It is no secret that Vanessa Minnillo wants to become an actress. She was very verbal about the fact that she wanted to make the transition into acting. She got her first chance when she appeared in Fantastic Fourflick, 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and she loved it!. Now she was working at ET and MTV.

"When I was on the set of Fantastic Four, I loved it. I respected everyone's work ethic. It was like a mini-family, and I want to continue doing it, whether it's action or comedy or action-comedy. I can pull off physical comedy; I'm athletic enough not to get hurt easily," Minnillo tells Vegas Magazine.

"I got to do MTV for four years, ET for two years, then left to put my heart into other things for a while. I just love new experiences. I was an air-force brat that attended eight different schools in my first nine years of school, so I feel I can adjust to anything," she adds. "Acting is a different way to entertain people. Most people know how to be themselves in front of the camera, but interpreting a character takes a lot. Once I get the right role, I'll just feel it."

Minnillo is not taking any opportunity she gets though. She says that she's gotten offered some silly roles and she's passed cause she feels it's not right for her. "We've had some offers that we turned down because it wasn't me," she exclaims. "For one of them, I had to be this bikini terrorist and in another I was some crazy girl at Mardi Gras doing anything for beads!"

"Acting is something new for me, and you have to master this craft. It's not just something you jump into. That's why I took time off to be with my family--reap the fruits of my own labor," she explains. "I've worked two jobs all these years straight and I never got to stop and enjoy it."

Maria wins first match at Qatar Open

Maria Sharapova maintained her perfect start to the season at the Qatar Open on Wednesday.

After winning the Australian Open last month, the fourth-seeded Sharapova defeated fellow Russian Galina Voskoboeva, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, in the second round of the $2.5 million event.

Including her title at Melbourne and two Fed Cup wins in Russia's first-round tie with Israel earlier this month, Sharapova has now won all her 10 matches this season.

Runner-up to Sharapova at the Aussie open, top-seeded Ana Ivanovic also returned to action on Wednesday with a routine 6-3, 6-1 win over Olga Govortsova in one of 14 second-round matches. Her third round foe will be No. 16 Agnieszka Radwanska, who saw off Tathiana Garbin, 6-3, 6-3.

Second seed Svetlana Kuznetsova opened with a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Nathalie Dechy of France.

The Russian, who was beaten in the final of this tournament last year by Justine Henin, will face No. 15 Sybille Bammer in the next round, after Bammer's 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 win over Monica Niculescu.

Wednesday saw the first major upset of the tournament as No. 5 Anna Chakvetadze was sent home by Na Li, who battled to a 7-6 (9-7), 6-4 victory.

It also was tough day for ninth-seeded Patty Schnyder, who went down, 6-3, 6-4, to Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia.

Others advancing were 11th-seeded Dinara Safina, No. 12 Shahar Peer, Anabel Medina Garrigues and Ai Sugiyama.

Pop Singer Britney Spears is now teaching children's dance classes in LA.

She has been giving the lessons voluntarily at the Millennium Dance Complex, according to America's OK! magazine.

Spears reportedly showed a group of kids, aged from four to nine, a range of dance maneuvers such as 'the fish', 'the swim' and 'the choo-choo train'.

Maya Meek, a parent of one of the children, said: "My son didn't really know who Britney was, though he dances to all of her music.

"So when I told him, 'This is the lady who makes all the songs you like', he got very excited!"

The information is gather, "When Britney first arrived she went up to each child and asked them their name and whether they liked Madonna, because that was the song they would be dancing to this evening."

The state-run Xinhua news agency carried an 850-word article focusing on the the bitter reviews on Internet blogs and in newspapers for her seemingly out-of-time performance.

"Zhang came in for public criticism because she was an amateur singer who was not well-prepared and even forgot words," Xinhua said, citing an article in the Modern Express newspaper in eastern China's Jiangsu province.

"The article attributed her poor performance to 'a lack of experience'."

A copy of her gala appearance on Chinese Internet video-sharing website Tudou.com indeed appeared to indicate she was lip synching.

However the general director of the gala event, Chen Linchun, remained firm that Zhang's performance was genuine, according to Xinhua.

"(Her singing) was not broadcast from video," Xinhua quoted Chen as saying.

Maria Sharapova is in the Middle East now. She is working on her own peace process hoping it will pave the way to Olympic gold in Beijing in August.

The Russian golden girl, the world's richest sportswoman, is spearheading her country's defence of its Fed Cup title which gets its first examination against Israel this weekend.

There is plenty at stake.

Sharapova, fresh from her first Australian Open title and third career Grand Slam crown, has never represented her country before but needs to demonstrate her commitment to the Fed Cup if she is to play in the Olympics.

Furthermore, her collection of blue chip sponsors desperately need to see their investment reap maximum rewards when the world's biggest sports event dominates for three weeks in China in August.

Sharapova knows too she needs to repair relationships with her teammates, many of whom have criticised her in the past for pulling out of the squad after being selected.

The 20-year-old insists that despite her accent, upbringing and lifestyle, which is more St Petersburg, Florida than St Petersburg, Russia, there are no personal issues in the Russian camp.

"The majority of us have a wonderful relationship. We do," said Sharapova who irked Svetlana Kuznetsova and Anna Chakvetadze when she was invited to cheer the team on from the sidelines in the 2007 Fed Cup final win over Italy in Moscow.

"I don't know what you saw, but we all went to team dinners. I have really good relationships. I couldn't play in the final but the captain asked me to come and support them, and that's the least I could do," said Sharapova.

Russia captain Shamil Tarpishchev has played the part of mediator between Sharapova and Kuznetsova, who is absent this weekend, and Chakvetadze, who will be playing.

"There is not a single personal conflict inside the team," he insists.

In the absence of Kuznetsova, Elena Dementieva and Nadia Petrova, who have also struggled to see eye-to-eye with their illustrious compatriot, Sharapova will be joined in Israel by Chakvetade, Elena Vesnina and Dinara Safina.

"I have my fingers crossed this will be the first time after a Grand Slam that I don't get sick or injured," said Sharapova after her Australian Open victory last weekend.

"I'm very excited to be playing in the Fed Cup. Tennis is such an individual sport and this is a great opportunity to be part of a team.

"I'm happy I was asked to play for my country. This was one of my priorities at the beginning of the year."

Sharapova, famously taken by father Yuri to Florida when she was seven with just 700 dollars to their name, has always insisted she is proud of her Russian heritage.

"If I didn't have the career, I'd probably be back home in Russia in college right now, like one of my friends that I grew up with back there," she said.

Tarpishchev, meanwhile, said he was pleased with what he saw of Sharapova in Australia and was expecting another impressive performance in Israel.

"Maria looked in command throughout the tournament due to her strong mentality," he said.

"I hope she will manage to keep her good form for the matches in Israel."

Britney Spears Hospitalized Again for Evaluation

Britney Spears was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center for a psychiatric hold early Thursday morning, after being transported by ambulance from her Studio City home around 1 a.m.

An LAPD source tells PEOPLE: "Spears was escorted by police and is on her way to get help."

The singer, 26, was transported to UCLA for treatment and evaluation during a 72-hour emergency hold, known as a 5150.

Police or a mental health professional can request one if a person is deemed to be a danger to him and herself or others. (Spears was held at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on such an order earlier this month, following her Jan. 3 custody standoff with police.)

Spears's mother, Lynne – who's in the midst of a tense reunion with her daughter – friend Alli Sims and confidant Sam Lutfi were all inside the gated mansion when police and the fire department arrived.

What brought on the hospitalization? "She was driving around her neighborhood like a mad-woman," says a Spears family source. "Britney has been prescribed medication which she refuses to take. This is just another sad, sad evening."

Lutfi and Spears's father, Jamie, arrived at the hospital shortly after the singer. Her mother was later spotted leaving the Summit home with Spears's photographer beau, Adnan Ghalib, in the backseat.

Earlier in the night, Internet rumors claimed that the singer had attempted suicide, but Lutfi and Sims both denied those claims to PEOPLE.

Since the January standoff, Spears has been stripped of visitation rights for her two sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1. Two sources have said she suffers from a psychological disease, with one source saying, "there is no question she is bipolar... she's had manic episodes for years."

As last night's incident unfolded, a Spears source told PEOPLE simply, "Pray, please."

Sam Luftiwho is the manager and companion of Britney Spears, has said the singer suffers from "mental issues" and has seen a psychiatrist, talk show host Barbara Walters revealed on Monday.

On her ABC television show "The View," veteran broadcast journalist Walters said she spoke with Lufti by phone after he reached out to her.

"He said that Britney is suffering from what he describes as mental issues which are treatable," Walters said on "The View." "He said that she has been to a psychiatrist and that she, I assume, is starting some kind of treatment."

Walters said Lufti has been staying with the singer "constantly" and added that Spears has been having "mood swings, she's been having trouble sleeping."

Walters said she did not know whether Lufti was indeed telling the truth.

Britney Spears, 26, has seen her life spin out of control in the past year since her late 2006 divorce from ex-husband Kevin Federline.

She has exhibited bizarre behavior in public, including being photographed not wearing underwear, and she and Federline have waged a bitter legal battle over custody of their sons.

Late last year, Spears lost custody and visitation rights to Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, and was ordered to undergo drug and alcohol counseling and parental coaching.

She has failed on numerous occassions to appear in Los Angeles family court for hearings dealing with her and Federline's custody issues.

Britney Spears would never harm herself or her children because she loves them more than anything else and wants them back, the troubled pop star's on-off British boyfriend said.

Birmingham-born Adnan Ghalib insisted the 26-year-old singer was not suicidal and was "no different from any other mum", during interviews with two TV entertainment shows in the US.

He said Spears was upset after a court suspended her rights to see her two young sons - one-year-old Jayden James and two-year-old Sean Preston - following a stand-off with police at her home earlier this month which led to her being admitted to hospital for observation.

Mr Ghalib, a photographer, told Entertainment Tonight: "She wants them back. She needs them back."

Asked if she would ever harm them, he said: "Never. Absolutely not."

Talking about the stand-off at her home on the night of January 3, Mr Ghalib said: "I think she was just afraid of what was going to happen. It's just that helplessness, that loss of control. It doesn't make you crazy."

Mr Ghalib told the Insider: "We are talking about someone who had one of the most dynamic careers and gave it up for her kids.

Vidya Balan is a Tamilian from Kerala. She is from the Iyer community. She comes from a middleclass family from Palghat, on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Vidya did her schooling from St Antony's School and later on joined St Xavier's College from where she graduated in sociology.

When she was doing her MA from Mumbai University, she was offered a role in a Malayalam film titled Chakram with Mohanlal, one of Vidya’s favorite actors. However, the project was shelved mid-way and Vidya had to wait for few more years to make her movie debut.

She made her debut as a model in a Surf Excel advertisement in 1998. She has acted in scores of ad films, most of which were directed by Pradeep Sarkar.

A couple of months later, she featured in three music videos (again directed by Sarkar) for ‘Euphoria’, Shubha Mudgal and Pankaj Udhas.

Vidya Balan started work as an actress in the Malayalam movie Chakram, paired against Mohanlal, however the film was abandoned mid-way through production. Vidya had to go through 40 screen tests and 17 make-up shoots before she was finally chosen for the lead role in the film.

Vidya has a very traditional Indian look in contrast to most of today's Bollywood starlets. She is associated with AmFar (Americans for AIDS Research) and Hale House, a home for children born with HIV and those affected by Drug Addiction.
