Abah’s Question, My Ramadan Reflection

Every Ramadan, I will always remember my dad’s ‘keeping me on my toes question’.

And the question was -

…. ‘Juzuk berapa dah baca Quran sekarang?’ (How many chapters of Quran have you recited up to now?)❤️

He asked this question many many times throughout Ramadan😍

Every single year. Without fail.

Ever since I was small until his very last Ramadan with us - which when I was already over 40 years old!

I guess in his eyes we (me & my siblings) are all still his little children even when we have our own little children ourselves 😅

And now I asked Tariq this same question 🥰

Many many times too throughout Ramadan 😅🥰

…… Tariq, Juzuk berapa dah baca Quran sekarang, sayang..? (How many chapters of the Quran have you recited up to now?)❤️

And now I get it why my dad loves to ask us this simple yet important question.

Coz every time I asked Tariq, his answer always brings joy and happiness to my heart, Alhamdulillah 🥰

It makes me know that he is on track.

That he is reciting Quran this Ramadan, Alhamdulillah.

That he is following the practises on Rasulullah SAW and his sahabah, InshaAllah.

That he is learning to love the Quran and InshaAllah Quran loves him too, Aamiin ya Allah.

That he is building his relationship with his Quran, Alhamdulillah.

And that he is preparing for his life in the hereafter, InshaAllah.

Thank you Abah for always keeping me on my toes, for always checking on my Quran recitation during Ramadan.

And now your grandson is benefitting from your questions too, InshaAllah😍

May you and mum continue to receive all the good deeds and practises and beneficial knowledge you both have taught us all.

Yesterday, 17th Ramadan 1446H, Tariq turns 14 years old, Alhamdulillah! 😍

And this year Tariq requested for a special Ramadan themed cake.

Coz you said that this Ramadan is super special as it marks the first year you will be accountable for every of your deeds and actions!

Mama doesnt know where the time goes, sayang.

Really.

One moment you are this one block of cheeky little toddler😍

Drolling most of the time.

Loves hiding under tables.

Always giggling happily doing things.

Then Mama blink.

And now you are a teenager! 🤩

Still drolling sometimes. Over food mainly.

Loves hiding behind doors coz lets face it, you cant fit under tables anymore. 😂

And still always love to crack jokes and laughing away!

Bringing Back The Spirit and Culture of Tadabbur : Inspirational Story as a Parent

Weeks leading to Ramadan, Tariq was invited to be a guest in a special project called ‘Quran Quest 30 under 30’ by Soul Digest! 🥳

The aim of this project is to bring back the spirit and culture of Tadabbur (ie reflecting upon the meaning of the verses in the Quran) in Muslim families all over the world, InshaAllah! 🤩

Naturally, we were so grateful and excited for the opportunity given, Alhamdulillah!! ❤️🥰

A few days before Ramadan, the recording took place.

So together with me and Teacher Mukaddam (an Australian who is a medical student in USIM), Tariq did a tadabbur session by exploring and contemplating Surah 'Abasa.🥰

MashaAllah, we all learn so much by discussing this Surah Abasa which means He Frowned.😍

Pointers of Surah:

1. The adab and manners towards someone seeking knowledge and towards others in general. Even frowning upon a blind man is a no-no even though the blind man couldn’t see our frowning face!

2. The reality of Allah’s Creations - the human, the birth, the death, the life, the food, the fruits, the trees, the grains, the animals He created

3. The reality and horror of the Day of Resurrection

Allah… so much to reflect upon… 🥺

Recording took around 30mins but

sharing just the short version here.

The longer version will be shared on Soul Digest YouTube channel later, InshaAllah.

May our Quran becomes our bestfriend this Ramadan and beyond, Aamiin ya Rabb! 💖

One of The Best Time to Ask Allah : Inspirational Story as a Parent

Yesterday half an hour before breaking his fast, I reminded Tariq to start making doaa.

…Quick, sayang.., this is one of the best time to ask Allah coz it is time where Allah promised our prayers and doas are maqbool and He will grant your requests!, I said excitedly 🤩🥰

Tariq immediately sat beside me, took a breather and said..,

… Mama.., I want to ask Allah that I can eat KFC Fried Chicken as much as I want..!, he said giggling away

Adoi… Tariq.. so cheeky 😂

Ingat food, je!! 🤪

… Sayang, you are about to raise your hands in front of the King of the kings, the Owner of all Creations, the Greatest One, the All-Powerful and the One who promised He will grant your wishes..❤️

…. and you ask for merely pennies from Him.. come on, sayang… try harder…., I answered giggling away too😅

…. Ask for something that matches His Greatness, sayang.., ask for something for your future.. ask for your hereafter… ask for your present world… ask for something that looks impossible for you to achieve, ask for something that suits His Majesty.., I continued

With that, Tariq took a deep breath, close his eyes, raise his hands and submit his doaas and prayers to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, the Mightiest of all, the King of the kings.❤️🌟❤️🌟

May Allah grant all your wishes sayang, 🌺

May Allah fulfill all your dreams and aspirations, 🌹

May Allah grants your doas 🌺

And May you always understand that everything is in His Hands🥰

Faith and Fiction : Inspirational Story as a Parent

Early this year, Allah rezeki kan that I found an online Creative Writing Club for Tariq, Alhamdulillah! 🤩

Many weeks later, Tariq said that this is one of his favourite classes, MashaAllah Alhamdulillah!! 🥳💖

Taught by a writer herself, the Creative Writing Club members meet weekly and they are guided on how to write short stories from different type of genres every single week such as Historical Fiction, Espionage Fiction, Spy Fiction, Mystery Thrillers, Children Fiction and many more, SubhanAllah! 😍

So Tariq’s first genre he wrote on the first week of his Club meet was Historical Fiction.

And I was super delighted that Tariq did very well as he blended his knowledge of History and Science with his wild imagination, Alhamdulillah!🥰🥰

However, reading one paragraph he wrote (below), I knew I had a job to do.

[Mushtuk became unconscious and when he woke up he saw his body dying with only little water left, recreated it into a new body and with last droplet he sent his soul into the new body, so he was stronger than ever.]

… Tariq, can you tell me what is wrong with this paragraph that you wrote..? I asked him

Tariq looked at it for 2 seconds and answered..,

…. Incarnation and challenging Allah.., Mama…, said Tariq slowly

…. Yes, sayang, what you wrote here can lead to Shirk, nauzubillah. I know you have to use your imagination, but whatever imagination you have, it must not go against your belief and creed as a Muslim, understand, sayang..?

…. Understand Mama…, said Tariq

…. Now correct it sayang. Think as a Muslim and re-write this paragraph.., I said to Tariq

And he did! 🥰

Once upon a time, a tribe ruled over the Turkish lands with their powerful and mighty dragons soaring high over the sky.

One day a boy named Karslan and his friend Mushtuk saw a dying star falling down to Earth. To be more precise, towards them.

They tried to run to avoid the impact but it was too fast and hit them.

When the duo woke up they were astonished. They survived the impact.

But just when they thought they were safe, a mysterious creature came out of the dying star. The creature told them “ you only have ten days to find the core and stop the apocalypse from happening “.

And with that the alien died. Then they did any normal person would do- cry and scream.

When Karslan screamed, fire burst out of his hands. He was surprised and scared, but he knew that it could help people.

When his friend Mushtuk cried, fountains and lakes open from his tears so, he knew that he could control water.

When they found they had the abilities, they sneakily went back to their tents and told the leader what happened.

The leader believed them. At first they were surprised but the leader told them that their ancestors said this day would come.

So the leader said the core is actually something called Crisilian located at the Centre of the Earth.

They prepared and left the next day.

After 2 days, they reached the Centre of the Earth. They found the Crisilian. But they also found out that the Crisilian can enhance their powers.

Karslan grew greedy for power and betrayed Mushtuk.

Mushtuk became unconscious. And when he woke up he knew his body was weak and dying. And he made a prayer to Allah for strength and Allah accepted it and he became stronger than ever.

He chased after Karslan days on end. On the last day he finally saw what could cause the apocalypse.

A huge asteroid the size of the sun dive towards them. Then he saw Karslan, he snatched the core and broke it. The crystal inside was the real core . He threw it towards the asteroid and the asteroid flew away.

The end.

Balancing On Fast Moving Water : Inspirational Story as a Parent

Go baby go!

Weeks ago, Allah rezekikan that I found a surfing school and asked Tariq if he is interested to explore, Alhamdulillah! 🥰

He gave a definite and excited YES so we signed him up.🥳

And just within a few classes, Tariq is able to surf standing, moving back and front, left and right, do a yoyo and body roll, MashaAllah! 🤩

What rezeki it was for Tariq to learn this new skill.🥰

We always thought we had to take a 13-hours flight and travel 11,000 kilometres to Hawaii just for Tariq to experience surfing.🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️

Never thought Tariq could experience this just 20 mins away from his grandpa’s house! 🏡

SubhanAllah, Allah’s Plan is definitely the Best of Plans, Alhamdulillah!💕

As I excitedly watched Tariq acquire new skill, I was more excited thinking about what is happening to his brain and muscles!

Basic fact is that the richer the knowledge base we have, the better it will be for us!

Coz learning new things literally changes the physical structures of our brain!🧠

When we stimulate the neurons in the brain, the brain will form more pathways.

The more pathways we have, the better it is for us.

As it will enhance our cognitive processes like problem solving and reasoning, InshaAllah!🤩

And how do we increase our knowledge base and make it richer?

- By reading and by experience!

And come to think of it, isn’t that the first word that Allah revealed to our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW 1400 years ago?

As I sat there smiling looking at Tariq standing on the surf board, balancing on fast moving water, falling off the board, pushed by the water, stand up and try again and again and again, I cannot help it but feel very grateful.

Grateful for this wonderful rezeki from Allah to Tariq!💖

Mama’s Boy going into the Forest to gain valuable knowledge

That day on the way to Forest School, I told Tariq that me, my brother and sister are going to visit one of his Atok and Tok Mak’s closest friends - Nenda Chah and Tok Mat 🤩

…. Really Mama? But why…? Are they Okay..?, asked Tariq

… Oh dont worry, they are well sayang… Alhamdulillah… 🥰

…. We are going to see them coz it is one of our responsibilities…❤️

…. Because Prophet Muhammad SAW said one of the acts of obedience of a child to their parents after their parent’s death is to maintain the relationship with their parents loved ones.., I explained to Tariq

… Oh… that is so nice Mama.., he answered smiling

…Totally sayang…. 🥰

… and there are many ways to maintain ties too….

…. like visiting them, sending text messages from time to time asking how they are, calling them on their phones or sending them gifts etc etc…, I explained to Tariq

So that day,

As me, my brother and sister waited for Aunty Chah and Uncle Mat to arrive, I told my sister that I felt super happy.🥰

The thought of our parents’ happiness upon receiving expansion of their graves and gifts from us made me cry 😭😭😭

As we sat there at the table in Aunty and Uncle’s famous Puteri Restaurant in Sungai Penchala, I feel like I am with my own parents.😍

We ate, laughed, giggled.

They shared many old memories with us.💕

And they depart lots of wisdom about life too.❤️

Thank you Aunty Chah and Uncle Mat for having us that day.🤗

Thank you for the hugs and love.❤️

Thank you for giving us back some beautiful memories of our parents.

Relexation - Now Vs The Hereafter : Inspirational Story as a Parent

As a homeschooler, I scheduled Fridays to be one of Tariq’s rest day.😍

So that morning he was enjoying his movie time on Apple TV.

As he stretches himself while giggling away, Tariq said…

…. Mama, I cannot believe that I have this whole day to just relax and enjoy myself!, he said smiling ear to ear 😂

…. Are you enjoying your rest day sayang?

…..Yes Mama… I definitely do! Tariq feel so relax and happy right now, Alhamdulillah..! answered Tariq smiling away🥰

…. Well, you know Tariq… That is what akhirat will feel like sayang…

….. After working so hard in this world…

…. doing things that Allah instructed you like - solat, solat on time, fasting, recite Quran, making lots of zikir and selawat….

…. doing things to serve His creations like - take care of your manners, guard your mouth, be kind to others, do charity, help others etc

…. doing things for yourself so you become a better and stronger Muslim like - attend classes to gain knowledge, swim, horse riding and Archery etc

…. continuously guarding yourself from falling into traps of the devil, its helpers and Dajjal….

All those hard work you do every single day - day in day out…

Then suddenly, the day Allah takes your soul and not return it to your body, you will find yourself in the dark grave.

And inshaAllah you die with Husnul Khatimah a blessed death, your soul who has been working so hard in this world… suddenly is just relaxing in the barzakh grave- no more solat, no more fasting, no need to recite Quran, no need to learn anything, no need to work hard…

…. Our souls just will be relaxing sayang…. like today… ❤️

Best kan?, I said to Tariq 🤩

…. Best sangat Mama!!, said Tariq😍

But this remember Tariq.., relaxation in the hereafter ada syarat…. Provided you spend your time when you are in the world, working hard to earn Allah’s love and pleasure…

Tariq finally got his TKD Black Belt Uniform and his Black Belt with his name beautifully sown unto the Belt!🥳🥳

It took longer for him coz we need to customized his uniform.

Needless to say, he was a super happy boy, Alhamdulillah!

And equally happy was his Baba coz suddenly he also got his name on Tariq’s Belt too!🤣🤣

I jokingly said to him that this is the case of lembu punya susu sapi dapat nama! 😂

And Mama’s happiness?

Is simply to see both of you as happy as can be, Alhamdulillah 🥰🥰🥰

Midnight Starlight Walk : Inspirational Story as a Parent

2 weeks ago, Allah rezekikan Tariq to join a program called Midnight Starlight Walk!

True to its name, yes the class was held at midnight - between 11pm-3am!

And yes under the Starlight (and Moon light)!

And it involved walking.

Lots of walking. Along the Beach and right into the middle of the sea too!!

Tariq and friends got to explore, witness and learn about some amazing night creatures that only can be seen after midnight when the tide was super low.

SubhanAllah!

Truly, Allah has created the most amazing sea night creatives all hidden from us.

We kept saying SubhanAllah SubhanAllah MashaAllah throughout the night as Allah revealed His Creations to us ❤️❤️❤️

Not only animals, Tariq got to see 4 different types of mangroove trees that had 4 different types of respiratory system.

These trees ‘lungs’ are inside water most of the time and can only be seen when the tides are really low.

It was truly an amazing learning for Tariq.

He went home super tired but truly happy that day Alhamdulillah!

Truly, learning outside classroom with hands on experience is the best! 🥰🥰❤️❤️

Imaginary Conversation : Inspirational Story as a Parent

Sulking for 2 mins when his reward token redemption request rejected

Jumaat Mubarak, everyone!

Because me and Tariq’s Baba decided that we will always celebrate Tariq’s growth and his efforts since small, it became more and more difficult for me to find gifts to reward Tariq for all his milestones and achievements, Alhamdulillah!❤️

First of all, just like his Baba (and unlike his Mama) Tariq doesn’t have much worldly material wants. 😅

Seriously.

Except for books, maybe.

Secondly, the gifts that I think would excites Tariq, actually only excites me!

Hahahaha

So I gave up and came out with a better system - reward token!🥰🥰

For every significant milestone or achievement Tariq got, we give him reward in the form of reward tokens.

And he can redeem his tokens by asking whatever he wants whenever he wants them.

Except for playing games.

But that day, Tariq tried his luck and asked..,

Mama.., can Tariq redeem one of my reward tokens to play Velorant games… pleaseee… just one game!

Sure, sayang can… for 5 mins.., I said

What..!!! 5 mins only….. so not worth it.., he mumbled

Well, your call, sayang.., I replied

Fine, Mama…, Tariq said in a sad voice and muncung mouth..,

… I will just play games in Jannah… but that time, Mama cannot say no and cannot limit my time.., promise..?

And Thank you too Kakak Princess who tirelessly conducting the Hafazan classes for Tariq! Thank you sayang 😘😘😘

Mama and Baba are so happy and grateful to Allah beyond words! 🥰🥰🥰

Mama knows it is not an easy task for you, sayang…

You memorize your Quran while at the same time having all your classes on - Swimming, TKD, Ninja, Horseback Archery, Jungle classes, Beach classes, Chess, Coding, Maths, Science, English, Arabic, BM, Sirah, Public Speaking etc etc etc

That day me and Tariq were having our borak2 time - moving casually from one topic to another🥰🥰

Then Tariq said..,

… Mama.., you know… that day when you refused to eat during the Annual dinner at my TKD course, I was so impressed with you..

Omg!!!

Nak tergelak hearing Tariq used the word ‘impressed’ with me.😂

… Why were you impressed with Mama, sayang..?, I probed further as I giggled away

… Coz you said you just paid for my dinner… and you didnt pay for your portion so you cannot eat…

… Even when I said ambik la a class of drink or at least one kuih Mama… you still said No even though no one will know if you take that kuih to eat or drink.., said Tariq

… And that day was not the first time Tariq saw Mama didnt want to take something you said you have no right to… even if no one else will know about it…

… Mama do it many many times…, said Tariq

Allahu Akbar, SubhanAllah..😭😭😭

I feel like crying… really…

We all know children watch us and copy adults all the time

But for Tariq to say it to my face..

It scared the hell out of me.

The fact that our children watch and observe us all the time becomes so real!

The first thing that cross my mind is what are the wrong things, the not so good things, the bad things that I have knowingly or unknowingly shown to Tariq? 💔

How many unimpressive things that Tariq saw me doing..?

That conversation has played in my mind over and over again.

Truly, it is our children that makes us want to be a better person.

It is because of our children that we want to hold a higher ethical standard.

It is because of our children we correct our manners.

It is because of our children we leave the nonsense we used to do before we had them.

Because we know they are watching us, they copy us and they paste those things they watch us do, unto themselves 😭

Good or bad.

Allah…

We parents and adults sometimes think that we are the only one shaping our children.

Truth is, they shaped us too.

Thank you Allah rezekikan that I found out what was on Tariq’s mind

Thank you Allah for making Tariq innocently share his evaluation of my conducts.

Thank you Allah for always sending me guidance thru Tariq so I can be a better servant of Yours.

That day, we were talking and suddenly Tariq confessed…

… Mama, you know…. actually during the Grading…I did not have the confidence that I will pass my Back Belt… I didnt think I will pass… I was shocked myself when I did.., said Tariq🥺

… Really, sayang..?, I asked Tariq

…. Yes, Mama… really.., said Tariq🥺

… You know why you dont have the confident..? I probed further

…. Because I was scared..? answered Tariq unsure

…. No, sayang…

… You feel like you dont have the confident because in your mind you totally depended on yourself, your effort, your skills to pass your Black Belt grading…, I said

…. That puts a very heavy burden on your heart… you put a very heavy burden on yourself… that’s why you were unsure and have doubt if you can pass…, I said

…. Who do you think you should have put your trust and confidence in.., I further asked Tariq

…. Allah…., said Tariq slowly as he nodded ❤️

… Yes, sayang… exactly…. If you just shift the burden of making you successful to Allah.., if you tell yourself that you are totally dependent on Allah to grant you success.., giving all your trust in Allah.. giving yourself to Allah.. surrender to Allah of the results…

… at the same time, you know that the only thing you need to do was put in your best effort….

… if you do that, you will gain all the confidence in the world because you know, Allahu Akbar, Allah is the Best Planner, your life is all in Allah’s Hands…, I said while stroking his hair

… With that, Tariq slowly nodded, trying to soak and process everything that I have said

… Just look at these pictures, Tariq..

…. You were a baby who couldnt even move the hoodie that covered your face.

…. And now you can break planks with your legs while doing a back kick, MashaAllah!

…. Where does thet strength came from? Who allows that growth in you? Who plans for these ‘successes’?

… Allah.. Yes Al Mightly Allah

…. So always remember to submit yourself to Allah totally. Never ever depend on yourself for anything.

… Submit your doaa to Allah.

… Then work hard. And Work smart!

… And trust His Outcome💕

… That is how you will gain all the confidence you need to do anything in your life, InshaAllah

.. Because you know that Allah is always ‘in front’ of you, Allah Who Owns Everything and Everyone is in your team, Allah is guiding you, protecting you and leading your journey to success as per His Perfect Plan.., MashaAllah TabarakAllah! ❤️❤️🤩🥰

Nature Adventure : Inspirational Story as a Parent

1st Weekend of December 2022, Allah rezekikan Tariq and his BFF cum cousin, Nazeer to join this awesome Camp that incorporated STEM in it!🥳🥳

Coming back from Camp, he was so happy sharing his expriences, doing a handful of Science Experiments whilst learning how to survive in the ‘wild’, Alhamdulillah!🤩🤩😍😍

And these two boys enthusiastically shared stories about what they did with their new friends.

…Mama, you know.., Cedric can speak German fluently..! I am so inspired by him..!!, said Tariq 😍

MashaAllah, this is what Mama wants for you to experience during Camps, sayang!😘😘

Making new friends and learning what other children your age do and be inspired by them, InshaAllah!🤩

I guess they really bonded as they actually exchanged numbers, MashaAllah!

And Tariq being the only one without his own hand phone, gave my number! 😂😂

As a gift for themselves, Tariq and Nazeer came back from Camp bringing back 10 grasshoppers!

Once home, they released half into the backyard and kept some in the container

A few days later, all the grasshoppers in the container died!! 😭😭😭

Boys, next camp please ask your teachers how to take care of grasshoppers okay!!

Tariq's TKD Black Belt 1st Dan : Inspirational Story as a Parent

2 days ago, 19/12/22 Monday, Allah rezekikan Tariq to undergo the grading for his TKD Black Belt 1st Dan.

And he passed, Alhamdulillah, with flying colors!!!

After months of training, finally, Tariq is now TKD Black Belt 1st Dan, MashaAllah TabarakAllah!

Tariq’s grading comprised of many components- 3 different patterns, multiple techniques of breaking the planks, multiple kicking techniques, defence techniques, attacking techniques, sparring and even oral test!

SubhanAllah… Mama was so nervous every time Tariq stand in front of the examiner!!

And triple nervous because Tariq is being examined by no other than the awesome Grandmaster Dwen himself!!

Weeks leading to his grading, Tariq asked me…

….. Mama.., will you be angry if Tariq fail the grading..?

I smiled and said.., it depends, sayang…

Hahaha. Can see his peluh sejuk keluar when I said the word ‘it depends..’

Depends on what, Mama…, asked Tariq

… Well.., if you do all your TKD drills daily… practise your patterns daily… do your warm up drills daily… consistently… train well during classes…. focus during training…

….If you do all that and still fail, then of course Mama will accept it as QadrAllah…

…. BUT, if you slack in your training.., don’t do your drills and patterns daily… don’t practise… I will definitely be super upset if you fail… coz your didn’t do your very best preparing yourself for your Black Belt grading.., I answered Tariq

…. But Mama knows.., no matter how super disappointed Mama might be.., you will be more disappointed with yourself than Mama coz you know you should have done better but you didn’t do your best…, betul tak..?, I asked Tariq

… Yes, betul, Mama.., nodded Tariq

So with that in mind, Tariq trained hard weeks after weeks, every single day, MashaAllah TabarakAllah!

So congratulations my love, for your Black Belt 1st Dan!

Mama and Baba are super grateful to Allah, super happy and super proud of you, MashaAllah TabarakAllah!!

And our upmost gratitude to your teachers and Khalifah TKD Academy for training Tariq to achieve this level, Alhamdulillah!

Moments ago, FB shared one of the photos I posted when Tariq was around 2 years old.

It was then I realized that Tariq, my avid reader can and will read anywhere, Alhamdulillah!

He can be sitting in a basket, sitting on the floor, standing on a moving travelator or as normal as sitting on a chair waiting for food…

If he has a book in his hands, he will be all Alright, inshaAllah!!

And that just by reading books can fascinates Tariq and brings him into an imaginary adventure land where only awesome and exciting things exists!

Tariq's Dream Job : Inspirational Story as a Parent

Looks so confident but Mama knows..

Alhamdulillah, a few weeks ago, Allah rezekikan Tariq to again be on stage in a Mall in front of mostly strangers to deliver his public speech entitled ‘My Dream Job’! 🤩

And MashaAllah TabarakAllah, despite the obvious nervousness days leading to the event, and super nervous morning of the event, Tariq did very well, Alhamdulillah!!💕💕

During the first class, when his Teacher asked Tariq of his dream job, without hesitation Tariq answered ‘.. InshaAllah, I want to be a Surgeon, Teacher..!🥰

MashaAllah TabarakAllah!🥰🥰

InshaAllah, whatever that Allah has planned out for you will be the best, sayang..!🥰💕

What I loved most about this particular module was that Tariq had to write his whole speech himself!

Of course guided by his Teacher.

So Tariq had to researched on what a surgeon does, the subjects he needed to take, his study pathway from High School all the way to his Specialization, his dream University, some of the skills he would need acquire as a surgeon, the tools surgeons needed etc etc.

Mama absolutely loved your whole speech sayang!😘😘😘

Especially when you ended your speech with….

‘… I know the journey will be tough, rough and hard.., but I will always remember that a Surgeon needs to have the heart of a lion, the eyes of the eagle and the hands of a lady…’🤩🤩🤩

MashaAllah TabarakAllah, well said, sayang!!

The lion’s heart, the eagle’s eyes and the lady’s hand are always needed in everything that you decide to do!

May Allah guide you in your life decisions, sayang!

And always remember that Allah’s Knowledge is vast and wide… and there is no just one way to help heal and cure a person of their health issues…💕

So, be curious, be fascinated and explore too other kinds of medicinal fields that could help you heal your patients, inshaAllah!🥳

Jungle Survival Skill 101 : Inspirational Story as a Parent

Last Monday, Alhamdulillah was Jungle School Day for Tariq! 🥳🥳🥳

Yes, Jungle School as in learning the 101 on Jungles and basic skills needed to survive in jungles in the Jungle itself! 🌳🌴🌱🎋

For this class, main lesson was on how to start fire!

Very basic but MashaAllah the learning was awesome!

So, Tariq learn how to interpret the ‘noises’ of animals he heard before entering the Jungle,🪲🐜🐞🐸🦉🦗, learn important leaves that can be eaten or even leaves types that can be used as soaps in jungles, benefits of dead vs living tree branches, their different usages, how to process the dead branches, how to identity a good fire spot, how to feather the tree branches, how to make fire without lighter, how to start the fire, how to manage the fire, how to interpret the smoke direction and what it means, how to understand the wind felt in Jungles etc. etc.

It was truly a happy day for Tariq!

To be in nature and exploring Allah’s beautiful and amazing creations, SubhanAllah, was a pretty awesome way to learn!

And a wonderful way to realize that Allah has provided everything for us to live in this world, all in His Creations!

Last Saturday, Tariq competed in his first TKD Championship after more than 3 years.

And Allah has rezekikan Tariq to win 2 Gold Medals for Pattern and Breaking; and 1 Silver for Sparring, MashaAllah TabarakAllah, Alhamdulillah!!🤩🥳🥰🥋🥰

The day went by with lots of episodes and stories for Mama to remember.

There was easy win, walk over win, hard win for you. 🤩

And there was also a panicked moment for Mama when you came to me, with a guilty and weird face, whilst both hands gripping the center of your TKD uniform.🫣

…Mama.., you called me nervously..

Yes, Sayang.., why are you holding your baju like that..?, I asked

… I ripped of my TKD Uniform zipper… I don’t know what happened…

O.M.G!!!!!🫣🫣🫣

Alhamdulillah, Allah ilhamkan Mama to remember that is an alteration shop at the Basement Level of the mall!!

So we rushed there, the Uncle tailor ripped out both zipper and skillfully sew a brand new one.

All less in 5 mins, MashaAllah!’🎯

Tariq, Tariq… Boleh koyak zipper TKD uniform dibuatnya..

Now Mama know that I need to bring a travelling sewing kit for all your events!!

Another memorable moment was went Tariq had to fight a Black Belt for his sparring and that experience was truly awesome for Tariq!🥋🥋🥋😱

And what makes Mama most proud of that your opponent was only able to score 2 points on you! Alhamdulillah!!

Well done, Sayang!!😘😘🤩🤩

You learn that day that no matter happened, even if your opponent scares the hell out of you, you just have to put up a brave front and face him.🫣😱

And that your rent for success, is due every single day of effort that you put in.🥰

Coz, at the end of that day, it is the journey that is important and that counts.

Because for the results,

… The result is always, will always be in Allah’s hands!🥰💕

Tariq's First Traditional Archery Competition : Inspirational Story as a Parent

Early of this month, Allah rezekikan Tariq to enter his first Traditional Archery Competition after more than 3 years!🥰

He just started training Static Archery just a few weeks ago.

All this while, he is training for Horseback Archery, Alhamdulillah!🤩

Both type of archery takes different kind of training.

So when his Baba asked me, Is Tariq ready..?

I giggled and said.., No, not at all! 😄

But we still entered him anyway coz we gotta start somewhere, right?

And MashaAllah TabarakAllah, Tariq ranked 24 from 43 archers, Alhamdulillah!🥳🥳

Not too shabby for a first timer.

And for Tariq, his dream is to become like one of Prophet Muhammad SAW’s sahabat, Saad Ibnu Abi Waqas.💕💕💕

Why?

Coz Saad Ibnu Abi Waqas was an archer who never, as in never ever missed his target, MashaAllah!!🎯🎯🎯

How awesome is that!⭐️⭐️⭐️

I cannot imagine Saad’s focus, calmness, sharp eyes and accuracy of judgement to be able to achieve such skill, SubhanAllah!🔥🔥🔥

Tariq was so happy at the end of the competition as he learnt a lot of new things.

And made many new friends!🥰

Learning About Allah’s Nature By Being In The Nature : Inspirational Story as a Parent

A few days ago, Tariq participated in a Botany : Plant Morphology Field Trip!🥰

It was really an amazing learning experience for Tariq and his homeschooling buddies, Alhamdulillah!🤩

The field trip was taught by husband and wife team of experts - Dr Khadijah and Dr Yahya, MashaAllah! 🥳

Tariq (and Mama) learn so much about plants!

Mainly, Tariq discovered the many plant features and functions thru observation and understanding the many intrinsic characteristics that only experts would know, MashaAllah!🥰

Tariq learn how to distinguishing planted from naturally occurring forest species, the different species regenerate, observe how trees form a canopy, learning what limit the canopy height, understanding the forest floor (fern, seedlings herbaceous plants, dead leaves, animals), understanding how large trees are changing the environment, distinguishing flowering from non-flowering plants, distinguishing leaves from stems, distinguishing and classifying leaf types, observing flower and fruits and learning the role of flowers and fruits.

He even learn about edible leaves, how to identify if we can eat them and actually ate a few himself!😂
