             On Easter Monday, a group of snorkellers met at Port Noarlunga. AUSC’s annual Easter Marion bay trip was a great success this year. A total of 14 AUSClubers and 6 FUUCers came down, with some of our members staying off site with family. Great conditions for 5 keen divers on Saturday morning- flat water, warm weather, good viz and warm (well, warm-ish at 16C) water. A dive shop boat was parked over the Glenelg Barge so we dropped anchor on the Dredge (actually, right on the bow). A full boat of keen divers headed out on Saturday for some of the more deeper sites around Adelaide. The Stanvac Barges, The Saurian and 2 of the coal loading barges just off the Port Stanvac Oil Refinery were scuttled in 1954, and at 28m are some of the great deeper wrecks. Plenty of large nudis, and spider crabs spotted around as well as some playful dolphins during our surface interval.

Lovely day to be out and under the water. First dive was the Saurian - the largest (50 m long) of the three vessels known collectively as the Port Stanvac Barges. The sun was setting on a mill-pond flat sea when we got to West Beach ramp and it was dark as we left the marina in great conditions that allowed Stargazer to get cracking at just over 60kph. Seven divers took advantage of the great conditions with almost a flat sea, mild current and good viz at the bottom. Although there seemed a lot of interest leading up to the club's event for BBQ on the Blocks, but in the end, we had three divers and two boatsitter / chefs rock up to our "annual" event.
