One of the many things I am thankful for is my FAMILY OF ORIGIN. In my 25 years of existence, they never failed to shower me with unconditional love. They are patient with me and their support for me is unending. I will never exchange them for anything in this world. I truly treasure every hour, minute, second I spent with them. I pray that God would give us mooooore years to spend together. I am happy because I know that I have them ‘til the end and I am here for them too no matter what. I love them so much!

I also thank God for Jyle, God’s most precious gift to me! When Jyle came into my life, a lot of things have changed! I became more driven, more loving, more patient. I became a stronger and better person. God revealed His love for me in a whole new way through my son. I will be forever thankful to Him for giving me a handsome and very loving son!

Last but certainly not the least, I thank God for my handsome bestfriend and lifetime partner, Jason. Everyday I thank God for giving Jason to me. He is very hardworking, understanding, patient, caring and loving. These are just a few of his traits that make me want to love him more and more.

Cooking

Cooking is something I never thought I would love to do. When I was young, I 'hate' doing house chores, specifically cooking! Yes, I know 'hate' is a strong word, but I think that's the right word to describe how I feel whenever my mom, dad, or older sister would ask me to do something in the house back then. I just thought it's complicated and so not for me.

Then things changed when we migrated here in the States. My parents worked double job 7 days a week, and I was left with my two younger siblings in the house everyday. I must admit, it wasn't fun at all. I mean, I honestly think we are starving! HAHA I got tired of eating the same thing over and over again. My mom would cook food for us before she leaves for work in the morning, and that's basically our food for the whole day. We had to re-heat it and or instead, we can just eat can foods like tuna, sardines, corned beef, sausage, and spam. Well, for my younger brother that's probably not a problem at all, because those are his favorites. But, for me and my younger sister, it's not something we can EAT everyday. We get sick of it!

Long story short, I finally realized that I had to help my parents out to look and care after my siblings more, most especially when we're left in the house alone. So one day, I just woke up and started researching for recipes online... practiced it and little did I know, I'll be able to reach this point where I actually want to go back to school and study culinary. Yay! :)

It feels great whenever my sister and brother would finish the food I cooked or when they would say how delicious it was. It motivates and encourages me more to prepare a good meal for them. Now, I can say that cooking has become part of my daily routine. It's like I feel crippled not being able to do it. :) Funny! I know! Anyway, I really hope I can go back to school and learn more... I dream of having my own cooking book someday. ;)

When I found out that I was pregnant, I was shocked. I was shocked not because I didn't like it. It's because I didn't expect God would give me this kind of blessing, despite of everything I've done wrong to Him. I feel like I don't deserve something precious and beautiful like this. There are a lot of things going through my mind at that time and I was super scared. I know that God gave me this baby for a reason... for a wonderful reason.

Please don't get me wrong, I love babies and children and I've been dreaming of having one of my own too, but just not too soon. Not this soon. I just felt like Jason and I are both not ready with all the responsibilities yet, since we're newly weds... It's just scary because I know that this baby isn't really my property, I'm just a care taker. So thinking about all the responsibilities scares me a lot. I'm not sure if I can raise him well.

But I guess, God must've really seen something in me and Jason for us to qualify to be the parents of this baby... or for me to be his mother. I believe that if God has entrusted me with something like this, it only means that he believes in me and that He wants me to learn something from this experience. So who am I to question God's decisions?!

Xian Jyle, my son, is now 8 months old and yet whenever I looked at him, I still feel like it was just yesterday when he was kicking inside me. Time flies so fast! I'm still amazed with everything that has happened, from giving birth and now raising this healthy, very sweet, and handsome baby boy. For the past months, I've learned a lot! I've learned that being a mother/parent is something you cant just easily say, "forget it!" or "I quit!". It takes and needs a lot of patience, courage, hard work, dedication, understanding, care, love, etc. It's definitely life changing!

Waking up every morning with my husband Jason and my son Xian Jyle next to me, IS a blessing! Looking back from everything I've been through, now I realized that this is really something that I've been wanting to be from the beginning, to be a MOMMY! I love and enjoy EVERYTHING about it and it's just making me a stronger and better person everyday! I am grateful! :)

Yes, it's a very tough job! But, it's also very REWARDING & FULFILLING! Something I wouldn't trade for anything in this world! So help me pray fellow blogger friends! May God give me wisdom and strength as I now raise this baby! May He help me and Jason to equip Jyle and lead him to fulfill his purpose in this world.

ALL the sleepless nights and tiring days are all worth it!

Our FIRST Wedding Anniversary Celebration!

Looking at the picture above reminded me of all the things we've been through... how everything started. Like how we became good friends back in high school, how he wanted me to be his Senior prom date, how he courted me, his reaction when I said I liked him too, how we explored places and things together, how we dreamed dreams together, and the list could go on. I still cannot believe that we are now married and already passed one year. God is really good!

Since we got married, our life has also become very busy and I really appreciate the fact that Jason still manages to do unexpected things for us to be able to have our quality time together or so we can at least be together. I love that he comes home everyday for lunch just so we can still eat together. I love that even if he's already sleepy and tired from work, he still watches my shows with me. I love that he now texts/calls/chats with me more than he ever did before. He tells me how he misses and loves me even when he is at work. Most importantly, I love that he gave up his Sunday work so he can go to church with the family. I am very proud of Jason because he has matured a lot.

I was also surprised with all the changes that happened to me since I got married. I believe that one of the biggest changes that happened to me is that I have more patience now in everything. I don't yell, shout, or say bad things anymore when I'm mad. HAHA or like say freely that I don't like the person that pissed me off! (I hope my family and friends who would be able to read this would agree.) Well okay, I still do sometimes. But I'm just saying, I have more control over my emotions now. :) I noticed too that I don't spend much money anymore with things that I don't really need. I mean, with the things that I just 'want'. Also, I am now learning to say sorry. Yes, I admit. When it comes to my family and Jason, it's always hard for me to apologize for the things I've done wrong. I guess because of the fact that they are my family and I know they would forgive me anyway, so I just let it go. But now, I have a better understanding of how important it is to say 'sorry'...

After a year of being married, I have no complaints at all. We've encountered numerous obstacles, but we survived and I know we'll continue to surpass them all! Jason's character, his unfailing understanding towards me, his endless patience, and his immeasurable love for me are also the reasons why everyday I can SMILE, despite of all those trials. I am very blessed to have such a superman husband and I thank GOD for He never fails to take care of Jason!

I am excited and looking forward for many more happy and meaningful years with my husband!

Moving on, this is where my handsome husband brought me for our first year Wedding Anniversary dinner. I must say, from the beautiful exterior, luxurious interior, friendly receptionist, knowledgeable server, to sophisticated and delicious menu/food, this is so far one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in the bay area. I give them 5 stars! :)

From the moment we entered the restaurant, Jason and I already felt the difference... we knew it'll be a very interesting and fun experience for us. We can tell that the people who go there are from well off families. Most of them were wearing signature clothes. We're like those couples in romantic comedy movies, who enjoy their adventure in a place they don't really belong, while getting to know each other. HAHA I don't know. It was an unforgettable night. We were just talking about a lot of great things that happened to us in the past years, what we look forward to in the future, and many more. We had a really wonderful time! I loved every minute of it! I love 'US' time! :)

It's interesting that these goodies are their choice of complimentary desserts. It's definitely something I wasn't expecting for them to serve. It was a great twist since everything in the restaurant is so elegant.

So over all, we have come to realize that their food is actually reasonably priced and worth paying for. We will definitely come back!

Then the following weekend, we continued our celebration... a weekend escape at Hyatt Hotel! & for that, you guys will have to come back. I will be posting it this Monday. ;)

It was July 15 when it happened. It was 11pm, I was about to sleep already and Jason was still watching the television when his phone rang. It was one of their co-worker named, Jay. He said that someone called him from the 24 hour Fitness Gym saying that Kuya Bhok (Jason's older brother) passed out while playing basketball there.

Based on Jason's very calm response to the call, I did not worry much. Jason called the other house to ask if Kuya Bhok was there or if he's really at the gym, since it's already late. Jason had a feeling that it might be a prank call or something, so he wants to make sure. He then found out that Kuya Bhok wasn't really home. He rushed to the gym to see how he was doing. But when he got there, the paramedics has already brought Kuya Bhok to the hospital.

At 11:30, Jason informed me via text message that he's in the hospital, waiting to find out what is happening to Kuya Bhok. He said that the nurses told him that they're still checking on him. At that moment, I got scared. I all of a sudden felt like crying. I felt something's not right. In my head, the paramedics won't bring him to the hospital if he wasn't in a serious condition... I prayed. I prayed for his health. I prayed for the doctors and nurses.

Few minutes later, my phone rang. It was Jason... he was crying... and he said, "Bheb, wala na si Kuya Bhok! Wala na siya!" My whole body was shaking. I didn't know what to say or do. I was speechless. I was shocked! I couldn't believe it! It felt so unreal!

Then at the hospital, I saw the whole family bursting into tears... everyone was in pain... my heart was breaking... and finally, I saw Kuya Bhok. I wanted to hug and kiss him. I wanted to wake him up and tell him not to fool around! I wanted to scream! It was terrible! So I prayed again. I prayed for Mommy and Daddy. I prayed for Jason, Jeff, Joven, the kids, most especially Ate Jocelyn and Rain-Rain (Kuya Bhok's wife and 3 year old daughter). I prayed for comfort, strength, and wisdom.

Yes, Kuya Bhok is only 32 years old...very young, I know! But he lived a full life! He got to marry the woman that he truly loved, had a very beautiful daughter, was able to spend most of his time with his family and friends and was able to do what he enjoyed doing, play basketball. It was his time to go.

Today is Kuya Bhok's 4o days. Yes, it has been 40 days and the feeling is still mutual. Everyone in the family are still in pain and it hurts to see them broken, lost, and suffering. Although we will all miss Kuya Bhok so much... his jokes, his laughs, his silly faces, his smiles, and even if he left so many of us that loved him here on Earth... I also know for a fact that our God is an awesome Father! I know that Kuya Bhok is at peace now. He is in a much better place... with our Father and there's no greater thing than being with Him! I believe that God has a WONDERFUL purpose and that we can trust Him in everything. He knows what He's doing! Everything will be alright! Kuya Bhok may not be with us anymore physically but I am 100% sure that his memories will remain here in our hearts. He will always be remembered and loved.

Kuya Bhok, I know you're happier now and in good hands. I just want to thank you for all the memories you have shared with us and for the love. I love you so much! I will miss you! You know that Jason and I will take care of Ate Jocelyn and Rain Rain! So enjoy up there! No goodbyes, just see you soon!

Ate Jocelyn, I know that the pain is unbearable and it's hard. But I want you to know that I am here for you. We (your family) are all here for you and Raine. You are not alone. You will never be alone. We are all in this together! Hang in there, I'm sure Kuya Bhok is also watching over us. I know he wants you to be happy as well. So never give up and always remember, God loves you! I love you! Fight! Fight! Fight! Ikaw pa, kaya mo 'to! ;)

Lord, as we go on with our lives, may you continue to give us the courage to face every trials. May you help, guide, and protect us. We trust none but You alone. Thank you so much for sharing Kuya Bhok to us! Thank you for the life that we have. THANK YOU for our family and friends! We love you.

For Jason and I, marriage is of course one of the scariest! We understand that it is a sacred institution and must be taken seriously. We also know that getting married does not stop us or our relationship, from experiencing trials and that it's not going to be filled with just happy moments.

In fact, we've learned that marriage is like an empty garden. It needs to be carefully, patiently, and lovingly cultivated----in order for its crops to grow. It is a lifetime of service, sacrifice, and forgiveness. Did we ask ourselves if we're really prepared for this? I say, million times. We're both not perfect individuals and we do make mistakes. Our relationship isn't perfect. It never is.

But you know, our relationship would not reach this far if it wasn't because of J E S U S. After everything we've been through, God has been our BIGGEST strength. What am trying to say is that, upon entering this new chapter of our lives together, we ONLY trust GOD to guide us and be the center of every single thing in our relationship or in other words, we'll let Him be the writer/author of our love story. It worked for almost 6 years of our relationship, I'm sure it will still work for our lifetime adventure together. *wink*

Because we both believe that when J E S U S is in every detail of our lives, we can never go wrong.

Since we were still in H.S, we already want to get married here in the states and in our homeland Philippines. Yes, we want to get married twice! It is simply because some of our extended families are not here with us yet and the schedules of some of our important guests from here, are super hard to match. So for their convenience too, we just decided to have two weddings. Why not? :)

We both agreed that when it comes to the whole concept of the wedding here, it will be mostly of what Jason likes. Then of course the Philippine wedding will be my dream wedding. ;)

Jason is a very simple man. He's the kind of guy who enjoys chilling in the couch after working all day and watch movies with the whole family, while eating his favorite chips with tapatio sauce. He's a family guy! So as for the ceremony, we had it in a small chapel with only the people who are really close in our hearts. Just because he wants it to be as intimate as possible.

August is the month Jason and I met back in 2003, eighteen is one of our favorite numbers, and 2010 is the year where we turned in our ideal age to get married. :) This is why we chose August 18 for our wedding day.

The Engagement

Good day fellow bloggers and readers! I hope you are all ready for my mushy love story today. Please brace yourself for this will be a long one. Just kidding! :) HAHA So as my comeback topic, I will start off by sharing one of the most important event and person in my life. If you have been following me since the beginning, you would know the reason behind my giggling heart. LOL Let me introduce the man I have been praying for to be my husband for a very long time, Ric Jason Julian. I've met Jason during our high school years in 2003. We started off as good friends and officially became a couple in 2005.

For the past 5 years and a half of our relationship, just like any other couples out there, it wasn't always a happy and romantic moment for us, many times, it was very challenging and difficult. However, I am very blessed that in those years that we've been together, I am proud to say that Jason did his very best to really take good care of me despite of all those trials! He has been one of my sources of strength. He rescued me from myself, encouraged and supported all my dreams and continuously dreamed dreams with me, understands my moods, happily and willingly watches "dramas" with me, generously buys me flowers, perfumes, books, bags, clothes, etc., excitedly listens to my not-so-beautiful voice, enjoys exploring new places and foods with me, taught me how to cook, prayed with me and the list could go on and on. Oh and did I forget to mention that his patience with me is unquestionable?! Yay! He never fails to make me feel that life is AWESOME! I must say, it has been a super fun 5 year roller coaster ride with him. I cannot complain!

Finally, in February 18 of 2010 at exactly 10 in the morning, this handsome man I have been praying for, asked me to marry him. It was very simple, nothing fancy or extravagant. He just told me on how much he loves me, how grateful he is for being part of my life.... hugged me super tight, bended on his knees, took out the ring and asked me to grow old with him. *giggles* I was speechless! I wanted to cry, laugh loud, dance, and sing... It was surreal. Funny how until now, I'm still speechless thinking about it. LOL I mean, I seriously can't find an exact word that would define how I felt at that special moment. Anyway, I will just let the pictures do the talking! :)P Enjoy!

"Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?"

When it comes to jigsaw puzzles, we all know that to enjoy a satisfying outcome you need all the pieces. In many ways, life is like that. We spend our days putting it together, hoping to create a complete picture out of all the scattered parts.

Yet sometimes it seems like a piece is missing. Perhaps we've been pursuing the wrong pieces to the puzzle. Even though we may know that life without God at the center is a life that has lost the most important piece, do we live as though He isn't particularly relevant? Is He the throbbing center of our lives? Sometimes we grow accustomed to feeling distant from God. This makes it easier to sin, complicating the sense that something important is missing.

But no matter how far we may drift from God, He wants us near. He appealed to His people through the prophet Isaiah: "Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?

Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance." (Isaiah 55:2)

If something is missing in your life, remember that God is the only One who can fully and abundantly satisfy you. Let Him complete the picture of your life. --Joe Stowell

Caramel Apples

Cooking Instructions

Wash apples; core then peel one narrow strip from around top edge. Place apples in a deep baking dish. Fill centers with raisins. Combine flour, sugar and cinnamon. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or fork. Stir in chopped walnuts. Sprinkle crumb mixture over the apples. Pour water and orange juice over apples. Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour, basting occasionally.

Ingredients

6 to 8 medium apples
1/2 cup raisins
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice

SERVE THESE BAKED APPLES WITH CREAM OR ICE CREAM

I am a BIG fan of PHILIPPINE halo-halo! Never fails to change my bad mood cause of SUMMER to amazing mood! ALWAYS perfect for refreshments!

Ice Cream
I scream for Ice Cream!!! It does not matter what season's were in... this will make me go jump in the sky everytime! Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Rocky Road are few of my top favorite flavors. Thanks to whoever discovered and taught of making this special dessert.

GIRLS TALK: LAST TIME I PIG OUT!

Oh my! I'm so sorry if I missed out last GT. It was my last week at work. I had to do A lot of things before my vacation. Anyway, moving on... the last time I pig out was this past 2 weeks! TSK TSK TSK! && I hate it for I gained 2lbs! LOL Oh well... am trying to lose it again this week. You see... going on a diet is REALLY a mindset AND discipline! SIGH!

It's been a loooooooooooooooooong season for WINTER! I miss SUMMER! Oh SUN! Where were you? =) So... to make my SUMMER more exciting, adventurous, and HOT! I am going to my HOMETOWN, PHILIPPINES! Finally... after 7 LONG years! I cannot wait to see my older Sister Givenchi and her family, my cousins, and of course all my FREINDS including BLOGGER FRIENDS! Thanks to my boyfriend and his Dad for paying my air fare ticket! What a WONDERFUL ADVANCE BIRTHDAY surprise/gift! I will be leaving this May 14th and won't be back here in the states 'till June 20th. I will try to keep in touch with all of you while am on my vacation and hopefully i'll have time to share photos.

Here are the things I would LOVE to do there during my vacation:

1. eat FISHBALL, KIKIAM, KWEK-KWEK, and ISAW!
2. LAUGH with all my loved ones
3. WHOLE DAY SPA experience
4. BEACH! BORACAY!

PRAY for my BABY PRINCESS!

I brought my baby Princess to her doctor 2 weeks ago, for her monthly check-up and I was informed that she had a minor RIGHT ear infection. Doctor advised me and Jason (my bf) to JUST to continue cleaning it. Unfortunately though, even we did what we were told to do... STILL... it got worst. Doctor said it's probably because she's scratching it too much that her ear got irritated and there... So I brought her back to the doctor. She was given an ointment/antibiotic and thank GOD for her RIGHT ear looks A lot better now... However, I am still asking for you all to PLEASE include her in your prayers! Her ear may look OKAY... but from what I can see and feel though... deep inside... she really isn't. I feel like there's something wrong, but she couldn't say it. Awww. Poor Baby! Hope she gets better SOON... it BREAKS my HEART every time there's something NOT good going on with my LOVED ones... esp. my BABY PRINCESS and PRINCE!

I love you BABY PRINCESS! GET WELL SOON!

So after posting our GIRLS TALK theme about FOODS... I know it'll be kinda awkward to talk about this... BUT, hey... it's something that CAN help and hopefully INSPIRE you all. I've mentioned in my previous posts that my sister and I are actually on a diet for 1 year now. It hasn't been easy for the both of us, since most of our friends are PARTY people! And am sure you all know that going on a diet is not easy! It's a mindset! Having a positive attitude really helps, when you're losing weight! Of course, the first couple of weeks will be the worst or hardest, because you're putting so much effort and time into something... and wants to see FAST result!

Well, FIRST of all... we have to remember that LOSING WEIGHT has its own limit. I mean, we can't just lose 20 lbs. in 1 or 2 weeks, just because we want or have to?! There's a recommended weight that we can ONLY lose in 2 weeks and NOT every "BODIES" can handle BIG changes! Also, we can't just SKIP breakfast, lunch, or DINNER and lose weight! Or even ELIMINATE our CARB intake or MEAT or whatever! What am trying to say is that... when you're losing weight, there's A lot of things we have to CONSIDER. It is very important to know and understand the CAN and CANNOT, MUST and MUST NOT! It is ALWAYS BEST to seek PROFESSIONAL help, find the PERFECT diet/exercise that will WORK for you and something that you'll enjoy, have DISCIPLINE, make sure your physically and mentally prepared, and of course... NOT GIVING UP, in order to get LOVELY result!

OKAYYY, enough with the lecturing! The main purpose of this entry is not to lecture you guys... but to simply show you my Sister and I's before and after photos! To provide you all... fellow bloggers with the inspiration and motivation to make the changes that will make your life healthier and happier! Just like US! We're both seeing the BIG changes and we're proud to say that FINALLY... after our "NO RICE" diet and consistent WALKING everyday.. we're NOW getting and seeing the result that we've been PRAYING for! YAY! Who would've thought we can do this?! I mean, we've been saying and planning to go on a diet for the past 5 years of our lives and sheesh... HAHAHA. It's really NEVER too late for someone/somebody who are passionate about achieving something! We feel more energized, confident, and sexier now! *woot woot*

GIRLS TALK: Most Expensive Food

Hello! So thee MOST EXPENSIVE FOOD I've ever eaten was at San Francisco near Fisherman's Wharf. For some weird reason, I forgot the name of the restaurant. LOL I'll update this if I remember... It was when Mr. Willie Revillame treated all of us (staff of WOWOWEE Manila and PRODUCTION here in the States) after our Lake Tahoe Show!

It's $60 dollars per person and that $60 dollars worth of food is this!!! They served us delicious appetizers and deserts too, I just didn't get a chance to take pictures of it. Sorry. But, yeah... so worth it... love the pasta and shrimps!!! Yummy!!!

The restaurant's location's near the sea... and it feels like you're eating inside a YACHT. =)
