At exactly 10 in the morning, a lot of Sones waiting for their turn to grab their own copies of the latest album of famous KPop's group, Girls Generation at Astroplus in SM North EDSA The Block. I was in awe when there's a lot of Sones around, brought their own SNSD's collectibles like 2012 calendars, postcards, etc.

I'd got a chance to mingle with them. They said that they are waiting for the 3rd album of Girls Generation, The Boys and Mr. Taxi for so long. And hopefully, SNSD will visit our country...soon.

A group of fans enchanted us with a dance number. I like their costumes...well prepared performance!

Jampacked Night At 90s Music Comes Alive's Album Launch

The weekend of January 13 and 14 became a throwback of the 90s as popular bands and the hottest solo acts gathered together for the launch of the album “90s Music Comes Alive” presented by Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 Megaworld, MCA Music, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls with MYX, Jam 88.3, Gadgets Magazine, Business Mirror, ETC, Jack TV, 2nd Avenue and Yahoo Philippines.

Day 1 which was coincidentally Friday the 13th didn’t turn out scary as top bands Chicosci, Tanya Markova, Typecast and December Avenue with special guest Hijo rocked the night with their versions of 90s songs in the album as well as their own hits. Day 2 was “mellow night” with the King of Acoustic Pop Nyoy Volante headlining the activity with other MCA Music artists—Asia’s Acoustic Sweetheart Sabrina and singer/ songwriter Toto Sorioso. Light jazz chanteuse Tricia Garcia guested and showcased songs from her album “Kulay.”

Novuhair | Nature's Answer To Hair Loss

Fanny Serrano has been at the helm of the beauty industry since the eighties. He was the favorite of celebrities around with the likes of Sharon Cuneta, Maricel Cuneta, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

He has successfully expanded his career from beauty stylist to screen actor to entrepreneur in the last couple of decades.

Tita Fanny or TF, as he is fondly called in showbiz, shared how he once had a problem with hair fall and hair loss.

Here's what he said about the product, Novuhair:

"[Before] kasi, grabe ang [dami ng buhok sa] punda ng unan ko every morning."

"At saka yung sink ko nagbabara. Ilang beses na yan nagbabara. Ipapa-ayos ko and makikita nila isang kamao na hair na nakaikot [sa loob].

"Until I discovered this treatment, itong Novuhair, na nag-stop ng falling hair ko."

Fanny was easily convinced by the owners to become the face of their ingenious formula. He realized that this is no ordinary beauty product but a real solution to a real health problem that many people around the world suffer from.

He says, "I'm blessed na na-discover ko 'to and nung na-discover ko nga, talagang hinanap ko yung may-ari nito, yung kumpanya nito.

"Ayun naman, nagkataon naman na may common friends kami so andito, nagkatagpo kami. So, kumbaga hindi pa kami magkakilala ine-endorse ko na 'to, what more ngayon?"

His advice to those who want to try it is to use it twice a day—morning and night—religiously.

We also asked Tita Fanny about his tips on proper hair care—what people should do to avoid damage and how to respond to hair problems.

Fanny states his hair philosophy as follows:

"Ang philosophy ko sa hair, talagang care with passion.

"Alagaan mo talaga ang buhok mo kasi crowning glory natin pala yan. Hindi mo dapat i-balewala yan.

"Talagang kailangan pag galing ka sa mahabang biyahe o maalikabok na biyahe, maski everyday sa mga estudyante, pagkatapos manggaling sa kung saan, kailangan mo talagang i-shampoo.

"And then, it's really very important to condition the hair.

"Kapag shinampoo natin, nag-o-open yung cuticle. Pag nag-open ang cuticle nag-i-invite siya ng mga bacteria.

"Kailangan i-condition mo para yung mga cuticle magsara kasi ang cuticle makaliskis 'yan, e, malilit 'yan na bumubuka.

Hair fall: truths and untruths

Aside from old age, what’s one thing we enjoy noticing in others but wholly deny when it happens to ourselves? Old age’s sister: hair loss.

That’s right: that patch of space somewhere on your scalp, usually characterized by an unwelcome sheen and the threat of more of it to come.

Yet fear not, for every problem – perceived or otherwise – comes with it a solution. Before jumping over to that however, let us understand a couple of things about hair loss – the myths, truths, and how our proposed solution busts all the untruths, as detailed by a hair and scalp medical expert in one of the leading hospitals in the Philippines.

Myth No. 1: Wearing hats can cause hair loss

Myth No. 5: There is no solution to hair loss

PUSONG WAGAS is set in pre-colonial Manila, highlighting the exemplary love of Luyong, a gifted carpenter, and Manda, a tribal princess, and their sacrifice in the face of the coming foreign invaders. Based on the Legend of Mandaluyong, this original contemporary ballet is co-produced by the City of Mandaluyong as an initiative of Hon. Mayor Benjamin Abalos Jr.

PUSONG WAGAS' libretto is by Nicholas B. Pichay, all-new original music by independent music icon Cynthia Alexander, and fresh new choreography by BP Resident Choreographer Alden Lugnasin. Sets are by Mio Infante and costumes by Tuxs Rutaquio.

Confirmed: Rep. Iggy Arroyo Is Dead

5th District Negros Occidental Rep. Iggy Arroyo died in London. He was 60 years old. As his lawyer Romulo Macalintal said that Arroyo succumbed to cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment for liver ailment. Last December,2011,
Arroyo had said that he was going to stay longer in the UK for his treatment.

The deceased congressman's brother, former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo, said his remains will be brought home "any day now."

A1 releases new album, performs in Manila this February

Couples, lovebirds, and hopeless romantics are assured of the latest, world-class love songs and a major live performance from a hit-making act come the month of February.
Make way for boyband A1 as they release a new album entitled “Waiting For Daylight,” just a couple of weeks before they perform at the Smart Araneta Coliseum with the members of Blue and the frontman of 98 Degrees, Jeff Timmons.
MCA Music announced February 6 as release date of the group’s new album which contains 15 tracks, including unreleased acoustic versions of their biggest hits: “Like A Rose,” “Caught In the Middle,” and “Everytime.” Carrie single is the title track which boasts elements constituting the relieving feeling of seeing daylight after a stormy night.
On February 25, the triple treat concert dubbed "The Greatest Hits Tour: Blue, Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees and a1 - Live in Manila 2012" and made possible by Wilbros Live, takes place at the Big Dome, 8 pm, on what is the 26th anniversary of EDSA Revolution. The same night 26 years ago, love was in the air as dictatorship finally left the Philippines and democracy was restored. This time, the modern classics of the three boyband acts are expected to fill up the venue in a night of good music, well-orchestrated showmanship and glamour looks.
A1 stated in a recent interview with a Manila reporter, “We will do our best to do every big hit! We are doing this for the fans and want to give them what they want to see! The English pop vocal group Blue is set to deliver their hits like “All Rise”, “Too Close”, “If You Come Back”, “Fly By”, “One Love”, and I’m Yours”.

NIKE, Inc. President & CEO Mark Parker unveiled NIKE+ FuelBand at an event in New York attended by seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong, Oklahoma City scoring champion and all-star Kevin Durant and 2011 IAAF women’s 100-meter World Champion Carmelita Jeter.

After months of dominating on primetime, GMA-7’s Munting Herederaconcludes its successful nine-month journey with a nerve-racking finale week from January 30 to February 3.

Intended to run for only 13 weeks, the Kapuso family drama received several extensions after consistently topping ratings charts. The show garnered its highest audience share last August 30, 2011 with an overwhelming 49.5 points among Mega Manila households according to AGB Nielsen (based on May 9, 2011 to January 17, 2012 Mega Manila households data). To this day, Munting Heredera remains at the top of its game as it continues to register high ratings relative to its competition.
