The second part in our Basic Pattern series is now uploaded on our YouTube channel! In this tutorial, we show you how to add darts to the pattern that we made in Part One. This gives you the ability to customize the fit of the clothing you will be sewing from your pattern!

We're very excited to announce that the next video in our tutorial series is now available to watch on YouTube! How to Make a Basic Pattern, Part One, will walk you through the steps for drawing your own pattern which can be adapted to be used for skirts, dresses, shirts, and more. You will need to have filled out the Basic Measurements chart (for tips on how to take the measurements, watch our first video).

We will be releasing Part Two very soon so stay tuned. In the next video, we'll show you how to add darts to the pattern to really customize the shape and give you the most flattering fit for any clothing you make. We've been hard at work getting our next videos ready in our Basic Pattern series! We're going to have an updated opening, longer videos, and all the tips and tricks you will need to create your own pattern from the measurements we took in the first video.

This pattern can be used for dresses, blouses, and skirts, and will prove to be invaluable in creating your own clothing! Our next videos will be a two-part tutorial. First, we'll show you how to draw the pattern, then in the follow-up video, we will demonstrate how to add darts and gathers to your pattern to ensure the clothing fits perfectly.

Everyone's body shape is unique, so why should you have to settle for a one-size-fits-all pattern?! It may seem a daunting task, but we'll show you where to start and walk you through each step. In no time, you'll have the confidence to show you family and friends what you sewed and designed on your own!

This is the essential first step for any type of pattern making or clothing design. Once you have these measurements, you'll be able to create a custom pattern, which we'll be showing how to do in our next video, coming soon!
