My husband and I had started doing foster care while working on opening our adoption file. At the time, it was just the three of us—my husband, our daughter (who was in junior high), and me. My husband worked out of town during the week for the state, and I worked at the hospital.

One night, my daughter and I received a phone call from the state. They were desperate to find a home for three young brothers. We had initially planned to take in only one foster child, but this was the last option before the boys would be split into separate homes. My heart couldn’t bear to see that happen. After a quick call to my husband, he agreed, and I told the state we would take the boys for the week and see how things went.

I will never forget the night they arrived. Three little boys, all under the age of five, climbed out of a car. Each had only a small toy car—nothing else. They were dirty from head to toe. The oldest had severe bruises on his face from being beaten with a gaming cord, an injury inflicted simply because he had stood in front of the television. The sight of him broke my heart. I had to step into my room to cry and pray, overwhelmed by the enormity of what lay ahead. How could anyone do such a thing to a child?

The next day, all three boys went to the doctor. The youngest, small for his age, was sick and needed breathing treatments. That first night, I expected tears and cries for their mother, but there were none. They seemed emotionless. At dinner, the middle child—just three years old—talked about killing and chopping off heads. They didn’t know how to use utensils. One ate directly from his plate like a dog. We bathed them and got them to bed, but I slept on the couch with one eye open.

The next morning, we dressed and headed back to the doctor, who prescribed antibiotics for all three. Over the following weeks, appointments with mental health professionals, family doctors, and social workers filled our days. As their tragic history unfolded, we learned they had suffered every form of abuse imaginable—sexual, physical, and emotional. They had lived in tents when the weather was good and in a van when it wasn’t. They never had a stable home. Their lives were filled with people who brought more harm than good.

The state’s plan was reunification with their mother. They worked on getting her a stable home and improving her parenting skills, but it became clear this wasn’t working. The boys returned from visits with bruises and stories of seeing the very person they were supposed to be protected from. I repeatedly voiced my concerns to the caseworkers, but it felt like they were just doing the bare minimum. One caseworker ignored reports about the boys staying in a home with no running water, bugs on the table, and exposure to their abuser.

After more than a year of caring for these boys, I knew I had to do something. I gathered my notes, letters, and communication records with their mother and caseworker and sent them to the judge and the state supervisor. I also worked with the boys' therapist to document the ongoing issues.

One week before the boys were supposed to go back to their mother, she called and asked to meet us at the caseworker’s office. I’ll never forget her words. She asked if my husband and I would adopt her sons. She tearfully admitted that she couldn’t provide for them, that she loved them too much to keep them from the life they deserved. My heart raced. Our adoption file had just opened days earlier.

I asked if she was certain. She assured me she had thought it through and wanted her boys to stay together. With tears in my eyes, I promised we would love them as our own and keep her in their lives, as long as boundaries were respected. It takes incredible strength for a mother to make such a selfless decision, and I admired her courage.

---

This journey tested our hearts, patience, and faith, but it also brought immeasurable love into our home. These boys became a part of our family, and they forever changed our lives.

The Battle Within Myself.

Just one battle that has damage to my body, that I had no control over and nothing will ever fix. I am sure some of you feel I complain a lot lately . I am in a battle of hell, of darkness, a place I have never met before. Having a hard time accepting many things and not looking forward to what comes ahead . I have IIH some say its a fat issue maybe so maybe not I know many from a wonderful support group that are bean poles that battle this . I am unlucky or maybe I am special. I am not for sure yet, but this has caused damage to my eyesight ,it has flatten my pituitary gland that produces hormones its the central station it in your head it controls everything. When weather changes or i am sick or under stress or just because the pressure builds up imagen your brain in a vise grip. This acts like a brain tumor with all symptoms . There are two meds out to treat the fluid build up I have tried both its as bad as ,meth, the best solution is getting lumbar punctures and getting drained unfortunately i have to travel to have these done. and the risks are high now that I have a blood disease that affects my body mainly my spine neck its not so much a great option for myself. We have talked about shunting but with my conditions I am battling my neurosurgeon agreed we don't need to complicate things more, as shunting there are always problems and many surgeries. I will only shunt if my eyesight gets worse it all depends on the pressure but I know the signs now. I am learning to balance things out. I encourage young girls to educate themselves on forms birth control as so many cases have linked back to certain ones . this is not the case for me. I truly believe mine happen during childbirth found by accident by an episode i had while i was getting blood work done history of spells but this one day a new dr was working and would not leave me leave until things were further checked as I had always blamed these spells due to blood sugar or heart rate issue. CT was done and was found it is a very rare disease. Its very painful at times and makes you feel like you have lost your self and gone crazy. I am blessed to have had many medical professionals and personal support on this long journey . This is was just the start of things for myself. after many years pieces are coming together , confirmation that the fibro is real as i had always question it , arthritis taking over parts of my body the wear and tear. if this was only things in my life. it would be so much more simple. This last year I had been dx with Spondyloarthritis (AS) all these years of chronic inflammation and pain i have a name. i would not wish this on anyone I have the genetic gene its a blood disease in the HLA family with this piece now maybe we know the reason for the funky heart conduct issues other issues that come with this. as a kid I was sick all the time I don't know why I was not checked back then with all the bleeding ulcers and the polyps i have had cut out just as a kid still doing the same things to this day. Staying as active as I can is the key and it has been a challenge with our in pain and some nights not able to walk to the bathroom you think I am going to go spend thirty minutes at the end of my day to walk 45 minutes hell no. but i know its a must biking is my things is not as hard to do but its hard to get off that bike after the miles are put on. when one things flares it effects everythings. becomes a storm and does not calm down for a very long time. my meds i am trying have weaken my immune system so anything kids get i get ,takes me three times longer to fight it. i am constantly fighting I am getting tired I had said a while back there not much more I could take well careful what you say. I have thyroid issues been doing well with meds . I went in with a lump to have checked out did a scan was going to do a biopsy well not just yet. and the biopsy not even for the lump like what the hell. Its for the other side and some other things going on. I am now off meds for a month so i can do a nuc scan which i guess takes two days . before this last bump in the road I was already battling keeping my mind healthy I am not going to lie it went downhill fast you just get tired of being tired and fighting sucks when your body does not want to get ahead and everytime your sick uti, resporrity infection, something. I have gotten to a point of saying screw it. I am not ok. I am so lost not even sure what direction to go . never have i have been to this place. It would be much easier to just have one thing and know have answers and know what meds will work and not worry what meds will interfere with others that causes other issues. Its all about balancing. I recently seen my neurosurgeon praying that he would be able to help with my spine and pain. maybe a miracle he had the same talk with me as many others. I am pretty stubborn and when i don't want to believe or her i keep seeking for answers. I am accepting this i am owning I will never be pain free I am aware that things in this journey of mine will progress as it has. I understand that what works now may not later. I know if I just quit and give up i will be in that wheelchair sooner. somethings that hit home thats clicked to just accept things is when the dr said surgery will not fix it alll losing weight won't fix it. It's in your blood and we can not change that. At that point in time tears and emotions flooded i don't normally show my weakness but that was a kick in the gut. I am 40 years old i guess i will be 41 in a few months i have four children at home that see me at my worst they hold me up when needed i know this is not easy on any of my family, I am trying but there are times I question why who wants your babies to see you and to have to have them help do things to help with daily things that should be simple some are personal. They all have big hearts and never complain even when I am angry or when i have fallen. I know they are my reason in life . The next weeks to come will be a test for my emotionally state my pain level i am already struggling. Taking my support away pill wise i am already feeling it. I stopped the rummy meds until i know if this is cancer or what we are dealing with. the meds i take side effect is cancer makes no sense to me they give cancer pts same meds different doses to cure and kill but they give autoimmune ppl same meds with the a pretty good risk of cancer . but it's a risk you take to live it's not about quantity or how long i am going to be here it's about quality and making the best of the moments in life it's not even about days to me as life changes minute to minute. whatever comes of this its just another dx on the list . I hit rock bottom very recently the lowest of lows I have recently had a awakening i have always had god by my side and a true believer. during this darkness i was challenge i kept crying why do you not hear me. Why are you punishing me i have asked forgiveness for those things i have done in my life that was wrong i am a sinner every day . you have given me everything I had ever asked for . why leave me why am i so far from you. He finally spoke or maybe I finally was open to hear him it was awaking that i have never felt or had in my life I am not ready to share but will in time. I am going to be ok. even when i am not ok. and i am learning things about myself that i never knew I am going to pull through this battle and no matter what is to come it's ok because he took my hand and said do not fear . I need an army on my side for myself and family love positive energy I know I have this I have angels around me with my spiritual guide working over time I feel them i hear them I am blessed even on those days I am unable to see.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kimmieks.blogspot.com/2018/09/the-battle-within-myself.html' title='The Battle Within Myself.

From the Office of Senator Ralph Ostmeyer
January 25, 2016
Information to Note:

CARR BROTHERS DEATH SENTENCES UPHELD
The Supreme Court of the United States ruled 8-1 that the Kansas Supreme Court Justices unjustly overturned the death sentences of the nefarious Carr brothers.
Reginald and Johnathan Carr committed atrocious crimes of rape, robbery, kidnaping, and murder in Wichita, in the winter of 2000. In 2002, the two were tried jointly and both were sentenced to death. However, in 2014 the Kansas Supreme Court ruled that the cases should have been separated, therefore the verdicts were deemed invalid. Additionally the lower court ruled that the jury was uninformed of the mitigating factors, which included the details of the abusive and traumatic childhood that the brothers experienced. Nonetheless, the United States Supreme Court struck down the 2014 decision to overturn their sentences. The ruling also upheld the death sentence of Sidney Gleason, who committed a double murder in Great Bend in 2004. Congressman Mike Pompeo responded to the decision by stating “I continue to be dismayed at how the Kansas Supreme Court places its political agenda above the rule of law.”

MARCH FOR LIFE AT KANSAS STATEHOUSE
This morning on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Kansas Court of Appeals ruled 7 to 7 that the Kansas Constitution protects abortion rights. With the decision, the legislature’s ban on particular abortion procedures, which was signed into law in 2015, is to be halted.
The Court will rule on the constitutionality of the protections granted under the law, and if the law undermines personal liberties of Kansans. Other pro-life legislation approved in years past could potentially be subject to the Judicial Branch’s rulings as well.

OIL & GAS INDUSTRY UPDATE
Ed Cross of the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association provided the Senate Utilities Committee with an update on the Oil and Gas Industry in Kansas. He spoke specifically about the effect of lower oil prices and stressed that the strength of the United States Dollar
was partially to blame and that cheaper oil is does not augment the national or state economies. While prices are cheaper on the average taxpayer, it does not compensate for the layoffs made by companies and the declining production of oil. In 2015, barrels produced fell 5.5% and Cross expects this to linger. He asserted that OPEC and the Saudis are pushing a political agenda at the expense of the American consumer. It is anticipated that oil prices will stay low for a long period of time and most companies do not expect drilling to be profitable until 2017.
Oil prices are expected to be lower for longer due to an imbalance in global supply and demand for oil.

OSOWATOMIE STATE HOSPITAL
The Osawatomie State Hospital was the subject of yesterday’s joint committee meeting. Interim Secretary of the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), Tim Keck, highlighted the staffing issue at the hospital and acknowledged the problem. Numerous legislators articulated their concern about the 6-8 week hiring process of new staff members, while the current staff is working beyond overtime. The interim secretary stated that he hopes to see the issue resolved and become “streamlined”. Commissioner Rein, legal counsel to the department, told the joint committee that the biggest problem at our state hospital isn’t money, but positions and people. Keck unveiled the plan of working with a consultant who will propose solutions to the issues Osawatomie has been facing, with the contract being finalized in February. He is hopeful, but stated that the improvement will not happen immediately. Also, it is the department’s plan to continue to work with the 146 patients they have now, use the sixty beds available and to utilize the CMS certified component of the hospital in the near future. The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services also announced on Thursday that it will seek Medicare recertification for the Osawatomie State Hospital following a decision by CMS to halt payment to the hospital.

KDOT AGENCY OVERVIEW
Secretary King provided the Senate Transportation Committee with an overview and update on the Kansas Department of Transportation. He explained that the T-WORKS program is multimodal and utilizes a comprehensive approach when addressing transportation issues. Sec. King spoke about the wide array of transportation and spoke about recent accomplishments:
 AVIATION – In the last 4 years, Kansas has made improvements to 92 airports
 FREIGHT – Over the past 5 years, Kansas has invested or loaned $26 million to make key improvements to short-line rail
 AMTRAK – Amtrak’s Southwest Chief had a record year in 2015 with 367,000 passengers
 HIGHWAYS – Construction Lettings in 2015 were $669 million and $644 million for 2016.
Secretary King stated that T-WORKS has completed 2,230 projects, 9,645 miles and repaired 633 bridges. The Secretary also addressed the bonding issue and said that when T-WORKS began, it was projected that it would take $1.7 billion in bonding to complete T-WORKS.
KDOT issued $325 million of bonds in 2010, $200 million in 2012, $250 million in 2014 and most recently $400 million, which is $1.175 billion in bonds or about $600 million less than originally projected. Sec. King indicated they did have to exceed the 18% bonding cap, which was why the legislature suspended the cap last session. He noted that KDOT will be around 15% bonding by FY 2018.

Regarding the Kansas Turnpike Authority, King mentioned the agency is exploring the option of removing gates in order for traffic to flow more freely through toll booths.
CORRECTIONS:
Omnibus Marijuana bill (HB 2049) - The Senate Corrections Committee devoted two meeting days to HB 2049, which proposes the following:
 Lessening the penalty for first and second marijuana possession convictions
 Authorizing the use of hemp oils to treat seizures (less than 3% THC, the intoxicating chemical in cannabis)

 Create a research program to investigate industrial hemp

Several parents testified on behalf of their children who suffer from constant seizures, in an effort to provide them with alternative treatments. Some of the children have been diagnosed with very severe forms of epilepsy that can cause hundreds of seizures daily. Ed Klumpp of the Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police noted there has not been a proven reduction of seizures for individuals using hemp oils, the American Epilepsy Society has claimed that 13% of patients actually got worse, and there is simply a lack of research on hemp and its effects. Other opponents echoed Klumpp’s points while some stated that the bill was not “good enough” and ought to allow legalization of other substances.
The current penalties for the possession of marijuana are simple: first offense is a class A misdemeanor, and the second is a level 5 felony. The bill lessens the first offense to a class B misdemeanor, the second to a class A misdemeanor, and the third to a level 5 felony. The executive director of the Kansas Sentencing Commission stated that the change of penalty would ultimately save prison beds, and estimates savings would add up to $763,000 annually. He also stressed that felons are unable to vote, unable to possess firearms, and have difficulty finding employment. Most opponents to the bill, including a representative from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, argued that such a change would create a new definition of cannabis and “creates a concern for the law enforcement community”.

This bill is scheduled for Final Action in the Corrections and Juvenile Justice Committee on Tuesday, January 26th.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me

I have been struggling some with many things happening in my life, certain aspects of my life, it can be very over whelming but its part of my life right now. A cry to him asking what can I do to improve my physically, emotionally and spiritually well being ? I have spent this last week feeling challenged with the daily events in my life. I ask what change can I make to heighten my life for the better, this quality of life I am living is not the path I want to stay on. My compass is broken and I need to be healed. Down on my hands and knees I plea with my God what is it that you want me to do to better this life I am living, my walls are coming down around me and I have no control over the quake I am going through. I don't understand. My physical health does not seem to be improving my episodes are increasing, I feel this beautiful life you have given me is out of control, emotionally and spiritually I am worn. I need the breath of life back into my soul.

Being still, I felt him, he heard my plea , an overwhelming flood of emotions flowed through my body, warm tears ran down my cheeks in this moment I was told its going to be ok and he has my hand. I was reminded that he is always there and that in the mix of the devils play I tend be to absorbed in the busy world to stop and listen and feel. Its so easy to get wrapped up in whats wrong and not see whats right with life with all of this craziness on the devils playground. What ever turbulence I have in my life its not going to be easy but taking the time to feel him I will be ok. He says I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me. He's right and I am so glad that I was able to feel and hear his presence to remind me .

I am going to live life like there is no tomorrow I will take more time to listen to the sounds from heaven , I will love with more of my heart and soul. I'll take the negative out of my life the best I can and find the best in the worst and will remind myself with his help nothing is too much and remember all those wonderful blessing I have had the chance to have in my life. I am rich with more then I can ever image. I know its life is not an easy journey but who really ever said that it was. I will be courageous !
that everything will come to full circle. You know all those things we never
want to deal with in life that we shove as far away as possible out of sight
out of mind. When all we are doing is letting it collect debris, dust and it keeps
getting further and further buried. We keep blaming everything that goes
wrong in our life on something because we have never been able to deal with the
matter at hand and running from life in general we because we don't know how to
cope. It’s a lot easier to keep running. During our journey of running away we
keep hurting those that are the closest to us. We say things that we don't

Its my first book by Nicholas Sparks and it won't be my last book either. I give it a 7 out of 10 . Its about a young marine from Colorado that had been deployed over to the Iraq War. He gives details about the battles and losses he encounters there . He finds a picture of a girl and believes that picture brings him good-luck and is the reason he is still alive . Once he is discharge from the corps he ventures out to find out who this mystery woman is in the picture he had found . Very good read. I am hoping to be able to watch the movie and compare the two with each other. I was able to check it out for the kindle on overdrive with the Coffey County library. You can also purchase through Barnes and Noble or Amazon .

sidenote: watched the movie tonight and well it wasn't as good as the book. But we all know that's how it normally goes right!? Leave me a comment on your view of the book or movie.
<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kimmieks.blogspot.com/2013/01/book-review-lucky-one.html' title='Book Review. Amen! I know what I am getting for Christmas and my birthday. If you have not had a chance to have a great night sleep you must go and try one of these babies outs! All Comfort Suite's have these luxury mattress in their rooms. The con of the mattress is that you can not find these in your mattress stores. They are made for hotels. The good news is that you can call the company and have them make one for you, and for about $1500 for one. The other good news is that if you are a Sam's Club member that's even better! They offer a set of two ( a set includes mattress and box springs in each set) for around 1200 dollars shipping already included in that price. They do not carry in there stores.,it may only be purchased online. The con to this is if you don't need two mattress sets. Regardless it is the better buy and well worth the money!
I have read the reviews and talked with others about what they think and the only negative I have heard is the fire proof spray they put on them is strong. when you remove them from the packaging ,it may takes a few days for the smell to go away. Most mattress do not have the fire proofing done. . In my book the extra safety measure is well worth it. Well that is my two cents.I am sooo excited and wishing it was Christmas already!

Reveiws and information on the Presidential suite pillowtop.

The Hotel Presidential Suite Pillowtop is designed expressly for the hotel/motel industry and meets all required standards. Fabulous,Date:04/18/2011By:WorkingGirl , St Louis, MORead All My Reviews
My husband and I slept on this mattress last year in a hotel in Chicago and both loved the mattress. Since it was a hotel line I had a hard time finding it but was completely worth the trouble. We have had it for a week now and it's great. Firm yet soft and no back pain. Nice too because the pillowtop is on both sides so it's flippable which is impossible to find anymore on the retail side. Only drawback was I had to buy 2 but a friend needed one too so we just split it and both got a great mattress for a low cost!
Finally! A great mattress!!!,Date:03/14/2011By:MommaMia23 , NebraskaRead All My Reviews
For a couple of years my husband and I have known that we badly need a new mattress. We've had back aches and pains from sleeping on a 10 year old mattress. Every time we would stay in a motel and think the mattress was comfy we would take note but could never figure out where to buy one just like it until I stumbled across a website that mentioned Sams sells this. We have also tried out different mattresses at furniture stores and nothing ever seemed to feel right.
When I read that this mattress was the same one that we had been getting good night sleep in various hotels we decided to throw caution to the wind after reading all of the raving reviews and without testing it out and order it online.
Tonight will be my third night sleeping on this cloud of comfort. It is so absolutely wonderfully comfortable - firm yet cushy- I can't wait to go to bed tonight.
The only thing I would caution is that these mattresses are high - I'm 5'7 and I almost have to take a running leap to get on the bed....ok, it's not quite that bad but when I stand next to the bed the top of the mattress is almost to my waist. We can lower our frame and we plan to do that soon.
I have never written a review for anything but I feel so happy with our mattresses (yes, they come in a pack of two which makes the price very reasonable) that I just had to write. The only one slight thing I noticed was that the stitching on a part of the mattress was loose but I think that is extremely minor. I almost forgot to add - our backs feel GREAT!
Make a note. . . .,Date:03/08/2011By:violetcrown Read All My Reviews
I slept on this mattress in a hotel in California and I've been dreaming of owning it ever since. Well, it finally arrived and I am a little irked over something I should have noticed before buying a hotel mattress. The fireproofing chemicals produce a climate of unbreatheability in the pillowtop surface. I was so hot all night long, constantly shifting my position to find a cool spot. This will not work for me and I am returning it ASAP!
But it really made me think about the words and what this song really meant to me. I listen to the song a few times on how my life could relate to this, wanting to leave my mark on this earth before my time is up. Then I got excited thinking about it, because I have already started leaving my mark on this earth I do this every single day of my life, by helping others. Such a great feeling when someone comes and tell you how blessed they are for you helping them in a time of need, whether it was making an extra income, or helping them by turning their homes in to safe and healthier ones, or just holding there hand.

Not only that I have been blessed to adopt, and to be able to give unconditional love and make a difference in their life. To be able to raise all five of my children and know that each one of them had a rough start in life and how I have helped them become who they are today. To be able to wipe away the tears when they come flowing down and be able to tell them its going to be OK, to know that each one of my children have faith in our god, and believe that Jesus died for our sins, letting them know its OK to make mistakes we all make them and that's how we learn . To have showed them that there are less fortunate people then us and we are here to help others.

I think we have all lost our way some time or another, I know I have more then once, thankful for my faith helping me find my way of life. If this was my last day I can honestly say my life is complete, and knowing that I left my foot print and made a difference in others lives beside my own.
Songwriters: Burr, Gary S; Scott, Hillary Dawn; Shaw, Victoria; You will notice me
I'll be leaving my mark like initials carved
In an old oak tree, you wait and see

Maybe I'll write like Twain wrote
Maybe I'll paint like Van Gogh
Cure the common cold, I don't know
But I'm ready
start 'cause I know in my heart

I wanna do something that matters, say something different
Something that sets the whole world on its ear
I wanna do something better with the time I've been given
I wanna try to touch a few hearts in this life
Leave nothing less than something that says ?I was here?

I will prove you wrong
If you think I'm all talk, you're in for a shock
'Cause this dream's too strong and before too long

Maybe I'll compose symphonies
Maybe I'll fight for world peace
'Cause I know it's my destiny
To leave more than a trace of myself in this place!
I wanna do something better with the time I've been given
I wanna try to touch a few hearts in this life
And leave nothing less than something that says ?I was here?

And I know that I, I will do more than just pass through this life
I'll leave nothing less than something that says ?I was here?
7 Steps To Creating Lasting Business Relationships

By Edie Pereira Hulbert

A wonderful business relationship will take you through the thick and thin times of your business and will provide you the support you will need at all times. Here are some tips on how you can create a business relationship that will last.

Prepare!!!

Research and gather all the information you might need for this relationship. In this case, overpreparation is not a bad idea.

Be Motivated. Enthusiasm and excitement about the prospect can create great inroads for you.

Get their attention. Determine ahead of time why they want to do business with you.

Find the similarities...create communication. We like those who are like us. Therefore, discover the commonalities and open up that line of communication.

Cultivate their interest. Do some thinking about how they can benefit from your product or service.

Solve Their issue. Being a problem-solver will be one of the great careers of the 21st century. How will your service enhance their business?

Cultivate a true desire for a win-win outcome. Determine the value that you are providing and ensure that both parties come out ahead.

BONUS TIPS

Say "we" five times for each time you say "I." Remember, there is power in numbers.

Provide positive feedback as much as possible. Write those thank-you notes, give out appreciation certificates, or whatever other ideas you might have to convey your positive feelings.

Create a future. Many businesses operate on referral business alone. Develop a referral team with the business.

I started with this team two and half years. I am a mother of five children four years ago my husband and I decided to adopt a sibling group, during that time I became pregnant with triplets, at that point in time my life changed in the matter of a few months. To make a long story short, I end up having my triplets at 28 weeks, four months later my babies were able to come home with me. At this point in time I knew we had to make changes to our home, and plan how we were going to pay for all the things we needed for our children. We had gone from a family of three to a family of seven in a short amount of time. Not only that, my triplets had medical needs to be met. I had been working in the healthcare field for most of my life, and since my babies needed constant care and supervision, we were reluctantly reduced to one income.I knew I had to do something to help provide to our house hold income, This is when I had found Work At Home United. I was skeptical at first, I had four months to take it for a test drive to get my investment back, I told my husband I will give it the four months and see where I am at then. I am so glad that I took the plunge, here I am almost three years later and have been able to provide an acceptable residual income. I was excited to work from home around the important things in my life and by teaming up and helping others I have been able to stay at home. You have to find a need and fill it … people buy solutions to their problems...You have to be unique…you have to be someone or have something that separates you from the competition…And…I believe that this is the most important of all… You have to have a certain kind of mental toughness because the difference between winning and losing in business is so small that most people don't get it and they lose JUST short of winning…You can be doing 99% of everything right in business…But if you miss that 1%…that winning edge…that mental toughness…it is IMPOSSIBLE for you to win. There are no tests designed to measure what's in the heart of a man or a woman. The key to winning BIG is inside of the individual person. It is their integrity…their people skills...their character. Once they develop the winning edge…They become UNSTOPPABLE…They are force to be RECKONED WITH…They are the LEADER that people are LOOKING FOR.Here are 10 things that I believe you need to WIN BIG in Life and Business Get Excited. People cannot handle any more negativity. They can't handle any more wimps and whiners. 90% of the population can stay excited about something for 2-3 months and then they are done with it and on to something else. 7% of the population can stay excited for 2-3 years and then they are off to something else just before they exprience TRUE success. 3% of the population can stay excited for 20 or 30 years…however long it takes to be successful. Those are the folks that win BIG. Those are the success stories that we all hear about. These are the folks that breathe life..excitement. .. and enthusiasm in every person they meet and into everything they do. People LOVE being around positive...enthusia stic...excited people. Be that person and others will be drawn to you like moths to a flame.Become a Dreamer Again. You have got to have a great big fat dream that lights you up like the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center . It has to be so vivid that whenever you think about it your heart starts pounding in your chest. It's the dream that keeps you awake at night trying to figure out how you are going to make it happen. If you don't have a dream like this you are dead in the water when things get tough. You will have nothing to keep you moving forward and you will quit. Make your dreams so real for yourself that you have no choice but to become the you of your dreams.Feel GOOD About Yourself. You have got to OBLITERATE the words I CAN'T from your vocabulary. You have got to bury them and let them rest in peace. They can never fall from your lips again..they can never enter your mind again. When you banish those words of lack and limitation from your vocabulary and your mind … YOU CAN DO ANYTHING…YOU BECOME UNSTOPPABLEStand For Something. People are fed up with wishy-washy lookie-loos…fence sitters. People are looking for…they are demanding honest LEADERS with integrity to step up and reveal themselves…to LEAD. People are tired of the con artists…the shills who are willing to sell any kind of junk just to make a buck. People are clamoring for honesty. When you step up and stand for something, when you speak with integrity and honesty…the right people will hear you and flock to you. You become the leader that they have been searching for.Get Used To Being Controversial. You have got to be controversial. When everyone is zigging…you need to zagging. If you are doing exactly what everyone else is doing you are average and ordinary. You are nothing more than mediocre. If you want everyone to like you…mediocre will do the trick just fine. When you choose to be controversial…you become extraordinary. Lot 's of people won't like you. Get used to it. You CAN be awesome and tough at the same time. The RIGHT people will appreciate you for it. And they will join forces with you because you are singing a song that is music to their ears.Get Totally Committed. You must be totally committed to what you are all about. You can't just try something out to see if it works for you. You can't become successful by dipping your big toe in the water to see if the temperature is just right. It's all or nothing. JUMP IN and SWIM. You have got to be committed to doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Commitment gives you the courage you need to fight back..to motivate yourself when things get tough. And trust me….things will get tough. Things will not always work out the way that you want them to. Commitment gives you the strength you need to pick yourself up for the 8th time right after you have fallen flat on your butt 7 times. It gives you the strength to talk to one more person after 100 have said NO to you. It gives you the strength to learn the skills that you need to master a new piece of technology. Commitment gives you confidence…it strengthens your faith in yourself and what you are doing.Treat People Right. You have got to treat people right. You have got to LOVE people. You have got to CARE about them. You got to be willing to get burnt once in a while so that you can show people how GREAT they really are. Everyone wants to be SOMEBODY. Everyone wants to know that they are IMPORTANT. Everyone wants to know that they are VALUABLE. Everyone wants to be APPRECIATED. When you choose to speak a person's GREATNESS INTO THEM. When you choose to show someone just how IMPORTANT THEY ARE, you just became the miracle that they are looking for.Have The Right Priorities. You have to have the right priorities. You are a holistic being. Your life must be in balance. Tunnel vision doesn't cut it. If you have a lousy spiritual life…or a lousy personal life…ultimately your business will pay the price for your imbalance. YOU are your business. If you are not thriving personally or spiritually…it will show up in your business sooner or later. The healthier you are…the healthier your business is. Take the time to work on all areas of your life. Your business will thrive because of it.Have The Heart of a Champion. You have got to have the heart of a champion. The desire and will to win is EVERYTHING. You have got to get FIRED UP and STAY FIRED UP. You are here to make a difference with your life. You have got to be willing to pay the price and a little bit more that success demands of you to win. You have got to be mentally tough and you can never…ever quit. QUITTERS NEVER WIN and WINNERS NEVER QUIT.Be A Leader. You have got to be a leader. Leadership is EVERYTHING. This world desperately needs leaders. Leaders make things happen…they JUST DO IT. "Almost" is a lifestyle for most people…I almost did this….I almost did that… Winners DO IT…Leaders DO IT. They do whatever it takes to get the job done…they do whatever it takes to win. They roll up their sleeves..they hunker down and they just do it…and do it..and do it..and do it…until the job gets done !! Get rid of the excuses… get rid of the I can'ts…banish the I don't want to's…and just DO IT.
Janna Arnold

O God of Mercy, we beg You now to protect in a special way those who are fighting for us and for the country we love. She was a wonderful grandmother to me. She was very outgoing and loved to play, whether it was a game of cards or out dancing the night away. When any family or close friends came to town there was always a gathering at her house, pot luck, lots of yummy food. My favorite was her fried chicken and her wonderful sweet macaroni salad. That no one has even came close to making since she has been gone. Although I will give my grandma C credit for trying, hers is good just not like Grandma Freda's. Lots of food and grandma always had sweets in the house, even when there was not anyone coming to town. If there was no cookies in the cookie jar. There was always some in the freeze on the porch and if she was out there, by golly there always were cool whip containers out in the garage full of cookies. I loved the frozen cookies she had. She is the one that taught me to dip them in black coffee, oh my. What a treat. To this I day love to freeze my homemade cookies just so I can dip them in my coffee, that is the only way I will have a cup , then I let me kids have the rest. I know should not give my kids coffee, but it did not hurt me so I am sure they will alright by drinking the crumbs in the little bit of coffee that is left. I have so many memories of her. Sometimes she would let me go into her room and pick out a pair of her shoes and play for a while I was there. She had every color every style of shoe that was known. She would not buy one pair but four of the same shoe in different colors. Her closets were full of clothes. Bright colors, crazy designs, of course she had the grandma blah clothes too. She even had a selection of wigs. But let me tell you this woman took pride in what she looked like. And her closet was just the beginning of it. On her vanity set a gold round tray with glass in the bottom of it and set several bottles of perfumes some were even in fancy bottles and pump sprayers. On the wall she had tons of necklaces hanging all different colors and styles A jewelry box full of clip on earrings.. Sometimes she would let me wear some of the necklace and earrings while I was running around her house. If you went into her all pink bathroom, even the tub was pink and cool weird shape tub. and you open any of the drawers there you would find twenty different colors of lipstick and tons of nail polish. My great grandmother not only had taste in fashion, but I can remember us cousins back on the back porch listening to her selection of music she had, anywhere from on top of old smoky to some song about not playing with my dingling song, to Hank Williams Jr. If we were not back listening to the tunes we were in the china hutch where all the cool board games poker chips, dominos etc. were stored. On that china hutch was a green candy dish that always had mints or lemon drops in it. If it was not on the hutch it was on her table. Grandma's house was like out of a picture everything had its place. Even after a gathering that ended at one am. It was always picture perfect. We lived a block from each other and I can always remember going over to see her in the afternoon and we would watch jeopardy together or family feud. Sometimes her boyfriend George would be over visiting. He taught my brother and I how to play golf, a card game with four cards. He was a good guy for the most part. He helped my grandmother out and they seemed to enjoy each other's company. One passion that my grandmother and I shared was Sheba. I really not for sure who Sheba belonged to, but somehow she became my dog at night and Grandma Freda's by day. She was a mixed Beagle I think. She was my best friend. Love to cuddle and have her tummy rubbed. Even if grandma was out having coffee with her friends, Sheba would be on her steps waiting for her. And then in the evening time she would come home to me. Sheba moved out to the farm with us, and sometimes she would get to see grandma. . What wonderful memories I still have of her. . Just like yesterday being able to taste the wonderful food and sweets and the smell of her lingers in the air sometimes. As I got older, Grandma started to have some problems with feeling blue and sad a lot. She seemed to struggle with that in her final days here on earth. It was sad to see her go thru some of the things she dealt with and lot of us did not understand why she was blue. She lost the drive of the partier inside her, and the will of happiness. Sometimes the unknown is for the good.

I can relate to that void inside from time to time, such a dark lonely place to be. . I sure do miss those times we shared. But I will always remember and she will never be forgotten.

I am so excited that I have started to blog about all the crazy things I have going on in my life and threw my mind. Just you wait, and you will totally agree with me . My life is not as normal as to others. But for now I must deal with the drama in my three year old daughter's life, and I will be back soon. Until then....
Kimmieks....xoxoxox

I have finally have come to the end of my day, Kids are all tucked in and snug, our four legged babies are in for the night , started a load of wash and started the dishwasher, Not really for sure where I am going with this blog, but I will start off with talking about myself some.

I am a mother of six, I have been married for eight years to a wonderful man, great father, and my best friend. I am a single mom during the first three to four days of the week, we always look forward to daddy coming home and he sure is missed when is out on the road.

Not only am a mother and a wife, I also run a business out of my home. I set up customer accounts and do some marketing. I love being able to stay home with my kids to be able to get them up and see them on the school bus and to be able to kiss them goodnight.

Things I like to do when I have some me time , I like to read, camp, sleep, write, be with friends and family. I would consider myself very open and laid back person. Now I have not always been that way. It was not till the birth of my triplets and having them at 28 weeks. Going from a complete control freak all of my life, to not having control over nothing, loosing a child to the good lord above to watching the first four months of life being so stressful for everyone involved and being so helpless. I am sure am blessed thou. My honey and I adopted two little boys and during that process I became pregnant with triplets it was a very complicated pregnancy from the get go and I was not to make thur my first trimester. Needless to say i made it to 28 weeks 1day. Two boys and one girl. My son Micheal had issues and was not strong enough to pull thur. He made it long enough to be baptized and then god took him home. After four months in the Ni cu. We were all home together as a family, my 19 year old daughter (step but she is mine) 7 yr old boy, 8 yr old boy, and the triplets which are now three, boy and girl.

Till next time ...
Kimmieks...xoxoxo
..
