How to remove Cortana in windows 10

Cortana in Windows 10 uses a lot of resources. You can safely remove or disable Cortana in windows 10.

There are two methods you can use to disable Cortana. Use method 1 if you have windows 10 Professional or above version. If you have windows home or premium version please use method 2.

I strongly recommend you to create the system restore before using any of the below methods. So if you run into any issue you can always go back to the previous stage of the windows.

Method 1:

Type Group Policy in Windows 10 Search

Open Group Policy editor

Navigate to Local group Policy --> Administrative template --> Windows components --> Search (Please check Image above)

Here right-hand side you will see Allow Cortana.

Double click and open it. Here click on Disable and press Apply and OK

Reboot your computer. Now you will still see Cortana in windows 10 process but it will run only for windows search.

Method 2:

If you have windows 10 home or premium version you need to use the registry editor to disable Cortana.

Open registry editor by typing Regedit in windows search

Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search

Righ hand side you will see AllowCortana . Double click on it and change Hexadecimal value to 0

Reboot your PC. If you don't see AllowCotrana right click on blank space and create Dword. Make sure you name exactly AllowCortana (A and C capital)

Internet connected but not working windows 10 (Solved)

Many of my clients have this issue with Internet connection on windows 10. It says the Internet-connected but not working. I thought writing blog on this issue may help many people here.

First of all, make sure your internet is working using other laptop or mobile device. Once you are sure Modem or internet provider does not have the issue you can go ahead and try the below solution.

Method 1: This method will solve the issue temporary. Once you will restart PC it will have the same issue.

Open Command prompt
Type CMD in search and right click and click RUN as Administrator
Once command prompt open Type netsh int ip reset Press OK

Check your Internet will start working

Method 2: Permanent solution of the issue "Internet connected but not working"

Open device manager (type device manager and open it)

Here look for Network Adapter and expand it. Right click on wi fi network adapter and click on Uninstall Device.

Once it is uninstalled restart your Laptop. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver. Your Internet will start working.

If it still says the Internet-connected but not working. go to device manager as per above instruction and right click on wifi network device and click update driver.

Superfatch is using lot of disk power windows 10

Superfatch service is using lot of CPU and Disk. Is it safe to turn off ? How to turn off Superfatch service on windows 10

What is Superfatch Service ?

Superfatch service is windows service. By default it runs automatically. Superfatch is designed to speedup application launching by Preloading application using your usage pattern. Sometimes this affect your computer performance. It is good for PCs with higher end CPU and good amount of RAM. for slower PC it is horrible.

How to turn off Superfatch service:

Method 1:

Press Windows Key + R
In search Type Services.msc
In services look for Superfatch
Double click on Superfatch
Click on Stop (This will stop the service)
Under Startup Click on Disable
Press OK

Method 2:

If you cant stop service using services you can use registry editor.

Open registry editor pressing Windows Key and R and typing Regedit

Navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Session Manager
MemoryManagement
PrefetchParameters

Double click on Superfatch and change value to 0 and press OK

registry changes may damage your PC so you must take extra care. Do not use registry editor if you are not computer expert.

Disabled message on iPAD. Enable the disabled iPAD without loosing data - SOLVED

Last week my son has entered wrong password many times and it disabled my iPAD. When i turn my ipad on it was giving me Disabled message on my iPAD.

This method also works with disabled iPhone. This method helps you to enable your disabled iPAD or iPhone without loosing data.

There are two methods to enable iPAD. first one is to factory restore your iPAD and other one is just enable without loosing data.

Enable the disabled iPAD without loosing data.

1. Open iTune on your computer. Make sure do not connect to your iPAD to computer yet (this computer must be the same computer where your iPAD is sync last time)

2. Now connect your disabled iPAD to computer and wait for this to display in iTune

3. Click on your iPAD name and it will give you two options. Restore the backup or setup new iPAD

4. Now click on Setup new iPAD and then click Restore

5. The iPAD will automatically start backing up. Make sure to CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. you can cancel by clicking x on stats window in iTune.

6. When back up cancels it will start automatically syncing. . cancel this as well by clicking x on status window in iTune

7. It will start restore your iPad. The first process in restoring iPAD unlock your iPAD. As soon as your iPAD is unlocks make sure to cancel restore process as well.

This method works on disabled iPhone as well.

Dropbox Password Hacked

An unnamed hacker group is claiming that it has accessed more then 6 Million Dropbox accounts, and if they will be paid enough in Bitcoin, the group intends to publish more than the 1,200 usernames and passwords that it has released.

After this publication online, Dropbox issued a statement saying that their server had not been hacked. The username and password had been stollen from other services and was used to login to Dropbox account.

Dropbox still issued warning to users to change their password and enable two way authentication.

It is better to change password even you think your account has not been compromised.

windows 8 ERROR NAME: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT STOP Code: 0x0000001A SOLVED

Many windows 8 users get Memory_management stop error 0x0000001A and Blue screen of death

This is related software or hardware issue. Follow below steps to solve this issue.

1) Log in to Windows 8

2) press "Windows key" and "R" together to open Run apps

3) Type "CMD" and press OK

4) in Command prompt type " SFC /scannow"

5) Let it run and then restart computer

6) Check if this error goes away

If you still have issue then it could be faulty physical RAM. try removing and inserting RAM again otherwise change RAM

Can not install Program on MAC: Unidentified Developers

MAC : Program does not install on MAC. error: Program cant be opened because it is from Unidentified Developers.

This is becasue of security reason. You can change this settings.

Click on Apple symbol on left hand side top and select System Preference.

1. Apple icon --> System Preference

2. Click on Security & Privacy

3. Make sure general TAB is selected and click on Lock Sign at bottom.

4. It will ask MAC username and password. supply login details and click ok.

5. change it to Anywhere and close system preference.

6. Install Program.

Make sure to change settings back to MAC apple store and identified developer

Solved: iPhone 5 does not ring only vibrate

If your iPhone 5 does not ring then follow below steps.

iPhone 5 has silent button on left hand side. Make sure it is not on silent. The button is small rectangle and you can move up and down. Try now and see if it works,

Make sure it is not on "DO NOT DISTURB" go to settings --> General and make sure do not disturb is turned off. Try now.

Turn off Blue tooth and see if it works.

Do soft reset and see if it works. to do soft reset press and hold turn off button and middle button for 10 seconds until you see apple logo.

SOLVED: Error Applying Security - Windows

Applying security error Access dined is most common error when you try to copy files on folder.

There is simple solution of this issue. Take ownership of the folder.

Follow below steps to fix security error on windows.

Right click on Drive (either c or d r what ever name)

click on Properties

Go to Security TAB

Click on Advanced at bottom

Click on Owner

Click on Edit

Select your log on name

Click Apply and OK

Now try again and you should able to copy or delete file from that drive.

Exchange 2010 error 451 4.4.0 - SOLVED

Error 451 4.4.0 Exchange 2010 is related to DNS query failed. If you have this error on your server then simple work around will solve.

1. First of all open the Exchange Management Console

2. The expand the Server Configuration option

3. Select properties of server by right clicking on the server

4. Now under property click on External DNS Lookups option

5. Here select the option use these DNS Servers button and add the external DNS IP addresses of your ISP. (You can get by calling ISP)

6. Save the configuration by clicking Save button

7. Now its time to go on send connector TAB

8. Expand the Organization Configuration and click on tab called Send Connectors

9. Select properties by right clicking on send connector

10. Here select Network TAB

11. Select option to use domain name system MX records to route mail automatically and make sure to tick the Use the External DNS Lookup settings on the transport server

After doing these steps exchange will process all the queue emails.

Enable Laptop touch pad using Keyboard (Without Mouse)

If you have accidentaly disabled your laptop touch pad then you can enable it by following steps mention here. Click here to enable touchpad if you have access to external mouse.

In case if you do not have access to mouse then follow below steps to enable touchpad without mouse.

1. Look for

sign. If you can find this (usually under F3 or F6 key) then press and hold function key and press that key with above mentioned symbol.

2. If you can not find above mentioned symbol then use your keyboard to enable touchpad.

1. Press the Start key on the keyboard (the one with the Windows icon).

2. Type mouse in the search box.

3. Use the cursor keys to highlight the Change Mouse Properties option and press Enter .

4. In Mouse Properties use CTRL+TAB to go to the Device Settings menu.

5. Use the cursor keys to highlight the TouchPad under Devices .

6. Use the TAB key to highlight the Enable button and press Enter

7. Click the OK button to accept changes and close the mouse properties window.

TouchPad disabled on HP EliteBook laptop

Touchpad disabled and Pointer not working on HP EliteBook laptop.

If your touchpad is not working and you see orange light on touchpad, it means your touchpad has been disabled.

You may have disabled accidently by hitting corner of touchpad twice. You need external mouse to do below steps or you can use keyboard on HP Elite book and middle round button

Follow below steps to enable touchpad again

--> Click Start and go to control panel

2--> Make sure View By Large Icon is selected under control page top right hand side corner

--> Double click on Mouse icon to open it

--> Go to Device settings and make sure all devices are enabled.

--> If any device says Enabled NO then select that device and click Enable

--> Now click Apply and Click OK

--> Your mouse pad should work now

Windows 8 error 651

After upgrading my laptop to windows 8 my internet stopped working. I was getting error 651 on my windows 8 laptop. After spending approx. 4 days finally I found solution.

I know many users still have this issue after upgrading to windows 8. I have followed below steps.

1) Go to C drive (press windows key and R key on keyboard and Type C:\ and press enter)

2) Double click on Windows folder

3) Double click on System 32 folder

4) double click on Drivers folder

5) find raspppoe.sys and rename it to something like old_raspppoe.sys Make sure do not delete this file as you may need it if this method does not work for you.

6) Find another windows 8 computer and copy this file on USB from C:\windows\sydney32\drivers\raspppoe.sys

7) Paste this file on faulty computer's drivers folder (path C:\windows\sydney32\drivers\)

8) Reboot your computer and try to connect to internet.

windows 8 blue screen of death with the error System Service Exception

One of my clients bought new laptop last month and he kept getting blue screen of death with error "System Service Exception" on windows 8 computer.

After spending lot of hours finally i figured out the issue. The issue was with one of the windows update KB2778344.

If you have similar issue then follow below steps to un install this update and prevent for future update of this perticular update.

1) On your desktop

-- right-click the lower left corner of the Desktop screen
-- go to Program and Features
-- Click on View installed updates
-- Now locate "Security Update for Windows KB2778344 and uninstall this update.

2) Now you need to hide this update from windows update to prevent this particular update to install automatically on your computer.

3) On your Desktop,

-- right-click the Action Center icon on the taskbar
-- Open Windows Update
-- Change settings and under "Important updates"
-- Choose "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them"
-- Press OK
-- Now when KB2778344 shows up as an "important update", right-click on it and select "Hide update"

Once done. restart your computer and you will not get this blue screen of death anymore.

When i tried to update my windows 8 first time i got error message windows 8 update error 8024800a

After spending about 3 hours i found solution and thought other windows 8 user have same issue.

Follow below steps if you get error " windows 8 update error 8024800a " during updates.

First of click Start (Windows 8 does not have start button. so press windows key and R key together)

Type: cmd

Now type under cmd windows: net stop wuauserv (This will stop update service)

Hit Enter

Type: ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old (This will change folder name)

Hit Enter

Type: net start wuauserv (This will start windows update service)

Hit Enter

Now exit from command windows and try to update windows again. It should work now.

There are many reasons behind computer running slow. If your computer is running very slow you can follow below steps. These are basic steps and you can do by your self and can make computer fast.

Step 1: Remove un-necessary programmes:

- Click on Start

- Go to control panel

- Double click on Programme and Features

- Remove un necessary programme

- Restart your computer

Step 2: Disable unnecessary start up items:

- Click Start and in search type MSCONFIG

- This will open New windows

- --> Click on Start up TAB and un tick unnecessary services. Such as google updates, adobe reader etc.

- Restart your computer

Step 3: Remove Temporary files:

- Download Temp file cleaner click here

- Save it on desktop

- Double click on temp file cleaner and click start

- This will remove all temporary files from your computer. It will also remove files from Recycle bin and recently typed web addresses.

Step 4: Defragment hard disk:

- Click Start and go to All Programmes

- Click on Accessories and under System tools you will find Disk Defragment

- Run this one

How to Remove Virus

Removing Virus from computer is simple process. Most of people can do it by them self. Save this page as your Favourite so you can come back once your computer has been restarted.

Follow below steps if your computer has infected by Virus.

1. Click start and in search type MSCONFIG

2. This will open new window (see image)

3. Click on Start Up and untick unnecessary startup items

4. Click ok and Restart your computer.

5. Once your computer is restarted. open your AV and do Full scan.

6. In most cases this will solve your issue.

7. If you can not start your computer in normal mode then start in Safe Mode by pressing F8 button while booting. and then follow step 1 to 5.

Outlook 2011 won't open on MAC

Outlook 2011 Keeps crashing on iMAC

Outlook crashing is common issue on MAC. Sometimes on MAC when you start outlook it just open for a moment and disappear automatically.

This is issue with main identity (Microsoft Database) on MAC. You can simply rebuild database to solve this issue. Before you follow below steps please make sure you have back up of database.

1. Quit all office application on MAC

2. Hold option key and click on Outlook

3. It will open Microsoft Database utility window.

4. If this does not open Microsoft database utility window then follow below steps.

4.1 Open finder

4.2 Go to application folder

4.3 Go to Microsoft office 2011 folder

4.4 You will see Microsoft database utility there

5. Once you Microsoft Database utility opens then select Main identity and click on rebuild

6. It will create and rebuild main identity

7. Now try to open outlook 2011 and see if this works.

Volume control button does not display in taskbar

Error: Windows can not display the volume control on the taskbar because the volume control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove programme in control panel.

Last week my computer was infected with virus. I managed to remove virus using virus software but some how AV software has damaged volume file on my computer.

When i went to control panel and tried to enable volume icon for desktop i was getting error : program is not installed. Use add remove button.

After lot of search and doing some try error method i was finally able to fix this issue.

Cause:

This problem happens when sndvol32.exe file is missing or corrupted.

Solution 1 :

1. Place XP CD in DVD drive

2. Open command prompt (Click start and click on RUN. Type cmd in Run and press enter)

3. Now find out your CD drive. Assume you have D as your cd drive

4. In command prompt type following command.

expand D:\i386\sndvol32.ex_ c:\windows\system32\sndvol32.exe

5. Once command runs close command prompt

6. Reboot your computer

7. Now again go to Control Panel, Audio settings and clcik Place Volume icon in the taskbar.

WINMAIL.DAT issue on MAC

Many MAC users receive email attachment as winmail.dat. They wonder why they receive attachment as winmail.dat and how to open winmail.dat attachment. There are many application you can use to open winmail.dat file

In this blog I will explain what windows (Outlook) user can do so receiver (MAC users) can open their attachment.

You can change registry settings on your exchange server but I personally do not like to play with registry on server so my solution is on client side.

1. Open Outlook contacts

2. Open contact who use MAC and receives your attachment as winmail.dat

3. Right click on email address and select outlook Property

4. Select internet format : Send as pain text only (please refer image)

5. Now MAC user will see your attachment as normal attachment

Can't send receive MMS on Galaxy S2

When i received my Samsung Galaxy S2 i was not able to send or receive MMS (Picture message) on my Galaxy S2. it was frustrating.

After doing lot of research i found out it is APN settings on phone. I tried to change APN setting manually but did not work.

So i called my service provider (TPG) and they send setting by SMS and once i installed settings it starts working. I do not know exactly what was wrong in settings but it worked.

If you have same issue can not send or receive MMS then i suggest to call your service provider and ask them to send you settings instead of searching internet.

Youtube Icon missing on iPAD and iPhone OS 6

Last week i had upgraded my iPAD to its new OS 6. After installing new OS i have found i am missing Youtube icon. It happened on iPhone as well. After installing new software on iPhone i found youtube icon is missing from iPhone.

After doing some reaserch i have found Apple has removed Youtube application from its OS 6.

For iPhone Users:

If you are iPhone user and missing youtube icon then you can go to Apps store and search for "Youtube". Luckly there is free youtube apps available for iPhone users. You can indtall it and enjoy Youtube.

For iPad Users:

There is no Youtube apps available for iPad users. If you are missing Youtube on your iPAD then you cant use iPhone youtube apps or can use alternative youtube apps. iPhone Youtube for iPAD is to small to use on iPad but you can use "Jasmine - The youtube Client". It is eactly same as youtube Apps. Obviously little changes but easy to use.

Youtube Apps for iPAD is coming soon. Meanwhile you can use Jasmine apps to watch youtube videos.
