The defensive is the missing piece that came together the last few weeks. Certainly, Cruz and Nicks show how explosive the offense has become. But the defense is the most dramatic change. The offense carried up to the Dallas game. St. Fran has to worry about our defense.

Giants are in such good shape. Playing their best football which appears like the best in the league. Stopping Rogers speaks for itself. And Eli and his receivers are showing that no one can stop them. Will be fun on Sunday. Just amazing. The referees seemed to want to take the game away from the Giants with two bad calls. But they were just too good. What kind of game will it be in San Fran. Giants are physical too and their receivers seem faster than the NO receivers. Can San Fran handle Nicks, Cruz and Manningham? Don't think so. Should be fun. Another great game.

Good receivers help a quarter back while great receivers can make one look like a hall of fame quarterback, Up to this year Manning has never had a bunch of good receivers. With the sensational Cruz and the excellent Nicks, coupled with tight end Ballard and the more powerful than you think receiving full back, Eli can now show what he has. Remember he is doing this without a decent running game. The Giants runners have to step up. An important part of a championship team is the ability to move the changes and to have receivers who catch a five or ten yard pass and run it fifty or more yards. Run after the catch. With the defense reemerging, this giant team can beat anyone. Watch out for the GMen.

Having played 36 minutes and still played that well is impressive. Is Sanchez that bad or is the Giant's defense that bad. Don't talk to me about Manning's poor passing percentage. He did enough to win. That is the point.

This is an undisciplined team that cannot handle success. Dropping passes kills drives and sets up the defense. The defense is not well run with gaps all over the place. Maybe we have to acknowledge that the talent is not there on the Giant defense. The coaches have to get a better handle on this team. Eli may be so good that he sometimes make a mediocre team look better than it is. This was a sloppy game. Giants did not show up. They embarrassed themselves against a 4-9 team. They could win the next two games. That remains to be seen. Woe are the Giants!

Eli has always been great. He now has receivers who can play. Jacobs is better because opponents are daring the Giants to run. Maybe the "Prince" can help the secondary.

Interceptions are many times the fault of the receiver. If the receiver does not run the right route an interception will usually occur. Manningham did not finish his route and that caused the interception. Three huge mistakes. The blown coverage on the pass to the tight end and the blown coverage on the running backs run. Both touchdowns.Also the onside kick. Not a Giant in sight. That said the Giants are still a very good football team. They will get better and if they will maintain their discipline they can go a long way. We could use a speedy running back.

Win over Pats reminiscent of Super Bowl Win

Sure seemed like deja vu with Ballard filling in for Tyree and Burress. Ballard is certainly part of the story of this game. But the emergence of a superior core of wide receivers is the story. Manningham can beat anyone while Cruz can catch in double coverage. The absence of Nicks and Bradshaw show how strong this team can be if they can score like this without them. Not to mention the absence of the starting center.

Giants are doing better on turnovers. But the defense has to do better with the run.Osi has to stay home on end runs. No question that taking care of the ball can be the difference. The defense rests more and is stronger for the fourth quarter. Look at all the criticism being heaped on Romo for giving up defensive points to the Lions. No question Romo lost that game. So give Manning, Bradshaw and Jacobs credit. But I do love our new found receiving core. Take care of the ball and score more.

Always nice to win on the road. Long trip. Without Tuck the run defense suffers. Osi was great but still bad on the run. He has to learn balance. Eli showed what he can do when receivers catch the ball. Great to see the tight end involved. We need more of that. Fabulous play by Webster to seal the victory. Manningham needs to keep working. Cruz makes the receiving core more dangerous. That helps Nicks who shows that he really is all pro material. We do have to run better. Hard to win on the road. But we should learn from it. Two fumbles are bad but no interceptions.

Giants better and Healing

Giants are looking good with Osi and Manningham returning. The receiving core looks better while Osi will only strengthen a solid line, with improving linebackers. The secondary is holding up. Watch for Manning to have a stellar day and for the Giant backs to run for over 200 yards. How sweet it is.

Vick has gotten the most calls for roughing the passer. Other passers were roughed up worse and calls were not made. As everyone is saying Vick has to look to his offensive life. Espn's Jackson and others were shamefully racial as they tried to pin the "non calls" as biased.

Media cannot fathom how Good Eli is!1

It is no secret that Eli did not even have an adequate core of wide receivers last year. Even to this year until Cruz showed what he can do. Now you have two legitimate very good playmakers with Nicks and Cruz. If Manningham can get his act together it can be awesome. Remember Eli was without Steve Smith all last year. Now if we can get a few tight ends it would really help. We have no idea what Eli can do with a solid supporting cast. With the defense emerging as a real force the Giants can be the team to reckon with. Nice game last week. Let's put a few of those together.

Took too long to play Cruz

We knew he was good. He showed that in two exhibition seasons. He reminds me of Fitzgerald who can catch the ball in a crowd. It has been awhile since Manning had some reliable wide receivers. As long as Cruz keeps his eye on the ball he will be a great one.The team has done well despite injuries. Now that the Giants have several down the field threats the running game will open up and the offense will become more explosive. Nice emergence of an apparently very good team. Should be fun.

After two disappointing seasons the NY Giants go into a season with a new defensive coordinator and some new players. The coordinator is proven so hopefully the defense will resume their dominance which they had in the Super Bowl year.

This Giant team will get better. A hall of fame quarterback. (You heard it here first). The offensive line is peerless. The backs are very good. The receivers are top notch. And what a defense!! And depth all around. Tuck is all pro and the rest of the defensive line are pro bowlers. The offensive line makes huge holes that a truck can pass through. What a team.

Knight looks good but I was surprised to see Wilson go. He sure got a lot of money from Oakland. Wow! Sorry to see Mitchell go. Reese brought in his first reinforcement Monday when he signed former Jaguars safety Sammy Knight, an 11-year veteran to replace Gibril Wilson, who signed with the Raiders when free agency opened. Knight signed a three-year deal worth $5.15 million and got a signing bonus of $1.25 million.

That's quite a bargain compared to the six-year, $39 million contract (with $16 million) that Wilson got from the Oakland Raiders on Friday night.

Coughlin was always a good coach. The impatient media was not able to think beyond the moment and they affected fan opinion. He was good with the Jaguars and has been good with the Giants. He certainly was a welcome relief from the previous years when snapping the ball became and event and a ten yard field goal attempt made one cringe.

His money is well deserved and the Giants should be contenders for a long time to come. Especially with this young talented team and Eli is only going to get better.

Much is made out of how Eli did not have that great a year until the Patriot game and the ensuing playoffs. What many do not realize is that the receivers started catching the ball as of the Patriot game and thereafter. The Giants led the league in drops. What is a quarterback to do. The second factor is that Plaxico had never really practiced with the whole team and this was definitely a deficiency. Then Steve Smith got healthy. So now Eli has Plaxico, Smith, Toomer and Boss with Tyree in reserve. And they are starting to hold on to the ball. Of course, you can't say enough for the contribution of the emerging Bradshaw along with the solid Jacobs. So Eli and the defense was always there. The rest of the offense had to catch up.

Feagles is the best directional kicker and Tynes has shown his clutch ability. After all no one has ever kicked a field goal that far in such cold weather in Green Bay.
