A piece of work on a MUSIC VIDEO OF LJ MANZANO - MAY FOREVER (2015)

I got a call one evening sometime in May and the number was not registered, but I picked it up anyway because most clients in the Photo studio calls me, surprise surprise! It's my good ole batchmate from Elementary to Highschool - LJ MANZANO. This time, he's looking for a video editor for his new composition. Hearing that, I am thrilled and was hoping this time it would go mainstream.

In the past, I have enjoyed sharing lots of good conversation about music and have collaborated with on maybe 2 compositions he did. I must say he is a very talented person (you should check his Youtube channel to see that). I've learned a good singing technique from him too :D.

We went back and fort on some ideas, and I told him that I would contribute our material for his MV. I went to gather our studio portfolio model, who became close to me and my cousin Dalyne for the scene needed on his new OPM (Original Pilipino Music) video.

Getting in the trend of the social media with #ALDUB concept what the direction of the video and here are the behind the scenes.

TAKE 8! FINALLY!

When I heard this song, for me this is a POPISH JINGLE TYPE with a very relevant issue trending on social media here in the Philippines "MAY FOREVER" (There is forever). This not the novelty type of songs you hear that will annoy you. This is a fun song and something that will cause an LSS (Last Song Syndrome) like most pop songs do.

A lot of his friends also in United Kingdom participated for this video and as of the moment in Facebook, it's around 700 thousand views since it was uploaded on Oct. 10, 2015.

YES! I am proud to be part of this because that guy in the blue stripe shirt beside my songwriter friend LJ - THAT IS OUR BELOVED CITY MAYOR. Hon. Rodrigo Duterte! :D

Doing a cover - I Can't Make You Love Me

Thanks to the talented Bonnie Raitt for the wonderful song I Can't Make You Love Me. It's my favorite for the last fifteen years or so...

Just recently, I wanted to make a cover so LouWorks Studio shot the video for me and when I got the time to edit.... I went ahead and used Cyberlink Powerdirector to put the title and insert the instrumental but when I listened to the original sound.... -- UH-OH the audio was really noisy... the vehicle sound are loud enough and the street traffic noise were all captured, my fault because we opened the window for lighting purposes. This was suppose to be a LIVE COVER but, well not for this.

So, I did plan B which was: SINGING IT ALL OVER AGAIN and hopefully catch the timing of the song base from the treatment I made during the live recording. After 3 takes, here I finally got the closest one to match the movement of my mouth. Here is the work flow of chopping and making it a bit accurate.

I never edited my audio materials before because I had a wonderful and super good audio editor with my previous studio recordings but I learned to do audio editing just with this song... This now my friends is my newest experience in doing a cover song. I don't just learn the song, I learned how to work on Cyberlink PowerDirector which I must say a VERY GOOD software to use for someone doing simple videos. A beginner in audio editing. This is what I have achieved:

The song I love - MASTERPIECE

Singing is always my favorite hobby. It relieves my stress and it 's something I enjoy with my family.

I did a cover song years ago posted here in my blog that was entitled - Just like a Star, and now it's MASTERPIECE by Jessie J.

I loved the lyrics that goes "I still fall on my face sometimes and I can't color inside the lines, no, you haven't seen the best of me, I'm still working on my masterpiece." I am putting an emphasis on it because I think this a good acknowledgement of our growth in whatever area of life we are working on.

We do not master things overnight and for me, despite the thing I have done, I always go into something new for me to learn and go back on the things I need to improve as well.

I would like to give credits to LouWorks Studio for making this possible. Thank you for the time and support and the work you put into this, you are an amazing friend! I look forward to collaborate with you again.

In a nutshell, I enjoyed working with you despite the many adjustment, and it is among the best experiences of my life. I would always be grateful to April Evangelista, Ph.D for trusting me in directing this video.

Among the many things I deal with in the studio is connecting with people. We are again happy to take the photos of these good looking male group. I met three of them way back in 2011, Darwin, Christian and JR. Now, they are popularly known as Y-Fi (Young Filipinos). The group is based here in Davao City, the members of the group are, Darwin, Joemar, JR, Christian and Archie.

Last year (2014), the group competed in the 18th annual World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Los Angeles California.

Here are the list of awards the group bagged during the competition last July 11 to 20, 2014. Infomercial for the Philippine National Police - Region XI

As promised, I will give you the final output of the video we did. Yes, I know it is almost a year now, but this is an information drive in the goal of our city to maintain peace and order. Therefore, I am still sharing this and build recall on the importance making the community safe.

Among the establishments our production house (NJS Photography and Videography) would like to thank for us to make this video possible are the Abreeza Ayala Malls, San Pedro Police Station, Jose Maria College and Davao City National High School.

Among My Favorite Production Projects

Among the most exciting production I did last year, yup! That was last year (some time in August) with New Jersy Studio is the TV Commercial for Region XI of the Philippine National Police. The goal was to strengthen the call for the community to be pro-active in maintaining the peace and order of the region.

We worked on it for one day and a half to shoot a forty-five-seconder video material which are now still playing at NCCC Mall Cinema.

Our New Jersy Studio Production Team side by side with former Region XI PIO of the Philippine National Police SPO4 Inspt. Jed Clamor and with some of the extras who are real civilians.

To all the PNP officers and local police who were patient with me when I directed this, thank you so much for your enthusiasm, support and giving you best to achieve our goal.

To the production crew and post-production team. Thank you for making this happen. It was fun working with you on something that is for a good cause. To the companies that helped us, Abreeza Ayala Mall, and Jose Maria College, thank you too. I will post the link soon.

Hi guys! It's 2013! Thank God! The dooms day prediction have gone wrong and I am so happy that the world is still in one piece. So sorry for being really away for a long time. I am once again posting my new entry here with so much relief from numerous matters and I am excited because I have never written a blog yet that falls on the first day of the year. Therefore, this a new record for me, and thus, I want to start off with the list of the medicines I had for the last seven months of year 2012.

I know, right? My Kidneies had to work double time with all these medicines (except Iodosorb & Mupirocin) . Plus food supplement and my regular vitamins -- Conzace as per doctor's prescription. At my age I never imagined that I could get into these list of drugs.

For the record, I was having the worst experience of being injected with anesthesia that never worked due to the puss, I could actually feel the stitches and I had to endure climbing the stairs after the procedure. Thank God, I also got through it.

I am thankful because despite of the negative events that happened, I believe I am one of the fortunate people who have an easy access to medical help. I hope people can start a great year ahead and continuously praying for strength to keep going. I am still on the road to recovery so I hope 2013 will be brighter for all of us.

Drink Coffee without guilt!

Why I love coconut water

I read the news about the COCO juice on yahoo.com last night and was really happy that this became a recent trend after I visited the doctor yesterday afternoon, which Coconut water became our topic because I was suspecting a Urinary tract infection, after drinking too much of powdered juice last week and ate dried fish.

For us Filipinos, the Coconut water has been too available that we I always get to have Coconut water for free from neighbor hood during summer vacations in our Lola's place. We have several Coconut trees in our farm as well that I always request my dad to bring us Coconut or widely known as BUKO here in the Philippines. Buko juice is a favorite drink for those who have UTI as what I have heard from several nurses around. It may not entirely cure but it for kidney cleansing.

I know that it is a good source of glucose since there are several organic Coconut sugars being sold in the market today and now when I checked several post online, this becomes a good SPORT DRINK! It's wonderful to know that because, every Sunday when the sun is hot here in Davao City, I would make sure I'll get to drink Coconut juice to replenish me and I am happy that the Philippines exports it in parts of Europe too.

Pre-production of Mr. & Ms. Photogenic 2011

Even if it was a holiday yesterday, I was busy with so many things. Being the coordinator for the Mr. and Ms. Photogenic 2011, I needed to beat my deadline. Good thing we learned about the space for us to rehearse and meet at a cheap price at the Region XI Dept Ed, new building.

Seeing teens try to learn and build their self - confidence gives me fulfillment, as I remember that once, there were people who believed in me when I was trying to discover myself. Anyhow, those who had experience in this type of activites get to share their skills and of course was given due attention by those who wanted to learn how to do the catwalk.

This may not be a big production, but the whole point here is to give new faces a chance to be able to grace our photos and maybe in the future they would be models for some Photography workshop around the city that will encourage the community to grow.

Thus, here are the pre-production activities that transpired yesterday.

Enjoying music -My cover song

For the last few weeks, I am happy to reconnect with my childhood friend who became a guitar secessionist in Metro Manila - Jonathan Rex. We spent weekends singing in their house when I was in grade 6 until early high school, where my dad would play blues gospel music. I remember that he played guitar in church when I started to develop my singing skills then. Well, good thing that he is just around town and wanted to do collaborations, so I would like to share this cover song we did three days ago! I hope I did justice! Hehehe.

FOR ADOBE FANS - Awesome Sneak preview

I learned about the ADOBE software, when I first stepped in the Radio Room of Ateneo de Davao University, and that was when I was like 17 years old. I loved the software when I saw the first demo given by Manong E. I think he is still in the Masscom Radio Room up to this day. Well off course, the Adobe Photoshop was in the Macintosh machine, and Adobe evolved so much throughout the years.

Thanks to our Journalism subject that I was forced to use Adobe Pagemaker with no tutorial in year 2000. I was just tweeking on it and goof grief, I was able to manage and figured it slowly, and the rest was history.

Today, I saw this post from Ryan delos Reyes, our video editor - who was also trained in the same Masscom Radio Room. This is a SNEAK PEAK OF ADOBE and I was soo impressed that I think this is ONE of the most Brilliant ideas in the SOFTWARE HISTORY! Hehehe.

HGFF Business Group Ministry's Expo

The month of October was the busiest month of this year. Well, starting off with our church expo as our follow up for the initial livelihood activity we did last July. This time, the HGFF Business Group Ministry was hoping to give exposure co-church ministry to have camaraderie in businesses too. Thus, the theme of the expo was: Doing Business With God. Here are the photos of our first event date.

There were 24 business participants in this first ever church HGFF Business Expo, and we thank you so much for your participation.

This is actually the most fulfilling expo experience I had, with new friends at Mega C, see you again! :D

We hope to be of help give future entrepreneurs ideas, if they are contemplating about what business they could engage in, we want that our ministry can help enlighten them as part of our church guidance, and off course, be a blessing to fellow church members.

Another line-up of activity for the Business Group Ministry monthly fellowship will be a seminar this coming Friday, Oct. 14, 2011.

This is also in line with our desire to help Christian business people to find a good team support and share knowledge so we can improve more and support our church too.

Technology age - My review and remembering Steve Jobs

This morning - I opened my laptop and went to my Twitter and to my surprise: Steve Jobs is dead, and the article was posted at 2 hrs ago. I immediately searched and dial the phone, called my colleague at dreamybunch.com. He just woke up I guess at 9:40 AM, and I haven't had my coffee yet, I told him the tech genius was gone. Today, my work-load is for our website so we have a schedule for an updating.

Fast forward to 3PM, I am at the mall, we grabbed donuts and coffee to set our work on the dreamybunch.com lair. I have not seen the documentary of the information technology age, and viola, here I am watching - Triumph of the Nerd by Robert Cringley - you may learn more at http://www.pbs.org/nerds/. Watching this has always made me go back to the FB status I placed this morning, which I learned from my former business mentor Louella Sopoco-Santiago.
" Thoughts = words, Words = actions, Actions = character, Character = destiny. So, be careful what you think about!"

Well, the looses of few people in the industry where it has materialized to other is a good case study. This is a good example of why POVERTY starts in YOUR MIND. The 50,000 USD was "the deal of the Millenium" as what Cringley call it, pertaining to the the DOS acquisition to beat the CPM program. Another loss from the XEROX as Steve Jobs talked about how it has blinded him when it was presented to their team, now it is Steve Jobs who got the recognition for the MOUSE.

Therefore, the mind of those who GET IT, is richer than those who DO NOT, so your mind is where you start on how you will become rich. The industry was too fast for most people to catch but these people found their passion and did the best out of it.

Recovering sleep and USANA

Right now, I am choosing to recover my sleep again, and I am taking the USANA Optimizer, I am not a USANA dealer, but so far, I do have sound sleep when I started taking the vitamins which comes in two tablets, the WHITE - with chelated minerals and YELLOWISH one - mega antioxidant It is a good product I tell you, because when I visited a friend who is an iridologist, she said I have anxiety, and if I'll take that, it's a pharma grade supplement and it will help boost my immune system too. I don't really think it was coincidence, but yes, I had less sleep for the last two months. So, I am sorry for not blogging much for the last two weeks because I was just trying to get my sleep back. Davao Kadayawan Experience

I was soo busy last week and was not able to update immediately, been working on my new promotion, which just commenced this August. However, I was went to check several events during the Kadayawan Festival 2011, which is a celebration participated by the business sector, the local people or Indigenous People and the Local Government Unit. A lot of events were happening in different malls and the floral trade shows is still happening at SM City until this weekend. I was able to watched the following events and I was glad I saw several parade after me and my bf went to church. The weather was not too hot so I took the time to take document few of it.

I was really happy to see these floats and I would like to say that Davao City's horticulture industry players have really contributed to these floral parades. NO SMOKING ORDINANCE - Travelers are not excused

Davao City's tourist visits have increased over the last two years. Before you deplane on any passenger aircraft upon arriving to Davao International Airport, the announcement will include a reminder "there is a No Smoking Ordinance in Davao City."

The ORDINANCE NO. 043-02 series of 2002 “ THE COMPREHENSIVE ANTI-SMOKING ORDINANCE OF DAVAO CITY “ is one of the most important things one must know when you come and travel to DAVAO CITY.

This was implemented since year 2002 but recently I read in the news that there were two foreign nationals who violated it, and was caught at the Davao International Airport last July 28, 2010. http://www.sunstar.com.ph/davao/local-news/2011/07/28/2-chinese-nationals-nabbed-smoking-inside-airport-169566

The city received an award from Global Smoke-free Partnership (GSP) in 2009 for its strick implementation.

The ordinance prohibits smoking in public places, enclosed areas (hotel rooms, boarding houses, disco houses, videoke bars, resto bars, and movie houses, or any other place with pleasant environment and atmosphere conducive to comfort, healthful relaxation and rest, offering foods, sleeping accommodation and recreation facilities to the public for a fee;), and public vehicle (Jeepney and taxi cabs).

Thus, I suggest, before you come to this beautiful place of Davao, please do follow the ordinance or better yet, ABSTAIN from SMOKING. I think that is doable and it may save yourself from medical expense and from harming others.

Please try to evaluate the pros and cons and I am sure you'll find more health benefits than disadvantages.

BUNCH OF PEOPLE at DREAMYBUNCH.COM

I remember the time my former student sent me a message through chat one night during the month of August last year asking if I know a web programmer.

I suddenly had a feeling that he is up for something wonderful, off course when I was still with Philippine Women's College (PWC), he did great on projects we had in class specifically in creating copy in advertising exercises.

This is a Davao-based online promotion and social networking site for you to easily share your post and not retyping your post to inform your friends on facebook.

Then in December 2010 the domain www.dreamybunch.com went online.

What I find cool about this is, the website allows you to make it as an application in your Facebook account or if you have an e-mail under gmail.com or you are in Google+, you need not to re-apply and reconfirm your account upon signing in. Do try and find cool stuff in here!

At the moment improvement is still going on but please feel free to feedback and send your comments.

SKILL ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM - PHOTO RELEASES

This is the first ever Skill Enhancement Program of the HGFF Business Group Ministry. We had lot of fun yesterday, July 23, 2011 at CORE Learning Center, Inc, sponsored by our President Mr. Carino. Much thanks also to Ma'am Eme, for providing the supplies of the Atsara and to our lecturers, Ma'am Malou Belviz and Ms. Retchel Felarca.

First part was the Yema Making and Second Part was the Atsara Making. It is really a nice experience to be part of this as a volunteer and help others. Truly an experience that gave me the feeling fulfillment, and we are happy to hear your positive feedback on our first and small step to reach out and share our skill and craft.

Atsara or pickled papaya - soaking the grated Papaya with salt.

Yema Making - the classic yema recipe being taught by Ms. Retchel! Thanks Kapatid. I learned something new yesterday.

Our Consultant - Mr. Abel Trinidad (Church Deacon). Thanks for the demo of the electric pan! :D.

Make sure your hands are really clean and no jewelry please while preparing your vegetables, no lotion and wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap, as much as possible something that has no perfume so you won't contaminate the ingredients. Just a tip. :D
