My Sworn Statement.
(As inspired by a friend who did the same thing. . .)

I Jenkinz Samaniego (a.k.a jenkz, jenzkie) hereby declare the following:

1. Starting July 13, I would "ADHERE IN PLAYING ANYFORMS OF GAMING" that will interrupt my study habit, this include PC, console and arcade gaming. not including traditional games like chess etc.

2. I will decline any invitations from friends or close friends that will involve PC gaming, anytime of the day. invitation as "SPECTATOR ONLY" will be accepted but still has the probability to be declined.

3. I will be deleting games from my hard drive and will INSIST on NOT installing the said deleted games or any games in my PC anytime soon.

4. I will not restrict my self in using the internet since it will be more beneficial in term of research and study.

5. Leisure during weekends may be observed but still will comply on following Statement #1.

This will take effect starting July 13th of this year until the end of the November Board exams.

I hope anyone who have read this statement will not make fun or ridicule the author in this simple way of showing dedication and devotion in passing the board exams, but instead help by showing your support and encouragement and that will be greatly appreciated.

its been a week since last na nakita ko si Ren, maybe after that event eh parang back to Activities of Daily living ako o yung tipong tipical na araw lang siguro tama na ung nakilala ko sya at kilala nya ako, i dont expect too much from her na maging special ako sa kanya in any form.

Tuesday night nakita ko sya sa harap bahay nila na nag gigitara, "Huy!!kamusta naman??" bati ko sa kanya ng pagulat, "Putik ka!! nagulat ako!" normal na salita na nangagaling sa kanya pag binibiro ko. "marunong ka pla mag gitara" pansin ko sa tinutugtug nya,"Ah oo hehehe Medyo marunong ako".

So pinapakinggan ko ung mga tinutugtug nya medyu halos parehas lng kame mag gitara medyo lamang lng sya kasi kaya nya kumanta at mag mag gitara ng sabay, eh ako hindi ko kaya yun nag iiba ang tono at ang lyrics eh pag ginawa ko un eh ahah. . .Hinawakan muna nya ang cellphone nya dahil siguro may nag text or whatever or kung anu man at hiniram ko muna ang gitara sa kanya.at tinugtug ko lng kung anu yung alam ko na mga kanta, luma bago at minsan nag iimbento. Antivirus Taste Test: One Man's Quest for (Nearly) Objective Rankings

Editor's Note: Chaz Sowers wants reliable, indepedently tested antivirus software with few false positives. But what really constitutes an "independent" test? Unsatisfied with lab ratings, he built his own malware testbed and put 35 AV products through the paces. Here is the story behind one man's AV rankings; your results may vary.

I started my research with an online company that just recently rated the "top" 14 AV products. They promised "independent comparatives of antivirus software" while at the same time stating that "since 2008 [they charge] a fee for various services we provide."

Call me a skeptic. But when a testing lab accepts money from a company to test its product, I have to wonder about the independence of the findings.

Even assuming the test results are truly independent, this business model excludes smaller companies that are unable or unwilling to pay the testing fees. A quick search online found over 40 AV products, many from companies I had never heard of before. I wondered how the lesser known ones might fair against the better known ones.

Since I already have a day job and didn't accept money from anyone for these test results, I decided to share my independent and unbiased comparison of AV products.

The results may surprise you.

Testing methodology, disclaimer and other stuff
My testing methodology was as unbiased as I could make it. After all, I had a vested interest in finding the best AV solution for my own computer. Of course my testing falls short of the double-blind scientific method, but I think it holds up well for publication in mainstream media. Remember this above all: I was searching for an AV product that would identify and delete the highest number of the test malware that I have. My emphasis in testing was on a high number of detections and my testing penalized software that reported a large number of "false positives."

Software
I used a fresh install of Windows XP, running in a Sun Virtual Box virtual machine, to run all tests. The installation of Windows was fully patched and updated (including SP3) as of Jan. 8, 2009. Each AV program was copied to the main machine from a shared folder and was the only program on the virtual machine not part of a regular Windows install. The test data resided on a logical D:\ drive and consisted of 36,438 pieces of malware. All of the malware has been, or currently is, in the wild. The virtual machine was restored to the previous, pristine state after each test.

Hardware
The system used for testing consisted of a AMD Sempron 2600-Plus processor, Asus A7N8X-E motherboard, 3 GB of 184 pin DDR RAM, a Seagate 190GB SATA hard drive, and an nVidia video card. The test bed was installed with Ubuntu Linux (version 8.10 Intrepid Ibex) which ran a copy of Sun's Virtual Box (OSE 2.1.0). Most AV programs ran without incident on the test bed but a few had problems which are detailed in the table that follows.

I found a list of AV vendors on this website, which I augmented with additional AV found here. The Wiki sire had 35 unique AV product listings, including proprietary, freeware and open source. There were names that I have known for over 16 years as well as ones that I had never seen before. Of these listings, I eliminated those whose parent company no longer existed, those for operating systems other than Windows, those for whom I could not download an evaluation copy, and software at (or very near) the end of its life. What remained are the AV solutions evaluated here.

Download
All AV software was downloaded directly from the vendor's website (where possible) or from a trusted source (C-Net or SourceForge) where the vendor did not directly support downloading. In all instances the software I downloaded was fully functional but time-limited software and would be the same that I would install and keep. For the companies that offered free versions of their products, I still chose the trial version of the commercial product.

Disclaimer
Ultimately these findings are the true and factual results of my experiences with the software and hardware listed above. They should not be used as the sole basis for purchasing Antivirus software and none of these products is endorsed by me or any of the professional associations through whom I have certifications.

Here are my findings:

* AV: Arcabit Infections found: 28,944. Comments: This AV software come from Poland and the GUI feels like it. There are a few poorly translated buttons (Pauza for Pause, for example) but overall a very intuitive interface and easy to use. The scanner was screaming fast, taking only 27 minutes and 34 seconds to evaluate all the files in the malware folder.
* AV: Ashampoo Infections found: 32,291 Comments: Decent product but the name definitely isn't ready for Prime Time. I doubt that their enterprise solution would be taken seriously because it's too easy to dismiss an AV solution called "a shampoo." The funny name aside, their AV product performed better than some very big names (Norton, Panda and Kaspersky) and proved to be very good.
* AV: Avira Infections found: 35,846 Comments: Took about 2 hours to plow through all the test data which ranks it as average in speed. Identified a very respectable 98.37 percent amount of malware but even this high percentage leaves 592 infections on the computer.
* AV: AhnLab Infections found: 21,301 Comments: AhnLab doesn't offer an AV-only product. This one is an integrated Internet Security package with "virus, work, hacking and Phishing" protection. Unfortunately, against my mix of malware this software finished third to last, and worst of all AV products that found more than 10,000 pieces of malware.
* AV: Avast Infections found: 36,124 Comments: Found 36,124 total malware but only after running the program twice. After the first scan produced such a small number of results, I re-ran the AV and this time it found additional infections. In truth, if I didn't have previous experience with this AV and a high respect for it, I probably would not have run the test a second time. If I had reported the first scan this software would have finished dead last instead of near the top. After two scans it did finally find 99.14 percent of infections. But, I ask, how many people will run AV software twice in a row?
* AV: AVG Infections found: 110 Comments: Yeah it really only identified 110 items. I ran the test 4 different times, from the context menu and from the software's GUI, changing the options to allow more time to scan and even specifically pointing it to the folder that contains about 20K well known viruses. It still came up with only 110.
* AV: Bit Defender Infections found: 36,105 Comments: After a rocky start the software showed its true ability by finding 36,105 pieces of malware. That's a total of 99.08 percent and ranks the software in third place.
* AV: Bull Guard Infections found: 31,608 Comments: Worked fairly fast, taking only 15 minutes to flag 31,608 pieces of software However, the product froze the computer when I tried to use the GUI to remove the flagged malware.
* AV: CA Infections found: 24,996 Comments: Unfortunately CA only found 68.59 percent of my malware. If I were a "black hat" I would certainly want to know which enterprises are using CA Antivirus.
* AV: Clam Infections found: 22,247 Comments: Despite being a huge supporter of open source software, I'm afraid that a 75-percent success rate is too low for me to consider seriously. Missing 25 percent of the test data translates into 9,109 pieces of malware and I don't think many people would think twice about paying 50 beans for the extra protection.
* AV: Comodo Infections found: 36,492 Comments: By far and away this was the fastest AV scanner that I tested. Comodo scanned thought all 36,438 malware in only 6 minutes. However, it appears that this speed comes at a price. The software flagged and "removed" 54 more instances of malware than were actually on the computer.
* AV: Dr. Web Infections found: 34,114 Comments: Spartan and quirky user interface. The aforementioned notwithstanding though, this software found 93.62 percent of all the malware. And it did this in only 14 minutes! I was impressed!
* AV: Dr. Web CureIt Infections found: --- Comments: This is the free version of the Dr Web software product. It took the Spartan interface and stripped it down to basically an "on" and "off" button. The software promises to "quickly scan and cure" computer infections. In my case, though, after scanning for 7 hours and 10 minutes it found 137,286 infections after scanning only 7,711 files. Extrapolating this data, the scan would have taken 34 hours and found almost 600,000 infections. I pulled the plug.
* AV: eScan Infections found: 36,146 Comments: Surprisingly, this unknown (at least to me) AV vendor found the second highest number of malware. The scanning times were average but it outperformed many other better known brands with 99.19 percent detection. Ranks in second place.
* AV: ESET Infections found: 23,746 Comments: Took 4 hours to scan all malware but the accuracy of the scanner has this product finishing in the bottom half of the test. This software recognized only 65 percent of all malware. Clam the free AV performed better.
* AV: File Sentry Infections found: 111 Comments: Yes, after running the test twice, reinstalling and running again, the AV still only found 111 malware. I wonder if AVG and File Sentry are using a common AV engine. This would explain the very low, and almost identical number of infections found. It does not however explain the overall poor performance of these two AV products.
* AV: F-Prot Infections found: 32,635 Comments: I received the error message that the "maximum entry count reached". The "Report" window in the GUI had about 500 entries before the error appeared. This scanner ran longer than most taking 12 hours and 5 minutes to scan all data files.
* AV: F-Secure Infections found: 36,692* Comments: On my fourth attempt at installation I finally got something that looks like it might scan for malware. The previous 3 installations failed at various points and the software failed with no error message or notification. After the software did run, it found an extra 2,642 files to scan and discovered 254 more instance of malware than actually existed on the computer.
* AV: G Data Infections found: 36,423 Comments: Highest success of any AV solution tested, identifying 99.95 percent of all the malware in my data file; downside is that everything is in German and the GUI is a little bit quirky.
* AV: Hacker Eliminator Infections found: 1 Comments: Yes, this software found exactly 1 piece of malware. Perhaps this is a limitation to the trial version because the set up screen said "will not remove Trojans unless you purchase a license." Regardless, by finding 1 malware, it performed better than in did in another report where it identified absolutely zero.
* AV: Hauri Infections found: 35,325 Comments: The scanner said that it scanned 63,828 files but I only had 36,438 pieces of malware for it to look at. The only possible explanation I have is that it scanned the 27,390 files in the Windows directory in addition to my malware. Nevertheless, if we believe the scanner results, this AV identified 97.21 percent of my malware collection.
* AV: Kaspersky Infections found: 20,289 Comments: I read about Kaspersky Labs often, and I have to admit that my expectations were high for this product. Sadly, this was another major AV company that failed to impress me. The software only identified 55.68 percent of the malware.
* AV: McAfee Infections found: 36,512 Comments: McAfee found 74 more malware than existed on the computer. Assuming that these 74 extra files were "false positives" and not the software alerting on Windows Updates, then this product had the most false positives of any I tested.
* AV: Norton (Symantec) Infections found: 20,404 Comments: The program installed easily and ran quickly, finishing in about 25 minutes. I was shocked though at the low number of malware that it flagged, so I restored the virtual machine and reinstalled NAV. After running it a second time I got the exact same results. So I tried a third time. Sad to say, what I thought would be the Gold Standard, only identified 56percent of the malware. But it did find this 56 percent three times in a row.
* AV: Panda Infections found: 31,719 Comments: Sixteen hours, 4 installs and 7 reboots after I started, I finally was able to get the software to scan. It found only 87 percent of the malware on the system. Lots of work for a disappointing low result.
* AV: PC Tools Infections found: 30,023 Comments: Endorsements from Dr Phil and www.MajorGeeks.com aside, this AV only caught 82.39 percent of malware on my computer. Not a much better than Clam (the other free AV in the test) and far from what I would install to protect my computer.
* AV: Protector Infections found: --- Comments: I was excited to try an AV product from India. Unhappily this one brings up a "nag screen" with each infection it discovers, requiring the user to "click here" to continue. Needless to say, I no intention of clicking through 36,438 nag screens. Plug pulled!
* AV: Rising Software Infections found: 27,991 Comments: After almost giving up to make this product work, it finally installed and ran on my last attempt. This AV was one of the faster ones, chewing through all my test data in only 47 minutes. However, it only managed to identify 27,991 of the items it scanned.
* AV: Sophos Infections found: --- Comments: The software froze the computer and I was unable to run the test. I followed the same procedure I used with other AV software like reinstalling using different options, but the software still wouldn't run. It seemed like it was trying to call a service that wasn't running, but for whatever reason, the software either "failed silently" or froze the computer.
* AV: Trend Micro Infections found: 35,182 Comments: I don't know what the software meant when it said that "35,001 targets checked" when it should have counted 36,438. It also said "35,182 potential threats found" but it didn't delete them.
* AV: Trust Port Infections found: 36,171 Comments: Despite their Web claims of 99.9percent detection, this software only detected 99.26 percent on my tests. Still, it was pretty darned impressive. They use a unique approach by licensing AV engines from 4 other companies which they roll up into their own GUI (AVG, DrWeb, Norman, and Virus Blok ADA). Certainly an excellent AV choice, but still second to G Data in terms of malware identification.
* AV: Virus Blok ADA (also called VBA) Infections found: 22,417 Comments: The software has a very Spartan GUI and didn't appear to provide a summary report. In fact I'm not sure that a reporting option even exists. And since this AV identified only 61.52 percent of my malware, the lack of a reporting function doesn't really matter.
* AV: Zondex Infections found: --- Comments: This AV software hails from Australia and I was curious to see how an "Auzzy" product would stack up. The interface feels a lot like Windows 3.1 and settings cannot be adjusted like many other products. Twice the GUI crashed and stopped running. When restarted, it pegged CPU usage at 100percent.
* AV: Zone Alarm Infections found: --- Comments: It was the slowest of all AV products tested, scanning only 162 files an hour (2.7 files per minute). I was curious as to why it was so slow until I checked my firewall logs (not ZA or Checkpoint). Apparently the product "phones home" with each and every possible infection. At this rate the test would have taken over 9 days to complete. I pulled the plug after 30 hours.

Products not tested (and why)

* Inca: Also know as nProtect, the site is mostly in untranslated Korean (hover your mouse over the "Products" icon and see for yourself). I was trying to read the few English words on the site and guess where the link to the software was when the site launched a java script that pegged my CPU usage at 100 percent. Given this experience I chose not to download or test this AV.

* Graugon: A program that uses the Clam AV engine, and after seeing how effective this engine is, I chose not to evaluate this product.

* Norman: The Trust Port AV software uses the Norman AV engines in its product. Since the engine was already being tested (sort of) I chose not to test it again. They also appear not to have a free evaluation copy of their software.

* Virus Chaser: Another AV product from the People's Republic of China. For the most part, the site was better translated than the others from Korea and China. However, having said that, the link on the site to download the software is either broken or deliberately severed. I tried many times over the course of a week to download the software.

* Microsoft OneCare: Cheap shots at the software giant aside, this product is at the end of its life. Microsoft plans to roll out a new anti-malware product in a few months code named "Morro." Since I decided at the beginning of these tests not to evaluate any AV that is (or will be shortly) discontinued, MS was left out.

These AV products were eliminated because they caused miscellaneous problems on the test bed (read the individual entries for details): Protector, Sophos, Zondex and Zone Alarm. I offer no explanations why these AV products did not work. I simply report the results that occurred in my test bed.

isang ordinaryo na araw na naman ang dumaan sken, ung tipong paulit ulit lng ang gnagawa, gising ng maaga pasok sa skwela, tutulugan si mam,at mag iintay para sa uwian, sisilay kay crush para naman sipagin pumasok tapos uuwi sa bahay at matutulog nanaman para sa panibagong cycle sa aking buhay. its been months since nakilala ko si ren masasabi ko lng na nag eenjoy ako pag ksma sya, di ko alam kung madaldal lng tlga sya oh sabik lng talaga mag kwento, medyu may pag ka rapper nga minsan kasi nag ra rhyme ung words nya eh kulang n lng ung words na "Hey" "Yow" "Wazzup??" makakabuo na sya ng isang rap song sa conversasion namen.

Saturday non very, tipical na araw para sa isang alipin sa tindahan na mag hahatid ng kanyang paninda nasalubong ko si ren habang papauwi ako galing sa tindahan namen. "Jenz!" sigaw nya saken sa malayo, napatingin ako at inaaninag ung tao na tumawag saken, "Oh ren kaw pala, himala at lumabas ka ng bahay??" sagot ko sa kanya, "ahh hehe, eh kasi may bibilhin lng ako kaya ako lumabas, uhm pwede ba ulet mag patulong sayo?","Oo naman, walang problema" sagot ko sa kanya, "Cge may bibilhin lng ako may bisita eh eheh" at umalis na sya para bumili ng kung ano para sa bisita nila. napaisp ako kung sinu ung bisita nya, siguro tito? tita, ate kuya? o may nalimutan ako?? hya-eh na malay ko ba kung sino un? per napaisip ako na mkakapasok nanaman ako sa bahay nila Ren at mkakasama ko nanaman sya ahehehe, habang nag lalakad ako ng naka ngisi ang aking mukha. "Yow nandyan ka na ba?"("Yow" Tipical na word na gnagamet ko panimula sa text) tinext ko muna si Ren kung Pede na ko pumunta sa kanila at nkakahiya naman dahil may bisita xa, "Ah Oo cge Punta ka na abangan n lng kita sa Gate" Reply nya saken, at pumunta na ko sa kanila with matching smile nanaman sa muka. "Knack-Knack!" tawag ko mula sa labas, sinalubong nya ako at binuksan ang gate, pumasok ako sa loob at nag tataka at tiningnan ko kung nasan na ung bisita nya, eh parang wala naman eh kaya pumasok na ko loob.

well masaya ako at ksma ko nanaman sya not knowing what will happen, tinanong nya ako kung kaya ko ba daw gawan ng patho, ung case na na nahandle nya, "Hmm cge titignan ko pahiram mo ako ng ballpen" sagot ko sa kanya. pumasok sya sa may bandang baba ng hagdan malpet papunta sa kusina at napansin ko na may tao pla dun, pag balik nya tinanong kung sinu ung nandun, "si JM nga pla un, BF ko". sagot nya sken. parang naiipon ung dugo sa dibdib ko at parang gusto ko ng tumayo sa kinatatayuan ko ng panahon na un, pero ayaw gumalaw ng paa ko dahil siguro may kelngan pa ako tapusin ng mga oras na un.

Hindi ako makapag concentrate ng mga oras na un at hindi ko magawa ng ayos yung pinapagaawa nya, dahil siguro sa presensya ng tao isang metro ang layo mula sa akin. Iniisip ko din na baka pag selosan ako ng taong to dahil malaya akong nkakapasok sa bahay nila Ren pero naisip ko din na baka sobra lng ako mag isip at baka mabait din naman yung taong yun na hindi naman ako gnung ka ka selos-selos tignan eh mas may itsura pa nga ata si Long Mejia saken eh (pero pogi daw ako sabi ng Nanay ko XD).
Naisip ko na tigilan na din ang Quest ko na mapalapit pa kay Ren ng panahong un dahil siguro magiging Ordinaryong tao lng sya sa buhay ko tulad na din ng iba na dadaan lng, mag kakaroon ng konting excitement mag iiwan ng onting experiences tapos aalis din naman na prang ndi kame nag kakilala. ito ang unang beses na sinabe ko sa sarili ko "Titigilan ko na To, at hanggang dito na lang marami pa naman ata dyan iba".

Halos hindi ko din natapos ung pinapagawa nya saken, at hindi ko n lang pinahalata na hindi ako kumportable ng mga oras na un. "Uy pasensya na hindi ko natapos may gagawin pa kasi ako eh, dugtungan mo na lng ng onti patapus na din naman yan" sabi ko sa kanya, "cge salamat, at itong BF ko mamaya eh pa uwi na din","ahhhh ganun ba??" (may sarcastic word na nasa isip pero hindi ko sinabe) "ah sige una na ko kita kits na lng sa skul ha","cge salamat ulit pasenxa na sa istorbo","wala un kaw pa lakas mu saken eh hehehe,geh" pa alam ko.

Palabas na ko sa bahay nila at hanggang sa pag lalakad ko, iniisip ko ung nang yari ng 2 oras na inilagi ko sa kwartong un at ang pagitang isang Metro kay JM, oh dahil sa sa katotohanan na angat ang estado nya kay Ren o ika nga sya ung mahal nya, at lalung lumabo ang tyansa ko na mapalapit kay Ren ika nga "Never na Mangyayari ang iniisip ko". npapalapit na ko kay ren, ewan ko lang sa kanya baka nga siguro ako lng nag iisip nun. anyways ZERO nanaman at parang mag sisimula nanaman ang buhay ko dahil akala ko tpus na ang chapter ni ren sa istorya na ika nga ni jorjan sa blog na nabasa ko eh si LORD ang Author ng Love Story ko. Hays, at aun nag lalakad ako sa kalsada na 10 seconds lng ang layu sa bahay namen, nag isip, nag reminis, nagtaka, nagalet, sumaya, nagselos, nainis, nanghinayang at nagutom.

i thought i only have 3 months left, but chances are events turned out to be favorable,
favorable enough for me to stupidly think im the right one, right one to be just left when someone arrives.

I become deaf of those words that says me to stop, coz the happiness i felt every time your presence engulfs me within is unexplainable.

Though i know, you have the capability to understand, still you pretend that you never heard o word or a thing.

i cannot tell anymore whether you tell me truth or lies maybe compliment a consolation for what i do.

You forget most of the things i did, time may came i will be forgotten.

Ms. Carmela Azurin, our guest speaker; Mr. Feliciano L. Torres, the President of Lyceum – St. Cabrini; Mr. Peter P. Laurel, the President of Lyceum of the Philippines – Laguna; Ms. Alma Rita D.R. Jimenez, the Executive Vice President of Lyceum St. Cabrini; Ms. Lerma Y. Calingasan, the Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mrs. Ritchie C.Villasanta, the Dean of the School of Nursing; Faculty Members; Administration Staff; parents and fellow graduates, a pleasant morning to everyone. This day will be one of the most memorable, not just for me but to all of you as well. Many think that graduation is merely the acceptance of a degree or, just a mark of completion or ending of a course. For me, it is more than that. This ceremony symbolizes the start of a new beginning; where in, we start to learn more and learn new things, to set new goals and objectives, and to live a new life with faces and in places unfamiliar to us.

I think, this is also the time to reminisce everything that had happened to us whether good or bad. Good experiences reinforce us to continue consistently everything that should be done. On the other hand, bad experiences, if taken positively entail improvement on one’s capabilities by learning what should be and should not be done. Despite of the difficulties and adversaries that we faced… here we are now, graduates. This is just a simple reminder that we are in these commencement exercises because we’ve worked hard, displayed a lot of patience and determination, and never quitted.

As students, we have had lots of pressure inside our heads. Usually, we are getting pressured by the expressed expectations of the significant people around us. But you know what, these people are just placing their confidence in us; most probably because, they can see the potential we posses – that we can do better. There maybe times that we have disappointed them for the reason of failing to meet their expectations. Keep in mind that failures are part of one’s earthly existence. For every failure, there is learning which now contributes to future success. Nevertheless, you don’t have to experience every failure in life so as to learn. You just have to use your ears to listen and your heart to understand every testimony of life from different people you’ll meet someday, and learn from them. After which, show everyone what you’ve got. Be passionate in everything you do, and know how to appreciate yourself for doing your best. At times, your best will not be enough for some, but at least you’ve done everything you can and are ready to improve yourself.

One of the privileges that I’m so thankful for is the opportunity to graduate with you all. I thank God for this and for making everything good for me. There are things in life we consider trash or senseless; however, God in His own prudent way reveals how great He is by showing us that everything, big or small can bring the best out of us. All things work together for good to those who made God the author of their lives. I also want to thank my family, especially my parents who have extended their all out undying support for me. Dad, although you are not here, I thank you for giving me the chance to finish my studies and for expressing your appreciation in all my efforts even just through text. Mom, thank you for being there always and for being very supportive and caring to me as well as to my brothers. I can definitely say that, these two persons I have just mentioned were the best instruments God used to mold me to become an asset in the society. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the LSC clinical instructors who have taught me well. Thank you for imparting your knowledge and for your patience to us. Sorry for being a “pasaway” in the clinical area. Moreover, I want to express my gratitude to my peers for showing me several ways on how I can have fun while learning. To my co-officers in the LSC-Central Student Council, thank you for your hardwork. You’ve done a great job for the entire LSC students. To the former dash 3 and current dash 6 family, thank you for being my friends for life. To my former duty groups 10 and 23 as well as the current group 19, thank you for your company and for showing concern whenever I skip meals during our duty hours.

Fellow graduates, let me congratulate you for a job well done. Not everyone of us may have an award in our college years in nursing. Still, I can say that you have achieved things that other people could not: the nursing theories learned during lecture hours, the skills you gained through clinical experiences, the memories you share with your group/classmates, the confidence developed in nurse-patient interactions, and the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing you’ve obtained this very day. So never give up on your dreams toward excellence. Always aim for growth and never forget the people who helped you all through out. You are blessed to be a blessing to others.

Before I end my speech, I would like you to remember everything and everyone that contributed to your personhood as well as the lessons that equipped you with sufficient knowledge and skills in preparation for our chosen profession. Once again, congratulations. To God be the glory!

Chapter 1

"Windangers"

well, nagsimula ang lahat sa wala, baket?? eh gnun naman talaga dba?? alangan pag bukas mo nang bagong biling alkansya meron agad laman?? anu ka? sinuswete? sana nga meron gnung alkansya, bibli tlga ako nun ehehehe. ako nga pla si Jenz as all of you know? tahimik, corny daw??, walang talent sa mga kulay (kea ndi wala akong taste sa kulay ng t-shirt XD), muka daw suplado, bihira maging seryoso at madaming kalokohan sa buhay, ako ung tipo ng tao na happy go lucky o basta na kung san dalhin ng hangin dun na, pero xempre gusto ko na iba ako lage sa iba na may bagay na ko lng nkaka alam o gnagawa(hindi kumaen ng apoy ha). isa akong nursing student sa isang kolehiyo sa laguna natuwa ako kasi kulay white ang uniform ang pogi kasing tignan eh. anyways napaka hirap ang buhay ng isang narsing student lalu na kung nakatira ka sa probinsya, pinaka nkakainis ung pag byahe mo sa tricycle ng umuulan at bagu ka makapunta sa skwelahan eh kulay tsokolate na ang unipormo mo, isa pang malalang experience ko eh ung malagyan ng GRASA ang puti kong uniporme XD walastik ung araw na un!

well makalipas ang isang taon, nagawa kong makasurvive sa ANATOMY and PHYSIOLOGY na isang Major subject ng Narsing..well proud ako at isa ako sa mga npaka palad na nka pasa kahit wala akong gnawa kundi matulog ng matulog pag nag lelecture na ang C.I na walang gnawa kundi tawagin ng tawagin ang pngalan ko pag nkikitang nka pangalum baba na ko at papikit na ang mata ko, abay akalain mo un? xempre ndi naman lalagpas sa college life na hindi ka maiinlove sa seatmate mo dba?? ehehehe..at xempre nag ka gF ako first time sa college life ko, , ako naman si tanga eh palibhasa first time sige lng ng sige! aun. . . .may requirments pla...kea nakipag break, dapat daw may Kotse nyahahah!!!(joke) anyways she became a good friend in the end. Well umabot ako ng 2nd year then 3rd year kung san nag start ako ng Hospital duty kung san gumagapang lahat ng narsing student para maipasa nila ang major subject nila, one time nung kasma ko ung mga kagrupo ko, may tinanong sila sken kung may kilala daw akong isang tao na malapet sa tinitirhan ko, "jenk, may kilala ka ba na narsing student dun sa inyo?" tnung sken nung kagroup ko, "eh, ako lng ata taga dun n naring student eh meron bang iba?", "Oo klassmate nmen dati". sabay kuha ng picture sa wallet nya at un and unang beses na nakita ko xa at nalaman na nag eexist pla sya sa subdivision na tinirhan ko. kinuha ko ung pic at tinignan ko ng mabuti, "hmmm,,," napatingin ako ng mtagal "maganda sya" nasabi ko tuloy sa sarili ko, tinanung ko kung anung pangalan nya sa kagrupo ko. "Ren" ."Ren ang pangalan nya" sabi ng grupmate ko, napaisip ako kasi kapangalan nya ung naging X ko nung mga nkaraang sem. Hingi ko ung Pic ni ren sa ka grupo ko at nlagay ko na sa wallet ko ehehehe...at un ung first time na una kong nakita si Ren.

Chapter 2

"Veterans"

Nabasa ko sa bulletin board sa skwela nung umaga ung bagung Sched ko ng Duty.

ito ung first manila affiliation na pag dudutihan ko, xempre natuwa naman ako, medyu madmi gastos kea kelngan mag tipid kahit madming temptation ng gala ng mga classmates ko ehehehe. . .natapus ko ung first day ng duty sa veterans, at aba! proud ako at sa ICU kame napatapat kesa sa iba na ward lng.aheheh magnda kasi pakinggan ahaha! after duty umuwi nakame at exhausted na kame dahil dun lintek na kulot na doktor na tinotoxic kame pati nung mga Intern na mga doctor. kala mo cute hindi naman!. kinausap ako ng isa kong friend na naging group mate ko din sa duty noon.. "Uy jenz! may ka group ako na taga dun din sa inyo!" sabi nung frend ko. "ha??? sinu un??" napatnung naman ako at medyu mtgal na din kasi nung sinabi sken ng frend ko about kay ren. "Si Ren tga acacia din xa dun sa inyo!".."ah. .ay uu nga pla" na may halong ngiti sa muka ko nun nung napaisip ako na sya pla un hehehe..den tinawag nya nung friend ko at pinakilala ako, "Oy rEn si jenz nga pla. taga dun din xa sa subdivision na tinitirhan mo", napangiti naman ako kasi sa wakas nakita ko na din xa. medyo may kilig factor pa at napasisp tlga ako. may kapitbahay naman pla ako na tulad nya bat ngaun ko lng sya nakita!!! "hi po" pro napatingin lng xa saken bumati at sabay alis. "Ahem. . .nice to meet you ha??" parang di naman ata ako nkita nun sure ako ndi ako natandaan nun oh namukaan lng nyerr...."di bale hanggang dun lng naman siguro un oh di ko magiging close" nasabi ko sa sarili ko nung ma panahong un.

Chapter 3

"TSINELAS"

natapos ko ang duty ko sa veterans nun at bumalik na kame sa skwela para sa lecture week nmen. every other week kasi ang schedule ng duty para mas ma utilize and sched every week.
gumising ako ng maaga para pumasok para ndi ako mahuli kay mam lirio. sa pag lalakad ko may nkita akong babae na lumabas sa bahay na kaparehas ng logo sa unifrom ko, medyu napatingin ako sa kanya at ndi naman nya ako pinapansin. panay pa nga ata pa epal ko nun pero wa effect parin.si Ren ung lumabas na tandaan ko ung muka nya nung pinakilala sya sken ng mga frends ko nag kahiwalay na kame ni jeep ng nasakyan nun wala naman ako mpapala sa gnun eh..kea aun tumakbo na ko ng matulin para lng mkaabot kay mam lirio..luckily letter "R" ang tinatawag nya sa attendanc at dalawa na lng ako na ang tatwagin, pero malas absent pa sila!! putek! humabol na lng ako sa roll call ni mam liro, at dahil sa charm na gnamet ko aun! pasok sa attendance ahhehehe...
may klase ako nun sa NCM103 at break time, lumabas ako para mag C.R. nag kataon na nkita ko nanaman ung friend ko na nag pakilala sken at kinausap ako. tinanung nya ulet sken kung nkita ko daw si Ren, sabi ko naman nde eh ndi nga ata ako ntatandaan nun eh. nag kataon naman na dumating si Ren mula 1st floor at knausap ung friend ko. at that time pinakilala nya ulet ako kay Ren. "Oy totoy I.D mo" sabi sken nung guard, "ito OH!! kita mo na??" sabi ko naman na parang nagbbiro ang tono. kinuha din naman ni Ren ung I.D nya nung tinanong sya ng guard. pero ndi pa rin xa pinapasok. napaisp ako kung baket at napatingin ako sa paa nya. Ay! nka Sandals!!(tsinelas tawag ko nun ahaha) kea pla ndi xa pinapasok. nkikiusap n lng kame na papasukin xa kasi malelate na kame sa klase nmen pero matigas ung guard na animoy nanlalaki na ung ilong sa pag mamatigas na ndi papasukin si ren. Na iiyak na si Ren ng time na un pero nkita ko sa knya na kahit na problemado na xa eh sinusubukan pa rin nya ngumiti at ayaw nya ipakita na pinanghihinaan xa ng loob. natuwa naman ako sa attitude nyan un at nasabi ko sa sarili ko na makakasundo ko itong taong to. hindi ko xa iniwan kahit na late na din ako sa klase ko, minor lng naman eh, mas gnis2 ko pa na samahan xa sa indi ko malamang dahilan, oh dahil na raramdaman ko na kelngan nya ng kasama sa mga oras na yun. . .siguro mga 30mins bago kame pinapasok nung gwardya na nka duty nun at pag katapos nun nasabi ko sa kanya "next time mag sapatos ka na ha??" sabay nginitiian nya ako kahit may luha sa mga mata nta at nginitian ko din xa dahil may nakilala akong kakaiba.

Chapter 4

"Trust and Believe"

Mag mula nung nag kasabay kame ni Ren sa skwela eh medyu mas madalas ko na siya makita, di tulad nung dati na ni anino nung babaeng yun eh di ko makita. Sa klase, na mumukaan na nya ako at na mumukaan ko na din xa, kahit onting taas lng ng kilay eh aus na mag kabatian lng ehehhe. One time nkita ko sila ng Pinsan nya na nag babadminton sa labas ng bahay nila, eh ako naman umiral nanaman ang pagka inosente o pakunwari di marunong at naki nakidawdaw sa bagong friend na nakilala ko. At ayun, hinawakan ko ang raketa habang pinapahabol sya ng bola, eh malay ko na marunnong ba tlga sya oh nag kukunwari tulad ko, ahahah..napagod ko ata oh napasobra, nkita ko hingal na eh,eheheheh, nagalet ata sken at parang hahampasin ako ng Raketa. "langya ka pinagod mo ko!" pero nakangiti naman sya nung sinabe yun kea medyo napangiti din ako kahit sinabi nya un. nabanggit ko ata na ako ung nag 1st sa intrams nun, kea nag paturo xa sken. "Kala mo ha! matatalo din kita" sabi nya sken non habang tinuturuan siya. Hinamon pa ata nga ako ng Scoran, eh obvious naman na hindi din nya alam kung paano ung scoring kea pinatulan ko na. "Dapat may Pusta or Favor" sabi nya, eh ako naman kunwari nag isip pa, parang nilubog na din nya ung sarili nya dat time, oh di nga ata pinag isipan yung sinabe nya eh?? natatawa na lng ako kasi naisp ko na mukang mkakakaen ako ng libre ngayong gabe hehehe...Nag start kame Sa Pustahan nmen, pina iscore ko muna xa para di naman obvious kung sino mananalo ahehehhe...ooops!! habol dito habol dyan, parang di babae tong kalaban ko ang tyaga mag habol ng bola, di tulad ng iba na puro pacute lng ang gnagawa sa harap mo habang pinapalo nila ang bola sabay ngiti pag sala. binibigyan ko sya ng advice at tinuturuan ko ng tamang paraan sa pag lalaro, nakita ko pursigido sya matuto, willing sa mga bagay na interasado sya. isang bagay na natuwa ako eh nung napansin ko na di sya maarte di rin tulad ng iba na ang dame pang orasyon dadamputin lang yung bolsa na nasa kalsada. Napaisip tuloy ako, "Sa tingin ko parang may ma ituturo ako sa kanya o may matutunan din ako mula sa kanya", ewan ko kung ano pero may feeling na magandang kalalabasan. natapos ang laru nman nakita ko pagod na sya at nag pahinga na kame, Syempre pede ko na makuha ung Price ko sa Pustahan nmen, "Mukang mapapa gastos ako ah??" sabi ni Ren, pumasok muna sya sa kanila para uminom ng tubig oh cguro kukuha ng wallet?aheheheh, , inisip ko kung anu ung favor na pede ko hingin mula sa kanya. "Oh ano nang gusto mo?" habang nag lalakad sya papalabas sa kanila. "Hmmm..favor ko??" na pa isip ako ng matagal. . . .
"Just Trust and Believe me"
sabi ko sa kanya, "Un lang ba un??" tanong nya sa akin, "Oo un lang", "Ok cge, kala ko naman manlilibre na ko aheheheh" sabi nya sakin habang hawak ang raketa at nag pa praktis. Hindi ko alam ang dahilan kung baket ung salitang un ang lumabas sa bibig ko, napaisip tuloy ako na ang korni ko pala talaga ahahaha, naisip ko ng mga panahong un na parang napaka walang kwenta ng sinabe ko. "Wag mu kakalimutan yan ha" sabi ko sa kanya bago kame umuwi, "Oo cge di ko kakalimutan yan" sabi nya saken. at tapos non umuwi na ko, pero may pahabol sya "Hoy! babawi ako ha!! kala mo!! mag praktis ka na!!" napangiti naman ako ng sinabe nya yon nasabi ko sa isp ko "Asa" hehehe pagnatuloy yon dadamihan ko ang kaen kO! ahahha!!. . . umuwi na ko at nag palit ng damit, di ko na namanalayan na pinawisan na din pala ako, "may talent din pala un, grabe pinagod ako mag pulot ng bola" sabay tulog at higa sa Kama. . .

Chapter 5

"Pathophysiology"

Isang hapon napadaan ako sa harap ng bahay nila Ren, napasinsin ko na parang ang dami tao sa loob, ndi naman ako makapag tanong sa kanya eh kasi nkakahiyanaman baka mga kamag anak lng nya un, kaya dumeretso na lng ako sa tindahan namen para ihatid yung mga paninda name. "Tutut! Tutut!" biglang tumunog ang cellphone ko, kinuha ko sa aking bulsa at tinignan kung sinung tao ang naligaw na nag text at na receive ko sa inbox ko, baka nanaman kasi ung 2929 nanaman ng smart un na kumakaen ng load ko. binuksan ko at tinig nan kung sinu.."1 New Message" galing pala kay cai."Jenz nandito kame sa acacia kina Ren, daan ka!" nagulat ako at yung madaming taong pala na yun eh sina cai at mga kaibigan nya o mga kaklase ko pala. napangiti naman ako kasi first time ko na makapasok ako sa bahay nila Ren,,at nag reply ako na pupunta ako at ihahatid ko lang tong mga dala ko. habang papalapit na ko sa bahay nila at nag text ako para malaman nila na nandun na ko, una ko0ng nakita si cai "Oh! jenz!" bati saken ni cai, "wow! heheh napadalaw kau dito??" tanong ko naman sa kanya pabalik, "ah may gnagawa kameng pathophysio yung sa duty namen, pde mo ba kame tulungan?"tanung nya saken, Oo ba sagit ko, tinawag nya si Ren para buksan ang gate at binati ko sya, binati din naman nya akop pabalik :D naka pambahay lang xa ng mga oras na yun, napaka simple pero may dating, di ko alam pero siguro tinatamaan lng ako sa kanya nung mga nakaraang araw..di ko na lang pinahalata at pumasok na ako sa kanila, First time ko na makapasok ng naayusan ang bahay nila, kasi dati nung bagong lipat pa lng kame sa subdivision namen eh kungkretong semento pa lng ang kulay ng bahay nila at naikot ko na ang first at second floor pag nag lalaro kame ng mga kaibigan ko nung mga bata pa kame, nakita ko sila na gumagawa ng pathophysio nila at lumapit ako at tinignan ang mga ginawa nila. tumayo si Ren at tinanong ako kung pede kung tigan yung gawa nya, umoo naman agad ako eh kasi naman yun naman ang purpose ko dun baka palabasin ako bigla eh nyahahah,napangiti ako nung nakita ko yung ginagawa nyang patho kasi kakagawa ko lng din ng kaparehas na case na ginagawa nya..at ulet umiral ang kunwari pa inisente effect ko na kunwari ndi alam at ginawa ko ang patho nya, dapat ganito,,ganyan, iduktong mo ito dito tapos dito sabay ganito at ganyan ulet para ang kalabasan yan ay ganito! tsaran!! instant pathophysiology! natapos ko yung pinagawa nya at pinakita ko agad. "salamat" sabi ni ren saken, "ur welcome! i rechek mo n lng ulet yung gawa ko kung may kulang kaw n lng ang mag dagdag ha??" sabi o sa kanya" "Sige", un lang ba yun?? wala bang juice?? naisip ko sa sarili ko ehehehe pero joke lng yun xempre heheh,, "Cge Ren alis na ko kau na muna bahala dyan" paalam ko sa kanya, "Cge salamat sa! sa uulitin!" may next pa pala yun?? aheheh at umalis na ko at nadagdagagan nanaman ang points ko kay Ren by that time

Tips for New nurses

New nurses aspiring to land jobs in the united States or the Middle East will have to learn a lot so as not to be jolted by culture shock or sink in depression once they find themeselves working in a foreign land.

Danny Fernandez of the OFW Guide forum has these tips to share:

1.Get a Social Security number

This is important upon arriving in the US. You may seek the help of the Human Resource Department of the hospital where you will work. Most State Boards requires the SSN to get your permanent nurse license, be a registered nurse and practice your profession.Without the SSN you may not be able to secure your license and will not be allowed to work. It will take between 10 and 30 days to get a social security try number.

Don’t Overspend-The The contract you signed in the Philippines may include a clause stating that for 90 days of your stay in the U.S, hiring hospital will provide for your needs and you will receive an allowance or stipend. The stipend may barely cover your expenses. Normally, the accommodation they provide is a one-room apartment with free water and electricity. It has stove, ref, sofa, TV, and a bed. You need to buy your utensils, plates spoon, fork, bed sheets, food and other personal items. Some hospitals have things included in the package but some do not. It is a must to inquire about these matters from your agency. You need to spend frugally until earn your first pay check. Until then, you have to live with the stipend unless you brought your pocket money.

2.Learn to Drive

-If you can, you need to learn to drive and secure a drivers license in the Philippines. Knowing how to drive in the U.S or in any part of the middle east is not a luxury but a necessity. There a re public transport facilities available but it is very inconvenient to wait for buses and taxis.

3.Learn the US Hospital Environment

-The Philippine hospital environment is totally different from those of the U.S, from the way they treat their patients, the patients themselves, the equipment used and the procedures. Don’t be fooled by the patient-nurse ratio of 1:5 patients in the U.S against the 1:40 in the Philippines the documentation alone consume so much time you need to be ready for this. Orientation period is usually six weeks. You need focus and alertness on the work floor. It appears that during the orientation that you will experience difficulty but will get used to it in no time.

4.Practice talking in English

-You need to adept in English comprehension. This should be easy because Filipinos are very good speakers of English. However, the way Americans speaks English is different from the way we do in terms of pronunciation and accent. Many foreign nurses find it difficult to understand doctors orders. The key solution is practice, the easier it would be for you.

Lyceum Anime' Network

We were Just waiting outside the Computer Lab in LPL when i saw a student wearing a japanese Kimono, i wondered why is she wearing that? farther back i saw the booth where she was promoting their newly founded Org or club they called the LYCAN (Lyceum Anime' Network). the she asked as if we want to join, well hell of course! ahehehehe
i had the chance to take her pic. . .(sad part i didnt know her name >,<)i call her rukia :D

It was my first impression calling her by that name since she really looks like rukia in the anime' bleach. . .

What: Application for Admission to the June/november 2009 Nurse Licensure Examination
When: Until April 17, 2009 only(june examinees).
Where: Central Office, P. Paredes Street near Morayta
(also at its satellite accepting center at the 2nd Floor of Ever Gotesco Mall - Recto Branch) in Manila or at any regional offices located in the cities of Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.

Requirements for Application:
Duly accomplished Nurses’ Application Form (NAF)
NSO issued Birth Certificate
NSO issued Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
Transcript of Records with scanned picture and reflecting the remarks: “FOR BOARD EXAMINATION PURPOSES”
Duly notarized Record of OR-DR Cases (for first-time applicants only)
Duly notarized Summary of Relate

Hay Buhay, walang katapusang aral, gawa kaen tulog at minsan paulit ulit na, minsan naisip ko namang gumawa ng kakaiba para medyo mag karooon naman ng excitement ang buhay ko noh,, sabi ko nga minsan sa mga barkada ko mag iiwan ako ng marka sa LSC(lyceum) ahehehe binalak ko mag vandal pero sa dami dami na maintenance(sosing janitor) dun eh di ko magwa heheh... gusto ko nga sana batuhin ng itlog ung gaurd dun na araw araw ako sinisita na kung nasaan na daw ang I.D ko! eh nasa bag ko lng naman??
pero ang isang bagay na natutuwa ako ay ang iba ibang ulam at pag kaen na nadadatnan ko sa bahay pag dating ko, tulad ng!!!

yan! e2 at bagung gawa pa!! ahehehe...kawawang baka namana ang dadaan sa aking bunganga para ma punan ang aking kagutuman!

nag hanap pa ko ng chopstick para lng may japanese effect ang pag kaen ko, kahit mahulog hulog ung noodles sa bunganga ko...go lang!! ahahah!!... pag katapos ko nga kumaen eh ang sebo ng bunganga ko parang itsurang may sperm(Oy sebo ng bAka un!amfufu!) aheheheh pero di ko din natiis gumamit din ako ng kutsara ndi ko machapstik ung onion leeks(pampabalbas):D

at last! busog na ko! ahehehe handa nanaman sa panibagong round ng labanan at sermon sa bahay, tambs up!
