Warner Bro's animated films usually aren't very varied, it's mostly looney tunes, scooby doo and other hanna barbara and DC comic movies like the Justice League, o yea and Osmosis Jones but lets not bring that up. No I'm here to talk about a GOOD movie where Warner Bro's broke the mold, the Iron Giant.
The Iron Giant was an animated science fiction film about a large alien robot lands in a small 1950's town. With a solid voice cast of Harry Connick Jr., John Mahoney (Frasier's dad!), a rare good performance from Vin Diesel, and surprisingly Jennifer Anniston.
The plot revolves around a young boy named Hogarth who discovers a giant robot from space, with the help of a junkyard artist Hogarth hides the robot from a government agent out to confiscate it for the government.
The plot here is brilliantly paced with good action and tension while still taking those pauses for fun humor. All the characters are portrayed with depth and seem believable. A great part of this movie is how it's able to avoid stereotyping its characters and moments, most characters are not onesided. The emotion portrayed in the serious scenes is unbelievable in it's realism.
A great side of this movie is the visuals, made in 1999 the animation has that nostalgic feeling of older disney films while still holding beautiful detail in every scene, the style of animation helps you involve yourself more in the 1550's time period. The animation excels, beyond belief, at it's sense of motion while still holding that classic style of art. To put it simply, as a fan of animation, this is probably one of the best animated films ever, just judging by the visuals. The best scenes in this movie happen between Hogarth and the giant just having fun, for example a trip to a lake. It is amazing how they are able to build a strong character in the giant without having him say many words at all. His facial expressions and actions define how he reacts in certain situations and those forms of reactions stay consistent throughout the movie. This movie parallels E.T. in many ways (parallels, not copies), an alien that is misunderstood and helped by a young boy.
Overall this movie is enjoyable for all ages, it's focused at kids but funny enough and heartfelt for adults. This movie will truly be memorable. I suggest, no matter your age, the next time your free, find the full movie on youtube. I give it a 10/10 (that's right, it's perfect, sure thats a bit of my nostalgia, but whats wrong with people giving perfect scores! I can't find fault in this film)

An original romantic comedy, oxymoron right? For once that's actually a plausibly statement when it comes to the movie, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I realize calling it a romantic comedy is a stretch but really thats only because its actually funny
Jason Segal is our protagonist. When his movie star girlfriend (Kristen Bell) breaks up with him. Not handling it well, Segal decides to go to Hawaii to get away from everything. There he meets Mila Kunis who is working at the hotel. When Segal arrives he discovers his ex has also decided to come there with her new boyfriend, rocker Russell Brand. I won't spoil anything, but from there is where this movie really throws surprises at you. Cast:
Segal, who also wrote this movie, is hilarious, and never gets sappy and barely a joke misses.
Kristen Bell as Sarah Marshall plays a great role because the movie actually shows that she had reasons for what she did, and is a reasonably multi-sided character. Mila Kunis is the true star of this film, being truly hilarious, and of course, really damn hot. Her role is unique how it is portrayed, in that she isn't just the perfect girl Segal goes after. She actually has her own issues and personality. A big part of the humor comes from the supporting cast. Great bit roles by Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, and Jack MacBryor ("30 rock guy") add some comedic depth.
Russel Brand does a good job playing his character. Another role that is more than one sided. Even if you aren't a fan of Brand, he actually doesn't get overly annoying.
Now I must warn you this movies comedy, is alot about sex, literally. The humor isnt too crass and is still very funny but... don't watch it with your mom. Especially considering a moment of male full frontal, (I know it sounds bad but it's done perfectly so its hilarious (I didn't think it was possible either))
This movie is something special, it's a romantic comedy aimed at guys. It ignores the usually sappy and boring moments to keep the movie constantly running with funny jokes and new character developments. In general, this movie is a definite watch, through all the dirty jokes you actually see true character feelings. I'd give this movie, an 9/10, memorable, funny, and brilliant.
