1/144 World Scale One Piece Figures

Shirahoshi has been added to the 1/144 World Scale One Piece figure series, just a few days ago. It is said that she can be obtained at certain online stores such as BigInJapan. She is an addition to the Thriller Park series with Oars, which came out 2-3 months ago, but for 4,400 yen for a decent looking Shirahoshi is not too bad. She is only 120 mm (12 cm) tall, not as detailed as her P.O.P figure but a decent addition to your One Piece collection.

P.O.P NEO-DX Ben Beckman & Shirahoshi

This weeks pre-orders has just released P.O.P (Portrait of Pirates) NEO-DX Ben Beckman and Sailing Again - Shirahoshi!! Sadly I was too late to order Ben Beckman. Even though I don't have Shanks yet, the Red Haired Pirates are my second favorite groups in the One Piece Series. Ben Beckman comes with two types of faces, his "younger" self and his New World look, much like what he looks like now from the anime. His sculpt is just fantastic and he is currently going for 5800-6000 yen; much cheaper than expected. I am hoping that once he is out on the market I would be able to find him and start a Akagami collection.

Next we have P.O.P Sailing Again - Shirahoshi announced for this weeks pre-order as well! She doesn't come with any inter-changeable parts, but she does come with a mini luffy figure. I wish they included a second head with her crying face, which she is pretty much known for. In terms of her size, they scaled her down but she is pretty much the same height as New World Zoro, slightly a little bit shorter from some photo's I have seen posted on forums. The details on her is pretty awesome and coloring is done really well! I do like her character, but not enough for me to buy her to add to my collection. If I am able to find her for a cheaper deal in Japan, I may consider getting myself one if I happen to find one.

Bandai Chozokei Damashii One Piece Series

Bandai just introduced their new Chozokei Damashii One Piece: One Hundred Million Rookies series; Chozokei Damashi series is a branch off of the Figuart ZERO series but sold in sets. This series focuses on the Supernova series, but only for the Rookies with a bounty of 100-million and above. The details on these characters look pretty good, but because I have not seen them in person or from collector photo's I can not judge their true quality. Bandai has been getting better at the quality of their small figures, but I find that these are a hit/miss where you might be lucky to get a good quality figure or you might get ones with smudge marks or paint errors.

Also AmiAmi has also released some of the Figuarts ZERO series Kuma, Smoker, and Tashigi, which I have posted in my previous post. They are currently out of stock, but knowing Bandai they will be making many more. Do not worry if you were not able to order them through pre-orders. I will post up links when they are released out in the market.

Finally I have decided to change the website a bit! I have added a figure column on the side, as well as links to them on Amazon for those that are worried about ordering from AmiAmi or other online figure stores. I have selected only certain figures based on price, demand, as well as new releases. Figuarts ZERO: One Piece

Here are just some updates on some up coming Figuarts ZERO figures coming out as well as some neat Chibi Kyun Kara figures for Ichiban Kuji as well. We are finally seeing Kuma, Smoker, and Tashigi from the Figuarts series. Unfortunately they are not the New World series, but knowing Bandai, they will make a New World version of them very soon depending on their popularity. For Kyun Kara for Ichiban Kuji, we have Akagami Pirates as well as some White Beard Pirate crew members. From what I know White Beard is a A Prize figure while the others are B-E Prize figures.

All these photo's are from Chopper-Mania's Blog so take a look over there! They have some neat things as well but they are in Japanese. If there are specific updates that you would like to read but it's in Japanese, send me a link and I will update the content in english. Enjoy!

Banpresto Grand Line Children & Figuarts ZERO Figures

Here are some up coming pre-orders for both Banpresto and Bandai Figuarts ZERO figures. All of which are pretty awesome and might consider pre-ordering myself. For the Grand Line Children - Lucci and Jabara, I might consider just because I don't have their adult version of these figures but if there was I would. As for Bandai Figuart ZERO - Ryuma figures, I might consider getting this figure since Banpresto hasn't made a lot of the side characters such as Bepo, Sentomaru, Coby, etc. I am hoping that Banpresto would make a Ryuma figure, but I highly doubt they will since he's not a major character and also not in high demand. From the looks of Bandai's prototype he looks pretty awesome here.

P.O.P DX Gecko Moria

P.O.P DX Gecko Moria

It's the time again where the pre-orders for the up coming P.O.P (Portrait of Pirates) DX Gecko Moria came out tonight at 1:00 am Vancouver time, 6:00pm Japan time. I managed to pre-order Moria from AmiAmi, but since I did not order anything from their site lately because of their huge maintenance change, I was a bit worried. None the less I have managed to pre-order Moria from AmiAmi and also a while back I managed to order Doflamingo from Big in Japan. Currently I am 5/7 Shichibukai members being collected and just missing Jinbei and Crocodile. I believe I can find both of them if I went down to Tokyo, but at the moment both of them are pretty hard to find online.

I am a bit disappointed that Moria is pretty expensive, especially only coming with two additional bats and with no extra parts. I am not 100% sure of his actual height, but in relation to the manga he SHOULD be as tall as or maybe taller than Bartholomew Kuma. I hope MegaHouse gets his height accurate, otherwise I would be really disappointed in this figure. I hope those that were able to get their pre-orders, went through well. For those that were unable to pre-order him, try checking out Mandarake or Rakuten as a back up plan!! Enjoy!

Bandai Figuarts ZERO: Sentomaru

As some of you may have saw during the New Years post, I received Sentomaru during the Christmas break. As stated from the previous post, I am very impressed from Bandai's quality going up. Compared to Captain Buggy, Sentomaru does not come with any additional parts or changeable faces, but the scale is pretty accurate when placed with MegaHouse P.O.P Bartholomew Kuma and with Banpresto's Grand Line Men figures as well. It can be a nice addition, especially if Banpresto has not shown any concept or demos for any side characters such as Sentomaru. Here is a small gallery of Sentomaru. Enjoy the New Years!

Bandai Figuarts ZERO: Captain Buggy

I know I told myself that I would think twice when it comes to Bandai figures because of the quality I have been seeing online. but I got a few unexpected Christmas gifts that I thought I would share from my perspective. First off, I was very surprised at the quality that some of these Bandai Figuarts figures came out to be. I know that some people that collect these figures were not pleased with the quality of the paint or some of the sculpt quality was poorly made. I do believe they are inconsistent, but I was lucky enough to get two figures that were pretty well made.

Here's a short review of Bandai's Figuarts Zero: Captain Buggy figure. He comes with two forms (1) his normal form with his knives and (2) his miniature form when his other parts of the body was tied down. The heads are inter-changeable and he comes with a base plate. However, he is pretty well balanced that he can actually stand without the base.

The color and details done on the figure is well made. There are some imperfection on his hand holding the knives, which is lacking compared to the Banpresto or MegaHouse figures. I am treating this figure as equal to the other companies to bare with me here. The details done on his pants and clothes are pretty impressive and I love the fact that you can have inter-changeable faces, which is something Banpresto is missing. Unless you decide to go for the expensive MegaHouse figures, but for it's price and customization, Bandai Figuarts would be an alternative. Enough with the long read, check out some of these photos. Ichiban Kuji vs. Grand Line Men Roger Comparison

Here is just a small comparison of the two Gol D. Roger figures that are coming out very shortly. First we have Ichiban Kuji's version of Gol D. Roger that was being shown at the JUMP Festival. This version of Roger has a vibrant color finish to him compared to the Grand Line Men version. The sculpt pose is similar to the Grand Line Men version, but with some differences in some parts. He is a lot more muscular in the Ichiban Kuji version, especially his upper body, which is what I would picture the King of Pirates would look like.

Compared to the Grand Line Men version of Roger, the colors are a lot darker. This is to keep its consistency with the other Grand Line Men figures of this line. His body sculpt is less bulky compared to the Ichiban Kuji series, but it does make him look a little "scrawny" compared to the other. His facial express is different as well in terms of their smile and their eyes.

Personally, I am leaning towards the Ichiban Kuji version of Gol D. Roger, but I would also want to have the consistency of the Grand Line Men series just because I have a bunch of them already. However, I am not 100% sure of the height difference of the Ichiban Kuji version of Roger. I am hoping that he will be as tall as a MSP (Master Star Piece) so that I can put him beside Ace. I wll update you guys on that once I find out more information on him. This is what I have for now, come back again and see if there are any updates regarding these figures.

Also if you want me to go through some reviews or make some comparisons of certain figures, I will gladly make a post on that topic. Just leave me a comment on that and I will get back to you guys on it. Enjoy.

Jump Festival 2012 Ichiban Kuji Update

Here are some more Ichiban Kuji updates I found on some blogs and forums you guys might be interested in. First we have two, A Prize ichiban kuji's of Gol D. Roger and White Beard (Roger's Era edition), both of which they look pretty awesome. For those that are wanting to get Banpresto's Grand Line Men version of Roger, I would think again before buying that. The Ichiban Kuji version basically have the same pose, the only difference is the details, the height of the figures and vibrant colors on the two. If you're looking for more of a lighter vibrant color of Roger and perhaps a little taller then the Grand Line Men series, I would choose the ichiban kuji version. However, if you prefer to get a darker colored version of him and would like to keep the consistency of your other Grand Line Men figures, then I would choose the Grand Line Men version. I am torn between the two right now, but depending on the price, I might be going for Grand Line Men series, but if the prices are not too different and the height is similar to a MSP figure then I might go for the Ichiban Kuji. Wanting to let Roger stand beside my MSP Ace if the height of the figure are very similar. Here are some photo's of the other figures from the festival. Enjoy.

Jump Fest. Limited Edition Luffy

Here are some photo's of the Jump Fest. Limited Edition Luffy. It's basically his recent post 2Y post, but with his regular color outfit. I was hoping they would bring out something more than just a repaint, but knowing MegaHouse, this is what they came out with. If you don't have this particular Luffy and is attending the Jump Fest. convention, I would suggest grabbing this version. Out of all the Luffy's out right now, the recent (minus the New World/Sailing Again version) sculpt is the best so far. Just in my opinion, when compared to Neo or Strong World. Enjoy.

Banpresto One Piece Colosseum Winners

The results are in and Banpresto's One Piece Colosseum winner goes to Wiper by Saito. The winner of this tournament gets his figure made into a MSP (Master Star Piece) figure, just like they did with Ace and Luffy. I will assume that the starting prices for Wiper will be around 4000-5000 yen but after a month or so he might drop to around 2000 yen since that happened to MSP Luffy and all the other MSP characters. MSP Luffy started from 5000 yen and he dropped down to 1500 yen after two months. For those that are planning on getting MSP Wiper, I would hold on for a bit then order him on Mandarake or Otacute.

2012 JUMP Festival: Ichiban Kuji and Figuarts

Here are just a few interesting figures that I saw and also two new Figuarts ZERO One Piece figures they added to their collection as well. The other two are labelled as Ichiban Kuji figures. There seems to be several Ichiban Kuji figures popping up at this festival, I am hoping they don't release them all at once. I would like to have some breathing time for my wallet. Just saying. 2012 JUMP Festival: P.O.P MegaHouse

Here is the updates on the new P.O.P (Portrait of Pirates) Sailing Again and DX series. We have an update from the DX series of Ben Beckman and Moria. It is said that they confirmed that Moria's arms are not changeable, but might be considered just a static pose but with different items that comes with him. I assume it would be something similar to Akainu with different bat elements or action items. For the Sailing Again series, we have an update on Brook, Usopp, Robin, and Franky sculpt confirmed. I love Brook's pose and sculpt; I wish I was collecting the Sailing Again series, but it wasn't enough for me to collect the whole group. For me personally I wouldn't just get one of them and not consider getting the others, even though Zoro, Brook, and Usopp all look fantastic. 2012 JUMP Festival Tokyo:

Here are a few updates from the 2012 JUMP Festival held in Tokyo. The photo's are from some of the blogs I am following, so do take a look at their blogs as well, even though it is in Japanese. I can feel the pain that my wallet is going to go through in the up coming months. Here are a few posts is several different new series that are coming out. Here is a new series by Figuarts ZERO: Twist Special with Mugiwara crew in their "animal representative forms". I personally love these ones because it's an interesting idea and the figures itself is pretty detailed. But seeing that it's by Figuarts, I don't have any high exceptions from them for the final result.

NDS: One Piece Gigant Battle 2 New World!! + MSP Luffy Limited Edition

Here is a update on the NDS: One Piece Gigant Battle 2 New World + MSP (Master Star Piece) Luffy Limited Edition. Have been playing the NDS game itself for a good week and just finished playing and I must say, being able to use all my favorite One Piece characters is pretty awesome. Compared to the first one, you can now use the entire Mugiwara crew plus a lot of extra characters. There are around 40 playable characters and at least a good 100 support characters in the game.

The package I got was the MSP Luffy Limited Game edition bundle, which included a limited color alter of the MSP Luffy figure. The difference is the vibrant colors as I wrote before in previous posts. The figure pose s basically the same, except for the coloring done on him. Personally I love the vibrant color version of this luffy, but I do like the regular MSP skin tone color done on him more that the Limited Edition. The packaging done on this box set is well put together and the overall game and the figure is fantastic.

One Piece fans, if you can get your hands on the Gigant Battle 2 game, I would highly recommend it. You don't need to play the first one to know what happens in the second one, since the story is completely different. However, the game is only in Japanese but it's not that difficult to play through the game. It is mostly about destroying your opponent and kicking ass. Enjoy!

D.P.C.F One Piece Vivi Alabasta

D.P.C.F (Door Painting Collection Figure) by Plex is releasing a new figure, this time they decided on making Vivi from the Alabasta series. She comes with 2 prop items: sword and wine glass, along with 2 changeable faces. She's a pretty awesome figure, well detailed and very different from all the other Vivi's that has been out on the market. The only down side of this is that she would probably be pretty expensive seeing that it is made by Plex.

For those that would want to get this, but is willing to wait, I would suggest waiting for a while until the price has gone down. The previous D.P.C.F prices have dropped a lot from 6800 yen down to 4000 yen after a couple of months from AmiAmi Online or Hobby Link Japan. Consider that when deciding if you would want to pre-order her. Enjoy.

P.O.P DX Don Flamingo & Jewelry Bonney

Here are the promo photo's of the up coming P.O.P (Portrait of Pirate) DX Don Flamingo and Jewelry Bonny. Both look amazing but I think this time I will be only getting Don Flamingo so that I can finish my Shichibukai series. I'm happy that he comes with three other faces, though I wish he came with another pose but the one with his tongue sticking out won me over. Can't wait to get Moria as well and I still need to get Jinbei as well as Crocodile. I have been debating if I should get Crocodile because of his base plate. The others are all labeled as World Government, but he more involved with the Baroque Works organization. I shall consider this really soon, because I do love his P.O.P sculpture.

Banpresto Grand Line Children Vol.2

Just a short post of Banpresto's Grand Line Children Vol.2 with Ace and Boa Hancock, being released very soon. I am probably getting Ace since I have the three trio of Luffy and Sabo already. Not too much of a fan of chibi Boa Hancock so I might pass on her. For those looking for the figures, Mandarke seems to be the site to turn to for these Banpresto figures. Enjoy!

MegaHobby 2011 Autum Convention

Huge update for what I am about to post here. I was going through some of the releases being held at the MegaHobby 2011 Autum Convention in Tokyo and Mega House just totally blew my mind away. All the figures I wanted to be out for P.O.P (Portrait of Pirates) are now being released. Here is the next P.O.P line up for the coming months: Gecko Moria, Donquixote Doflamingo, Bonny, Ben Beckman, and Shiraishi. At last I can finally finish off my Shichibukai P.O.P series and the based on the prototypes they released they are ridiculous! Why did Mega House all of a sudden saved these till now? I don't know why they didn't release them earlier, but I am glad they released them and hopefully coming in soon. Here are some photo's of the convention I saw online. Enjoy!

Banpresto Grand Line Men Vol.10 - Monkey D. Luffy

Banpresto Grand Line Men Vol.10 - Monkey D. Luffy

At last Banpresto's Grand Line Men: Monkey D. Luffy is here and I am very pleased with the figure. The only sad part with mine was that a small bit of black paint drop was on his eye. I removed it using photoshop, but regardless it's still there on the figure itself. Banpresto really knows how to capture the figures really well in my opinion compared to the other One Piece figures out there. Especially when comparing them to MegaHouse's portrait of Pirates or Bandai's Figuarts series. The detail on Luffy's clothes is done well, especially with the fold done on the back. Although I think the folds on his pants from the back are a little bit emphasized, but regardless it's a nice finish. Here's a small gallery of the figure. Enjoy!

Banpresto Grand Line Men Vol.10 - Usopp

Finally my Banpresto Grand Line Men Usopp came in just a few days ago. Just as expected the coloring and the sculpt details are fantastic. One thing to note is that for their packaging, the set comes in two parts: the base and the figure itself. Before it use to come in three parts: base, upper, and lower body. I believe this saves the packaging cost for them but it might change. Back to the figure itself the details on his clothes and accessories are very detailed. The buttons on his belt is well made compared to Bandai's Figuarts series. His boot sculpt is made well with the gap between his feet and the upper part of his boots.
