It's a dark time for torrenters with kickass shutting down a few weeks ago and now Torrentz, the best torrent meta search engine shutting down after 13 years of service a couple of days back without any specific reason.

Many may say it's the end of internet piracy. But certainly it's not. There are still a lot of ways to download/stream movies and tv shows, download games and music, download videos like those in your "hidden folder".

So let's get to the main part of this article, the reason why you started to read this in the first place.

Here are some alternatives to kickass torrents :

1. 1337x This is certainly not a replacement for kat. But it's quite good and usable. It doesn't have the best search and sorting features but still a great alternative to kat.

2. Extratorrent Again not the greatest, but usable. Quick uploads and most of the popular torrents have a lot of seeders. Good search but a lot of popup ads.

3. Isohunt

A kickass clone is still working fine, but many believe its a honeypot. I would recommend refraining for using it.

Apart from these P2P websites, there are a few open directories which have a lot of tv shows and movies available for you to download. Here's a subreddit dedicated to open directories.

Before downloading from any of the open directories do read the comments on that particular post. Sometimes they help out a lot.

How will the universe end?

Let's face it.Everything eventually comes to end and our universe is no exception.

So how will the universe end?

There are many theories proposed by cosmologists.Some interesting ones are discussed.

It's now widely accepted that the universe is flat and is continuously expanding.Cosmologists can't actually predict the extent till which the universe will expand.

Imagine a balloon filled with air.The balloon inflates till is maximum capacity.If you continue filling it with air it pops.Same is the case with our universe.

Till the space-time fabric can hold our universe, it will.But as the universe is continuously expanding, the balloon will surely pop some day, shredding every piece of matter it contains.

The next one is not as dramatic as the earlier one.

The next theory suggests that after a looooong time, say a couple of billion years later, our only energy source the SUN will die and turn into a red dwarf.Also, our galaxy will move away from the center of the universe and eventually will be isolated from rest of the universe.

There would be no other source of energy and so the earth will freeze and so would we.

The next one has got a pretty interesting name to it its called "The Big Crunch"

It's the opposite of Big Bang.

The universe will keep on expanding till a certain limit.This limit is not known.After the limit is reached the universe will collapse.This means every piece of matter will fall on to one another thus compressing the universe.

A point will come when all of our universe will be concentrated in a piece of matter which will be less in size than an atom, followed by Big Bang.

Imagine a rocket.You try to launch it from the earth into the space.But if the fuel powering it runs out,the rocket falls back to the launch pad.

So if we actually think it through, what it implies is the universe goes through this perpetual cycle of
expanding and collapsing.

How to participate in these giveaways?

-First make a Reddit account if you haven't created already.
-Subscribe to the above mentioned subreddit.

-Read the rules/guidelines.Every giveaway has different rules so be sure to read them before participating.

So most of you will be like:

Let me explain, most of you might create an account right now, and straightaway try to participate by commenting on the giveaway post.And after some time, you might receive a notification saying "your comment has been deleted".

Amelia Earheart

Amelia Earheart's daring round the world flight was cut short when her Lockheed Electra disappeared over the Pacific Ocean on June 2,1937.Within hours, the US Navy and Cost Gaurd started the most expensive rescue operation in the history.On July 19, the operation was shut down with no sign of Earheart.The operation costed the US Government a whopping 4 million dollars.

After 78 years, we still don't know what exactly happened to Amelia Earheart.

DB Cooper

DB Cooper a notorious criminal, hijacked Northwest Airlines #305 on 24 November 1971, armed with a briefcase bomb.He demanded and received $200,000 as a ransom from the authorities and as promised released all the passengers at the Seattle airport.With 2 pilots and 1 flight attendant remaining, Cooper left for Portland from the Seattle airport. 45 min into the flight, Cooper grabbed a parachute, strapped the cash on to his chest and jumped out of the plane.That's the last time anyone would see him.The military searched the area of Cooper's flight path but never found a body or a parachute.

DB Coopers whereabouts still remain unknown.

Maura Murray

Maura Murray, a 21-year-old nursing student at the University of Massachusetts left the university campus on February 9,2004. Before leaving she had emailed her professor to tell them that she was going away because of death in the family.That night on her way home, she crashed her car into a tree near Woodsville,New Hampshire.A bus driver came by and asked her if she needed any help, to which Maura replied "No".The bus driver anyway called the police after reaching the nearest phone booth.After the police arrived at the scene they discovered her car but Maura was nowhere to be found.There were no footprints or any signs of struggle found on the scene.

The next day, Maura's fiancee in Oklahoma received a voicemail from her, but he only heard sobbing on the other end of the line.

And that's the last time anyone ever heard from Maura Murray.

Barbara Bolick

Barbara Bolick, a 55 yr old woman from Corvallis,Montana, went on a hiking trip in the Bitterroot Mountains with Jim Ramaker on July 18,2007.They were heading towards Bear Creek Overlook where Jim stopped to look at the scenic view.Barbara was only a few meters behind him.Jim then turned back to look for Barbara but couldn't find her.Jim claims that he had been looking away from here for less than a minute, and that's when she completely vanished.Jim's story sounds quite unbelievable and so many may think that he had to do something with Barbaras disappearance.But his cooperation with the authorities has proved that he is certainly telling the truth.

Barabara Bolick is still missing.

Brian Shaffer

Brian Randall Shaffer, a 27 year old medical student from Ohio State University went to a bar called the Ugly Yuna Saloona on the evening of April 1,2006.The bar workers claim that he had been drinking heavily that night after talking to his girlfriend on his cell phone.He was seen talking to 2 young women in the bar and no one remembers seeing him after that.

Now here's the interesting part, the surveillance footage clearly show Shaffer entering the bar but not leaving it.The authorities checked the bar and rechecked the footage several times but with no luck.

CUSTOM NOTIFICATIONS

Brand new feature in WhatsApp version 2.12.250.

HOW TO TURN ON CUSTOM NOTIFICATION?

To turn on custom notification you need to start WhatsApp, tap on the contact for which you want to set the custom notification and then go into contact details.Then tap on Custom Notification and then set as per your need.

You can set the notification tone, vibration length, popup notification and theme as well.

MUTE

With new WhatsApp, you can silent personal chats as well.So no more annoying notifications from unwanted friends!

HOW TO MUTE A PERSONAL CHAT?

To mute a personal chat you need to start WhatsApp, tap on the contact you want to mute and then go into contact details.Then use the slider to mute the contact.

LOWER DATA CONSUMPTION

The new version of WhatsApp comes with an internet data saver option.Now WhatsApp Calls can be done with reduced data consumption.

HOW TO ACTIVATE THIS OPTION?

To activate this, you need to go to Settings and under settings you need to tap on Chats and Calls and then scroll down.Then check the low data consumption option.

NEW EMOJIS

The new update brings in some vulgar/rude/impolite emojis.Also., you get emojis for different skin-tones.

If you haven't updated WhatsApp yet then be sure to update it.The developers have added some really cool features.

Nothing fancy here, but really important as far as security is concerned.

In early versions of android, you weren't able to edit permissions for every app you installed.
Android M gives you the power to control what the app can access and what it can't.

So if you don't want the Facebook app to access your camera or your microphone then you can just edit the permissions and Facebook can no longer access your microphone or camera.

That's a very powerful feature and it's going to make android more secure and safe.

Fingerprint API

A bunch of phones in the market today have a fingerprint scanner, but its only used for unlocking the phone.

With the release of Android M things are going to get pretty interesting.Developers at Gooogle are working to standardize the fingerprint sensor support and unify everything into a fingerprint API.

For an app developer, this unlocks a lot of possibilities.Developers now can use the fingerprint scanner to authenticate logins.They can use it to authenticate online purchases.The possibilities are endless.

ANDROID DOZE

Every Android phone in the market today has one major problem, battery life.Android M introduces DOZE.

Google claims that this feature will increase the battery life substantially.

What DOZE does is it reads data from the sensors and if no activity is detected it shuts down a few processes.High priority processes such as alarms or calls are excluded from it's shut down process list.

To test this new feature, we will have to wait till google rolls out Android M.

Google Now has become a very important part of the android system.It's smart and it's accurate.This makes it really helpful.

Android M takes it to a new level.Now along with Google now you have Google now on tap.
This new feature can be opened over any app.So you don't need to leave the app.

Google now on tap reads whats written on the screen understands it and provides suggestions based on it.

CAN I EXPECT ANDROID M UPDATE ON MY DEVICE?

NEXUS DEVICES

If you own a nexus 5, nexus 9 or a nexus 6 then you get the update before anyone else does.Google is yet to announce the official release date but you can expect an update around mid-October.

LG DEVICES

LG hasn't said anything about the update yet, but we think that G3 and G4 might recive an update.Release dates are still unknow.

MOTOROLA DEVICES

Motorola phones run on stock vanilla android with some extra features and apps provided by Motorola.So Moto X,Moto G and Moto E will recieve updates soon after Nexus devices recieve the update.

SAMSUNG DEVICES

Samsung modifies the android OS a lot.So upgrades need a lot of time.

The Note 5,Note 4 from the Note family and the Galaxy s6 and s5 and their variants will surely recieve updates.

SONY DEVICES

Probably the Sony Z series will recieve Android M update.No official statement from Sony as of yet.

The official dates aren't out yet.Also the updates heavliy depend on your country and the carrier.
