Financial crisis of 2007–2010

The financial crisis of 2007–present is a financial crisis triggered by a liquidity shortfall in the United States banking system. It has resulted in the collapse of large financial institutions, the "bail out" of banks by national governments and downturns in stockmarkets around the world. It is considered by many economists to be the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

It contributed to the failure of key businesses, declines in consumer wealth estimated in the trillions of U.S. dollars, substantial financial commitments incurred by governments, and a significant decline in economic activity.Many causes have been proposed, with varying weight assigned by experts.

Both market-based and regulatory solutions have been implemented or are under consideration,while significant risks remain for the world economy over the 2010–2011 periods. Although this economic period has at times been referred to as "the Great Recession," this same phrase has been used to refer to every recession of the several preceding decades.

The collapse of a global housing bubble, which peaked in the U.S. in 2006, caused the values of securities tied to real estate pricing to plummet thereafter, damaging financial institutions globally. Questions regarding bank solvency, declines in credit availability, and damaged investor confidence had an impact on global stock markets, where securities suffered large losses during late 2008 and early 2009. Economies worldwide slowed during this period as credit tightened and international trade declined. Critics argued that credit rating agencies and investors failed to accurately price the risk involved with mortgage-related financial products, and that governments did not adjust their regulatory practices to address 21st century financial markets. Governments and central banks responded with unprecedented fiscal stimulus, monetary policy expansion, and institutional bailouts.

Background and causes

The immediate cause or trigger of the crisis was the bursting of the United States housing bubble which peaked in approximately 2005–2006.High default rates on "subprime" and adjustable rate mortgages (ARM), began to increase quickly thereafter. An increase in loan packaging, marketing and incentives such as easy initial terms and a long-term trend of rising housing prices had encouraged borrowers to assume difficult mortgages in the belief they would be able to quickly refinance at more favorable terms. However, once interest rates began to rise and housing prices started to drop moderately in 2006–2007 in many parts of the U.S., refinancing became more difficult. Defaults and foreclosure activity increased dramatically as easy initial terms expired, home prices failed to go up as anticipated, and ARM interest rates reset higher.

Low interest rates and large inflows of foreign funds created easy credit conditions for a umber of years prior to the crisis, fueling a housing construction boom and encouraging debt-financed consumption.The combination of easy credit and money inflow contributed to the United States housing bubble. Loans of various types (e.g., mortgage, credit card, and auto) were easy to obtain and consumers assumed an unprecedented debt load. As part of the housing and credit booms, the amount of financial agreements called mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and collateralized debt obligations (CDO), which derived their value from mortgage payments and housing prices, greatly increased. Such financial innovation enabled institutions and investors around the world to invest in the U.S. housing market. As housing prices declined, major global financial institutions that had borrowed and invested heavily in subprime MBS reported significant losses. Falling prices also resulted in homes worth less than the mortgage loan, providing a financial incentive to enter foreclosure. The ongoing foreclosure epidemic that began in late 2006 in the U.S. continues to drain wealth from consumers and erodes the financial strength of banking institutions. Defaults and losses on other loan types also increased significantly as the crisis expanded from the housing market to other parts of the economy. Total losses are estimated in the trillions of U.S. dollars globally.

While the housing and credit bubbles built, a series of factors caused the financial system to both expand and become increasingly fragile, a process called financialization. Policymakers did not recognize the increasingly important role played by financial institutions such as investment banks and hedge funds, also known as the shadow banking system. Some experts believe these institutions had become as important as commercial (depository) banks in providing credit to the U.S. economy, but they were not subject to the same regulations.These institutions as well as certain regulated banks had also assumed significant debt burdens while providing the loans described above and did not have a financial cushion sufficient to absorb large loan defaults or MBS losses.These losses impacted the ability of financial institutions to lend, slowing economic activity. Concerns regarding the stability of key financial institutions drove central banks to provide funds to encourage lending and restore faith in the commercial paper markets, which are integral to funding business operations. Governments also bailed out key financial institutions and implemented economic stimulus programs, assuming significant additional financial commitments.

What is Global Warming?

The Earth as an ecosystem is changing, attributable in great part to the effects of globalization and man. More carbon dioxide is now in the atmosphere than has been in the past 650,000 years. This carbon stays in the atmosphere, acts like a warm blanket, and holds in the heat — hence the name ‘global warming.’

Health Risks

Malaria. Dengue Fever. Encephalitis. These names are not usually heard in emergency rooms and doctors’ offices in the United States. But if we don’t act to curb global warming, they will be. As temperatures rise, disease-carrying mosquitoes and rodents spread, infecting people in their wake. Doctors at the Harvard Medical School have linked recent U.S. outbreaks of dengue fever, malaria, hantavirus and other diseases directly to climate change.
The reason we exist on this planet is because the earth naturally traps just enough heat in the atmosphere to keep the temperature within a very narrow range - this creates the conditions that give us breathable air, clean water, and the weather we depend on to survive. Human beings have begun to tip that balance. We've overloaded the atmosphere with heat-trapping gasses from our cars and factories and power plants. If we don't start fixing the problem now, we’re in for devastating changes to our environment. We will experience extreme temperatures, rises in sea levels, and storms of unimaginable destructive fury. Recently, alarming events that are consistent with scientific predictions about the effects of climate change have become more and more commonplace.

Global warming is a crisis facing our world, our country and our own cities. During the World Environment Conference, which I am proud to host in San Francisco (the first time this conference has ever been held in North America) we will be sharing and discussing ideas to fight global warming. As the tenth largest emitter of global warming pollution in the entire world, what CA does can make a difference and serve as an example to the rest of the country and the globe. As THE largest emitter of global warming pollution in the world, the United States should be a leader in fighting this crisis. San Francisco and California are already showing what can be done to reduce global warming pollution. By utilizing alternative energy technologies that exist today, we are not only reducing global warming pollution, we are saving money for the city, the state and our citizens. San Francisco has already instituted a number of programs which can be viewed as national models and we have enacted our own Local Global Climate Action Plan. For example, when a car is retired out of the San Francisco City fleet, it is replaced by a hybrid car, curbing pollution and saving tax payers money.

Environmental Destruction

The massive ice sheets in the Arctic are melting at alarming rates. This is causing the oceans to rise. That’s how big these ice sheets are! Most of the world’s population lives on or near the coasts. Rising ocean levels, an estimated six feet over the next 100 years or sooner, will cause massive devastation and economic catastrophe to population centers worldwide.

The United States, with only four percent of the world’s population, is responsible for 22% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. A rapid transition to energy efficiency and renewable energy sources will combat global warming, protect human health, create new jobs, protect habitat and wildlife, and ensure a secure, affordable energy future.

7.terus perhatikan hda nya berapa? misal kan hda1,hda2.hda5. lalu ketikan perintah
sudo fsck -fy /dev/hda1 <--- kalo hda-1 kalo hda-2 ya tinggal di ganti aja.

David MacKechnie, a songwriter from Cave Junction, Oregon, heard Kristy sing and suggested that she send her material to Marty Rendleman in Dallas, Texas. It seems that Marty discovered and managed LeAnn Rimes for the first three years of her career. Kristy was 15 years old when the family flew Marty in to see Kristy perform at a local fair, but she immediately recognized the talent and agreed to sign her. Marty had met Joe Galante, Chairman, RCA Label Group, while she was managing LeAnn, so it seemed only natural for Marty to introduce him to her latest country prodigy. Kristy was signed by RCA and put on their Arista label. A promotion deal with Britney Spears was put in place, and it seemed that stardom was imminent. Kristy was 17 when the label put some of their young acts, including Kristy, on hold and then dropped them. Not about to give up her dreams, Kristy moved to Dallas to pursue her career and gain the experience offered by the many venues in the area. Jillian Grace Harper (born December 20, 1985) is an American model. She was Playboy's Playmate of the Month for March 2005. She landed her gig with Playboy after appearing on The Howard Stern Show and posing for test shots, taken by members of the Stern crew. This occurred soon after graduating from high school in the town she grew up in, Washington, Missouri.

She had a memorable presence on the Howard Stern show in 2004 and 2005 (as a topic of conversation and in her appearances/call-ins) largely surrounding the crews correct predictions of their perceived "corruption" of her and her stereotypical fall-from-innocence. The K610im is quite a good phone. I was going to buy an mp3 player and then I realised that I could get 2GB of memory on the K610im so I just upgraded my phone instead. Unfortunately, when I went to buy the 2GB memory stick I was told that it would run down the battery on my phone so I had to settle for a 1GB stick instead.
Despite this I find the all-in-one mobile phone and mp3 player to be very useful and very light and handy to carry when traveling or commuting.
I switched from Nokia. I found it so much easier to use the Sony Ericsson that I will never go back to Nokia.
The camera is fine, for what it is, its not got many megapixels but is a handy alternative to lugging around a bulky camera. I don’t use the camera that much though because the photos are so small.
It comes with bluetooth which is really handy for transferring music files to and from my macbook.
I can read my googlemail and view other mini websites with ease.
All in all its a good, inexpensive, entry-level multimedia phone.

Nokia,there is something in this name.it just casts a spell on you. I am reviewing this phone not because it deserves a review or anything but i feel it is a phone that still deserves a lot of attention.The phone has lots of features although it is an old model.It brings with itself nokia trademark reliability.Handle it the way you like and you can just bet it sure gets better with time.THe phone has a very average camera by moidern standards but it is a descent one.THe keypad of the phone has to be its ultimate usp coz it is not just the design of the keypad that is great but its feel as well.colours that this phone comes in are full of variety which makes it easier to choose a phone of your choice.The phone has GPRS adn infrared which are good options for connectivity and it also has Radio so you can listen to good hep music using the standard headsets.Overall,it is still a great buy for people who are looking for a smart handy phone.

This is an awesome phone, with some great features. For it’s sleek look it comes at a reasonable price, when taken with a contract with the phone company. It has a 2 MP camera with flash and also you can record videos as long as you are using a MicroSD Memory Card. It has internet capability and since I am a facebook junkie I was thrilled that facebook came pre-loaded. Also there is a media player, with standard headset jack. There is built in GPS and integrated Bluetooth wireless. After a little bit of use I have come to love the trackball navigation, however it took a little bit of getting use to. The only negative thing that I have to say about this phone, isn’t even about the phone, it is the lack of documentation that comes with the phone. I would like a full user manual that tells you how to do what you want to do. The user guide that comes with the phone was minimal and even searching on the internet it took time to find instructions on what I wanted.

BATTERY LIFE

The only down-side to this phone. The battery is very ‘touchy’. Some days, it seems to last forever and ever. Other days, your battery will go from full to empty at 5x the normal rate. This is extremely annoying, because you never can be completely sure when your phone battery is going to die, and when you might need it to make an emergency call you might have a dead battery, and therefore be unable to make that call. I would recommend to anyone who requires a phone with great battery life, to instead of completely avoiding the purchase of this phone, to just buy more batteries, or get an extended life battery and use it as your main source of power for the device.

FEATURES

There are several different awesome features which are easily useable on this phone. There are features such as the calendar, which is great for organization, maintaining appointments and setting alarms and important reminders throughout the day. Never forget about anything while using the calendar and its alarm system. I would recommend to anyone who needs to constantly have a source of organization at hand to use this phone because of the awesome calendar system. There are also several other very handy features to have present on the phone with you at all times. One is the calculator. You can easily access the calculator at any time through the tools menu, or from assigning it a hotkey from the settings menu. This is a very convenient tool to have with you on your phone, because the times that you would need a calculator are much more often than you would think. You can use it to calculate tips, do basic math, or even do some scientific calculator functions. I would also recommend this phone to anyone who requires a calculator constantly at their side with full features, but doesn’t like the inconvenience of having to carry around an annoying, unstylish, bulky calculator everywhere you go. Another great feature this phone features is the alarm clock. I wake up every day to the alarm clock on this phone, which can be set to any time, and can be used with any ring tone or sound you have stored on your phone, including sounds you recorded yourself. I would recommend this phone as well, to anyone who has a hard time waking up without an alarm clock, but would like to have a portable and easy to use alarm clock with full features such as snooze and tunes. There are many other programs on this device which make it ultimately portable and convenient, but I have just listed a few of the coolest features on the device, for more information look up a product guide, or simply buy it and check it out! Finally, I would recommend this device to anyone who is interested in carrying tons of applications on their phone, or any information possible in the pocket of their pants, as well as the ability to make and receive calls. Please note that all of the applications on this phone are programmable to a hotkey, making opening all programs much faster and more reliable.

OVERALL SATISFACTION

Overall, this phone beats out most of its competition. It has an awesome amount of features, and is very portable. The features on this phone are very complex, and very portable. The battery life is the main feature of the phone which makes it somewhat annoying, however, this is a minor defect in the product. I wouldn’t let the battery life get to me, unless I was completely annoyed and desperate to make a phone call. I would still recommend this phone to anyone interested in ultimate convenience, easy to place calls, and very awesome organizational features which make the phone worth that much more.

A total of over 2,300,000 (or only 590,712)* blocks of limestone and granite were used in its construction with the average block weighing 2.5 tons and none weighing less than 2 tons. The large blocks used in the ceiling of the King's Chamber weigh as much as 9 tons.

The base of the pyramid covers 13 acres, 568,500 square feet and the length of each side was originally 754 feet, but is now 745 feet.
The original height was 481 feet tall, but is now only 449 feet.

The majority of the outer casing, which was polished limestone, was removed about 600 years ago to help build cities and mosques which created a rough, worn, and step-like appearance.

* According to Socrates G. Taseos, the actual number of stones used to build the Great Pyramid is only 590,712. In his book Back in Time 3104 B.C. to the Great Pyramid- Egyptians Broke Their Backs to Build It- How the Great Pyramid Was Really Built he presents results of his computer calculations. The following is derived from the book mentioned above.

The base measurements of the Great Pyramid are: north - 755.43 ft; south -
756.08 ft; east - 755.88 ft; west - 755.77 ft. These dimensions show no two
sides are identical; however, the distance between the longest and shortest
side is only 7.8 inches.
Each side is oriented almost exactly with the four Cardinal points. The
following being the estimated errors: north side 2'28" south of west; south
side 1'57" south of west; east side 5'30" west of north; and west side 2'30"
west of north.
The four corners were almost perfect right angles: north-east 90degrees 3'
2"; north-west 89 degrees 59'58"; south-east 89 deg 56'27"; and south-west
90 deg 0'33".
When completed, it rose to a height of 481.4 ft., the top 31 feet of which
are now missing. It's four sides incline at an angle of about 51deg. 51 min.
with the ground. At its base, it covers an area of about 13.1 acres. It was
built in 201 stepped tiers, which are visible because the casing stones have
been removed. It rises to the height of a modern 40-story building.
THE BEDROCK AND CORE

The pyramid is built partly upon a solid, large, bedrock core and a platform
of limestone blocks which can be seen at the northern and eastern sides. The
builder of this pyramid was very wise to choose this site because most of
the stones, with the exception of the casing stones, some granite and basalt
stones, could be cut right on the spot and in the nearby quarry. This
practical choice made it possible to reduce considerably the time and
back-breaking labor needed to drag the stones from distant quarries across
the Nile.

The first Step of the pyramid rests on a platform of finely finished
limestone blocks. These blocks are approximately 2.5 ft x 10 ft x 10 ft..
They project beyond the outer edges of the first Step's Casing Stones an
average of 2 feet on all sides. This platform is so flat that the official
survey of the Egyptian Government found that it was less than ½ of an inch
from being level. The removal of several platform stones showed that the
bedrock had been cut and leveled to receive each individual stone, sometimes
as deep as 1 to 2 inches.
On the north side the platform stones have been laid at an irregular angle,
each socket being carefully cut to receive the next stone. One explanation
for this irregularity of stone placement is that these northern platform
stones will have greater resistance to sliding from the downward and
horizontal pressures of the pyramid's face.

The many surveys done on the pyramid proved that the Egyptians located the
sides of the pyramid along the four Cardinal Points with extreme accuracy.
Whether they used the stars, and/or the rising and setting sun, cannot be
determined. One this is certain, that whatever method they used was direct
and very simple.

Once the sand, gravel and loose rocks had been removed, down to the solid
bedrock of the plateau, the whole pyramid site was open-cast quarried into
blocks, leaving a square core for the center of the pyramid (the core is
approximately 412.7 ft square, and rises approx. 46.25 feet high). These
blocks were then stored outside a low wall; made of mortared stone that
surrounds the core (the outside dimensions of the wall are approx. 887.3
feet square). Today there still remains the foundation of this wall on the
north, south and west sides of the pyramid, at an average distance of 65
feet from the outer edge of the base casing stone.

This core gives the pyramid stability from the downward and horizontal
forces that will develop from the superimposed loads of blocks of stones
that are piled up, as the pyramid rises. Also, from the prevailing
north-west winds that exert enormous pressures on the huge areas of the
pyramid's faces, thus increasing these forces further.

Leveling of the entire pyramid site was accomplished by flooding the area
inside the wall with water, leaving just the high spots. These them were cut
down to the level of the surface of the water. Next, some of the water was
released and the high spots again were cut down to the water's surface. This
process was repeated until the entire pyramid site, between the core and the
four walls, was leveled down to the base of the pyramid's platform.
THE CASING STONES

A few of the fine limestone casing blocks remain at the base of the northern
side and show how accurately the stones were dressed and fitted together.
The core masonry, behind the casing stones, consists of large blocks of
local limestone, quarried right on the spot, built around and over the
bedrock core. The size of this core cannot be determined, since it is
completely covered by the pyramid.

The casing stones were of highly polished white limestone, which must have
been a dazzling sight. Unlike marble, which tends to become eroded with time
and weather, limestone becomes harder and more polished.
HOW MANY BLOCKS DID IT ACTUALLY TAKE TO BUILD THE GREAT PYRAMID?

Most books and encyclopedia state that there are 2.3 million blocks of stone
in the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), with no mention of method used to
figure this.

Socrates determined the size and weight of the blocks (a standard block),
and ran a Pascal Computer Program (a mathematical model of all the blocks of
stone needed; written by the author to optimize the sizes and weights of the
stones) to come up with the real number of blocks used. Since the volume of
passageways and internal chambers are very small compared to the high volume
of the pyramid, they are ignored at this time, just as though the pyramid
was built of solid stone blocks with mortared joints.
THE SIZE OF THE BLOCKS

The size of the blocks are based on a chance discovery in 1837 by Howard
Vyse. He found two of the original side casing blocks at the base of the
pyramid, 5 ft x 8 ft x 12 ft, with an angle of 51 degrees, 51 minutes cut on
one of the 12 ft. sides. Each of these stones weighed (5 x 8 x 12)/2000 =
39.9 tons before the face angle was cut. These originally were used for the
side casing stones of Step No. 1, in the Pascal computer program. The sizes
of all the other blocks were scaled from these two original blocks of the
remaining Steps 2 to 201.
THE GREAT PYRAMID'S DIMENSIONS AND THEIR LAYOUT

One acre = 43,560 sq. ft, or 208.71 feet on a side.
For the pyramid's base, length = width = (square root of 13.097144 acres) x
208.71 feet = 755.321 feet. Or 755.321 x 12 = 9063.85 inches.

Height = (755.321 x tangent 51deg 51 min)/2 = 480.783 feet. Or 480.783 x 12
= 5769.403 inches.

For the cap stone base: length = width = (32.18 x 2)/tangent 51deg 51 min =
50.55 inches.

The average size of a pyramid stone = (5 x 8 x 12)
The average side measurement, at the base = 759.3 ft.
The height used was 201 steps high, or 480 feet. (This is minus the height
of the Capstone, which was one piece in itself.

The number reached by the Pascal computer program was 603,728 blocks used.
The solid core takes up the space of 13,016 stones.
So, the actual number of stones used to build the Great Pyramid is 603,728 -
13,016 = 590,712.
This figure is (2,300,000 - 590,712) = 1,709,288 blocks less than the often
published 2.3 million value.
NUMBER OF VARIOUS BLOCKS OF STONE USED TO BUILD THE GREAT PYRAMID

Number of platform blocks used (2.5 ft x 10 ft square), equals (759.3 x
759.3(pyramid base)) - (412.7 x 412.7(core base))/(10 x 10(platform block
base)) = 4,062.

Number of CORNER Casing stones where the pyramid faces meet equals 201 steps
x 4 sides = 804.

Number of side casing stones equals ((244 x 127) + 8,953) = 39,941.

Due to Bedrock Core, in the center of Step 1 through 10, the total number of
blocks needed is reduced by 13,016.
THE NUMBER OF ALL BLOCKS BEHIND THE CASING STONES EQUALS

(590,712 - 804 - 39,941) = 549,967.
PLACING THE BLOCKS

The average number of blocks that have to be placed each day equals (590,712
blocks)/(20years x 364.25 days) = 81 blocks per day.

If 10 crews of 300 men work on each of the four sides of the pyramid, then
the totals of 40 crews and 12,000 men will be needed. Each of the crews will
be responsible to place 81/40 = 2 blocks per day.

The workload passes through three phases of decreasing difficulty, which are
determined by the weights of the heaviest blocks:
Steps 1 through 21 (60.59 to 27.24 tons)
Steps 22 through 136 (17.66 to 6.44 tons)
Steps 127 through 201 (3.05 to 2.63 tons)

As the weight of the blocks decrease, Step to Step, the sizes of the drag
crews will decrease. However, when this happens, the number of blocks needed
to be dragged each day can be reduced because one large block can be dragged
and cut into several smaller blocks that are needed.

As the pyramid rises there is less space for the crews to work in and fewer
block to be placed. In other words, the number of workers that will be
needed depends on three factors of: weight of blocks, number of blocks to be
placed, and the working space available.

Cara buka password MemoryCard:

Untuk Nokia 3650, Nokia 6600 and Nokia N-Gage.

* Pertama install FExplorer atau SeleQ, program file manager buat masuk ke folder system. Kalo dah ada, ga usah install lg.

* Buka FExplorer/SeleQ, masuk ke c:\system folder. Disitu ada file, judulnya mmcstore.

* Ganti nama tsb menjadi mmcstore.txt dan buka. Password MMC tertulis disitu.
