Marching Lions, fantastic performance! For those of you who don't know, King High School played a phenomenal show on Saturday at the Florida Bandmasters' Association Marching MPA, taking home a Superior rating.

2011 has been an amazing year for marching band, and you guys really showed it on Saturday. Way to keep it consistent!

Back in Business

Hey Marching Lions! The website is once again up and running (so if you are on the temporary website, you can now check the regular website). Here are some important reminders:

- Fourth number needs to be passed off by Thursday, October 13th. Try and pass it off before then so you don't have to stay late at school passing it off. (and start memorizing fifth number)

- There is an after-school pep rally on Thursday, October 13th, from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. This will be right after practice ends, and food will be provided. You only have to stay for the band performance. Check to work this into your schedule, and if there are any complications, tell Mr. Graham about it as soon as possible.

- Friday is Homecoming game, which means we will not be performing our show at half-time. Instead, expect that we will perform the show post-game. (so if your parents are attending the game, they should expect it to be longer)

- Lion's Pride is next week (October 22nd). Sign-ups for volunteer shifts will begin soon, make sure to sign up. Volunteers will receive bonus points for the 2nd grading period.

- Quarter 1 ends on October 20th, so make sure that you check your grade and pass of your chartbook exercises before then.

Hey Marching Lions! If you are reading this, you have probably noticed that khsmarchinglions.com is down (and you should be practicing!). This is due to an error on the web hosting service's part - which is unfortunately out of my control, but this problem is being fixed. There is no game this Friday, so enjoy your long(er) weekend! Remember, Quarter 1 ends on October 20th, so make sure that you check your grade and pass of your chartbook exercises before then. New stands tunes and filler are available in the "Marching Music" section. Please have your show music, stands tunes, filler, and Mahler printed and ready for Wednesday.

This is the new blog. It replaces the old photo and video pages. (You can still find videos of shows under the show pages.)

You can see a bit of the blog on the home page, but the larger archives are available in the "Blog" area.

Why do we do this?

The videos page is going to get pretty crowded after just a couple of shows.
The photos page was really useless, especially without captions.
Now you get to read stories.
