five Individuals for Heroism in a July 28 drowning rescue incident .

Perhaps in "her mind" it was all in a days work... but One of the Five heroes, Elena Gerin (in photo), was the next door neighbor who happened to be in the right place at the urgent time. It was a team effort where everyone's swift training and willing action made the difference between life and death.

Elena teaches advanced CPR and with the swift thinking of a few key individuals, trained to make a difference, a little girl lives, where without such action, she most probably would have perished.

This was a life event well worth noticing. We got to talk about what it means to be a hero to our kids, from real life example. Smart, with impressive credentials is not enough to be a hero, still requires willingness to summon the knowledge, the courage, the resolve, and integrity to succeed.

How to choose to be a hero? Be ready to help. knowing CPR, without a willingness to keep skills current to apply it is not enough. Being ready to help, and able to do what is require regardless of the situation is the very notion of embodied heroism. What can be more important than breathing for a grade school aged child until they could breath for themself? What if that child is your own, or your neighbor, or your child's friend? Being ready to help, knowing CPR, and not letting emotion get in the way is also essential to the nobility of heroism.
