Worx GT Works For Me !!!

2010-08-09T07:08:00.000-07:00

Every now and then a product comes along that is so well designed and engineered that it deserves to be recognized.

The Worx GT is one of those products. Used as a landscaping tool to both trim and edge your yard, the Worx GT is without equal. The first noticeable attribute besides its cool design is the fact that it is battery operated, and not just any battery, but a high powered Lithium battery is used. This lithium source is claimed to give the yard tool full power until it completely stops. Now there is no need for mixing gas and using a plug in cord! You also don’t have to worry about those aggravating crank cords because the Worx GT starts with a simple push of a button.

This beautifully designed machine is lightweight too, weighing only 6 pounds. This makes the Worx GT easy to hold and operate for people of all heights and ages.

With the Worx GT when your cutting line breaks the machine automatically releases more line for a perfect cut every time. The Worx GT uses a special revolutionary line called the helix that has jagged edges instead of the traditional round lines, and therefore enables a cleaner, better looking cut.

Included with the Worx GT is a convenient wall mount that allows you to easily store and charge your power yard tool. Also available is a quick charger that will allow you to charge your lithium battery in as little as 30 minutes!

So what are you waiting for? Don’t delay.

Hurry and purchase your Worx GT today!!!

What in the World Trade Center !?!

2010-08-09T07:03:00.000-07:00

It would be impossible to have a blog on news and events without including the most important world event of the decade. Next month will mark the 9th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 tragedy. The unfortunate event on 9/11 has left many in utter shock, as well as dismissed any notions of American Invisibility that we might have once had.

The attack has touched us in ways we cannot explain by reaching deep into our national psyche.

The World Trade Center was designed in early 1960’s by Japanese Architect; Minoru Yamasaki and stood 110 stories high. The structure was easily the city’s most recognizable landmark after the Statue of Liberty. The complex was located in the heart of New York City’s downtown financial district and is now referred to as “Ground Zero”. The Twin Towers were a symbol of America’s financial might and that is specifically why the terrorist targeted them.

How could this have happened?

Why do they hate us?

Where is Osama Bin Laden?

Several years later, after thousands of funeral services, two wars, and countless copycat attacks, these questions continue to lingerie.

2010 Tour de France!

2010-08-09T06:52:00.000-07:00

" Congratulations Aleberto Contador"

The annual bicycle race held in France and nearby countries was first held in 1903. It last for 3 weeks and covers over 2,000 miles. Riders from all over the world participate in the this race which is considered the most important bike race of the three "Grand Tours".

Andy Schleck ended the race in 2nd place for the 2nd consective year and Denis Menchov finished in 3rd place.

Contador only managed to win by a slim margin of only 28 seconds, which will be remembered in cycling history as one of the closest contended Tour de France races ever. There are also speculations that Contador will not race with team Astana next year.

Qin Dynasty (221 BC), Han Dynasty (202 BC), Sui Dynasty (589 AD), Yuan Dynasty (1271 AD), and Ming Dynasty (1368 AD).

China has become the giant that we all new she was. No longer a sleeping giant, but a wide awake giant that is poised to take it's rightful place as a leader on the world stage. It's currency, the yuan, is probably the most important currency in the world.
Chinese production has allowed consumers around the world to enjoy bargain priced goods. China was the country that invented paper making, the compass, gunpowder, and printing.

As the world economy has severly stumbled China has managed to maintain a continued growth.
Chinese consumers continue to drive demand for imports from around the world and sales in China for some companies have surpassed their domestic sales.

2010 Worldcup: South Africa!

2010-08-02T15:05:00.000-07:00

O.K. all you crazy Soccer fans!

The World Cup is finally here in spectacular fashion!

This is Africa’s first ever World Cup event and everybody is just ecstatic.

South Africa’s new Green Point Stadium in Cape Town is hosting the 2010 World Cup’s most exciting semi-final games. The stadium can seat up to 56,000 people. The tournament is going on now and will end on July 11^th.

There was some controversy leading up to the tournament surrounding the new tournament ball which is produced by Adidas. There were some who said that the ball had very unpredictable curving trajectories toward the end of its flight. The ball has a new type of construction method and appears to be performing normally.

Interestingly the first two matches of the tournament ended in a draw, with the match between South AfricaMexico and the United States vs. England concluding with a 1 to 1 score. vs. So far the highlight of the tournament came when South Africa’s Siphiwe Tshabalala scored the first goal of the competition.

Foxconn under fire!

2010-08-02T15:01:00.000-07:00

Foxconn Tecnology Group, is the world's largest contract manufacturer of electronics .Instead of being another “Silicon Valley”, Foxconn is quickly becoming Taiwan’s “Suicide Alley”. Over the past few months a total of 10 employees of the company have apparently taken their own lives.

Suicide is a very sad human situation that takes its toll on both friends and family.

It’s understandable that working a repetitive job for most of the day can become mundane and help create a dull and boring existence, but a persons self worth in Jesus not in a Job. Why do we attempt do define ourselves by our occupation? Jobs are good and are a necessary part of life, but we are more than a job.

Terry Gou, Foxconn’s Chairman and President, who happens to be the wealthiest man in Taiwan, has decided after much outcry and negative media coverage, to double the wages of all Foxconn workers.

Mr. Gou blamed personal issues of employees for many of the deaths. He has been accused by labor groups of running a sweat shop, which he denied.

Foxconn has recently decided to install anti-jump nets along dormitories at its production facility in Hebei Province.
Let’s just hope this action works.

Introducing iPhone 4!

2010-08-02T14:58:00.000-07:00

Well folks, Apple has done it again! Apple has managed to improve its already dominant smart phone. As it turns out, the prototype model that the popular web site Gizmodo obtained and then leaked several weeks ago was the new iphone 4.

The new phone is noticeably thinner and reportedly has an even higher resolutions screen than the current version. Wow!

The phone is 0.37" inches deep versus the 3G's 0.48" inches and is slightly narrower. It weighs approximately 4.8 ounces and the overall design screams elegance.

It also appears to have a front facing camera which can be increased.

The iPhone 4 will be available in two colors: black and white.

The phone will be available for sale at the end of June.

The competition just never has a chance to catch up!

Recently there has been a revelation along with several complaints about loss of the calling signal and dropped calls in the the device. Apple responded by offering an explanation of the antenna's perimeter design as well as a possible flaw in the strength signal bar display. At a special media conference Steve Jobs assured customers and offered full return amounts as well as free plastic casings that should elevate the problem.
The iPhone 4 is still a big hit, but because of production issues the white version of the handset won't be available until later this year

"Predators" is Pathetic!!!!

2010-08-02T14:48:00.000-07:00

“Oh my Gosh……. I just wasted 6 dollars”!

Wow, what a disappointment. I’ve been a huge Predator fan ever since the first Predator movie which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by John McTieranan and written by Jim & John Thomas hit the big screen in 1987. It was a good movie and had the coolest and most technologically advanced alien ever in the history of Hollywood.

All the Predator movies that followed the first film rather interesting including the Aliens vs. Predator movies (Alien vs. Predator & Alien vs. Predator: Requiem), but this last Predators production not only missed the mark by a mile but managed to give the entire franchise a black eye.

Of course a movie franchise as vast as this one is bound to have different teams of producers, writers, and directors for the various films. The goal for each franchise should be to continue the honored tradition while making worthy advancements, but this last group of franchisees; Robert Rodriguez( Producer), Nimrod Antal( Director), and Michael Finch & Alex Litvak(Writers), should have their franchisee license revoked.

“Predators” is so horrible that I don’t know where to start in analizing its various shortcomings. First of all, the movie is surprisingly similar to the first movie and was meant to be a kind of prequel to that movie. Like the first movie the main characters are in a jungle, heavily armed and from various backgrounds, but this is where the similarites end. The plot for this Predators movie manages to go beyond silly by having a group of professional killers from around the globe dropped on some alien planet without any solid explination of how they got there. There were no flashbacks or minor scenes revealing how they were captured and transported. Instead the movie just begins with the lead actor(Adrien Brody) unconscious in freefall trying to open a primitive looking parachute.

Interesting enough is the fact that Jim & John Thomas who were the character writers for the first film also this movie’s characters, but the difference is as clear as night and day. The actors in the first film while limited a least made you believe in their characters but the actors is this film were so one-dimensional that it was like watching a boring stage play. The plot, characters, and action never managed to sync up.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, with his thick acsent and limited range, managed to out perform the miscast Adrien Brody. Brody lacked the ability to project leadership as well as portray a strong physical presence, both of which his predecessor excelled. The only really strong performance was by Lawrence Fishburne who played a mentally ill survivor.

The movie tried desperately to capture the essence of the original but lacked the excitement and quality of choregraphy .

In this movie the Predators seemed slower, smaller, and less stronger than any of the previous Predator aliens. Their was one enhancement though in one of the Predator aliens that involved a exaggerated facial structure and jaw line compared to previous Predators. One of the characters briefly mentioned that there are apparently two types of Predator spiecies and they are in conflict with each other. Perhaps this development is a clue to plot of a future Predator movie. In fact, at the end of the movie the two lone survivors are still stuck on the alien planet with numerous parachutes of potiental hunting victims descending from the sky.

Suprisingly “Predators” was not shot as a 3D movie, which is shame because this format would be a great way to further show case the Predator alien’s technology like the inferred vision and projectile weapons. I had expected to see more of the Predator’s spacecraft, and home planet, but neither was the case.

Unfortunatley I cannot recommend this movie even as a DVD rental and therefore did not include a movie clip.

Drill Baby Drill = Spill Baby Spill!!!

2010-06-17T13:25:00.000-07:00

Don’t get me wrong, I love Sarah Palin, She’s adorable, but her drill baby drill slogan that she famously coined during the 2008 presidential campaign shows why voting for her and that other guy was definitely risky business. She has now reportedly backtracked and said that she was referring to onshore drilling. She’ also managed to come out and criticize the current administration on the BP spill. Wow!

While this oil spill is tragic it could have been avoided!

About 2 decades ago the magazine Popular Science would routinely feature functioning solar and electric powered cars. Somehow the technologies behind these inventions never made it to production. Perhaps these technologies and patents were quietly purchase by Oil companies who then simply shelved them away.

Hopefully as oil companies continue to drill and spill, public opinion on the use of fossil fuels will abruptly shift to the use of renewable energies.

Lakers vs. Celtics: Rivary Renewed!

2010-06-17T13:20:00.000-07:00

The renewed Lakers vs. Celtics rivalry has definitely lived up to the hype. Kobe & Company taking on Rondo and his gang has produced an action packed series. Of course Kobe won’t be able to win the finals by himself. He will need his teammates to step up and contribute and the Celtics will need to play through any spectacular performances he might produce.

So far the play of Rondo in the beginning of the series was a boost as he was able to coordinate the offense and get his teammates involved. Then Ray Allen’s record breaking Finals three point shot barrage was a mega boost. And not to be left out was Glen “Big Baby” Davis who came off the bench and slaughtered the Lakers and then slobbered all over them! Derek Fisher has repeatedly stepped up and delivered for the Lakers but other team members will need too to. So far it looks like the Celtics might just steamroll their way right to the Championship, but I predict that the Lakers will win in 7.

When two good teams like these compete against one another the fans are the ultimate winners and the National Basketball Association will also hugely benefit as a result of this renewed rivalry.

The Karate Kid: 2010

2010-06-15T10:40:00.001-07:00

What do you get when you combine Will Smith with Jada Pinkett? You get a flexible young fella by the name of Jaden Smith. When I say flexible, I mean real flexible. This kid could probably kick a traffic light standing still! This movie has the perfect Mr. Miyagi character in Jackie Chan. The preview trailer for the film did a great job in laying out the pretext of the plot. The first Karate Kid movie was a classic and this modern interpretation should match or maybe even exceed its predecessor.

In a season filled with 3-D disasters, The Karate Kid has the potential to rise to the top, where Jaiden can kick the hell out of it!

Halloween Helen!

2010-06-15T10:38:00.001-07:00

Halloween came early this year with the Wicked Witch of the West Wing, Helen Thomas looking scary and making even scarier comments about Israel! She and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadiinejad should get married.

How could someone be so stupid? Trust me; calling her as well as those Middle Eastern dictatorships that oppose

Israel

, stupid is being very kind. When you consider that the Hebrew nation endured and overcame the suppression of the ancient Egyptian empire, survived the horrible Nazi Holocaust and subdued the aggressive middle east in 1967 during the 6 Day War, how anyone could rally against and oppose the Jewish Nation having full knowledge of the atrocities’ committed against her is beyond deplorable. It’s just evil, plain evil.

Cavs No Haves!!!

2010-06-15T10:36:00.000-07:00

Well it looks like Superman and the King failed to get the job done. Old man Shaq is going to have to hate on Kobe again this year, but it’s not Kobe’s fault that O’Neal’s super ego caused him to leave the Lakers. The Cavs were a pretty good team in 2010, but being pretty good and being great are two different things. Greatness wins championships. Lebron may stay in Cleveland if he can get some descent help. He could probably win a championship soon if he went to Miami. King James and D. Wade: now that’s a winning combination!

Europe on EDGE!!!

2010-06-03T16:32:00.001-07:00

First it was the Euro currency declining in value due to the overwhelming dept in Greece, then there was the huge oil spill in the Gulf, for which British Petroleum been handed majority blame, and then there is the active volcano that keeps spitting out ash that’s bringing travel across the Euro zone to a halt. It seems that Europe just can’t catch a break. The issues mentioned above are just the top of the iceberg when it comes to Europe’s woos, with many European nations considering adopting austerity programs to tame their monetary debt and the Pope attempting to address the sexual abuse cases of the Church in Europe.

Mosley gets Whupped by Floyd Maywether!!!

2010-06-03T16:10:00.001-07:00

Floyd Mayweather, a.k.a The Scientist of Boxing, introduced Mosley to his punch lab.

Shane Mosley has always been a great fighter but never became a true champion by successfully defending his titles. He never looked comfortable in the spotlight either. He basically had to approach Mayweather and ask for the chance to fight instead of the other way around. “Sugar” Shane did rock “Money” Mayweather in the 2^nd round with a couple of strong right punches, but Mayweather held on (literally) and came back with an overall spectacular performance. This was a great fight, which was much needed by the boxing establishment as the UFC and MMA continue to gain ground with fight fans all over the world.

2 Million Ipads sold and counting!!!

2010-06-03T16:06:00.000-07:00

Move over Amazon Kindle, get out of the way Sony PSP, step aside netbooks, and make way for the incredible iPad.

The numbers speak for themselves. The Kindle has been on the market for at least 4 years in various configurations but has yet to reach 2 million units sold. The PSP has an undersized screen and fails to take advantage of Sony’s wide array of media content including its movies, music, and internet in a user friendly format.

This is very sad, because long before Apple began to build its iTunes media content, Sony already had a huge catalogue of media. This is a prime example of how poor vision and execution can prevent a company from capitalizing on an exploding market potential.

World's Tallest!!!

Highest Grossing Movie in the World ever!!!

2009-10-19T10:18:00.000-07:00

The trailer for this movie looks absolutely great!

The upcoming Avatar movie looks really great from what I can tell. In reality the plot is quite similar to the so called discovery and colonization of the America. It has a twist to the plot though because somehow the disabled lead character is able to control with his mind a physical body that resembles one of the native inhabitants of this new world.
The movie seems like it has a good plot and will be a visual feast as well.

The movie is due out in December so stay tunded.

Windows Vista is great? Vista was and is exciting to use and does not require the extra memory to run that 7 will.

Windows 7 has now been released and from what I can tell, it really hasn’t made a difference or impact one way or the other. Most PC users are still comfortable with Windows XP and are probably too complacent or frugal to desire an upgrade.
Windows Vista is perfect if you ask me.

"If you approve of Windows 7 or not, one thing is certain, Microsoft is constantly a continually loosing precious ground to Apple both perceptually and literally".
First there was the Zune that flopped horribly, then there was Vista that lacked a brilliant marketing campaign, and now Apple has ever growing iTunes and iPhone apps sites that should have the gaming industry shaking in their boots.

Swine Flu / N1H1 virus!

2009-10-15T09:28:00.000-07:00

Global Plague or Pandemic Propaganda!?!?
The media hype over the H1N1 has reached record proportions. Not in recent times has a “media epidemic” received so much attention.
The makers of TAMIFLU can thank the news channels for making them very rich.
Actually TAMIFLU is made by Roche Laboratories.
Earlier, I had posted a call for everyone to make sure that they got vaccinated, but then I realized I was just joining in with all the hype.
Instead of getting drugged up with a so called vaccination why not eat more fruits and vegetables and get 2 extra hours of sleep each night, and wash your hands frequently to help build up your immune system so that it can guard against all types of flu.
Thank you!

Apple Netbook Coming Soon?

2009-10-15T09:00:00.000-07:00

What will it actually look like? It will probably set the industry standard just as the ipod, macbooks, and iphone have!

It is rumored that Apple Inc. will be releasing their version a netbook.
This would make perfect sense, due the wide and ever growing popularity of these devises, but to date, these are only rumors because Apple has not officially released any information to support all the speculation.
I believe and hope that Apple will release a netbook. The speculators say that it would be towards the end of 2009 in time for the Christmas shopping season, but this is not concrete, and a release might be several months away.
One thing is certain though, if and when Apple produces a netbook it will become the industry standard.
Above are a couple conceptual depictions of what an Apple netbook might look like.
I personally believe that an Apple netbook would have a 12” screen minimal, but we shall see.

Is 2012 just another 2000 scare?

2009-10-12T14:34:00.000-07:00

Oh no, its the end of the world!
I don't think so.
I have enough to not worry about so as far as I am concerned its in God's hands.
The 2012 doomsday scenario stems in part from the Mayan Calendar and how it is organized and supposedly ends.
I’m not worried about the end of the World because my hope and faith is in my Heavenly Father. He sent his son Jesus to pay the price for my sins so I’m blameless before him and no matter what doomsday scenario that takes place my future with him is set.
In my opinion the media and nay sayers loss what little creditability they might have possessed during and after the year 2000 scare. Not only did they get the year 2000 computer bug theory wrong they failed to foresee the devastating attacks of 9/11. Talk about incompetent.
One thing is for certain, those who have rejected the one true GOD, are in a whole lot of trouble!
It's not about religion it's about relationship!

Congradulations Mr. President on the Nobel!

2009-10-12T13:40:00.001-07:00

Well it looks like the whole world appreciates President Obama's leadership.
Bravo President Obama!
It’s great to have an Intelligent leader who the rest of the world appreciates and respects.
Barak Obama is quite a talented individual with a unique and insightful approach.
He also had a campaign dream team. His administration is impressive as well even though early on there a few questionable hick ups in candidate selections. All in all he has been able to accomplish a great deal in fairly a short period of time.
The previous administration’s inability to deal with issues of national concern as they spiraled out of control to the extent of catastrophe and meltdown was embarrassing.
From Iraq to widespread corruption the country for the past 8 years has been unraveling at the seams at an astonishing rate. Our dependence on foreign oil is negligent, our confidence in card credit irresponsible, our rampant greed shameful.
We are getting a first hand account of what happens to a nation that forgets GOD.
That being said the Obama administration is working hard to redirect the corrosive polices of the past few years. First and foremost is the economy. Under no circumstance can a politician from the left or right convince me that President Obama, whose mother had to worry about medical bills as she was battling terminal cancer, is trying to destroy the health care system. These politicians are the most unpatriotic citizens of all as they shamelessly jockey for political position at the cost of the nation.
We must continue to pray for the nation and President Obama, that he will seek the guidance of GOD, especially in matters of the nation’s moral situation.
