I used these queries to check some settings:

Now, the above query and the storage clause of the old 'create tablespace TEMP' command seem to tell us the tablespace only allows temporary objects, so it should be safe to assume that no one created any tables or other permanent objects in TEMP by mistake, as I think Oracle would prevent that. However, just to be absolutely certain, I decided to double-check. Checking for any tables in the tablespace is very easy:

Checking for any other objects (views, indexes, triggers, pl/sql, etc.) is trickier, but this query seems to work correctly - note that you'll probably need to connect internal in order to see the sys_objects view:

Concurrent requests are failed with the below error:

ORA-20100: Error: FND_FILE failure. Unable to create file, o0040178.tmp in thedirectory, /usr/tmp.

Upon checking below settings there is no issue :

1. The $APPLTMP, $APPLPTMP variables and UTL_FILE_DIR database parameter are valid and pointing to directory where there is enough space and users have written permission.
2. FND_FILE.PUT_LINE is able to create new files in the temporary directory.

FND_FILE.PUT_LINE Checking method:

SQL> exec FND_FILE.PUT_LINE(FND_FILE.LOG, 'THIS IS A TEST');

This should dump a file on APPLPTMP. If this test works, it would indicate that FND_FILE is ok and the problem is possibly with the Application.

You may want to leave only one entry on utl_file_dir for this test.

finally I checked the utl_file_dir, but there is no entry like /usr/tmp path in that list

just I added /usr/tmp for the UTL_FILE_DIR & restarted the applications & database.

now the issue is resolved & concurrent requests are working fine

How to change Apps 11i form color change after cloning

To differentiate dev/test from prod, we can change the form color by changing some profile options.

Profile option change to be done:

1. Set the Java Look and Feel profile option value to oracle. If you set it to generic, it will take the default values and you wont be able to set your own color.
2. Then set Java Color Scheme profile option value to any of the LOVs as per your choice.

Remember to set this at site level

NOTE: It won't get effect immediately, you have to log out from
application and again you have to relogin to view color change effect

However, now the Concurrent Manager cannot be started. The following error is produced in the Internal Concurrent Manager log file :

Symptoms

Solution

Run the following select on the target node only to check trigger status :

SELECT trigger_name , status
FROM user_triggers
WHERE table_name = 'FND_NODES' ;

If status of the triggers show as DISABLED, then enable these following triggers as follows :

connect apps/

alter trigger UPNAME enable;
alter trigger FNDSM enable;

Take backup of FND_NODES table in Target :

create table FND_NODE_bk as select * from FND_NODES ;

1. Login into Oracle Application with System Administrator Responsibility.
2. Delete the rows from FND_NODES table in target using install -> node -> Define form.
3. Then re-Register TRAGET hostname.
4. This should register FNDIM_ and FNDSM_ concurrent managers in FND_CONCURRENT_QUEUE Table.

Then

Check the following Scripts it will give node name. If not give any out put please run that below sql scripts.

SQL> select concurrent_queue_name, node_name from fnd_concurrent_queues where
manager_type=6;

From the Application tier:

SQL> sqlplus apps/apps

1. Log in as applmgr
2. cd to $FND_TOP/patch/115/sql
3. Run the script: afdcm037.sql
4. This script make libraries for FNDSM and create Managers for Preexisting Nodes.

Now you check

ps -ef grep FNDSM

Read access on a file allows you to view file
Read access on a directory allows you to view directory contents with ls command
Write mode permissions

Write access on a file allows you to write to file
Write access on a directory allows you to remove or add new files
Execute mode permissions

Execute access on a file allows to run program or script
Execute access on a directory allows you access file in the directory
Octal numbers and permissions

You can use octal number to represent mode/permission:

r: 4
w: 2
x: 1
For example, for file owner you can use octal mode as follows. Read, write and execute (full) permission on a file in octal is
0+r+w+x = 0+4+2+1 = 7

Only Read and write permission on a file in octal is
0+r+w+x = 0+4+2+0 = 6

Only read and execute permission on a file in octal is
0+r+w+x = 0+4+0+1 = 5

Use above method to calculate permission for group and others. Let us say you wish to give full permission to owner, read & execute permission to group, and read only permission to others, then you need to calculate permission as follows:
User = r+w+x = 0+4+2+1 = 7
Group= r+w+x = 0+4+2+0 = 6
Others = r+w+x = 0+0+0+1 = 1

Effective permission is 761.

To setup file permission you need to use chmod command:
chmod {mode} {file-name}

To setup file permission 761 you need to use chmod command as follows:

You can change permissions for all files and directories within a directory by using the -R option on the chmod command. For example, to setup others read and execute access to all files and directories (and files and directories within directories), you need to type command as follows (i.e. change the modes of the file hierarchies rooted in the files instead of just the files themselves):

Here are the some options and you can easily resolve the issue:

Upgrade to Internet Explorer 8

Cause

IE 8 has a Security Setting called "Cross Site Scripting (XSS)"

Solution

1. Disable the XSS filter.
2. In MSIE 8 --->Tools > Internet Options >
Security Settings -->Custom Level >
Scroll down to entry "Enable XSS Filter" > Select Disable XSS Filter button.

Once Enable XSS filter is set to be disable Forms will now launch.

2.)Multiple Java Console Windows Open

With the 'Show Console' option set in the Java Control Panel, launching a forms based application through IE8 or higher may cause two separate 'Java Console' windows to open. Accessing further applets from the same Oracle E-Business Suite session may also cause further 'Java Console' windows to appear. This will not always be seen because not every tab will necessarily be started in its own process because LCIE will attempt to balance reliability with performance. Therefore the issue of multiple java console windows is most likely to be seen if running from a high specification multi-core processor desktop.

If required you can prevent the java console from appearing by running the following from your desktop client;

Control Panel -> Java (icon) -> Advanced (tab) -> Java Console -> select the 'Hide Console' (radio button)

3.)To disable an add-on;

From the browser menu, Tools -> Manage Add-ons -> Enable or Disable Add-ons
Select the appropriate add-on
Under 'Settings' click the 'disable radio' button
Restart the browser

4.)Fixing Internet Explorer Crash on Launching Oracle Forms Application with jInitiator

a) Take backup of jvm.dll located at c:Program FilesOracleJInitiator 1.3.1.21binhotspot directory.
b) Copy jvm.dll from C:Program FilesJavajre1.6.0_07binclient (or whichever highest version of jre you have) to c:Program FilesOracleJInitiator 1.3.1.21binhotspot

When exporting i encountered an issue:

ORA-25153: Temporary Tablespace is Empty

So add the temp tablespace as show below:

Once querying dba_temp_files view, there were no temp files being listed. Though the temporary file was residing in the oradata folder and the dba_tablespaces where the

tablespace was present.

The Solution:
As it was a temporary tablespace, I could add a tempfile to the same and made the procedure working:

set s_jsp_dbg_mode in $CONTEXT_FILE to true
Run Autoconfig $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME/adautocfg.sh
Stop then Start $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME/adoacorectl.sh service
Examine application.log for missing jsp files (see Known Issues)

HTML requests complete, Java requests complete, Applications Login page fails

If the Applications Login page is returned or an error message such as: "You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System Administrator for assistance" then the problem is with Oracle Applications setup rather than Oracle Application Server.

AFLOG_FILENAME=/tmp/1.log

Stop then restart $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME/adoacorectl.sh service, reproduce the issue, and examine the log file denoted by AFLOG_FILENAME

Applications Login Page is displayed, Login Fails

TROUBLESHOOTING: RESPONSIBILITY NOT VISIBLE BY USER AFTER UNENDATE

It can happen that after unendating a responsibility assignment, the user cannot see that responsibility. To solve this problem there are 2 procedures that can help:
1. Run the request ‘Sync responsibility role data into the WF table’.
2. Run the request “Synchronize WF LOCAL tables”.
3. Run the request “Workflow Directory Services User/Role Validation” (with parameters 10000, yes,
yes, yes).
4. Have the user log off and back on and verify that the responsibility appears.
If after that the problem is not solved yet, then it’s possible to use the System Administrator responsibility: Workflow -> Oracle Applications Manager -> Workflow Manager

Selecting ‘Service Components’ and starting the following listeners:
- Workflow Deferred Notification Agent Listener
- Workflow Error Agent Listener
- Workflow Java Deferred Agent Listener
- Workflow Java Error Agent Listener

The user should then be able to use the unendate responsibility.

Changing Apps Password

In 11i there were a few steps in order to change the apps password.

1. Shutdown the environment.
2. execute FNDCPASS to change the apps password.
Ex. FNDCPASS apps/[oldpassword] 0 Y system/[system password] SYSTEM APPLSYS [new apps password]
3. Manually modify files such as appsweb.cfg and wdbsvr.app
4. Startup the environment.

In R12:

1. Shutdown the environment.
2. Execute FNDCPASS as above.
3. Run Autoconfig
4. Startup the environment.

I realized the process had changed when I looked at the wdbsvr.app file and noticed the following:
