I guess I should have known that I was going to be a photographer...

2011-07-12T20:14:00.000-07:00

My husband and I bought a boat over the weekend and decided to clean out our garage to make room for the new toy. I was going through some boxes from when I was still a kid and found four different cameras WITH film in them still. I will have to develop them and possibly show them (not sure what I will find).
...just thought I would share :-)

Antioch, Ca. - Jennifer Personal Trainer Session

2011-07-12T20:10:00.000-07:00

Meet Jen!! Jen and I have been friends since we were nine years old, playing softball in the East Bay. We have had a lot of fun over the years and this session was no different. Jen is a personal trainer and uses the TRX for all of her clients. She is amazing not only as a person, but as a trainer. I am not going to lie, after one day of her working me out, I was not able to walk...Jen's goal in this photo shoot was to show that you can hook up the TRX to anything and that it is very easy and can be brought to you. That is why we did our session at a park in Antioch, Ca. If you would like to view more of her session please go to http://www.mariearcephotography.com/

Kathy and Roderick | Family & Maternity Session | San Francisoco

2010-12-08T11:15:00.000-08:00

Kathy and Roderick are such sweet people! What they wanted to do was tell a story with their session. Most of the session was photographed at a nearby park in San Francisco. They frequented the park when they first moved to the area and soon it became a pleasant routine as they became pregnant. I really enjoyed our session and I am happy to say that they are now parents of a beautiful baby girl.

Congratulation Kathy and Roderick!!

Sumaia & George| Birthday Party | Napa

2010-12-08T08:58:00.000-08:00

An amazing amount of creativity happened to make this party truly unique and special. There were family members cooking and baking, while others put together the centerpieces. Suzanne, which is their mother put together all of their costumes. The theme was Fairies and Gnomes and could not have fit more perfectly. Throughout the party the Gnomes or boys would chase after all the Fairies or girls in their electric car. It was really cute and funny! This was one of the best parties yet! Sorry for the amount of photos...I just loved so many! Want to see photos from the entire party? Click here

PS: And there was an amazing Friary there for entertainment from Happily Ever Laughter!!

Sophia | Baby Session | Walnut Creek

2010-12-08T08:15:00.000-08:00

Sophia was actually the funniest newborns I have ever met! She was just a few weeks old, but I could already tell that she was going to be a quite the little lady. She was snoozing most of the session, but she must have had some amazing dreams because she was always smiling, grinning or making some sort of movement with her arms. Here are a few of my favs!!

Alexa | Baby Session | Hayward

2010-12-08T08:02:00.000-08:00

Ahhhh....Alexa was so adorable! She loved taking photos outside and was not afraid to show her emotions! She is a very sweet baby and I feel honored to have had the chance to capture just a few of her many faces.

The Chan Family | Family Portraits | Alameda Beach

2010-12-07T23:58:00.000-08:00

This family session I would have to say is one of my favorites! We captured more candid shot of little one, who was very interested in playing on the beach. We had a blast! Sword fights with sticks and dipping our toes in the cool water on a perfect Summer Day! What a beautiful family!!

Oh...Where have you been???

2010-12-07T23:28:00.000-08:00

Baby Portraits | August 2010

2010-08-08T01:47:00.000-07:00

Baby Sienna!!!

These photographs are of my good friends new baby daughter Sienna. She is about two months old and is shaping up to be the perfect model. We had so much fun during this session, she just loved the camera. It took so much to get a cry shot because when she started to cry, she would look at the camera and smile :-). This is my first baby portrait session and I am so excited and blessed to have such amazing babies to capture!! To view the entire album click on Baby Sienna's Portrait Session and let me know what you think!!

Nargis & Ella Maternity

Lindsay Wildlife Museum, Walnut Creek

My next post is a maternity session that was so much fun. This was my very first maternity session, not too bad if I say so myself. It helps that I had a little help from the cutest big sister ever! Thanks Big Sister Ella! We went to the Lindsey Wildlife Museum in Walnut Creek and found a cute and cozy tucked away corner that worked perfectly. I am happy to announce that Ella now has a beautiful healthy little sister named Sienna. I am hoping to post a few baby photos soon. Keep a look out!! Check out our session here Nargia & Ella Maternity Session.

New Blog comes NEW Goals

2010-06-07T15:08:00.000-07:00

Thank you so much for reading my blog. I created this blog as a way to promote my new ambition as a photographer. While creating the blog I decided to set myself a new goal. I have decided that every week (beginning within the next few weeks) I will re-create an image that I admire. I will put my own twist on it, but the feeling and meaning of the image should remain the same. Every Friday I will post the original image along with my image as well. I will do this for 12 weeks!! This will be a challenge, but what a better way to learn and have fun at the same time then a challenge? Wish me luck!!!

BTW, please feel free to recommend images and ideas...
