The early autism signs in infants start to appear as early as six months but typically infants are diagnosed only upon reaching 3 years old.

It is important for parents to be aware of the early autism signs in infants. Early identification is important so that interventions can be implemented and parents can also seek advice and help from experts and from autism organizations. Babies suspected to have the disorder should be observed further and must be checked by pediatricians or autism experts. Early intervention is important to the success of the different treatments for children with autism. This is the reason why it is best for parents to know the early autism signs in infants.

Here are the 4 early autism signs in infants every parent must know:

Unusual interaction with others
This is the most common of all the early autism signs in infants. Autism impairs the social development of a person. Hence, babies with autism have an unusual way of connecting with others. Upon reaching 6 months, normal infants can already interact with others. This is the period when they start smiling, pointing objects of interest, babbling, and making eye contact. On the other hand, autistic infants do not smile as much and have unusual gestures and facial expressions. It is also apparent that they look at other people differently. Their gaze tends to be brief and out of the corner of the eye. They also do not want to be cuddled as much even by their own parents and prefer to be alone than with other infants.

Have a repetitive and restricted behavior
Autistic persons have difficulty in adapting to changes. They like doing things the same way and eat the same type of foods for a long period of time. They also develop a fascination over a single object, toy, or pattern. It is also evident when they display strange repetitive movements. They like banging their head, rocking their body, and flapping their hands. Some of these movements can inflict self-injuries.

Lack of interest in the surroundings
Several studies conducted showed that babies with autism react differently when confronted with certain situations. When presented with a toy, they display less enthusiasm and less effort in grabbing it. Instead they become conscious and stare at the object differently. Other signs include not responding to one's name and are unaffected by audible changes in the environment. This is why autism is sometimes associated with hearing disorder.

Extremely irritable mood
Infants with autism often have difficulties controlling their emotions. They cry and get irritated a lot. Although they are disinterested in their surroundings, there are times when they easily get provoked even by the slightest sound. They also get irritated even if their parents are cuddling them or even if they are just playing alone.
If you observe most of the early autism signs in infants in your own child, it is best if you consult a pediatrician or an expert immediately. The effects of autism can be minimized by adopting early intervention programs.
It will usually manifest in children and continue into adulthood, with affected persons showing impaired communication skills, social interaction and frequently showing a restraint in areas if interest.

Most of the boys will be the sufferer of this than girls, and sometimes it will be so mild that it cannot be detected as Asperger's, the injured person have to lead his whole life with the rest of the prople around him/her who consideres then as unconventionals. Persons will usually have lack of social skills, struggle to interact with the rest of the community and also, these people will have a obsessive interest in any of the specific topic that is so all-occupying that to the rest of the world, they may not be seen having Aspergers, but simply as odd people who are self fascinated and who are too fanatical on a specific subject matter.

Here are several eccentric symptoms which will be there in Asperger's:

1. Once the child learns to talk, you will begin noticing that, they will be always talking without any end. They will not even care that there is someone who is interested or listening to what they are saying. In a neurotypical child, they take your attention before they speak - they go as far as to touch and shake you so that you can listen to what they have to say.

2. They might seem not to bother about others thoughts - another baby falling or hurting themselves does not produce sympathy or mercy in the child. They will look like disconnected and not to care, a sign that prolongs into adulthood.

3. Communication basics, like facial expressions, eye contact, and change in voice tone or posture are often lacking. They can not show excitement or unhappiness or any alternative vary of emotions through their faces normally.

4. They'll lack a sense of humor. At round the age of two or three, most youngsters will start to understand humor, mock things or build themselves the article to be laughed at. A kid with Asperger's may appear to seek out nothing funny - in the same way that they will not show excitement or sadness.

5. Their voices, once they speak, are typically flat. In most individuals, tone variation may be a subconscious inborn quality. With Asperger's, it appears never to develop.

6. Poor motor co-ordination. They move clumsily, they fall over easily and tasks that different youngsters at their age otherwise perform with ease may be troublesome or maybe not possible for them relying on the severity.

7. They have a rigid posture - they seem to lack flexibility. Until they are virtually teenagers, children are literally "all over" if they're developing well. With Asperger's, even their gait looks too rigid; they seem to make a massive effort to own correct posture.

Asperger's by itself will go utterly undiagnosed. This means that it's attainable that a private might live with it for all times without diagnosis. As a parent, all you'll be able to do is sit up for developmental milestones, especially those listed above.

About the Author
Keep in mind that Asperger's does not have an effect on speech development or intelligence, so it is the other signs that can be telling. I've read everything from "I can't believe I haven't found this sooner, but am so thankful that we have it now," to "Since he has been on the diet, he is a completely different child." No doubt, testimonials like that are encouraging. But, as parents, it ultimately falls on us to make educated and informed decisions about what will be best for our family and our children in the long term. It is our responsibility to weigh the pros and cons for ourselves.

Here are two things that should be considered before implementing a diet this restrictive.

1) Perhaps the most important thing to consider when making the switch to a Gluten-Free Casein-Free Diet. is the lack of scientific research currently available to support the testimonials you'll find. While a lack of conclusive research is not enough to deter many parents eager to find something or anything that might help their child; it stands to be noted. It may be some time before researchers can definitively connect the dots between diet and autism in this way.

2) This diet isn't just a menu change-it is a commitment to a new way of life.
Gluten and casein are found in an exhaustive list of foods. Thankfully, as awareness grows, recipes and products are becoming more widely available-with many local and chain grocers now stocking gluten and casein free items.

Autistic children do see the world a little differently, and it is important to recognise the signs of an autistic child and to learn how to best see to their needs and encourage their development.

Autism is more common in babies than we might think, although it is often very difficult to recognise the signs in very small infants. It is usually not until the baby is about a year old that many parents see that there is anything different about their child's behaviour. As with many things however, the sooner that the signs are recognised and addressed, the better it is for all concerned.

Babies with autism can show unusual behavioural characteristics from a very early age, rocking and head banging are very common, and although many babies who do not suffer from autism can share this behaviour, an autistic child will do it much more frequently and persistently. An autistic baby will often show great interest in anything which is shiny and bright, but will show no interest at all in people or human contact. There eyes will often have a glazed over expression, which can be one of the first tell tale signs you should notice.

Autistic children are often mistaken for children with hearing problems, but it is not that they cannot hear you, it is simply that they are disinterested and therefore do not react to the sounds. It is unusual, for example, for an autistic baby to react to their own name, even though this is quite an early event in the development of many children.

If you child is diagnosed as autistic, do not despair. It is still possible to integrate them successfully into daily family life. Because of their disinterest, they often have very poor social skills, but this is something which you can help to develop by following a few basic strategies.

Autistic children are very visual learners, they learn by what they see, therefore it is important to play in a very visual way with your child. By playing extremely animated games, including lots of nursery rhymes and action songs, playing 'Simon Says' and other games which involve lots of visual movement, you can help to keep your child's attention and develop their skills. Remember to have fun with your child, the more fun it is, the longer they will keep focused and the more they will learn.
They are characterised with communication problems and have shorter attention span due to which they can't focus much. Kids treated with MMR vaccines were said to develop autism and become autistic. MMR vaccines are injected to fight against rubella, measles and mumps in children. This is given at the age of one year and later again, before the kid joins school at around 4 years of age.

Recent studies revealed that MMR vaccines led to Autism. Those who are suffering from such a syndrome have faced bowel problems. Lot of these kids are now suffering from inflammatory diseases of the gut or the bowel. These vaccination have now got to be known as autistic enterocolitis. But this is subject to a lot of controversy and no one is clear with substantive evidence that it leads to Gastro intestinal problems or any developmental disorders.

They say that MMR vaccines lead to gut problems and this in turn aggravates in to autistic syndrome. Such kids were subjected to reverse vaccine injury in order to nullify the effects of these vaccines. What ever be the cause for bowel problems, you must ensure that your child follows a good diet and life style. Physical activity such as exercise is a must in order to keep your gut in good health. You must be aware of your surroundings, is it really polluted? Be careful about the water you drink. Are there any chemicals that you are coming in contact? There fore getting your gut in good health is important and shaping them right can be done with simple exercises.

Correct your sleep patterns, avoid stress by enrolling into stress relief exercise and also avoid smoking. Eat lower fat food products and do not allow any oil food deposits in your digestive tract. This may augment the situation. Instead eat fibre rich fruits and vegetables, oats and beans, moderate amounts of lean meat, eggs, fish and poultry food. Probiotic rich food such as curds, soya milk, unpasteurised milk and green grains are also essential.

In such a diet regime, no vaccination will affect your gut health. You will not face any side effects from them. Practice right eating habits and your problems will stay at bay. You must eliminate coffee, chocolate, spicy foods, corn, dairy, ice cream. Through a process of trial you can determine what works for you at a moment, and what doesn't. Explore yourself.
And I have also talked about how many children with special needs suffer from the drug like effects on their brain chemistry from the peptides that are found in gluten. Peptides are small amino acid chains. And when gluten is not broken down fully, it can cause an issue where too much serotonin is produced in the digestive tract.

Serotonin is a neurochemical that can affect mood and states of happiness, but it is also influential in learning. For many people, antidepressants are needed to help maintain adequate levels of serotonin. And yet for children with Autism, they may be facing a different problem, they may be producing too much serotonin. Their brain chemistry may not be breaking it down or converting serotonin to its active form. This could contribute to the behaviors we see like self stimulatory behaviors, behavioral issues, obsessive compulsive behavior, attention and focusing problems.

So you see how you can have a build up of serotonin which is not being broken down properly and that is only exacerbated when gluten is eaten. The gluten consumption further stimulates serotonin overproduction in the digestive tract. That serotonin then gets absorbed into the bloodstream and circulated throughout the body. That additional serotonin just adds to the growing pool of serotonin in the body. This can help explain the gluten sensitivity that many children on the spectrum seem to have. You can see how very different this issue is from Celiac disease and why it is set apart from the tried and true methods to diagnose Celiac.

It can be very complicated to understand food sensitivity issues and to understand how food can react in our body. But we understand how in many children with Autism, they cannot fully break down gluten. When that failure occurs, serotonin production in the digestive tract is stimulated. And for many children on the Autism spectrum also have the inability to convert serotonin to its active form. That exacerbates this existing issue of serotonin levels in children with Autism.
One thing that effects some autistic children (though, not all) is problems with visual perception. By using some standardized methods to help improve visual perception, you can give your child the ability to see the world more clearly, making learning and comprehension easier and possibly curbing some behavior problems as well.

Autistic children mainly have problems with sensory overload and distortion. These are some of the same problems many people not suffering from the disorder develop, and so many treatment options have become available. Individuals with autism often find, however, that the sensory overload of the world due to light, colors, contrast, shapes, and patterns, is too much to handle, causing them to act out or shut down in general. This is sometimes a genetic condition that is simply enhanced by the autism, so if the child's parents have trouble with reading or have been otherwise treated for visual perceptive problems, there is a good chance that the child needs help as well.

The Irene Method is one effective way to treat visual perception disorders. This method uses color to create a more harmonized world. You may have heard of these methods if anyone has ever suggested using a color filter over the page when reading to be able to read better and more quickly. This method is proven to work, and if your autistic child is at the maturity level of reading, you may want to try these color filters to see if there is a difference in speed and comprehension. However, it is more likely that your autistic child will benefit from color filters during the entire day, not just when reading. Special glasses have been made using colored lenses to conquer this problem. Not every child responds the same way to every color, so it is a process of trial and error to find out which color is the one blocking the harmful light. You can also choose to use colored light bulbs in your home to help autistic individuals with their visual perception problems.

This method mainly helps children in 4 areas: depth perception, social interaction, learning, and physical well being. The colors help the child determine how far he or she is from an object, and the world becomes more three-dimensional, helping depth perception. Social interaction also improves because the child feels as though he or she is in a calmer world and can more clearly see and interpret facial expressions. The colors make it possible to learn, especially when reading, and overall, the child will feel better, because it helps reduce headaches and dizziness. By testing this technique and others to help visual perception problems, you can help your child better cope with the world and his or her autism.
This includes not only inappropriate outbursts, but also habits that can be potentially dangerous, such as being aggressive towards others or causing harm to themselves, such as banging their heads off walls. To prevent these and other behaviors, one technique parents and educators can use to control autistic tendencies is self-management. Giving the child power over him- or herself is often the key to keeping control over violent situations and may be a positive step towards learning other behaviors as well.

Self-management works because the child is no longer fully controlled by others. By teaching self-management during specific times of day, such as while the child is at school or therapy, the child will be more likely to continue to practicing self-control during all times of the day. The key is to implement a program in which he or she monitors his or her own behavior and activities. Begin with short amounts of time, and continue to monitor the child from a more passive standpoint. Every ten to fifteen minutes remind the child that he or she is in control and needs to monitor and be aware of good and bad behavior.

This monitoring is a form of self-evaluation. When a child is in control, he or she may think more closely about behavior in the past and present. Set clear goals with the child-for example, an afternoon with no aggression towards others or a day at school with no self-injury. Every fifteen minutes ask the child how he or she is doing. Is the goal being met? If the answer is no, perhaps the child is not ready for self-management, or perhaps the goals are too unattainable. You want to make sure that the goals are easy to reach at first, and then move the child towards more difficult goals in the future. When a child is successful at self-monitoring, he or she will have a more positive attitude towards the experience.

Of course, an important part of self-management is a rewards system. Have the child come up with his or her own reward, depending on interest. Reinforcement will make these good behavior goals more clearly marked in the child's mind, and by choosing and rewarding him- or herself, the child will feel completely in control of the self-management system. Choose simple rewards to start, such as smiley faces for every goal met and sad faces for every goal not met, and work up to a larger goal, such as a special activity or new toy when a certain amount of smiley faces has been attained.

These types of programs do not develop overnight, so it is important that you and the child have enough time to devote to a self-management experience. By reinforcing good behavior with rewards, as determined by the child instead of by an adult, he or she will be more likely to carry this on even when not participating in the program. If your autistic child is mature enough, this could be a good treatment program to try.
I have also discussed the topic of how serotonin can be influential in learning, brain function, mood and states of happiness. That is one reason why many individuals take medications like Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft, they are drugs called serotonin reuptake inhibitors. And these individuals need these medications because their serotonin levels become depleted and they suffer from depression. What appears to be happening in many children with Autism is that they have enough serotonin production but their body is not converting the serotonin into its active form. When serotonin is not converted properly you can see adverse effects on many of the issues we see in Autism like language, eye contact, self stimulatory behaviors, and behavioral issues.

There seems to be a problem with an enzyme in the brain called MAO-A or monoamineoxidase A. When MAO-A is not working properly it compromises the conversion of serotonin to its active form, which is what appears to be happing in some children with Autism. But a therapy called reserpine, an Indian herb used since the 1950's, has been showing promise. It aids this process in children with Autism by boosting levels of MAO-A and therefore it helps with those core issues seen in Autism. And a new therapy called Respen-A, which is a homeopathic form of reserpine, has been showing good benefits. It is a patch that is worn and many are seeing some of those core issues like eye contact, attention, focus, self stimulatory behaviors, language, and sensory seeking behaviors being improved with its use.

As more research is done on this complex disorder called Autism, we learn more about the complex brain chemistry and what potential therapies can help. And the area of serotonin and MAO-A activity is proving to be of great interest. And Respen-A seems to be a therapy that can help with this connection by aiding the conversion of serotonin into its active form and helping some of the core issues we see in Autism.
These behaviors can include the inability to interact socially with other children, repetitive behaviors and very poor verbal skills that do not match the level of other children in their age group. While exhibiting these behaviors does not always mean that a child is autistic, it is something that should not be overlooked. Most children will begin to show signs of autism before they reach the age of three, making them sometimes hard to differentiate from a normal child who may be slow in developing.

Many physicians tend to shy away from diagnosing children with autism at an early age. It is believed that many children are given such disorder labels far to early, causing them to be grouped into a certain category and not being allowed to experience the same life situations that other children would. Children do develop differently and not every child is going to go through the same changes at the same time. However, it is important that these behaviors are not overlooked.

While it is important not to diagnose a youngster as an autistic child too early, because of the possibility of error, it is also important not to miss certain symptoms of this disorder and therefore not diagnose it at all, which could be completely detrimental to the child. Early detection will allow parents to address the problems that their child may have and help them to get the services for necessary intervention. There are certain signs for parents of autistic children to look for. Does the child respond to their name when spoken by a parent or caregiver? Most babies are responsive to familiar voices calling their names and will respond with a look or a smile. Does your child imitate other people? Children love to mimic movements, such as sticking out their lounges and making waving movements. If a child is not showing signs of doing this, then it may not be time to panic, but it also might be autistic behavior that you should mention to your child's physician.

It is important, even at an early age, to watch for delays in development. The first thing that you should do, if you become concerned in what you are seeing, is to consult with the child's physician. They can give you information about exactly what to look for in children with autism. They can also let you know if they feel that the child should be tested for the disorder. While the doctor might not feel that testing should be done while the child is so young, at some point the need for testing will most certainly become apparent.
I want to take a moment to talk briefly about some of them now. We generally consider probiotics to be useful, life promoting organisms that feed our digestive tract what it needs. Probiotics also serve to aid in the utilization of very necessary vitamins and minerals in the digestive tract. These are all critical for the proper functioning of our digestive tract. Probiotics are also very useful for stimulating the immune system that is found in the digestive tract along. Probiotics also help with fighting off pathogens such as yeast and bacteria in the gut. So a multi-flora probiotic would be very useful for that specific purpose. Probiotics with different forms of acidophilus or bifidobacter bacteria are known as a multi-flora probiotic. Multi-flora probiotics function as sort of a multi-vitamin for the digestive tract. Some examples of multi-strain probiotics are Probiotic Support Formula, Therbiotic Complete is another example and Multi-Flor Spectrum is another example. The Probiotic Support Formula can be found at New Beginnings Nutritionals, Therbiotic Complete is from Klaire Labs and Multi-Flor Spectrum is through Kirkman

There are also probiotics that support specific treatments and they are known as treatment specific probiotics. A treatment specific probiotic is one that will be used for a specific purpose or for the treatment of a certain issue. One such treatment specific probiotic is a probiotic called Culturelle. Culturelle is a probiotic that is a certain type of acidophilus known as acidophilus GG which targets a certain type of bacteria called clostridia. Clostridia bacteria can have many forms and the acidophilus GG will go after these forms of bacteria. So Culturelle can often be my first probiotic recommendation when I see elevated markers on a stool test or an organic acid test in a child with special needs. Using Culturelle as a probiotic can be a long term therapy designed at helping to control clostridia bacteria. I will explore more in-depth other probiotics for use in different situations in part 2 of this video series on probiotics.
Most of these individuals have a way of interacting with objects or events, with their behavior, that does not relate to the objects or events. The result is, abnormal relationships to objects and events.

Most individuals with autism will become upset, if the objects or schedules are changed. For example, if your child is familiar with taking a certain stuffed toy to bed with them and it is changed to another stuffed toy, the individual may become resistant, difficult to manage. This could also happen, when the routine of bedtime is changed, and the need for knowing what to expect or predictability, is changed, or challenged. This is considered to be an abnormal relationships to objects and events.

It has been viewed, that children with autism do much better, when there are no changes, routine stays the same, events and objects stay the same. This kind of life-style that the child with autism has, when predictability is present, puts stress on the parent(s), and the rest of the family. They too, become resistant, frustrated and challenged by this behavior.

There have been discussions and thoughts, that when a child with autism, chooses the same predictability, they are attempting to control, manage and predict what they want from their parent(s), but the child is, also out of control.

To have a healthy growth and relationships, that are not with objects and events, a child with autism can be taught, that there will be changes, schedules will change, environments will change and objects will change. Therefore, abnormal relationships to objects and events will become normal and less stressful.

Another area to consider with individuals with autism, is their play time. Some do not play at all. They do not want to interact with play objects, such as cars, trucks, dolls or other toys. This is an abnormal relationship to objects and events.

In addition, they may go out to dinner with their family and it is a different place, not the usual one they go to, which is routine, which may cause the child to have an anger outburst, be resistant, become hard to handle, because it is not scheduled. This again, is to be considered abnormal relationships with objects and events.

With patience and understanding, that your child needs to grow and be taught, to have healthy relationships to objects and events, by making changes. This will happen in their life and yours. You as parent(s) must not allow your child to control you, because your child does not like the changes being made with objects and events.

Encouragement, treatments, with individuals with autism, will direct a positive way for your child, to be taught that changes with objects and events can be enjoyable. Never give up on them!
I have several children that I see in my practice who are facing regressions after the holidays and it is very hard on them and their families. You wonder why children who are progressing very well with eye contact, with language and with increased socialization suddenly regress and lose eye contact and language and begin engaging in more self stimulatory and sensory seeking behaviors.

With the holidays, there can always be additional challenges associated with regression. One of the first places I start when dealing with regression over the holidays is with dietary infractions. I always start off by asking parents whether any dietary infractions have occurred with their child. Dietary infractions over the holidays, whether it be gluten or dairy, can certainly contribute to regression when the child is not used to having those items in their system. And if it isn't gluten or dairy, it could be increased sugar and artificial ingredient intake over the holidays that contribute to regression. There are school parties, parties at friends' houses, etc. that can add up to dietary infractions and regression can result. And for children who are sensitive to yeast, additional sugar intake can encourage yeast growth leading to some of those regressive behaviors we see like loss of eye contact, increased sensory issues and self stimulatory behaviors.

Another contributor to regressive behavior is the change that comes with the holidays like changes in school schedule and routine. With school holidays, increased excitement with the holidays and even holiday travel, all of these things can contribute to regressive behavior for some kids. Changes in therapy schedules over the holidays can also cause regression in some children. Children with Autism can be very overwhelmed during the holidays. Any one of these things or a combination can all lead to regressive behavior. To pinpoint the causes of your child's regression, you may need to review the time frame and evaluate the changes that have occurred in your child's diet, environment and routine.

It is one of the critical pieces to helping your child.Replacement behaviors are one of the techniques used with children with Autism. This technique is very successful for parents who successfully use it.

Increasing an autistic child's comprehension of activities and daily tasks that need to be performed daily or even occasionally is one of the most essential needs to build skills such as organization, self help tasks, how to follow directions, and build correct social behavior.

Most people cannot relate to the profound challenges of life with autism. But if this is something you are all too familiar with, you are naturally interested in any type of therapy that has shown promise.

Time-out usually works for most specific behaviors that are unacceptable in children with autism. Many parents, teachers, caregivers agree, that putting a child with autism in a time-out zone, is usually effective to curb their intolerable behavior.People with Autism can be employed and employed successfully.

Just like any other child, a child with Autism will want to get adult's attention. As parents we will want to teach our child acceptable ways to get our attention. Then they will be able to use those behaviors to get other adults attention. Children with Autism already get our attention. The problem is they can often use loud or bizarre ways to get attention. Imagine not being able to speak. Imagine knowing information and not being able to share it or hurting and not being able to tell anyone where. These are some of the reasons communication is so critical to everyone.
It occurs in children before the age of 3 years. It is unclear how genetics plays a role inautism , but is supposed to play an important role. For many years, vaccines such as measles, have an important role to play in the development ofautism, but a new report seems to contradict this. The measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), vaccination is usually for children, which is about a year ago. A second injection was given some years later when the child is about 4 years. About 3% of people who are not vaccinated against measles after the first shot to make the second shot, and is therefore protected from these people. The second dose was introduced in 1990, but the MMR vaccine first developed in the 1960s.

Today, everywhere in the world and is now less than 1% of people used fewer contract measles 30. Reducing those who demonstrated against measles has reduced substantially the number of cases. It is estimated that using the first 20 years of vaccines to prevent more than 21 million Americans were dead.

In 2005, there were only 66 cases of measles reported in the United States. Caused more than half of these cases have been reviewed in a single person has been vaccinated with Romania. He returned to America and has infected 34 people, mostly children, and almost all of them were not vaccinated.

In 1998, a document written in part of Andrew Wakefield, said the relationship between MMR vaccine and autism. The study establishes a link between autism and gastrointestinal problems caused by the MMR vaccine was even worse. He suggested that vaccination should be divided into 3 different doses, but has not shown that the risk reduction associated with the disease association. After completing his studies, there was a decline in immunization reported.

Recently, a study conducted at Columbia University, the United States Center for Disease Control, Massachusetts General Hospital and moved to Ireland at Trinity College, concluded that there is no link between autism and MMR. The scientists took tissue samples from children with gastrointestinal problems and autism. These samples were samples of children with gastrointestinal problems such as failure, a comparison of autism.

A theory paper Wakefield has argued that the measles virus in the intestines can develop and spread throughout the body. By the same procedure as in Wakefield, but with modern technology, scientists have no evidence to suggest that in children. Of the 25 children withautism, only one showed signs of measles virus and autism 13 children are not only one showed signs of measles.

These results are consistent with the initial study to refute Wakefield, but some are not convinced and believe that not only the study of theory and to exclude the possibility that vaccines may play a role inautism.
However, children with autism who do not have the same developmental delays show how social skills disorder, for example, delays can be displayed always at the same time. Most autistic children start showing early signs before they reach the age of 3 years.

The doctors are very reluctant to diagnose a child with autism when they are very young, too. This is mainly because children develop differently and may have different types of behavior at different stages.

There are times when children are labels behavior too early and may lead to lower expectations for the child and reduce the possibilities of participation and experience, which should be given to a child normal. That is why many physicians tend to wait before they label children with autism.

It is important for diagnosis, it is a boy the autistic child too early, since the possibility of error, it is also important not to miss any signs of disease and therefore no diagnosis of what could be very detrimental to the child. Early diagnosis allows parents to resolve problems which may have their child and help them obtain the services necessary to respond. There is some evidence for parents ofautistic children are watching.

Does the child respond to their names when speaking to a parent or guardian? Most babies respond to familiar voices, their names and we will respond with a look or a smile. Does your child imitate others?
Children love to imitate their movements shows motioned to get up and do the moves. If a child has no symptoms so may not have the time to panic, but could be autistic behavior that you should call your doctor for your child.

It is always important to tell your doctor if you suspect your child has symptoms of developmental delay, especially if you think that the delays associated with autistic behavior can. You should know that the doctor did not want to test a very early age to do. If this happens, but the child continues to hold, then talk to your doctor again.

Request for documents and information on children with autism, and some additional research on this disease. The key is to ensure that the doctor understands your concerns and begin to share with you. If your doctor does not seem to be interested in reviewing your child to be able to reach for a second opinion.
If you find that your child has symptoms of autism, this will pose a challenge to you, and you may find that your child is not behaving like other children, in which case you will need to go to your family doctor so that he can assess the child and if he feels the need, he will refer you to specialists in the field who will be able to diagnose and treat your child.

It's estimate that as many as 1 in 150 children have Autism. And it's the fastest growing development disability in the US, increasing in the US alone by 172% in the 1990s. Boys are 3-4 times more likely to get autism them girls. Autism is a complex developmental disorder that shows itself mostly in early years, with delays in skills.Children with Autism generally display difficulties in three main areas:

Communication Skills Behavioral Characteristics Social Abilities
Autism is one of the five pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), which are characterized by widespread abnormalities of social interactions and communication, and severely restricted interests and highly repetitive behavior.

Autism has a strong genetic basis, but autism cannot be single gene mutation. Environmental factors can also cause autism, but the studies are still in very early stages. Certain foods, infectious disease, heavy metals, solvents, diesel exhaust, PCBs, phthalates and phenols used in plastic products, pesticides, brominated flame retardants, alcohol, smoking, illicit drugs, vaccines, prenatal stress are also being studied and researched.

Autism is treatable, and, like other disorder, early detection is key to obtaining timely and effective treatment. The ASA offers several signs to look for inchildren , including "lack of or delay in spoken language; repetitive use of language and/or motor mannerisms (e.g., hand-flapping, twirling objects); little or no eye contact; lack of interest in peer relationships; lack of spontaneous or make-believe play; and persistent fixation on parts of objects."

Many of autism's symptoms are associated with detachment. Children who are affected will not maintain eye contact with others or look at objects, appear unaware when spoken to, and are not communicative. Other signs of autism are an inability to adapt to change in routine and unwillingness for physical contact.
It is important for parents to remember that not all children meet developmental milestones like talking at the prescribed guidelines and that not all signs of autism are necessary to suggest evidence of this disorder need to be present in order to warrant further testing.
In her search for help for her son, Jenny has switched Evan to a gluten free diet, which - along with medication, therapy and supplements - has shown some very positive results for them. Evan, who once communicated no more than one word at a time is now fully conversational and can maintain eye contact - in other words, interacting like a normal child.

The theory is that some people suffer from a receptor sensitivity to glutamate. There are receptors located on the surface of the brain. Those receptors receive information from other chemicals, similar to the way a key works in a lock. So glutamate is responsible for triggering the NMDA receptor in the brain. When the glutamate triggers the receptor, it unlocks the electrical activity in the brain. Then you have the electrical activity in the brain which causes the electrical transmission of chemical impulses, this is all necessary for normal brain function.

Before we proceed any further, let me give you a general definition of autism. Generally speaking, autism is a medical condition that affects the neurological development of young children. The result would be repressed/slower communication and interaction in every day society. Furthermore, autism will cause a child to repeat a series of actions that are driven by motor muscles. These repetitions appear to serve no purpose and is still considered to be baffling by experts since they could potentially injure the autistic.

Symptoms

They could pick on a specific toy and play with the same thing all day long every day, while not even playing in the same way that most other kids would. It is common to find a patient with autism sitting and staring at a wall for long hours or just lining up their toys; they could repeat body movements all the time, and when in distress they could harm themselves by biting or knocking their heads against a wall.

Autistic patients tend to be extra sensitive with certain specific stimuli like sounds, sights, smells, or textures. They could hate the smell of new clothes... bad enough to never want to touch them. They might also dread the sound of falling rain... enough to freak out screaming when they hear it. Often they appear to be mentally retarded, but this has been proven to be non-generic; however, they do tend to have intellectual abilities that have been professionally put down as the savant syndrome.

Communication: This is and can be quite a tricky issue. The reason is because there are many different characteristics where communication is involved. Common communication symptoms in autistic children can vary from one who are not able to communicate with any clear audible words from the very beginning to one with excellent skills, repeated phrases/words to one who starts off as being able to speak and communicate normally before experiencing problems during later stages. Classic autistic children communicate by using their hands and other bodily movements as opposed to actual words in general. On top of this, they also tend to repeat words and phrases that they are familiar with and those that might otherwise come across as odd to normal individuals.

1. If a baby does not look you in the eye, does not look intently at toys, or will not search with their eyes when their name is called can be an early warning sign of autism. 2. A baby who shows no facial emotions, such as grimacing or exuberance or anger or fear. 3. A baby who doesn't mimic your actions, whether it's smiling, scowling or waving your hand. 4. A baby who will not try to create consonant sounds, or imitate the sounds you make when you talk to him or her. 5. A baby who is not energized by the objects he or she looks at..

Treatments

Many children with Autism suffer from cholesterol levels that are too low, but there is an effective therapy to help. The focus for years in the medical community has been on high cholesterol. High cholesterol increases our risk factors for things like heart disease and stroke and yet low cholesterol also presents health risks too. Yet most doctors would encourage low cholesterol to help ward off the risk of heart disease. But having cholesterol levels that are too low can disrupt hormone development, as well as have negative effects on the immune and nervous systems.

How can you know if a gluten and casein free diet will help your autistic child? Research has still not shown conclusively how - or if - it works. However, there is no reason not to try it with your child, because there are plenty of good food substitutes for the the foods you would have to eliminate from the child's diet. A gluten and casein-free diet is still a healthy and nutritious diet for your child. One recommendation though, is that you not make a sudden switch, especially in younger children, because it can cause withdrawal and a worsening of autism symptoms. It is better to slowly switch the child from restricted foods and introduce new foods over time. You need to give the new diet at least six months before you can expect to start seeing results.
It is a disability which remains for a lifelong in a person. This syndrome is often described as 'spectrum disorder' since the people can get affected in several different ways and to varying level. Though this syndrome emerges early in childhood, parents ignore the symptoms and never ask - "what is Asperger's Syndrome?".

In truth, Aspergers Syndrome is normally a 'hidden disability'. A person with AS cannot be easily detected with this condition. A person having AS always struggles in three important aspects regarding society namely; social communication, social interaction, and social imagination.

Asperger's syndrome in children can cause lots of problems to the parents if they are not aware of the symptoms of this condition. Normally, a child with AS shows these following symptoms;
1. A child usually fails to understand the body language of others. That child struggles to begin or keep a conversation on.
2. That child may protest against any changes occur in its daily life.
3. That child may show little or no compassion towards other people.
4. That child fails to differentiate between a joke and a sarcastic comment because of its inability in recognizing subtle differences in speech tone, pitch, and accent.
5. That child avoids having direct eye contact with a person or may enforce an eye contact.
6. That child may implement awkward facial expressions or postures during conversation.
7. That child, normally, limits its interest to one or two fields. However, that child may have excellent knowledge in that field. That child may exhibit abnormal interest in certain issues like cars, dolls, or cameras.

These are the few symptoms that a child with Aspergers Syndrome might have. Now you briefly know what Asperger's Syndrome is. You can get more information on other symptoms, causes, treatment regarding this syndrome by clicking here.
