Looking at the way I have been writing, it's been pretty
obvious that I write when I feel so many thoughts going through my head. Today
29th December is a sad day in the country on the demise of the 23 year old girl
after her brutal gang rape and torture.
I have been hearing a lot of noise or news as I must say from various media
houses on TV. I personally always had a lot going through my head by getting to
know about the no. of incidents of rape over the last year through news
channels of course.

Just been introspecting and looking back at my life on what
are the incidents where in I saw someone taking a stand against smallest of
indecent behavior against the girl. With this post I intend to share all that
with you all.

Few days back I updated my Facebook status as :

" For every one of you who
commented on #delhirapecase request you to stand up to the eve teasers or make
sure you complain about them.. If we do our bit then a social conscience would
develop .. as per me this act is result of consistent ignorance by each and
every one of us...do this to bring about a social change by being the change..a
society is a reflection of the people living in it..next time you see someone
getting eve teased or you are the victim then stand up against it.. Let everyone
know that disrespecting a woman in any way is something for which one can be
debarred from society ..Share it if you like it."

The statement came to me because the people around me taught
me not to do such stupid things, as a teenager young boy one is always
challenged to show his heroics by doing such acts of stupidity like eve
teasing, that makes you the chosen one or may be the SARPANCH of the gang with
which you hang out in the evening.

I personally feel that a lot needs to be done as a society
from each and every one of us to bring a change in the society where in woman
would not be treated with inhuman treatments like domestic violence, rape , eve
teasing etc. I would like to share short snippet incident what made me an
individual who knows how to respect woman.

Now the question is how did I learn it:

There
was this time in our colony that we were celebrating HOLI and the colony had a
Russian complex inside too, for the guys it was a dream come true because that
was the day when all of us were allowed to get into the Russian complex and for
guys it was a dream come true to meet the Russian girls and play HOLI with
them.
Everything used to happen within the limits apart from this one time when a
group of my seniors were drunk and then on the day of HOLI they manhandled the
girl. Since ours was a small colony this news spread like a wild fire. The next
course of action taken was that all the parents of the colony met together and
the parents of the seniors who were part of the episode agreed to teach each of
their kids a lesson. I still remember the father of the guy coming out and
letting the mob to take OR I should say drag his son out and taken to the task
in front of the whole crowd. The guys were slapped and beaten not profusely but
to the right level so that they realize ki "ASLI BAAP KAUN HAI". (WHO's THE BOSS AROUND HERE)

This incident instilled a faith in me that no one who does
wrong can do away with it, my seniors also realized that and all of them are
leading a respectable life in the same colony. They hold their head high today
because they became the symbol of the notion that if you do wrong you will get
punished for it.

I
saw this whole episode and came to know that this is wrong and made sure that I
always discourage the eve teasing and any other sort of act of stupidity
against any of the girls. Well I did became infamous in the group sometimes,
but I feel that if all of us can do it a little bit from our end then may be whole
of India OR WORLD can become a better place to live.

I learned it but why there's so many people who are yet to
get this lesson:

This is because I saw the act getting punished and people
repenting for it immediately.
But in reality one who does the crime because of our great Indian judicial
system which works on the principal of :

We can leave even 1000 criminals to escape but nowhere should one innocent be prosecuted

takes so much time to decide if the crime was done and how
and by whom.

After that to deliver the judgment
it takes so much time that people who were not the part of the crime but have a
knack that they might want to commit it in future get a feeling that they can
get away with it because the other guy is still able to get away from the
actual punishment which he is supposed to get.

FOR ME ITS SIMPLE GUYS THAT IF YOU DO WRONG YOU WILL BE
PUNISHED FOR IT. I GOT THIS MESSAGE FROM THE SOCIETY AS A WHOLE. THIS
SENSITIZED ME AND MADE ME AN INDIVIDUAL WHICH I AM TODAY.

I am pretty sure that the people who do such heinous crimes
would have gotten away with smaller scale crimes in their past, this would have
acted as boost to their psychological thinking that if they got away from that
crime they can get away from this one too.

All of this is my personal opinion and there's no intention bad mouth about any one.

Until next time.

Thanks
Dibyendu

Hi All,

It's been quite some time that I update my blog with some stuff. I call this period the Dormat one cos was busy with lot of stuff going around. Last time when I posted a real article was about more than 2 years ago. Been a long time and have grown up a lot in last 2 years.

Looks like writing a book about what I did in the past did not turn up well. Well now on I n see that blogging is about information, so here’s a snippet about my Coorg trip with wifey (Yipeeeee yes for all of you m married now ..sorry gals :P).

The trip was planned suddenly but I did do some amount of planning which is highly unlikely in case of individuals like me any how marriage changes you so I had to do some planning to convince wifey that we are actually heading somewhere.

So where should I start from, well after doing some research I found that if you are not willing to shell 3K per night per person for your holidaying then Home Stay’s are the best options available. All the branded resorts and jungle huts are too expensive for a traveller like me. Gimme a break I don’t need an AC room while m @ Hill station and a plush bed. So my recommendation is go with a home Stay. Because of my lovely sis I got a reference for the home stay, she always comes to rescue when M in dilemma. The details are mentioned below:

NARI KADI Home Stay

Kutta Town, NAGARHOLE National Park.

Contact Person: Mr T T Raghu : 9448504203 and 9972232400 and 08274-244175

NARI KADI

(Although this would not open the page for the home stay but would redirect you to some other travel website)

When I spoke to this guy, he told me to transfer some amount of money as a part of Advance booking. I did NEFT for the account in CANARA bank from my CITIBANK account which came back to my account in 3 days. So transfer only if you have a CANARA Bank account.

So we started the journey and before that Mr Raghu made sure that we know the route properly.

Here’s the snippet of the route we took to Reach Kutta town:

Bangalore --> Mysore(Take diversion before city) --> Iruvala --> HUNSUR --> HUNSUR TOWN --> Go to the Old Bus Stand in Hunsir town --> You will find a Petrol BUNK (Take Left from there) --> Take the NAGARHOLE NATIONAL Park Road --> CROSS the NAGAHOLE National Park --> KUTTA Town CANARA BANK.

Well the journey took about 6 hrs here are few highlights of the Journey and points to be taken care of:
1. Do try to stop and spend some time staring @ Hills of RAMANAGARAM, they are too good of a view and remember the good old lines of movie Sholay “Tera kya hoga kaliya” .. :P.
2. Then if you have a lill one waiting @ home or he/shes travelling with you in that case do take a halt @ Chennapatna and buy him some toys made of wood.
3. For the tiffin or breakfast always stop by @ branded places like CCD’s or adigas or kamats, they have neat n clean rest rooms which are much needed to freshen up.
4. If you are a photography enthusiast then you have n number of halts to take and capture the lush green fields.
5. Do enjoy the sounds of wild life while passing through the NAGARHOLE National park keep the windows open and don’t play music to listen to the sounds of chirping birds. Keep you cameras ready and keep taking shots of the herds of Deer and Elephants.

Day 1:
Recco is to start in the morning so that you reach your home stay by after noon and have sumptuous lunch there. Well we reached to the Kutta town and found that it was a small village. It was not big deal to find the place it was about 500 meter from Canara bank kutta town. Since this was my first experience to stay @ Home stay I had my apprehensions but my apprehensions were laid to rest once I saw my room and the property. Huge house with an amazing view and especially my room had a cool view of the 40 acre property with lush green fields and a small pond too. The guys were too hospitable and lunch was just too good. Don’t forget to mention that you are a non-veg loving guy, the variety available @ home stay was amazing.
To get rid of the tiredness of the trip we crashed for some time and as usual the time passed by in the serene environment of the property. We got our senses back @ 5 PM, it was late the ideal plan should be to get up by 4 and head to the IRUPU FALLS which is an awesome place to see, but since we were late we missed it and so we were guided to head to WAYANAD road and see the Thirunelly temple which is a 5000 year old temple located in WAYANAD Forest which was @ a distance of about 23 Kms from home stay.
We reached the temple it was almost evening and sun was setting but the temple had some considerable crowd because the coming Monday was Onam. We spent some time there bought some souvenirs’ and headed back to the home stay which we reached at around 8:30 PM. There was another family staying there, we met them in amidst circle of Bon Fire, we chatted for some time and then headed for dinner. Since the other family was pure vegetarian we decided to go 2nd. As usual dinner was again finger licking a home cooked food with varieties. Highly recommended is the Rassam from Mr Raghu’s wife.
While waiting for the dinner Mr Raghu fixed us for doing white water rafting. If you go from his home stay the rates are discounted from 1200/- to 1000/-. With eagerly waiting for the next day adventure we crashed for the gud nite sleep and that’s how the day 1 ended for us.

Day 2:
Well the next day we decided to be early birds to take a walk along the property which again did not work out so we decided to get ready for the white water rafting adventure. We got up and freshened up and yes of you are going for white water rafting then taking bath n going there is not a great idea, I’ll tell you why is it so later on. We reached camp @ around 9:20 am n guess what there were not too many people to start the trip, so we had to wait for about an hour to get the first trip started. So me and wifey took a stroll around the dense forest and enjoyed the nature. The walk was amazing and we clicked some great shot’s of the Cauvery River and surroundings. We came back to the rafting camp and the guy who owns the place whose name is Alok askd me to check if there were any leeches dat I got and guess wat there was one which had stuck onto my ankle. Wifey screamed and first words which came out of me were “this is so cool”.. I know this was wired but yeah I had not experienced a leach before. Alok took a burning wood from the bon fire and stuck it onto the leech. The leech came of and there was some bleeding for next 10 minutes and then it clotted there.
In an hours time there were other people who joined the camp. To give you a snap shot of the place of how it looked like you can see this Making a splash , after going through this I don’t need to introduce you to Alok, Mahender and Subhash. I had Mahender as my guide. He was friendly. We learned the basics of commands and we started to set off and start the expedition.
I dunno wat to write of what I did there just wanna say that it’s about an experience and it’s just out of the world. I’ll say that if you are low on confidence then you must try this and will give you ouzels of confidence and much needed strength to look upto life with much more dexterity.
It’s a MUST DO !!!

This adventure was over by 2:00 PM, the whole episode took @ around 3 hrs including the training and completing all the rapids.
Then it was time for lunch but we were not left with much of a time to have one so we directly headed to the irupu falls and in the mean time we munched on to some chips and dharwad pedas which my sweet wife carried along (some buttering for her in such a long post). To reach the falls you need to walk about a kilometre which is relatively less than other places. We reached there took some neat snaps captured our moments in the camera. The falls was worth it and amazing and both of us loved the site and loved the ambience, it was too romantic. Looked like a site of Mungaaru Male movie and I felt like Ganesh with my heroine along with me in this case though :P.
After this it was around 4:00 PM and we headed back to the home stay where the lunch was waiting for us. We went directly to the lunch table there and since we were hungry we enjoyed the rice noodles with some neat chicken and fish. After that it was time to crash again which we did and we got awesome coffee in the evening. We were just thinking what to do for the evening then Raghu’s son Monish offered us a ride though his jeep in the jungles of Wayanad. We hopped on with other family and the view of some wild rabbits and deers were amazing. We could not spot a Bison though, but the ride was too good.
After the ride was over we joined the other family for the dinner and we chatted over the dinner and then again we crashed after the dinner in the mean time we got the iternary for the next day set. The plan was to have break fast and then leave for places to see. Since it was the final day we had some stringent deadlines to meet to cover the places which we had to see.

Day 3:
So the third day started and guess what .. this time we got up and we were on time we left the home stay at around 8:30 am in the morning. We had the route set and we knew which places to skip. Thanks to Monish for telling us which places were worth giving a skip. So we started our journey. The first destination was to head to Talakaveri.

The plan was something like this:
TALAKAVERI --> COORG --> KUSHALNAGAR --> MYSORE

The day consisted of long hours of drive and seeing the places with a surge of Urgency. TALAKAVERI is a must visit place, this is just amazing in terms of the scenic beauty and the temple is neat and clean. While we were there the weather was bit cloudy so missed the view part of the place. So we headed for the drive to coorg and by the time we reached there it wqas 4:00 PM and we hogged onto a place to have lunch. My wife was hapy to find some north Indian food after 2 days of sambhar and rassam and I must say the feeling was mutual. After that we headed to Kushalnagar. The Buddhist monastery reminded me of Bodh Gaya and Rajgir in BIHAR. Love the peace and serenity of the place and would love to there again to visit again to grab some more snaps in my camera. Must do is to have some Momos from local joints. Then we headed back to Bangalore as it was already 7:00 PM.

A sudden VISIT to Mysore:
As we were heading back our driver suggested that if we spent 1 more hour then may be we can see mysore palace lighting as it was a Sunday. We decided to give it a shot and missed the lights by 3 minutes. Anyhow it was worth the effort cos it was for the first time my wife saw such a palatial palace (this is a new word to express wat she felt). Spending some 20 minutes there and did some spot shopping and left for Bangalore.

That's it guys hope this was informative will continue to post the same again and again.
I was not able to write from last few weeks because of certain engagements which held me up even after my working hours. Sorry for not continuing with the first love part II just because I don’t think that situation demands this kind of article. Most of the readers of this blog are my friends and are known to me, So, I feel to share this information with u people that Sushant’s (my best buddy in town) lost his father in an accident. We are a gang of people who go out and have fun; the heart of the team is Sushant we started out careers together and then resigned from our job on the same day which was followed by joining the same company on the same day. I pray to god that his father’s soul rests in peace and god gives sushant all the strength to face this crisis situation.

Mood of the gang is always set by sushant’s sense of humor and it’s hard to think that what would have been going through his mind at this point in time. For me this was again a reminder from the almighty that why you should go to him and pray for the well being of yourself , family and people known to you. The destiny takes its own course and as they say that life is a roller coaster ride is very much evident with what I see around. I still don’t know why am I writing this post and bringing a kind of seriousness on your faces but I can’t just help it. Everything which I have been doing from last 2 days I tend to relate each and everything with Sushant, questions like “How he must be feeling?, Is he going to be fine? And what would he be doing right now?” keep popping in my mind which is really disturbing.

Dealing with such crisis tests the strength of a person up to an optimum level; I have been through such a situation and have certain ways to make you a better standing person in such crisis. You will face a complete chaotic situation which will be out of control; one should always look around for the people who are more prone to getting sick and get unconscious because of the shock. The problem starts after 2-3 days from the crisis where in you have to tell people what happened and how it happened, mind it every person will have a difference response or piece of advice and then people will start talking about a third person who had faced similar situation. My suggestion to all of you if you are among the crowd is to keep your mouth shut and act as a support. Assure the person facing the crisis that support will always be present whether it’s a day from now or a year from now. As a member of the crowd, be helpful there’ll be hundreds of things going around try to take up the responsibility and make sure that it’s done. In a chaotic situation like this the family in shock what you can do to help is take care of the kid if the family has any and make sure that he takes his food on time.

If unfortunately you are the part of the family facing the crisis then in that case all I would say is be very subtle, don’t listen to what others are saying and stop thinking, yes stop thinking about what happened and what’s going to happen, live by thinking about every hour and let people know what you intend to do in next hour and put your focus in getting it done. This would help the person to manage things properly at that point in time and make sure that proper care is being taken of the other family member’s. If you really don’t have anything to do and you are the person performing the ceremonies then get a copy of Shreemad Bhagwat Gita and read it daily. This helps to understand the basics of life and world surrounded around it.

I pray to god from this point in time none of us reading this face such a crisis any more. All the condolences to Sushant and his family, we are there with you my friend and will always be, be brave and take care of Auntie and Didi.

Please pass on your condolence message as a comment to this post and pray for the soul of passed away.

Thanks
Dibyendu

Just for fun : Charlie Bit me

See this video on youtube its damn funny Click Here

Just could not resist this one also ...See This

Important Piece of Information and basic fundamentals of Monetary Policy explained in very simple terms ... See This

The first Love And the Life @ 10 + 1

Well the heading says it all for me. I still can look at a blank wall and start thinking about Ashu and see her as a heroine in the lush green fields of Switzerland and sing a song describing about her beauty......Let me stop now or else you guys n gals will start thinking that the person writing this post is a big fan of Yash raj movies.....But no doubt the Yash Raj movies define a major part of an ideal romance of a Indian middle class guy who is from a small town....I bet that for sure. For me till date those were the days when I was getting into Love mode of my life. Some say love happens to you when you are 16 but for me it happened when I was 17 which was not a great age to think about love because this is the stage where one defines the course of his or her future. I had a great reputation from my 10th board exams which helped me to get into any class of the school and sometimes even an interaction with students of the current year 10th grade who always looked up to us..... Before beginning this post I should have said a ton thanks to my mom to make me buy a new laptop and today this post is the first which I am writing on my new laptop. This was a great necessity since I started writing the blog because most of the times I used to think that what should I be doing in my free time at home and used to miss a laptop, well this may seem like an idiotic excuse the moment I tell you that I do have a desktop PC with me. Now I can see you guys giving a look which usually my boss gives me when I do 1 issue a day and look says that “What’s the big deal in this and this took you 8 hrs”. (Sorry for losing the tracks again ...well when you are working you tend to relate the smallest of the things with you office lives.....see again I m doing that).....Let’s get back to the story.... As mentioned in the previous post the 10th grade had Ashu in that class. But there was a buzz in the school that she liked a Guy name Sachin Bahl who was a year senior to me and was more handsome smart and more intelligent than me because he was the overall topper of his batch, which made him superior to me. I was not hurt because the guy giving me the competition was better off than me in all the aspects. So I said again the same old words to me to console me that “If I don’t walk up to Ashu and tell her that I like her then in that case its better for both or I should say three of us one is Ashu and second is me and the third is Sachin, in the above case I was the only one who’s gonna suffer and I will be Ok with this”. (Again would reiterate that this attitude sucks and takes you nowhere in life, if any of you have such an attitude change it for your own sake) So in the later part of the 11th grade I was pretty much convinced that I am good with Ashu’s status of being with Sachin, but I never denied myself of a chance of looking at Ashu and seeing her beautiful looks and taking a long breath with a feeling which would internally say to me that “Oh God ....I love that girl so much”. This was good from my side and from Ashu’s side also because she started responding back to my glances which was not a great deal. But I never saw that spark in her eyes which I definitely saw when Sachin used to be around her. But you know what I am a Bihari and I bet Bihari’s are good at raking in the maximum benefits of any chance given to them, whether its related to any stream in life, no need to mention academics. So passed the stage where in I needed to get used to the fact that she was not mine but somebody else’s, but I had that itch and a small regret that how could I let go the girl whom I have been looking at since last 4 years. But I was not a loser and kept my eyes and ears open and started giving a great attention to a Goal of my life which was not Ashu but IIT. In a small place you can be a stud based on your marks you score in the exam along with more benefits to come your way. Time other than thinking about Ashu was spent in battling with the sums of PCM from the brilliant tutorials book, which is a kind of religious book which every student gets when he passes from 10th grade and aspires to clear IIT. IIT was a big deal a group of students who were best among the best and had an intellect which world would respect and a brand which helps you to get a ticket which allows you to break into the big league at any point in time. I always wanted to go to the IITs but seeing the atmosphere of the Colony and going by the track record and the level of education in the school the chances were almost zero. Since the place where we used to stay was far from the City of Jamshedpur so there was less probability of going to city for coaching classes. So in one line it was a effort with no infrastructure in place to get through the IITs. The next good thing which happened was that TV in the house got burnt because of the thunder and lighting. So the only sole entertainer in the house was our music system on which I used to listen to the typical bollywood songs. As you grow up your choices start changing, and i started developing a liking for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sahab’s style of singing and also Junoon from Pakistan which was very good, especially the song “lal meri pat akhiyo bala jhule la lad.....dama dam mast kalandar .....” The next best thing was Ghazal’s from Jagjit singh which i started liking from the day when my sister gifted me a recorded cassette of his ghazals and after that it was just an addiction in terms of playing the same songs again and again. The above activities kept me at the bay from the thoughts of ashu and i was happy with the kind of lifestyle which i was developing which was actually contributing towards the growth of my personality. I liked to be confident and my parents were also happy since i was picking up the right things and trying to create a niche for me in the society not by going through the rules which every other guy used to follow. Al studious guys never came out in the evenings and started their studies from 6:30 PM but for me my TT was an integral part of my routing which also kept me physically fit. TT is the game which fascinates me till date and I njoy playing TT till date and will do it for the rest of my life. Deep down within me I knew i was not taking the efforts to get through the IIT because nobody in my class was doing so. So if you are alone in the war then definitely you have to fight even harder which was even more difficult in the lack of appropriate guidance from the experts. All in all i was spending time with Likes of Resnick and Halliday, Sears Zeamansky’s, HC Verma’s physics....with Hall and Knight’s algebra along with Loni’s trigonometry, the Chemistry was not a big deal because had an encyclopaedia in the same at home in form of my elder Sister as she was done with her Masters in Analytical chemistry. This is how I passed my 11th standard and the next important thing attached to the 11th standard was the all south India tour which I went on with my parents and grand parents(It was 6 of us mom, dad, baba, nani, didi and last but not the least it was me). That was fun possibly I would write a separate post for it and it gave me a lot of ideas about beautiful places and an idea of what to do where.

Happy Independence Day

<img src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj187zFNspJoeVw66smrd8rHJGA16QA7LUd0GN9raKfIN-yNmTqTibzAyoeZ4yYeA0V5soDz0ocFEn3WNXJ9cpms3iP2V9h6pm76H77Pxzsx3oiE0g61GrzRtceCg_LAFn7VX6Fg/s400/IMG_1567.JPG' border='0' alt=''style='clear:both;float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;' />
Happy Independence day to all of you.

Bulbul and the Lip locking Episode

As I mentioned the class has passed the boundary for adolescence and people started getting crushes on one or the other gal if I don’t tell you about Bulbul and Anamika then it would not be justice to avid readers of my posts. To have a background about both of them:

Bulbul as I have known him he was born in Jaduguda and was in same school right from the elementary classes till the 10th grade and he was the guy who scored 100 percent marks in science paper in 10th. He was a sincere and a kind of simple guy with no hard feelings and having a happy go lucky kind of attitude.

Here comes Anamika a gal with lot of attitude in her and till date I find her knowledge about English out of the world. Anamika joined our school in 8th grade from a Convent School in Calcutta she came in from there as her dad was transferred from the Cal (Right now Kolkata) to Jamshedpur and she used to stay in the AMD (Atomic Mineral Department) colony which was even more far from school than my place. So she used to travel up to my place and catch the school bus from there. When she joined the school you can imagine the paradigm shift for her because she came from a posh convent school in Kolkata and now she was in a government school where there was no glamour as children of all the grades of employees used to go to the same school. A laborers kid was in the same class sitting on the same desk as an officers kid used to sit. This gal when she moved in looked at us as if we were untouchables and had no manners, loads of attitude….huh. That was the first time in my life when I felt that what attitude means, shrugging of everybody and having your nose up all the time as if you landed from Jupiter or a relative of Sabu (Chacha chowdary Fame) and wish to get special treatment as chachi used to give Sabu.

Physically also she was kind of different in my 8th grade we never saw a gal with such great #%%$ and #$$, the gals from the colony used to be beautiful but not as heavy as she was and that to without any looks. The only reason no one dared to dare that girl because she was so heavy that guys were thinking what happens if she goes wild and throws you down and sits on you, then there could be only 2 things that cud happen to you either the intestines will come out of your mouth or you could become a carpet the same ways Tom becomes a carpet the moment jerry runs over him with a roller machine.

After such a description above you must be thinking that I must have hated that girl like anything, which is true but today she is one my best buddies around and knows everything about me, she only insisted to write about her and bulbul because I am not usually good describing other people’s relationship. This was an exception because fortunately or unfortunately I was the person who played the mediators role in this case and I knew much more about both of them and what they felt than anybody else in the class.

Getting back to the chemistry, I mean the chemistry between bulbul and Anamika. Bulbul as I said was never out of place but deep inside him he had a lot of enthusiasm to explore the outside world and typically he was not made for a colony rules where in you are supposed to live life by rules or by books. In Anamika he found a girl who never gave a damn about what people thought about her, she was dynamic smart and was also having a great control over English. Anamika always knew how to make a guy fall for her and seduce the guy by giving the looks which was very rare for a government school guy. As they say opposites attract bulbul was crazy about her and he used to tell me about her all the time. This episode happened when we were in 11th Grade and cold war between me and Anamika was over and she learned to be a girl with no attitude and have fun. The force which brought them even more together was that both of them had opted for Hindi as elective, while Anamika was pure biology and bulbul was pure mathematics. It was a mutual attraction and both of them came together; I happened to be the guy who knew both of them and knew what’s cooking also. Anamika used to consider bulbul a joker and used to laugh like a child on his every tantrums and bulbul’s only mission was to see Anamika smiling.

What I never understood was that both of them were completely different and being so different how could they be together. Bulbul started losing it out to Anamika and due to which his studies were affected. I saw them going around and being happy, even at times I used to go around with them in school during the PT(physical training…one of m favorite classes) periods, this episode changed an impression about Anamika for me. I came to know that every girl is a kid inside they just love to play but as they grow up the toys change and when they mature they actually play mind games more than anything else.

Now comes the interesting part the Lip locking episode and I know guys would be most interested in this. Our bus used to leave school at around 4:30 PM in which Anamika was supposed to board, but on that day the last class was of hindi and teacher for hindi was not present and it happened that no alternate arrangements were made to take over class. So, the whole class went to their favorite corners and has fun some students studying and some chatting. To my surprise I could not see Anamika and bulbul around which surprised me. When the school was over then I found out that even Anamika didn’t board the bus but I do saw the jeep which used to drop her and was sure that she must have gone to Biology teacher’s house where she was a usual visitor for some extra sessions. The next day I got back to school and pretty usually I saw bulbul and Anamika chatting to each other Anamika sitting on Uma’s place and bulbul on his place. I kept my bag and my hand touched Anamikas hand and I felt a strange sensation, it was softer and cozier so I kept it that way. After 2 classes were over we had a break of 10 mins which I asked her “where were you yesterday?”, she said “We went to the shiv mandir”, I said “OK so you and bulbul went there, hmmm.. then I don’t see any sindur on your forehead”.

Anamika gave me an annoying look and said “We didn’t go to get married there, we had a nice time”….this line was followed with a smile which was the smile of …..hmmmm…what should I say it was a naughty kind of smile…Then I asked her “I think I can guess that you guys are up to something, now the point is are you going to tell me what happened or Bulbul’s going to tell me about you”. I was confident that bulbul would definitely come back and tell me every detail of what happened between him and Anamika because this had become bulbul’s daily routine. Then Anamika told me “I kissed bulbul in shiv mandir yesterday, it was good”, for me it was shock because first time in my life I knew a guy and girl who kissed each other and both of them were one of my best buddies around in the school. I stared at Anamika and gave her a look which a teacher would give to a student when the student fails besides best efforts from the teacher. I said “I never expected such a thing from you guys, you both have let me down and I am going to tech bulbul a lesson for this not because he kissed you but because how could he do this to himself and do something which he would not even think about”.

I am sorry for the readers if am sounding too orthodox but a person with my kind of background and upbringing could easily make out where I am coming from. I ran to the stage leaving Anamika behind and I knew where to find bulbul, he would be seating at one corner along with Ranjit who could play any song in a plain wooden desk with his hands, as every person in love bulbul would be singing and Ranjit would make his singing better with his beats, the most usual one was “Teri Adaon pe merta hu …love tujhe love mein karta hu….” From Barsaat.

I went there and asked bulbul “Where were you during the last period yesterday?”, “Shit did Anamika tell you about yesterday, I told her not to tell you” was bulbul’a response. This response pissed me off I caught bulbul by his collar and pushed him towards the wall and said “Dude I was the one who gave you all the leads to get into Anamika’s life and now both of you are getting into these cheap things”. I still don’t understand why I reacted in such a manner to the bulbul and Anamika kissing episode, I think it was the first thing that both of them did without getting me in the loop may be that was one of the reasons or may be that I wanted to see them as an ideal couple who could be together no matter what the situation is, but it’s not about what you expect from other people but it’s about what people expect or feel about each other. This post would lead most of you to think I did all this because I could not kiss Anamika but believe me I had no such intentions but I was also apprehensive about a small town guy being manipulated by the glamour of the outside world. This incident was an eye opener for me in terms that there could be guy and girl with a casual relationship and it’s necessary that both of them have to be in love like Romeo Juliet or as they say heer ranjha in Hindi or Sheeri and farhan in urdu. The world was ahead and I still held that old romance from movies in my mind.

Intro to the Adolescence and G effect:

When you prove that you are successful then the time is great to go around the places and enjoy the times with your friends. After crossing the first barrier of my life I was happy and full of enthusiasm to explore all together a new world of subjects and Girls. The senior batch to us was again under tremendous pressure to fare good in the 12th grade examination. On the other hand it was our class which was again going to get a different set of toppers because the ball game had changed and people good in science always have the upper hand. Then there were a set of juniors who looked up to us. I was not bothered about juniors except for few, and those few were nothing but the gals who were rated at the topmost slot of being most beautiful and hot and sexy and …. I could go on.

Well to be very frank I did not like the most beautiful gal of the lot, but I liked another gal she would be ranked at around 2-3 in the school. She was beautiful, fair and she had something special as she had a smile on her face all the time. Until 11th grade it was fine for me to enjoy her beauty, but after this 10th grade I needed more I wanted to speak to her. All that happened was while I was in bus and she used to walk back home with umbrella in her hand, I used to see her till the time I lost the view of her face. She always thought that I was an Idiot but the results of 10th grade made it clear that I was not one among the herd where as I had something in me which she can go for.

There's a theory that "If you wanna get close to a gal then you need to get closer to her best friend".
Going by this theory I was lucky enough to have Trisita as Garima’s best friend, Trisita bhaumick a girl who was also called as the AIR (All India Radio) of the school, because if you wanted a gossip to doing rounds to be transformed into a broadcast without revealing the original source Trisita was the best person. All in all she knew I had interest in Garima because of the exchange of glances between me and Garima (which was pretty one sided) while I used to go back home by our school bus. She was kind of fat and not do good looking but since every coin had other sides her other part was very…. I don’t have the right word to describe it, this we’ll discuss when I write my post about my college life and my Nagpur visits.

I being the one among the toppers always helped, teachers especially Pramod Kumar Sahoo my Mathematics teacher used to speak about me in his classes and how I kept the promise of scoring the highest marks in mathematics. So, the ground work was already done and the impression was created that I was not just another admirer of her beauty, her smile and again I could go on…..The positive effect had some effect on her in a way she started acknowledging my smile and when I used to see her through the window of my bus even she used to smile. I still remember seeing her smiling face in the back drop of her pink umbrella and her lips used to beat the intensity of the pinkness of umbrella.

Hindi and Biology combination:

It was not only Garima’s effect had gripped me in 11th grade but there were other things which were equally confusing, one of them was to opt for the choice of subjects. The options were to go for Hindi or Biology. Initial phase I opted for Hindi to have a complete time for other Papers like Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, but after the summer vacation when I came back to school I saw many people switching back to Maths and Bio combination as most of them were not happy because the scores in Hindi had spoiled there aggregate percentages in 10th grade. When I went back home and analyzed my Score card then I came across the fact that all I scored in Hindi was around 55 where as the score for other people was around 75-85. It struck to my mind that I had scored good in 4 papers, but because of my low score in Hindi I could not make it to the top position.

This made me strongly opposed to Hindi as a result of which I changed my option to a combination of Maths and Biology. This was one of the first mistakes of my life which was largely as a result of the influence of family and friends as all of them told me that I am good and I should be willing to score better in the next board exams, none of them told me about the level of biology in upcoming grades. So, succumbing to the pressure from peers I said yes to Biology and the thought came to me “At least by doing this I am the only person who is going to suffer where as others will be happy”. When I got this thought I never knew that this thought and a consistent effort of following this thought would lead to many other wrong decisions. Why I am trying to stress on this is because what I feel is that if you want to succeed then one should always go by persons own instincts.

This resulted up in me taking up the Mathematics and Biology combination which is kind of unusual for a student of my kind of ability to handle both and do justice to both the subjects. I thought let’s give it a shot but I forgot that there are no second chances which would help me to recover from the mistake which I did by taking up biology. Any how I was ok and people around me were expecting wonders out of me which was a dilemma for them. I got to make many friends in my class both guys and gals, being a back bencher always helped in enjoying life and taking the notes. Some of my friends Bulbul and Uma whom I have discussed about in my previous post were having a nice time along with me.

As the whole of the class was on the other side of the boundary of adolescence there were constant rumors about guys and gals being together. This was a big deal at that point in time because being a part of the colony and also have the guts to have a relationship with a gal from the same colony been a risky affair. I always thought when I’ll get Garima I won’t let people gossip and we’ll be seen as a respectful couple because in most of the cases either the guy or the gal was not a good student unlike in our case both of us were decent students and we held a good rapport among the teachers.

This was a brief intro about things happening in my life at that point in time. Well I have an interesting story lined up for you.

Thanks
Dibyendu

The Board of Results

Talking about results they are furious nerve wrecking experiences and every time you stand in the queue and you expect the principal declaring the names of top three.

I went through a lot of drama for my board results or rather I should put it that my family went through a lot of drama which was because of my board results. Usually after the board exams it was time to have fun especially during the summer vacations but there used to be an IOTA of doubt inside everybody about the results questions like “How is it gonna be, I am going to get full marks for the last question of Mathematics paper or not?”. These thoughts used to scare the hell out of me, but over all these fears were not to be shown to the external world. In the external world people were expecting lot of things from me. I passed my 10th Grade in 1998 which was beginning of dotcom boom era. Everything was getting published on to the websites which meant that we can have quick access to the information. A friend of mine and me were very excited and eager to know the results moment we heard in the news that CBSE results for east zone have been declared. He asked me that his elder brother in New Delhi and he’ll go to the CBSE main Office and can tell us the marks from there itself, so we don’t have to wait for 5 days for the results because our school being in a remote area the only way to get result was through post.

My friend Amit’s brother was doing his MBA in Delhi and he was supposed to enquire about our results and let us know. The d day came and we called up Amit’s brother and gave him our roll numbers, in total he had three roll numbers one was mine, other was amit’s and third was of Sarvesh. Since at my place only we had a STD phone and a direct line which could be called from outside. It was an anxious wait for all three of us, I was not able to gulp any food which my mom served due to nervousness, the only thing bothering was Mathematics as mentioned in my previous post there was lot of drama involved on the exam day and even I did remember the open challenge thrown by my mathematics teacher to the teacher of the school where my center was.

The day was important because it was My Mom dad’s 25th anniversary. The family was in celebration mood and they wanted to see my results which they felt would definitely add to the celebration. My mom that day told me “Son, I know you have given your best shot here and whatever happens over the results the world should know that you are a winner in your own stride”. It was around 8:30 PM we came back home and some of our relatives joined us to have a chit chat and continue the happy mood. By that time Amit came to my place and he told me that his brother is going to give a call at around 9:00 PM; me and Amit sat out in the garden and started chatting. The phone rang and mom shouted “Sonu, I think it’s call from Delhi”. I ran to the phone and said “Yes bhaiya, did you get the results”. He said “Yes, I got for you, amit and sarvesh”. He started dictating numbers and I started jotting them down. I was nervous but after hearing the marks the nervous ness was fading way, but one persons marks was making me nervous and I thought it would be of either sarvesh’s or amit’s marks. Amit’s brother was telling us the marks only after which he said he’ll tell us which row belonged to whom. After the number jotting was over, the last part of the conversation was most important and Amit’s brother said “First two belonged to you and Sarvesh and the third one is of Dibyendu”.

Bang!!! This was the least expected thing, of the three I had scored the least. I went into the totaling mode of my marks and not hearing amit and sarversh that even they wanted to see their scores, but I was blank till the time I totaled marks on the third row and after that it was a shocker for me the total was 377/500 which was shocking for me. I sat there not knowing how to react and staring the ground. The other two guys got into calculation mode and Amit said “Mine total is 397/500”, sarvesh said “mine is 401/500”. This even more dismayed me. By that time my sister mom and dad came back and were surprised to find me sitting on the ground. The other two guys touched my parents feet and left and I got up to see them off. While leaving sarvesh ran home to share the good news with his parents, Amit turned back and told me “Dude I didn’t like the marks scored by Sarvesh, I wish his marks was yours I don’t want him to score 80% I want you to score that because you deserved it more than any one else”.

I came back and everybody was looking at me and the atmosphere was pretty normal. Mom came to me and said congrats son you kept your promise by scoring more than 90 in mathematics, but I was already in no mood for cheer and a tear rolled down my cheeks. I said “This has become pretty usual but still I would like to say Sorry to all of you for letting all of you down”. My sister my greatest supporter of all times came to me and gave me a tight hug and said “We know that you are best and others opinion matter least to me, let’s get on with the 11th Chemistry book and leave no stones unturned this time and let all of them know who the real boss is”, but this motivation was not helping as I was feeling really bad and feeling as if I had lost a long running court case inspite of having all the necessary proof to win the case.

The next day was normal every body in school cam to know about our marks and it was a matter of two days after which school received the marks list of all the students. Singh sir came into the class and declare “Ajay congrats for scoring cent percent marks in science”, Ajay whom the class usually called as bulbul just because ajay’s mom called him bulbul. Ajay was one of good buddies in the class and I along with Uma shared all the matters and gossips in the class with each other.

Then the unthinkable happened singh sir declared “congrats dibyendu for scoring highest marks in Mathematics”. I was surprised because in the score which was told to us by Amit’s brother Sarvesh fared better than me in Mathematics exam by scoring 94/100 where as mine was 91/100. I asked “Sir, please recheck as I know Sarvesh has scored 94 in Mathematics”. Singh Sir looked at the sheer again and carefully went through all the rows and then said “No dibyendu I think Sarvesh scored 91/100 in mathematics and you scored 94”, the moment it was clear Amit got up and said “Bro!! that day when I said to you that wish his marks should have been yours then I think Maa Saraswati was there on the tip of my tongue”. This made it clear that I was the one who scored more than 80% marks and was the topper of mathematics in the school. I was ecstatic. I ran home from school and told my mom, even Amit accompanied in that run of joy. I said “Mummy Sarvesh’s score swapped with mine it means I have scored more than 80%”. Mom was happy asked me to lite an incense stick in front of God’s idol. That day I thanked god and realized that one should work hard and leave the rest to him.

This experience goes hand in hand with a shloka from GITA:

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।

मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोस्त्वऽकर्मणि॥

You have the right to action only and not to fruits thereof. Do not try to be instrumental in making your actions bear fruit (which will follow according to laws of nature). Neither let your attachment be to inaction.

Regards
Dibyendu

The Impressions of dy/dx

The importance of dy/dx can never be overlooked by a student of science. A student who opts for Science stream after appearing the 10th Grade exams gets into a new world of Subjects where Scoring in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) can help you get a position at the top. For me it was dream come true, I thought this is what I was looking for and I am gonna give all others a tough time. I still remember the first class of 11th Science. We were excited to be a part of the brigade to which all other students looked up to. The class was good with individual chairs and flappable writing pads over it. We had some new class mates coming in from Hindi Medium of our school. A guy with specs came and sat on the chair next to me; he was very quiet and did nothing to get noticed but, he was not feeling comfortable for sure. I thought let me ask him and I said “Hi, I am Dibyendu are you from the Hindi medium”. He said “Yes I am but it’s difficult for me to understand, all the new terms in English”. I told him “No worries I’ll simultaneously what’s being said in plain Hindi is that fine with you”, he said “Yes”. Then he said “Thanks and I am Umakant”.

From that day onwards I and Umakant became the best buddies. We gelled well because he was silent and I was talkative and I like people who listen to me and give their intelligent responses. As the time passed by I realized that I was no matching to Uma’s intelligence his logical and analytical ability was very good. From him I learned that reading some topic is a different ball game than understanding the same topic. He gave me the right inputs to understand a topic and I gave him the right words to make notes in English. As both of us were tall we sat on the second last row and on the corner seats. The class was like and auditorium with chairs located at different levels.

The classes started first day was about filling forms and opting subjects, I opted out of Biology as I was not interested in this subject instead of that I opted for Hindi. 2nd day the teachers came in distributed the syllabus and the courseware which school used to provide us. The first formal class was of physics and entered our physics teacher Mr. Ashok Kumar singh. He was having a reputation of one of the most sincere teachers in the school. He came to the class and said “Boys and Girls before starting with the today’s class I would like to discuss with you about the differentials and the Integrals which will be a part of the Physics subjects right from the basic onwards”, then he took the chalk and wrote” dy/dx  is differentiation”. I was like “what’s this”. Then the whole session it made me feel as if he’s writing something in Greek.

He actually wrote all the basic formulas to be used for Integration and differentiation and what I understood was a big nothing. The feeling of not able to understand anything got on to me and I started sweating in the class, Uma looked at me and asked “Are you OK?”, I said “Yes, I am fine but I am not getting anything which he is writing on the board”. Uma said “Don’t worry bro even I am also not getting anything, we’ll find a way”. I replied to Uma “Look at those guys Sarvesh and Rupesh, they are cracking sums as if they knew these topics from ages”. As a matter of fact the answers for all the tough equations were always given to the teacher from our end of the class, but this time it was coming from the other end which made me feel not so good.

The class got over by that time I was under the influence of dy/dx. I was waiting to go home and put all my efforts to conquer my fear over dy/dx. I reached home and by that time the feeling got onto me so much that I broke down and told my mom “Mom I don’t think that I am fit for science stream”, my mom in utter surprise “Why son why do you think so?” . I said “In today’s class Singh Sir taught about differentiation and integration and I couldn’t get a hang of what he said and he has given us a set of question to work and get back to him with solutions by tomorrow”.

I had my food and was about to get into studying table because of the guilt I could not go out for my usual TT routine. The phone rang and mom called me “Sonu, call from Umakant for you”. I went to the call uma was calling from a local paid booth, I said “wait Uma give me the number and I’ll call you back”, before calling him back I came back with my Physics notebook and sat on the floor, I had confidence that uma would also be having his notebook with him. I called back and Uma asked “Bro!! did you get a chance to solve the sums, I have the notebook with me”, Bang!! As expected from Uma, I said “yes let’s do it together “. We spoke to each other for around 45 minutes and by that time we were done with 20 sums which were 10 more than asked by Singh Sir. At the end of the conversation uma told me “Let’s surprise Singh sir tomorrow, let him realize that bosses of integral and differential are from the same side of the class which was as silent as a desert today, Work hard and practice as many sums as you can”.

Next day when I reached school and uma came we could see that both of our eyes were red and I asked him “till what time man”, he responded “Till 3 AM, even you I could guess would be up till 2 AM at least”, “Yes” I replied. We gave each other a high five and moved into the class, to our surprise Singh Sir got a bad throat so he came to the class and asked if anybody could take over the class and solve some advance problems. To my surprise first time in the class Uma raised his hands and said “Sir I can but I need Dibyendu to explain the sums, as I may not be able to do this neatly in English”. It was a surprise and a bit of shock for other class mates as Uma had an impression of a guy who’s struggling with his choice of stream as he came from Hindi Medium School. We both took the class and the I wanted to tell to Uma “Welcome back bro!!”. Singh sir thanked us for the help and asked the class to clap for us. There were claps of appreciation from some of my friends and some claps of agony from my competitors.

I and uma started respecting each other and we share a mutual understanding till date which is around 10 yrs from that physics class.

The Board of Exams:

The exams are furious and an integral part of child’s growth as a person and it makes them tougher day by day. For me seeing people elderly to me appearing for Board Exams (Usually 10th and 12th are referred as board exams) was an experience in itself. I could remember the tense faces of parents sitting outside the school and waiting for their springs to come out of the exam hall. If anybody comes out with a smile it was a celebration and for some it was not a good day for them it was crying and mourning. The pressure used to be intense and every appearing candidate was terrified to extent that people with low level of handling of nervousness used to break down in the bus, if not bus then while entering the exam or while writing the exam itself. I was lucky in these aspects my dad never put me under any kind of pressure and mom being a professional teacher always helped.

I always felt that being practical before the exam helps in terms of keeping your parents expectations at bare minimum level, this was the case with me in subjects like Social Studies, English and Hindi. When it came to Mathematics and Science there was no excuse, if I trust my memory I told myself that if I have some self respect then to gain this self respect I would never compromise for less than 90 marks in Math and Science. After this it was a smooth ride in 9th grade. When all of reached 10th grade then there was a speculation that who’s going to top and become a topper in the board examinations with his names flashing all over the notice boards in school and offices.

The 10th grade started with people joining tuitions with various teachers and extra classes. But, I was always chilled because people went for tuitions of mathematics and science and for me I had my dad helping me with mathematics and sister helping me with science. Mom had a clear cut perception of how to beat cutting edge competitions, solve as many mock papers as you can and of u are able to finish 3 hour mock test in 2 hrs then you are good enough to have an hour of spare time in the exam hall and attempt tough questions. This rule for me was only applicable for Math and Science. To make the mocks exciting my mom used to ask me to write from 3 PM after noon and if I finish the same in 3 hrs then play time would be 6-7 PM, else the quicker you are at completing the mock test you gain more time to play. So for me it was really a lucrative offer to touch that level of comfort. I started solving a 3 hrs paper in 1.5 hrs and hence used to get 2.5 hrs of play time which was great and I used to freak out with my friends.

I never stretched myself and continued at the consistent phase. Then came the Month of March which was really bone chilling. Papers started and I saw my competitors staring at the Green Board before entering the exam hall every one shared the mutual feeling of having their name on the board, even I wanted my name on the Green board but I knew I need to get good marks in English and Hindi to get my name on the board.

Mathematics Paper Day:
This was one of the memorable day of my School Life. Since the center for examination was not in our school we had to travel to a different school and take the exam. We reached the center and I was busy with Last minute revision. We entered the Hall and the mathematics paper was distributed among us. All I wanted to do was to score just 100 in this paper, why because my dad also scored cent percent marks when he passed his 10th grade. Only competition which I was facing that day was from my dad and I wanted to beat him at any cost. I started writing the paper and everything was fine till the time I came across a question which had a printing mistake and I reported the same to the invigilator but since it was a board exam nothing helped. I answered all the questions but the last one which was from Tax and computation and I got a negative answer for the question, I had my doubts on that one and I solved it. So, moment the final bell rang I had my instincts that I could not score cent percent marks and I was stunned. Before coming to this center I would have scored cent percent in at least 20 mocks over last one month. The whole class moved out of the hall and I was alone finding it hard to believe that I could not do it.

My mathematics teacher Mr Pramod Kumar Sahoo was counting on me big time and he had high hopes on me he came to the room looking for me. I was sitting on the desk with my heads down, he came and asked me “Hey Dibyendu, what did you do for the question which was wrong”, I said “Sir, I remembered how the question was in the book and I wrote that the question should be like in the book and I wrote the answer”. By that time I could not control my feelings and I broke down telling him “I am sorry sir I lost it and I won’t be able to score 100 here”. He gave me a gentle hug and told “It makes no difference, for me you are among the best students with whom I have come across”.

By that time a Teacher from the School where we were writing exams came and asked “Why is this guy crying, Is he going to fail?” This made Sahoo Sir Wild and he said “Look at this guy does he look like a student who’s going to fail, he’s down because he’s not going to score 100/100 in mathematics, yet I can bet that this guy is going to score better marks than any other student from your school in Mathematics”. Bang!! This was a challenge thrown from my teacher to an unknown teacher on me. Only when I came out and met with my other classmates I came to know that paper was really tough as per the standards. When I reached back home mom asked me “How much is the score?” and I said “Anything from 90 to 95”. She left with a smile came back with bowl of gajar ka halwa seeing which I said “Wow, I love Gajar ka halwa”. I can bet on my mom’s gajar ka halwa to an extent that if Osama would have had it before planning 9/11, he would definitely change his plan because of the greatness in the taste of it.(sorry for loosing track again but can’t help about me feelings when I hog the bowl of gajar ka halwa, ,my mouth is watering now also while writing this ).

After having lunch and halwa I switched on the TV to see the Dexter Lab on cartoon network, which till date continues to be one of my favorite programs. The news showed incidents of students in delhi trying to commit suicides after the Mathematics paper was over. My dad was on a tour to North block New Delhi. He was also worried there, but not to show his concern to me he asked one of his subordinates to give a visit at home and check out how I fared in the exams. My dad’s colleague came and with a pleasant smile he asked me “Son I heard in the news that paper was very tough, Can you show me”, I said “Sure Uncle I’ll go and get paper”. We ran thru all the questions, by the time we ended the discussion he said “Great job son I think what you expect is the right marks”. Then he gave my mom a gentle smile and it was understood that I did well. Then he went out to STD booth and updated my dad with the status of how I fared in the exam.

My mom always taught me to be practical and all she told you won’t get anything more than what you have written in the Answer sheet. She always expected that my calculations about how much I am going to score should be realistic within a margin of 10 marks. So I was blunt rather than celebrating after the paper I used to sit with a pencil and write how much I am gonna get for each question. So I used to tell her how much I am going to score beforehand itself. I think this thinking should hold good for whatever we do. This will help a person to realize the right amount of outcome and not to expect a miracle unless the hard work equates the same.

The Gayatri Mantra and the Brahmin

When you are a kid then you are used to taking exams very seriously because if you don’t take them seriously then you loose face in the neighborhood. Wherever you go you find people staring at you as if each one of them has a Xerox copy of your report card. This feeling is even more gripping when your competitors are your dad’s colleague’s children. I still remember the bone chilling experience when my mom or my dad used to come back from office and we used to get marks for papers like Social Studies or Hindi, the two were the subjects which I was not interested in. I was thankful when I got an option after my 8th grade to leave Sanskrit as one of the subjects.

I would like to tell you a small incident which made me hate Sanskrit even more, it was when I was in 8th grade the final year after which I thought I’ll get rid of this subject all my life (Although I am least entitled to say such things about Sanskrit because I am a Brahmin, I know I can see your eye brows getting curled in surprise that how can a Brahmin guy get rid of Sanskrit). As a matter of fact the only Brahmin instinct left inside me at that point in time was that I was a vegetarian with eggs as an exception. Coming back to the Story, sorry for loosing the track of the story (See!! Again I am doing the same, cut the crap and get back to the story or else!!).

It was again a usual day of school for any 8th grade student. The next class was of our Hindi cum Sanskrit teacher Mr. Amrish Kumar Singh, all I could say about him is that one day some parents went to the Principal that sir his Hindi is too tough to be understood by the children of 10th grade. So he went back to the class and asked the students in the class “Kyo ji balko aur balao, Kya tumhe meri hindi itni klaisthe lagti hai”(English translation: Children do you find my Hindi a bit complicated), there was a murmur in the class and a girl raised her hand “Sir I have a doubt”. Ambrish Sir said “Bolo Balike”, the girls said “Sir Can you tell me what’s the meaning of klaisthe”. Bang!! It was then Mr. Ambarish realized that his hindi was indeed difficult for students like us. He entered the class on that day and pretty usually I put the Math notebook in the desk so that I can solve some sums during his class.

The class continued it was usual till the time a guy cited the copy of Akhand Jyoti Magazine on the teachers table and asked “sir what’s this?”, seeing the interest of the other people in the class Mr. Ambarish flaunted the magazine in the class so that everyone could get a view of it. Then he said “Children this is a monthly subscribed magazine of Gayatri Samaj”, the moment I heard the gayatri samaj and the name of the magazine I stood up and said “Sir this is the same magazine for which my Grandpa has gone for a lifetime subscription”, Ambarish Sir said “Yes that’s true, your grandpa only suggested me to read it regularly, Have you got any chance to read it anytime”, I said “No Sir”.

He said “That’s fine, come here and recite gayatri mantra in front of the class and explain to them what’s the meaning of gayatri mantra”. This was the moment I had always been running away from, I told “Sir I don’t know Gayatri Mantra”. He came to me bent to an angle of 90 degrees so that my face is at a comfortable height for him to Slap me. Then there were 6 sounds of claps which was nothing but the sound produced as a result of impact between my face and Ambrish Sir’s hand. I bet when somebody slaps 6 times in succession at the same place you don’t feel the pain but you feel a kind of itchiness. Before I could realize his fingers were impressed on one side of my face. His next line was “You idiot you being a Brahmin and a grandson of a person who reads the complete Ramcharitmanas through 1 day is not knowing gayatri Mantra”, I felt as if I should hit this guy back but I was shivering with pain and anguish. All I could do is that I picked up my bag took out the note book in which I was taking sums and ran out of the class then from the school. The bus used to wait for us at about 500 meters I ran to the bus as if I it was Oasis in mid of desert. This was the day after which I never spoke to the teacher except for exchanging the answers in the class.

That day when I returned back to home I told my mom the whole story she was amazed at the fact that how come I still didn’t know Gayatri Mantra. Only person who supported me and which took me by Surprise was my Grandfather lending me support when this was topic of discussion on dinner table. I started respected him even more from that day onwards, next day morning he told me that it was not my but his mistake that he didn’t teach me about it and he made me recite Gayatri Mantra and told me the meaning of it.

With All due respect I will end this post by Posting Gayatri Mantra along with its Meaning:

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhalLYT_IFpxqu_ERypD7w0ErPjE6sFEjgGIbKbEN8z-lzGact055p6sVm0EPbB8QRifbFItV2kB0QRQjBL_C75kA8SABNVjRBfz9ELvws_R1q7WK5X-g3QaIwDZPNxJSRoxbWp6g/s320/427px-Gayatri1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221327148794695138" />

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः ।
तत् सवितुर्वरेण्यं ।
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि ।
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥

Translation:
"O God, Thou art the giver of life, the remover of pain and sorrow, the bestower of happiness; O Creator of the Universe, may we receive Thy supreme, sin destroying light; may Thou guide our intellect in the right direction."

Thanks
Dibyendu

Enrichment Process of my School Life

So now my previous post told people where I am from and the backdrop of the place where I spent my childhood days. The place was amazing no doubts about that, but since every coin has two sides the other side of the coin was that I formally landed into a colony life. Well to be precise a Colony in this blog would refer to a Place where people working under the same company stay. This would be a residential area. The unique thing about a colony is that “Everybody knows everything about everybody”, When I say the previous statement it holds good for everyone. People are more interested in other person’s life and this is also discussed over dinner and lunch. There are gossips all around and every move made by the child is monitored by everyone. To have a reputation built up in such a trying condition is indeed tough.

Then there’s a competition with the friends around you. For me it was that if I secure 1st Rank in my class then my dad would buy me whatever I asked for after the results. The competition was very stiff, I still remember my mom scolding me for not getting the first rank. The rank was important not the marks. I remember one instance of my 5th grade, I was facing a stiff competition with my friend and during the final exam result day both of us secured the same marks and we shared the 1st rank mutually. All my gadgets which I own today where bought as a result of number of 1 mentioned over my report card.

For me coming 1st was not a onetime effort where in I could slog and secure the 1st rank, it was like a habit that I always needed to develop which lost its way after I reached 8th grade as soon as I realized that with the amount of time I needed to put into the studies to cover all the subjects started increasing. So I didn’t stretch instead I limited my scope to some subjects which I found interesting. After that the only aim was to maintain 90 plus marks in Mathematics and Science and chill.
Till I achieved my aim of keeping my Mathematics and Science up to my expectations I was happy and since the school was inside colony there was not major competition. I was like the frog inside the small well and feeling that world starts and ends here.
There was a system of inter school academic meet for the student s who were among the toppers fortunately I was counted among them and I was a part of this meet. This meet was an eye opener for me and made me realize that I was not as great as I always thought. I was dethroned from the position that I was good. The program was around 6 day residential program. Fortunately or rather unfortunately it was happening at our school during the year, I used unfortunately because we lost a chance to travel to a different state in the absence of our parents and our first outing with school friends.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME EXPERIENCE:
Since we were not travelling to any other place and the venue of the program was our school so we used to directly go to the Program from our homes. The first day was introduction of the Faculty members who were big guns from the TIFR (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research). All of them respected brilliance and intelligence, first time in my life I saw a set of teachers who would respect your creativity and who told me that no question is a stupid question. I was spell bound by the way they used to teach us, everything used to have an experiment coupled with it. All the Laws and Assumptions of PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) which I used to think were viable only in Books were shown to me in practical. That time I thought this is it enough is enough; I will not be a person who gulps each line from the book and vomits the same on the Answer sheet. I met some real brilliant brains who were talking about parabola, hyperbola and probability from 9th grade onwards. This was an eye opener for me I came to know that what’s the level at which students who are present in metro cities thinking and I am a not match to their intelligence and knowledge. This Experience gave me a chance to improve on myself and explore answers for my questions beyond the NCERT text books.

The above feelings were from my inner self or the studious person inside me. But this experience gave me the chance to meet some great girls who defy the logic that beauty and brains both cannot co-exist in girls. I still remember a girl from Narora in UP. She was just amazingly beautiful and simple. Her beauty made every guys head turn around, man I wish I had the guts to go to her and introduce myself, since this was the same school where I had to continue I was not able to go to the girl and speak to her as all of the teachers knew me very well and even my parents also, so any wrong move would result in a new gossip across the colony.

As a part of the Enrichment program we were also taken to visit the my dad’s office’s geological museum in which I was least interested as it was always filled with a different varieties of rocks dug out from the depth of around 1 km. What made these visits interesting was the presence of the Girl from Narora (Let’s give her an arbitrary name Madhvi). She was so fair that one could see green veins from her hand. Her lips were so red that it always seemed to me that she had been wearing lipstick all through the day and night and even during the morning yoga sessions.

To make trip more exciting we were permitted by the Chairman to visit one of the vertical shaft mines. That was again an experience in itself as everybody would think a mines which goes deep till the 1 KM from the main sea level must be dark and scary but all our presumptions were laid to rest as we boarded the 2 storied elevators to get to the mines. We were give all the safety instructions with a torch light implanted on top of each helmet. We found the mines very soothing as the temperature was controlled and a pleasant breeze was blowing because of the huge ventilation fans one of which used to spoil my sleep as it was located some 500 meters from my house. The moment mine was extended it was white washed to give it a pleasant look. When the whole gang was exploring the mines under able guidance of the Instructor I looked thru a caveat in the wall I though let me go there and see what’s in there it was so thin that at a time only 1 person could enter. The moment I went in to see what’s in their Madhvi also followed me , then she asked “Where the hell you think you are going “ and she held my hand being scared of the consequences I moved back but we both got stuck as we tried to move out together and she was very close to me. Being from a typical Indian middle class family I didn’t realize what to do but if I would have seen a single English movie and known about kissing I bet I would have done it there. The feeling was just out of the world with one of the most beautiful girls so close to me at a depth of 1 KM from the main sea level. All I did is I asked her “I am sorry, I hope I didn’t hurt you” and she said “no I am fine, come hurry up otherwise we will get lost here”, I thought if I had a timer which could have stopped time for me I would have stopped it at that moment and be in the same state for some more time. But as our instructor shouted “hey you 2 do I need to send an invitation card for you”, thrashed all my dreams and we both ran and joined back with the gang. Next day onwards at least I was able to greet her with a smile and she used to acknowledge with another smile.

I prayed to god that “Please got let this camp continue for some more time because I don’t want to get back to the books I am good with the experiments and with Madhvi’s smile”. As the days passed the final day came and we had a party that day, she dressed in a Pink Salwar kurta looked like a princess. I had no words to say to her but she acknowledged my greetings smile.

The next day morning while she was boarding onto bus with a teacher from our school I was desperate to run to her and give her my postal address but going by the circumstances I was stranded. As the bus moved away I lost the view of her beautiful eyes and lips and as it took a turn a drop of tear rolled down my eyes. I still don’t know why it happened was that because of her beauty or her presence or her pink salwar kurta I felt my head rolling and when I looked up to the tree even that was rolling, then there was a sound “thump” and I didn’t realize what happened. When I opened my eyes I saw my PT (physical training) teacher carrying me to the PT room. He gave me a glass of water and asked my “Son, can you tell me what your name is?” I replied “Sir my name is Dibyendu”. He shouted “he is fine, get him some glucose”. Then my teacher asked me “when was the last time you had food”, it was then I realized that I have not ate anything from last 16 hours and have been running here and there due to which I fainted because of dizziness. In no time my mom came to school and brought me back home and as usual my dad told that this guy is never going to leave his mom as he does not know how to take care of himself. We drove back home in silence with me putting my head on the Lap of my mom which till date I find as the most stress free zone in this world. But, still I was staring out of the window wishing that we may overtake Madhvi’s bus. Then I came to know I had slept for 6 hours and the date in the calendar has changed and Madhvi is gone to her mom.

Minutes of Meeting with my Childhood...

Details of Turamdih:
As they say “AAGAR FIRDAUS BAR RUYE ZAMINAST YO HAMINAST,YO HAMINAST, YO HAMINAST”, I think this quote in my life is not valid for Jammu and Kashmir, of all the places I have seen the place where I spent my child hood is a region with the largest mineral resources which people know as Chotanagpur Plateau. My dads being a Civil Engineer had to go places which were actually no man’s land and transform them into a great residential colony with all the amenities. Why my experience stands aloof from others is because I saw the colony rising from big Hills begin transformed into plain grounds and then a beautiful place to live for the Employees.

As a kid we had a gang most of us are now in a corporate mess getting things out of our clients. A place which remains closest to my heart is Turamdih. At a distance of 7 km from Tata Nagar Railway station.

When we landed there in 1990 and I was surprised to see a stretch of hills and was fantasized about exploring them. Since it was a new project we had to travel 20 km to our school by getting up at 5:30 in the morning and travelling a stretch of 25kms of kuchha roads for one and a half hours to reach the school which used to start at 7:00 am.
I never did any sort of physical training , but my built and my physique I owe a lot to those bumpy roads. By the time School finished and the Jeep used to come back to colony most of the parents had carry their children home because all of us used to sleep in the jeep. It used to be a feast if we used to get ambulance for dropping us to school because it had a bed inside and I loved sleeping over it while returning back from School.

Enough description about the place, but this gives you an idea of where I am coming from (this is not on the same lines which my manager says that “Dibyendu I hope you get where I am coming from”).

Having a gang is one of the most enjoyable things during the school days, as everyone even I had a gang. A gang which comprised of let me count…. one, two, three and four girls. Out of which 2 are married and 1 is getting married next week. We were the bunch of people who never needed a toy to enjoy we always needed a ball and a set of 7 flat stones and start playing the games called as “Pitto”.

I don’t expect all of you to know about this game, but in corporate terms I can always say that this game is the best for a Team to build a team spirit. I never realized that it was only then I’ll be surrounded with girls and as the life moved on the number of girls I have known have been reducing. Well in technical terms “Interaction with girls is inversely proportional to my age”. In other words I can even say that I have friends who are girls but I have no girlfriends. Now how’s that.
Nothing to beat the Team which I had then people would bleed to keep the game up and running. I myself landed up with 5 stitches to equalize with the other team. These are the small tit bits of moral science if we follow in the corporate world I think we can make workplace as a better playground where whole of the Team puts in lot of effort to move ahead and share mutual respect among them. The playing time used to be defined between 5-7 PM and the moment the clock used to Tick 7 every one was back at home completing the assignments and home works. The point is that of we follow the funda of KISS (not the one which girls give) which is “Keep it simple and stupid” which made my child hood a memorable one, wish it happens during the current phase and makes my life a memorable one too.

Thanks
Dibyendu

NB: Have not received any comments about my previous post but request the limited number of users to give there feedback and correct me if i am not heading in the right direction.

Welcome Folks

Hi Neeraj/Prateek/Sushant
Welcome to the Blog, the intentions to invite you is to get a review about my posts and the contents.

Thanks
Dibyendu

My First Post

Hi Archu, Manjit and Tinku
After lot of thinking and a golden oppurtunity of getting manjit's lappy free for 1 night i revived my old blog which was kind of dead the moment it was opened cos i opened it with a lot of Excitement after reading the Book How to make money by blogging, Another of my failed attempts to be successful without hardwork. Well friends i leave it upto you to write the prelude of the book cos wat i can tell you about is current status of my mind and my current frustrations which lead me to write this Book/blog or watever. As people say and i read it somewhere that i m facing my mid life crisis but........I m just 26 years old.......how the heck i cud be facing the mid life crisis......Well...some times i do get a feeling that no body in this world needs me except my boss cos he has lot of issues for me in terms of bugs and change requests in the software which we develop (as they say change is inevitable same applies to a software).....I do get the feeling that I am a run machine ....with people back home relating even the smallest of the things withyour marraige which is the next big thing to happen in the Family.

So I can say that I am single, with a Job in one of the major financial services company as a developer. I belong to the Gennxt of the Indian economy cos i pay more tax a year than my age......Sometimes i wonder was this the destination where of which I always dreamt about....going to a office which has a dispenser which can give you all types of aerated drinks ....Is this the way I m gonna make it big one day.....But Wat do I do to make it big ....solve 8 issues per day for my client in the office or follow my heart. Everything comes with a price so I have to work and follow my heart by running my fingers on the keyboard. The second option is also comes with a price of spending right amount of time with me.

So folks welcome to my world of fortunes and misfortunes of being me.
<br allows the lender to demand payment of the outstanding loan balance for various reasons. The most common reasons for accelerating a loan are if the borrower defaults on the loan or transfers title to another individual without informing the lender.

Adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM)

A mortgage in which the interest changes periodically, according to corresponding fluctuations in an index. All ARMs are tied to indexes.

Adjustment date

The date the interest rate changes on an adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM).

Amortization
The loan payment consists of a portion, which will be applied to pay the accruing interest on a loan, with the remainder being applied to the principal. Over time, the interest portion decreases as the loan balance decreases, and the amount applied to principal increases so that the loan is paid off (amortized) in the specified time.

Amortization schedule

A table which shows how much of each payment will be applied toward principal and how much toward interest over the life of the loan. It also shows the gradual decrease of the loan balance until it reaches zero.

Annual percentage rate (APR)

This is not the note rate on your loan. It is a value created according to a government formula intended to reflect the true annual cost of borrowing, expressed as a percentage. It works sort of like this, but not exactly, so only use this as a guideline: deduct the closing costs from your loan amount, then using your actual loan payment, calculate what the interest rate would be on this amount instead of your actual loan amount. You will come up with a number close to the APR. Because you are using the same payment on a smaller amount, the APR is always higher than the actual net rate on your loan.
