'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2' - starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint - has smashed the US box office record for the highest-grossing US opening weekend, taking $168.6 million in just three days.

The eighth movie in the wizard franchise - starring Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint - banked the incredible figure in just three days in the US and Canada, surpassing the previous record of $158.4 million set by Batman movie 'The Dark Knight' in 2008.
According to an estimate by film distributor Warner Bros, the movie also made the biggest-ever international debut, grossing $307 million in 59 different countries, making the total figure a staggering $475.6 million.
Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution for Warner Bros, thinks the final 'Harry Potter' instalment has the potential to smash through the $1 billion barrier.
He said: "We had the most successful franchise in the history of the motion picture business, and we had a huge fan base. We also got fantastic reviews.
"That all enables us to expand our footprint. We are going to be around for a long time."
Outside of the US the movie performed best in the UK - where 'Harry Potter' author J.K. Rowling hails from - taking a record $36.6 million.

"Of anyone I could be associated with for the rest of my life, for it to be Hermione Granger - beautiful, strong, intelligent and determined - I'm just thrilled."
The star - who has just finished filming new film 'The Perks of Being A Wallflower' - went on to say that she thinks Hermione is a brilliant role model for young girls.

She told Live! magazine: "I'm a small-town girl and go home when I can, and the people there always look out for me. I think they're proud that someone from there made it so big. There's a pizza restaurant in the centre that I used to go to when I was at high school, and they've turned it into kind of an Avril-themed place. There's even a pizza named after me made from my favourite toppings: pepperoni, olives and mushrooms."
Avril says food is quite important in her life and as well as pizzas, she also enjoys cooking a traditional British Sunday roast dinner.
She said: "I may be Canadian, but I cook the best Sunday roast.
My mum cooked every night when I was growing up and one thing I picked up from her was roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Growing up, a lot of the mums I knew used to cook a British dinner. I love making little Yorkshires and getting them to rise perfectly. I like being domesticated. It's my way of unwinding. After months of touring and promotion I just want to stay in and be normal. Soccer star David Beckham has explained in detail the meaning behind his newborn daughter's name, insisting spiritual reasons played a big part in deciding on Harper Seven.

Beckham's wife, former Spice Girls star Victoria, gave birth to the couple's fourth child last weekend (10Jul11).

Many believed the tot's middle name was in reference to Beckham's jersey number when he played for Manchester United and England, as well as the hour and month of her birth and her weight.

But Beckham has elaborated on the couple's reasons for the unusual pick - and he's adamant 'Seven' has more meaning than has been speculated.

In a video clip posted on his Facebook.com page, Beckham says, "A lot of people have assumed that it's just because it was my shirt number that I wore for many years, and part of it is. Part of it is because I had so much luck around wearing that number, wearing it for England, wearing it for Manchester United - it was such an influential number throughout my career, and a lucky number, but that wasn't the main reason.

"The other reasons behind 'Seven' were because it symbolises spiritual perfection, Seven Wonders of the World, seven colours of the rainbow and in many cultures around the world, it's regarded as alucky number. We love the name. We love Harper Seven."

And he reveals Harper, "an old English name", came about because Victoria has always been a fan of author Harper Lee, who wrote her favourite book To Kill A Mockingbird.

He adds, "We're very proud of having her in our lives and our family. It's an amazing time for our family right now."

The former 98 Degrees singer proposed to Minnillo last November (10) after four years of dating.

The pair exchanged vows on Friday (15Jul11) after sending just 35 close friends and family invites in the form of plane tickets.

The guests were then flown to a mystery location to attend the ceremony.

Zarine Khan unfit to sport a Bikini

At a time when a volley of actresses are sweating it out to get in shape, actress Zarine Khan feels her body is not meant for a bikini and dismisses reports that she will be donning the two-piece in her upcoming film `Houseful 2`.

"There is no bikini scene in `Houseful 2` and moreover I haven`t got a body for a bikini," said Zarine, who started her Bollywood journey opposite Salman Khan in period flop "Veer".

`Houseful 2`, a sequel of Sajid Khan`s comedy film starring Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Asin and Zarine Khan is currently under production.

"I haven`t prepared anything for the role but have gone to the gym and worked hard since the role is ultra glamorous and I want to be at par with the other heroines," the 23-year-old actress told.

Zarine, who walked the ramp for Rina Dhaka for the `Cotton Day` event organised by Cotton Council International, is all excited about working with Ritesh Deshmukh.

"We have just finished shooting a schedule of the film in London and it was a lot of fun. As far as my acting is concerned, both Ritesh and director Sajid Khan will help me if I go wrong," she said.

Last seen in popular song `character dheela` with Salman in the movie `Ready`, Zarine is open to item songs but does not want to do anything vulgar.

"I have already said no to lot of item numbers that were offered to me since I found them vulgar. I would never do something that is vulgar," she said.

Zarine hopes that the film will help people know her fun side. "I don`t make a lot of public appearances since I think people are stuck with my Veer image. In Ready they saw

Britney Spears has announced through a website that she has invited singer Sonu Nigam to contribute vocals on her latest track "I Wanna Go".

Produced by DJ Lloyd (Nicole Scherzinger), Britney commented on the track: “I’m so excited about having Sonu on ‘I Wanna Go’. His vocals add such a different feel, which I love! Watch out Bollywood – it's Britney and Sonu!“

Fused Indian instruments also are to appear on the track as well as Sonu's part Hindi, part English vocals.

Arnold Schwarzenegger to return to acting in 'Last Stand'

Arnold Schwarzenegger said he'd be back. The former governor of California will return to acting with a starring role in the Lionsgate film Last Stand.
Schwarzenegger will play a border-town sheriff who unwittingly finds himself battling a notorious drug kingpin on the run.

Joe Drake, president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said Schwarzenegger will "bring incredible magnetism" to the character of Sheriff Owens.

The role represents Schwarzenegger's first major movie role since 2003's Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. He made a cameo appearance in last summer's The Expendables.

Drake said Schwarzenegger's appearance in that film "electrified the audience" and that he expects the action star-turned-politician to bring that same energy to this Western tale.

The film will be directed by Korean filmmaker Kim Jee-Woon. No shooting or release date was announced.

Schwarzenegger spokesman Daniel Ketchell confirmed Tuesday that Schwarzenegger will appear in Last Stand but did not elaborate.

Schwarzenegger said in May that he was putting his acting projects on hold after disclosing that he fathered a child with a family housekeeper and splitting with wife Maria Shriver.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been denied permission to interact with the students of Lucknow University as part of a promotional event for ‘Aarakshan’.

Amitabh Bachchan had to address Lucknow University students on the issue of job reservation to promote Aarakshan, but the varsity has denied permission.

Director Prakash Jha thinks that the university got scared as it's a sensitive issue.

"They didn't know whether we'd be arguing for or against job reservation. It's a thorny issue in that state, I understand. But are we supposed to sweep sensitive issues under the carpet? How will our society develop if there's no debate? I think they ju

st got scared. Don't ask of whom," Jha told Mumbai Mirror.

Jha had already chalked out plans for a Q&A session between Amitabh and the university students.

The director says, "Earlier during the marketing of Rajneeti we were similarly barred from entering academic institutions in Delhi to discuss present day politics. We all know who they were scared of."

Jennifer Lopez is set to turn the men who tow away illegally parked cars in Miami, Florida into TV stars.
The singer/actress is the producer of new reality TV series South Beach Tow, which debuts in America next week (20Jul11).
The programme revolves around Robert Ashenoff and his family towing company, which impounds cars parked illegally all over the city.
Executive producer Simon Fields, who came across the firm when employees towed his car, says, "We shot a teaser reel on the family, I showed it to her, and she loved them."

Harry Potter Finale Is A Big Hit Around The Globe

The final Harry Potter movie is already working its magic around the world - the film took in a big $43.6 million (£27.3 million) in 26 territories in just 24 hours.
The film will hit U.S. cinemas at midnight on Thursday (14Jul11) but it's already a hit overseas in the countries it was released in late on Wednesday (13Jul11).
It broke Wednesday-release box office records in France and the film became the franchise's biggest opening in Australia, according to studio estimates.
The film is expected to smash the $125 million (£78.1 million) the last Potter movie, Deathly Hallows: Part 1, made in its opening weekend in the U.S. and some experts predict the final film may even challenge The Dark Knight's $158.4 million (£99 million) record-breaking opening weekend in the U.S.
Studio bosses at Warner Bros. are also confident that Deathly Hallows: Part 2 could become the first Harry Potter film to top $1 billion at the box office worldwide.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the first film in the series, came closest with $974.8 million (£608.8 million).
