I'm one of those people who really just wants a phone that I can use to call people. But,in this age of gadgets, I must admit that I like the extras. It's just easier to deal with, the touch screen that is. I like using a cell phone for my morning alarm also and found several of the ringtones very pleasing to awaken to(I set three morning alarms).

I was a little nervous about the triple minutes for life actually coming through. So when I activated the phone I asked the rep if he could tell. He said yes, spent a lot of time with his supervisor, said it was only double minutes and gave me a number to call to "get the triple minutes" since it's not a TracFone promo. When I called the number they said, as I thought, that it was in the phone and if I got 1200 minutes it was triple. I still didn't want to wait to find out that is was not the case, there's only a ninety day warranty and a 7 day return, so I purchased the $10, 30 minute deal online. Sure enough I got 90... I had already purchased two of these a few months before: one double minute direct from TracFone for $50 (20 minutes included), and one triple minutes for life from HSN (1200 minutes included) for $140. 1200 minutes is a tripled 400 minute/1 year card which sells for $99 at TracFone. So just subtract $99 from the price you pay for a TML w 1200 minutes to get what you paying for this fabulous little phone under this offer -- $10.

I bought two more LG 800G's just this week from this vendor because this is one of the best cell phones ever offered by TracFone. Now I have four LG 800G's -- one for myself, one for my wife, and one for each of my daughters. I also purchase a Motorola EX124G TML, but I sent it back to TracFone. In my opinion the LG 800G is a much better value.

Ordered this assuming that it would work in the rather rural area where I live, and really liked the phone when I played with it prior to activation, esp. the touch-screen feature. But, upon trying to activate it online I got a message saying there was a problem with activation and that I had to call Tracfone.

Turns out, Tracfone said that the 800G won't work in my area and they sent me a replacement--unfortunately, an LG501G--which has those pesky very tiny little buttons which I was trying to avoid. However, at least I DID get the 1200 minutes, 1-year activation and am told that I will be getting the triple minutes for life, even with the new phone (haven't tested this by buying minutes, yet).

I'd encourage potential buyers to call Tracfone and make sure the LG800g will work in your area, but then, most folks do not live as far in the boonies as we do!

The LG501g is ok but will likely end up being given to my middle-schooler, who does not mind the... Read more

I got my iPhone 5 today (through carrier sources) though it's yet to be activated and the first thing I did naturally was put the Otterbox Defender case on it. I had the Defender for my 3GS and it protected my phone all these years. Didn't have the iPhone 4/4S so I can't compare it to that. Quick impressions so far:

PROTECTION - Protection wise, the iPhone 5 Defender is at par with the 3GS. Industrial grade protection with complete coverage. Same concept and overall design, though the silicone feels slightly thicker and more solid in the 5. The silicone has a matte finish compared to the smooth finish in the 3GS, which hopefully should help avoid dust and lint - this was the only drawback with the 3GS case, it needed cleaning frequently.

If you're looking for something to protect your phone while it bounces around the bottom of your Jeep, this is the case for you. It looks so tough, in fact, I bet you could run over it with a car--though I won't be testing that theory with mine. Lol

BUT-- it is HUGE. And it is HEAVY. With this case on, the iPhone 5 is bigger than the 4. And the case sits so high off the screen (like the screen is in a level ditch) and so close to the edge of the screen, it makes it really uncomfortable to do basic tasks. Like write an Amazon review. Or text, email, play games...
It's exceedingly annoying.
I would have kept this case despite the size and weight if not for the screen real estate intrusion.
For me, it's a major deal breaker.
Getting something else.

For starters, I have mine on my iPhone 5 and am actually using it right this moment. I purchased both about 3 hours ago at my local VZW store and have been (of course) playing with it ever since.

Overall it's solid and sturdy. I travel weekly so felt like I needed something like this. The iPhone is slippery as heck - in fact I took it out of the otterbox to show my wife and proceeded to drop it in less than a minute - so I definitely need a case. I definitely feel like this is going to hold up for the long haul.

It's not at all difficult to assemble, snap front and back together, then rubber part goes around it - takes maybe a minute to install. Because the otterbox includes a clear cover, make sure your screen is completely clean/fingerprint free before installing or it will be trapped under the clear front of the otterbox.

Awesome product. I didnt even know they came with 3 ear pieces. They were a little sensitive to wind but all in all it was a great deal. i can hear everyone clearly and they were very small and light weight. I highly recommend.

I was a little nervous purchasing in "universal packaging" because the price is so much lower. I was pleasantly surprised. Item was as described and obviously brand new and sealed.
As for the ERA, I haven't made up my mind quite yet between this or the Plantronix Voyager Pro HD which is also very good. I just ordered the Jabra ear gels for the ERA so we'll see. That may make a winner of the two!

Out of nowhere, I was having excruciatingly slow internet speed on Comcast. The Comcast tech advised that my Motorola SB 4100 was at the "end of life" and that I should upgrade. Skeptical, I purchased this modem which is a DOCSIS 3.0 (and backwards compatible) modem. It worked. I went from a 2mbps download speed to over 17mbps. What a difference. There was one installation glitch that you need to be aware of. When you hook up the modem (connect the coax cable, connect the ethernet cable, and plug it in, that's it), and then try to get online, it will direct you to a Comcast self-activation screen (no other site is available). After entering my account number and phone number and hitting the "next" button, I got a blank screen, and nothing happens. So I called Comcast and they said that usually happens if you are doing an upgrade; it mostly works only for a new service connection. I have tried both the SB6120 and the SB6121 and the signal levels and speeds were the same on both.
The SB6121 is a little smaller than the SB6120 but runs much warmer than the SB6120. Looks like they tried to cram too much hardware into too small of a space.

My SB6121 did not come with the power save button (it's listed as an optional feature), so about the only difference between the two models is the design. Both the SB6120 and the SB6121 use the same firmware: labeled SB612X.

So unless you want the different looking LED lights and a smaller and warmer box for a higher price, stay with the SB6120.

As far as speeds are concerned: the multiple channel bonding on these DOCSIS 3.0 modems is nice for sustained constant speeds. It also makes it easier for your ISP to enforce the speed cap if they choose to do so (Comcast in my case does). I was getting 20+ Mbps down and 3+ Mbps up on my old Linksys DOCSIS 2.0 modem, however that was the peak when... Read more

Bottom line: this is a great modem and it works with Comcast. Comcast just doesn't have its act together. This modem is not only on their approved list, it has a three star rating, which, according to Comcast, is "the highest and most thorough level of testing." When the cable installer got here (I got a new line installed), he said that this modem was NOT on the Comcast list. Since I still had my DSL line working, I showed him that not only did Comcast approve the modem but that Comcast thoroughly tested it. He had to call the "office" to activate the internet service. The "office" didn't want to set up internet service for this modem; the "office" stated that this wasn't an approved modem.
