Lunch With GOD

A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with a bag of potato chips and a six-pack of root beer (iron brew in SA context) and started his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old woman. She was sitting in the
park, just staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next to her and opened his
suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old lady looked hungry, so he offered her some chips. She gratefully accepted it and smiled at him.
Her smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered her a root beer. Again, she smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.
As twilight approached, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave; but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old woman, and gave her a hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever.
When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was
surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, "What did you do today that made you so happy?" He replied, "I had lunch with God." But before his mother could respond, he added, "You know what? She's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen!"
Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home. Her son was
stunned by the look of peace on her face and he asked, "Mother, what did you do today that made you so happy?" She replied! "I ate potato chips in the park with God."
However, before her son responded, she added, "You know, he's much younger than I expected."
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening
ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the
potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime! Embrace all equally!

God's delay is not denial
(good story)
Once there was a small kid on earth.
One fine day it came to know that God was distributing apples to humans
in heaven.
The kid was happy to receive the news and it went with lot of enjoyment
to heaven to get the apple from God.
There was a big queue standing to get the apple from God and the
kid also joined this queue.

He was waiting, excited and thrilled at the fact that he was going
to receive the apple in person from God's hands. When his turn
came the kid raised both hands to receive the apple.
God gave the apple but unfortunately the tiny hands couldn't hold the big
apple. The Apple slipped out of his hands and fell in the mud.
The kid was very disappointed.
The ministers near God informed that if the kid wants to receive
an apple from God again then it has to wait in the queue once more.
Having waited so long the kid didn't want to return to earth empty
handed so he decided to wait in the queue,again.
This time the queue had become even longer than the previous one. While
waiting in the queue, the kid could see lot of people receiving apples
with great happiness on their faces.
The kid was disappointed and thought "why I alone couldn't hold
the apple while all others were able to do so easily?What sin
have I committed to suffer like this?"
Also he was scared that he
should not drop the apple again. When his turn came again God gave the
apple in his hands and said,
"My dear child, last time after giving you the apple I noticed
the apple I gave was rotten and that's why I made it
fall from your hands. Having given you a rotten apple, I felt bad for you
and I wanted to give you the best apple in Heaven. At that time the best
apple in the farm was growing and that's why I made you wait such
a long time in the queue. Here it is. Now the apple that you have in hand
is 'The Best' apple in the farm till date. Enjoy."
So, friends, sometimes it happens that even after we put our 100% dedication
and commitment things may get delayed or go wrong. Believe that God has
something better for us and that's why this has happened. Swami Vivekanada
says, 'Gratitude is absolutely the best attitude at all times in one's
life'.
Believe this and view the world... Your world will also look green..

CALL TO HEAVEN

An American decided to write a book about famous churches
around the World.

So he bought a plane ticket and took a trip to China.

On his first day
he was inside a church taking photographs
when he noticed a golden telephone
mounted on the wall with a sign that read
"$10,000 per call".

The American, being intrigued,
asked a priest who was strolling by
what the telephone was used for.

The priest replied that
it was a direct line to heaven
and that for $10,000
you could talk to God.

The American thanked the priest
and went along his way.

Next stop was in Japan.
There, at a very large cathedral,
he saw the same golden telephone
with the same sign under it.

He wondered if this was
the same kind of telephone he saw in China
and he asked a nearby nun
what its purpose was.

She told him that
it was a direct line to heaven
and that for $10,000
he could talk to God.

"O.K., thank you," said the American.

He then traveled to
Pakistan, SriLanka, Russia, Germany and France.

In every church he saw
the same golden telephone with
the same "$10,000 per call" sign under it.

The American, upon leaving Vermont
decided to travel to up to India
to see if Indians had the same phone.

He arrived in India,
and again, in the first church he entered,
there was the same golden telephone,
but this time the sign under it read

"One Rupee per call."

The American was surprised
so he asked the priest about the sign.

"Father, I've traveled all over world
and I've seen this same golden telephone
in many churches.
I'm told that it is a direct line to heaven,
But in the US the price was $10,000 per call.
Why is it so cheap here?"

Think differently and positively.
A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He
held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only
a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped
them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote
some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would
see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to
the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to
see how things were.. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were
you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'

The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a
different way.'
What he had written was: 'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see
it.'

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same
thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind.. But the first
sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they
were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that
the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be
innovative. Think differently and positively.

Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and
love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show
life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without
regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future
without fear.

Keep the faith and drop the fear.

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling.
And even more beautiful, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem
science has with God, The Almighty. He asks one of his new students to
stand and .....

Prof: So you believe in God?
Student: Absolutely, sir.

Prof: Is God good?
Student: Sure.

Prof: Is God all-powerful?
Student: Yes.

Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him.
Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't. How is
this God good then? Hmm?
(Student is silent.)

Prof: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fellow. Is God
good?
Student: Yes.

Prof: Is Satan good?
Student: No.

Prof: Where does Satan come from?
Student: From...God...

Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student: Yes.

Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct?
Student: Yes.

Prof: So who created evil?
Student does not answer.

Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible
things exist in the world, don't they?
Student: Yes, sir.

Prof: So, who created them?
Student has no answer.

Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the
world around you. Tell me, son...Have you ever seen God?
Student: No, sir.

Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student: No, sir.

Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you
ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
Student: No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.

Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student: Yes.

Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says
your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.

Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.

Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Prof: Yes.

Student: And is there such a thing as cold?
Prof: Yes.

Student: No sir. There isn't.
(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega
heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't have anything
called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we
can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is
only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold.
Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of
it.

(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)

Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?

Student: You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You
can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light....But if you
have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't
it? In reality, darkness isn't. If it were you would be able to make
darkness darker, wouldn't you?
Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is
life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the
concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science
can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has
never seen, much less fully understood either one.
To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that
death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of
life: just the absence of it.

Now tell me, Professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from a
monkey?
Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of
course, I do.

Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the
argument is going.)

Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and
cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not
teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The
class is in uproar.)

Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's
brain? (The class breaks out into laughter.)

Student: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt
it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to
the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science
says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then
trust your lectures, sir? (The room is silent. The professor stares at the
student, his face unfathomable.)

Prof: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.

Student: That is it sir... The link between man & god is FAITH. That is all
that keeps things moving & alive.
