Every year, 5 February comes and we observe Kashmir Solidarity Day as a national holiday. It is a day when we promise to our Kashmiri brotherhood that one day they will be free from Indian administration and will get the right to vote. And we always try to remember our promise by protesting on Broadcasting Channels, Social Media, Internet Sources, Books, Newspapers, Seminars, and so on. We hope as Pakistani that one day will come, and Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK, Jammu & Kashmir) will be free to cast their vote and will be free from extra-ordinary tortures from the administration. Is It Worth To Waste

A few days ago, I have received an SMS from PTA that I must approve my phone via sending SMS to get approval and receive a message of payable tax on the phone. At that time, I rushed to the nearest franchise retailer to get a solution. But when they saw my phone they advised me to keep this phone as a souvenir. Paying Tax is not a bad thing, but my question is. "Is it worth paying or I have to gift to govt".

Today, I suddenly notice that my phone has been locked. Now I can use it as a paperweight. ........

I have got this phone from scrap bazaar located at Committee Chowk, Rawalpindi where you can buy junk items. It was my luck that this phone was working and I have bought it at the very lowest price. I was trying to use a cheap phone to be safe from phone snatchers. But I never thought that this old "Sony Ericsson W995" phone is still worth it.

I don't know why there are so many street hawkers are selling mobile phones on the footpath of Raja Bazaar. There are no authorized pawn shops from where you can buy used items at the lowest price while new ones are out of reach. At last, I can say that thanks for saving my life from 2G mobile radiation.

Golden Days of Radio

Today, I was traveling in local transport and wondering about a passenger next to me. He was using and holding in his hand an old mobile phone. He was pretending to others who were enjoying watching videos on their android phones. At then I have noticed that he is listening to the radio on his old phone. I really shocked that there is a big community that still likes to listen to the radio. There I remembered that I was also fond of using the radio daily, in my car, at my home, etc. It was a golden period in Pakistan when people were having a radio to listen live commentary of Cricket & Hockey matches. Some are addicted to tune their radio for news bulletin. Women and girls were used to listen Pakistani film songs. Families have enjoyed many dramas presented by legendary artists. Even in 90's when drivers were used to the voices of dj (Disk-Jockey) who repeat their signature line which was "Assalam-o-Alaikum Pakistan". That was a big attraction for youngsters to call live and gossip with live presentator.

I don't know why people have changed their media of entertainment. But I still feel the importance of radio box (radio gadgets) and radio frequency, which has played a major role in past. HAM radio receivers are one of the best creation ever made. Where these radio users are a unique community, hobbyist and professionals. FM Broadcasting is also very famous and popular nowadays. Radio exist in our life with full responsibility and using updated technology. But I want to ask people why they are possessed by androids and phones, why they are quitting from other technologies. Please give a little time to all your gadgets and don't give up books reading, radio, etc which is going to be part of our heritage culture.

Shortage of Water Resources

Drinking-Water is the most essential need for life. Historians talk about the origins of towns and cities that how it came into being. People who travel and seek resources like water, wood, stones, fruit, and habitat to live. More people visit them and they start to live altogether which converts that tribe into a town and then a city. As the population is growing and cities are spreading their wings. They are using water not only for drinking, but they are also using it for other purposes. The big cities in Pakistan (like Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi/Islamabad) is growing faster. Where they are building new townships to accommodate more people. All are suffering from shortages of resources, where water is the main big problem.

People who own land and they want to construct their house or commercial. They need to bore well in their land to get plenty of water, which they can use till the end. I have observed that they spoil water by car washing and others. Housing societies are not focusing on main water storage and supply. People think that their water is their property. They are unaware of the underground status of water as the main source.

Plantation: We have to plant more for a green environment.
Sewerage: shouldn't be a leak to avoid contamination.

Today's topic is about people who make money by using SMS, Calls, Emails to trap us. Such activities are fraud where they find what trends are popular to make content on it. For example, few cellular phone carriers are working in Pakistan. We daily receive many SMS, where some are from scammers who are trying to lure us. We get SMS from unknown numbers to withdraw funds from the BISP account, only if we call on a given mobile number. Some are representing game shows on private TV channels to collect prizes. Sometimes they call you to ask about your bank account details. There are plenty of methods to fool us, and I am sure that most of us will be losing money.

Some people always like to use a shortcut in their life to get success, where they lead to wrong directions. Some groups on social media are also offering to work at home. Their profiles are fake and never reply to your comments. They charge you fees and convince you that company is legit. I received emails, that there was a heavy amount in someone's bank account, who is dead now and no one is here to claim. This money can be yours if you reply back and sign an agreement with the sender. Usually, men get SMS from unknown numbers represents girl needs money. I demand that the concerned Department should take prior action to stop scamming now.

Historical Buildings in Rawalpindi

Yesterday, I was wandering on the streets of old and main Rawalpindi where I was looking at the shops and buildings. At that time, I have realized that there are so many old buildings in the city which are a big asset of Pakistan. We should provide historical background about such historical buildings which can help in tourism. But when I have reached to know about the route plan of sightseeing Tourist double-decker bus service which has been started recently, that is focusing on Islamabad only. Actually, there is always crowded traffic on the Murree road and in surroundings where you can find ruins belongs to the time before the Indo-Pak partition. There are also some old buildings adjacent to the prohibited area where no visitors are allowed to get pictures of it. I want to point out the 'Heritage Tourism'.

As we have observed that there is always traffic jam problem on daily basis, but we should manage to make these historical places a tourist attraction. This would also help to build history records on websites as information for upcoming generations and it will help in generating attraction in tourism. Not only on Rawalpindi, but there is also a need for all major and old cities to have such tourist buses to attract worth seeing places as well as historical places. There is one live example that is coming into my mind that well-renowned 'Lal Haveli' belongs to Federal Minister Mr. Shaikh Rashid Ahmad, who is a politician and a loving person of residents of Rawalpindi City, that Lal Haveli is almost a big attraction among other old structures and temples.

Writings on the Wall

After a long time, I am writing this blog on seeing the wrong side of the advertisement. As many of us have observed that some local businesses have used chalking on the wall (in other words we call it 'Paint'). It was started when people of the sub-continent have used this technique against British rule as political statements and for movements related to liberty. After the independence of both countries (Pakistan & India), they have applied this old-fashioned technique for political reasons. This art culture is also producing ugliness in street views. It should STOP now or there should be a big simple pylon, only for simple posters.

I have seen on the roads of Rawalpindi City that on all the structures like overhead bridges, bus stands, empty plots, on the walls of private buildings, and even on decoration on the roadsides. Youngsters who do this job as pasting on the wall, they do such activities at midnight when nobody can stop them. In this business, who is responsible and which government authorities should notice and take appropriate actions against them. I would like to express my opinion, that firstly all political parties have to avoid such decorative arrangements for their political processions and secondly, all concerned businesses owners have to limit their advertisement campaign on specified places. We all have to take responsibility to keep our cities clean and make our walls worth seeing.

Finally, this is the age of Information Technology (IT) where all businesses are using the internet and publishing their advertisement on their websites. Some are promoting their business offers on social media. It is a good practice which can save extraordinary utilization of papers as posters and get reach from all over the world. Precautionary Measures

'NO ENTRY, WITHOUT MASK'

Everywhere I go, I saw this signage printed and pasted on the front door and window of all local shops, offices, and businesses. It is s good thing that reminded us to wear a mask to prevent from all these viruses. But when I enter those premises, I usually shocked to see that most hosts are not caring to cover their faces, and they treat us like maybe we are aliens from another planet or maybe we may harm them with infectious diseases. I want to address to all my country fellow that it is not only for customers or visitors, it is also implemented on the shopkeeper, owner, and host of those businesses. I have earned certificates by doing courses on COVID19 and learned from the online course of diploma in Food Safety, that wearing a mask and hand sanitization is not enough, there is a need to clean and sanitize touched areas like door handles, stair railings, table, chairs, even office stationery is being used by different people.

Many people have a different argument about COVID19, but I request you all that despite corona, we should protect ourselves especially in public places, by taking these precautionary measures, which are mentioned below:

1. Wear Mask (properly covering your nose and mouth) all the time in public.

2. Better to wash hands (properly taking all steps) with soap and water.

3. Dry Hands by waving or by using Tissue papers, and don't touch doubtful touched items.

4. Use disposable gloves (if needed)

5. Try to use an elbow to cover your nose when sneezing, and cover your mouth when cough.

6. Drink clean and mildly warm water.

7. Avoid unnecessary outing (especially youngsters who take a bike to ride and smoke secretly from family). It is advisable to STAY at HOME ( Learn online classes to develop their skills)

8. Spitting everywhere, smoking and eating unhealthy chips, and drinking energy drinks can't make you a responsible citizen. It is destroying your health, wasting your time and money.

9. Stop Polluting your environment (including Air, Noise, Water).

10. Clean the surfaces with tissue and chlorine mixed in water solution.

STAY SAFE, STAY HEALTHY, STAY AT HOME!

Why do people get addicted?

Once upon a time, I was inspired by my adults and started smoking by copying them. In the beginning, it was started from one cigarette once a while then in the company of friends, started to participate by showing, then I have started to inhale deeply, and then it goes on. That was the start of addiction, where I was unaware of results that what will happen to me in near future. After 26 years, I had a heart attack, that was too severe to admit me to a hospital for angiography. Where doctors had diagnosed that my 4 valves of the heart are blocked and it is better to went through Heart By-Pass surgery (aka CABG).

This question always comes to my mind that 'Why do people get addicted? Why we can't fight with anxiety without these addictive things? Why most people are used to it and think it is a part of our society?

It has been observed that all over Pakistan, the majority of people are tending to buy Cigarettes, Nas (Naswar), Betel Leaves (Paan), Areca Nut, or Betel Nut (Chhaliya), Beeri, Supari, and Halooka (Sheesha). There are also some worst items which I think are the next stage of addiction which we know as drugs. It is a long story that shows us that where from first tobacco leaves have discovered to smoke. I shall post in another blog related to it.

Now, I want to request my country fellow that "LIFE IS PRECIOUS" so take care of your life and "AVOID NICOTINE". Try to face reality, your daily base problems, and your tension. All these things are killing you inside, in other words, you are committing suicide. Think about your families and save this money for healthy food. ENJOY YOUR LIFE.

HIGH Prices of Food items

It has been observed that in the local market of Pakistan, when we go shopping to buy daily use grocery items, vegetables, and fruits, dairy, and poultry products, even cleaning and sanitizing items are at the highest prices. It is getting worse condition day by day. When we query about the availability of items and question about prices, they just ignore our presence and pay attention to only who are willing to pay.

My simple question is, to whom we ask?

Where we should report?

Who will provide us a solution?

When this corruption will end?

When concern departments will take legal actions? & a lot more...

I feel sorry, because it doesn't affect rich families, only poor families, daily wagers, job-less, and the families run on funds suffer from high prices. They are un-educated they need tomatoes to cook their meal and eggs to feed their children. If someone asks them about economics and inflation rate or such difficult words they can't answer you because they need a job to feed their families well.

PLEASE RAISE YOUR VOICE!

Waste Problems of Big Cities

As the World's population is growing and the problems of big cities are raising questions as to maintain urban life should be maintained and looks good ever. One of the common problems is the rising ratio of disposing of waste which I have observed in my city where people from outside towns are unaware to dispose properly of their waste. They have moved their families from villages to get a job here, but they don't know to throw and spit on the proper place. Even the visitors from other places when they enter the city they buy disposable food items for their family and while driving the throw shopper bags and other trash out of a window on the road, which causes pollution and unhealthy environment.

WE HAVE TO CHANGE OURSELVES, by changing our daily habits and follow the city rules.

Stay healthy, use precautionary measures, and educate others by stopping them.
