Last
Saturday I hosted a 31 party. My
consultant is so outgoing and fun to be around.
For this I decided to try a few new recipes I found on Pinterest. Some of it went well and others did not. Since I had never made them before and didn’t
give myself time to make something else if it failed my guests got what I
got. The first thing I made was
Mimosas, this wasn’t on Pinterest, but I took Pineapple Orange Juice and mixed
it with Champagne. It went over well.

I tried to
make a Tiffany Punch, it was a pretty blue colored punch that sounded like it
tasted really well. It called for blue punch
and Lemonade. Simple right?...wrong! So apparently I was supposed to use the Blue Hawaiian
Punch that comes in the big bottle in the juice aisle. I used the Kool-Aid punch in the blue
packet. Apparently that’s a red punch
and it taste kind of bland and adding the lemonade didn’t make it any better.

http://www.eatdrinkpretty.com/2010/08/real-party-sweetest-thing-baby-shower.html

I also make
a Caprese Dip. It was really easy to
make. I took two logs of fresh smoked
mozzarella and cut it into cubes then took one package of cherry tomatoes and
cut them in half. I just through it on
top of the cheese. Then cut up some
fresh basil from my garden and dumped in on top. I cooked it in the oven at 350 for about 20
minutes. Just until the cheese is
completely melted and bubbly. I served
it with some fresh French bread. I loved
it. Although, I learned only me and my
mom will eat tomatoes and my mom doesn’t like smoked cheeses, so I was the only
one that actual ate any of it. It was
amazing!!

http://www.thefoodgospelaccordingtoruth.com/2012/04/caprese-dip.html

I then make
a smore’s dip! Amazing!!! Just a tub of marshmallow fluff, a can of
sweet condensed milk, and a package of milk chocolate chips. I wanted it to stay warm and melted so I put
it into my fondue pot and kept it on low.
It was a huge hit. Everyone loved
it. I served it with graham crackers.

http://oneordinaryday.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/smores-dip/

I also make
some no bake bars. The Reese’s Peanut
Butter Bars where really good. It was
super simple melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, powered sugar, and peanut
butter all mixed together and pressed into the bottom. Then chocolate chips and peanut butter melted
and mixed together and spread over the top.
I just popped it into the freezer for about an hour and then into the fridge
until everyone arrived. They went over
really well.

http://bakerlady.wordpress.com/2012/01/16/reeses-peanut-butter-bars/

The last and
final thing I made was Pizza Dip.
Everyone loved it, but me. I just
don’t care for it for some reason. It’s
very simple. Cream cheese, sour cream,
mayonnaise mixed and put at bottom of pan.
Top with mozzarella and parmesan, then pizza sauce. Then top with more mozzarella and parmesan and
pizza toppings. I did just peperoni with
olives on the side. It was almost gone
when everyone left, but I just didn’t like it as much myself.

I added all
the recipes for you so you can easily copy and print them. I hate it when I find a recipe I want to try
and it’s all broken up and impossibly difficult to print out.

Let me know
what new thing you have tried recently and it you ever tried a new recipe just
to find no one likes it.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars
(from Let’s Dish)

Ingredients
1 cup butter melted
2 cups graham cracker crumbs (use the boxed kind, or grind them in a food
processor. Tiny granules.)
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 cup + 4 tablespoons peanut butter
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions
In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs,
confectioners’ sugar, and 1 cup peanut butter until well blended. Press evenly
into the bottom of an ungreased 9×13 inch pan. In a metal bowl over simmering
water, or in the microwave, melt the chocolate chips with the peanut butter,

Hi everyone,

As you have noticed I’ve just started blogging. I’m really enjoying it. I thought after a few blogs I would take some
time to tell you a little about me. I
first opened my blog for a scholarship.
I needed to blog about a specific topic in order to qualify for the
scholarship. Then I was introduced to
Pinterest by a friend. I fell in love with
it. I think it’s all I do. I <s>waste </s>spend so much time on there
finding things that I want to try.

It started with quotes, moved to recipes, and then to gift
ideas. I found all kinds of cheap, fun,
cute gift ideas. I have used many of
them. After loving that so much I started
with some of the crafts. My first thing
was homemade fabric softener. You can
find the recipe I use here. I felt like I
had accomplished something when it saved us so much money and it smells
wonderful. Then I started finding all
kinds of things that I wanted to try. I started
thinking that I wanted to talk about it.
My husband sure doesn’t want to hear about it…lol. He’s getting bored of me showing him my ideas
and things I have tried out.

I’m 23 years old. I’ve been married for 5 years. My husband and I don’t currently have any children, but we do have two cats. I’m a full-time nanny, so you will still see many children crafts over time. I also just received my bachelors in applied management. My plan is to move into a career in Human Research.

I’m really interested in your suggestions and thoughts. I’ve really just doing this because I enjoy
it, but I would love for you to be able to get something out of it.

She had this great idea about taking shipping boxes and lining them with fabric. I thought it would be a cute idea and would save me tons of money. I am a box junkie, I buy one for everything and for at least $10 a pop it starts to really add up. I spent $3 on fabric at Walmart. I didn't think to take pictures of my own before so I added one from Mandy's blog. I also had some let over fabric so I put updated my over the toilet cabinet also. I think it turned out great let me know what you think.
You can find her post here.

I'm really excited to try this recipe and let you guys know how it works for me.

Dishwasher Detergent ingredients:
1 box Borax (4lbs 12 oz or 76 oz ) (2.15 kg) found in the detergent isle
1 box Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda (55 oz or 3 lbs 7 oz) found in the detergent isle
24 packages of unsweetened lemonade drink mix, like kool-aid. (**Note: lemonade will stain soap dispenser yellow, another option would be to use citric acid instead of lemonade. You can usually find citric acid in the canning isle )
3 cups Epsom Salt

Lemi Shine rinse aid (this recipe does not work very well without it) You can find Lemi Shine in the dishwasher detergent isle at just about any store. You can also use vinegar as a rinse aid. If your dishes are coming out with spots on them that means you do need a rinse aid.

My favorite presidential candidate is President Barack
Obama. I voted for President Obama the
first time and will be more than happy to vote for him again. As a student, I am very aware of the hardship
that student loan debt has caused current graduates. I believe that hiver education should not be
a luxury and should be affordable to everyone and that is what President Obama
believes in.

Currently the average student relying on student loans
graduate with an average of $25,000 in debt.
My husband and I are both full-time students. I have been in school for six years and my
husband is on his second degree. We have
a lot of student loan debt between the two of us and without President Obama;
we may not be able to have the future we went to college for.

My husband and I personally were led astray by trusted adult
on our path to funding our college education.
This caused us to have a lot of personal student loans and my husband to
graduate with a degree he didn’t enjoy. After
such a hard lesson in life, my husband and I changed our paths. We learned a lot more about grants, federal
loan, and scholarships.

My husband comes from a middle-class family and I come from
a low-middle-class family. My parents do
not have the finances or the ability to help pay for college or help me with my
student loans. So paying for school is
something that has been very hard for my husband and I. President Obama has my concerns and the
concerns of other students like me in mind.
He feels that education should be affordable and not an expensive
privilege. He understands that Stafford
Loans help fill the gaps after scholarships and grants. President Obama’s student loan reform means
that I will be able to pay off my loans within a shorter amount of time.
