Xiaomi Raising Over $1 Billion

Xiaomi is fast becoming the most interesting smartphone maker in the world, already the third largest smartphone seller with 19 million units sold this year. Even with the millions of smartphone sales, Xiaomi is still looking for private funding, instead of making its company publicly available on the stock market.

In a recent round of funding, Xiaomi apparently raised over $1 billion, valued at $45 billion. This is a huge valuation, $10 billion more than the previous round of funding around the same time last year.

2014 has been an incredible year for Xiaomi, hitting 221 percent more sales year-on-year. The Chinese phone maker has also branched out to South-East Asia, Brazil, Mexico and India, spreading its reach to millions more customers.

The surge in sales has mostly come from Mainland China, although pockets of South-East Asia and India have provided more than 1 million sales, showing the interest in Xiaomi outside of the Chinese borders. Xiaomi intends to keep moving into markets in 2015, alongside spending more on research and development, smart home and mobile devices. Xiaomi is projecting 40 million sales in 2015, double the amount sold in 2014.

It is still unclear how much profit Xiaomi is making, with its low-price high-tech devices. When questioned, Xiaomi says it makes profit through software and services, but it is unclear if the company is running at an operating loss.

Xiaomi does have the U.S. as a target goal for 2015, along with several European countries. It might not be long before Xiaomi becomes a household name, similar to Apple and Samsung.

Awalnya, saya iseng nyari bisnis pulsa yang mudah dan murah di google. Eh…ketemu dengan situs ini kios-pulsa.com. Selain tertarik dengan murahnya harga pulsa yang bisa dipake buat sendiri, bisa juga buat dijual ke orang lain atau untuk ngisi nomor temen, itung-itung buat promosi. karena sering saya saat lagi ikut pelatihan atau diklat ketemu teman yang kerepotan mau isi nomor handphonenya, nggak tau kounter terdekat pula. IDM tidak kompatibel di firefox terbaru?

Baru baru ini telah dirilis firefox dengan versi terbaru yaitu versi 5. Di versi yang terbaru ini saya mendapati banyak sekali add-ons firefox yang saya install dan berjalan di versi firefox sebelumnya, namun setelah saya melakukan update firefox ke versi 5 ternyata banyak add-ons yang tidak kopatibel. Salah satu add-ons firefox yang paling sering saya gunakan adalah add-ons IDM (Internet Download Manager) yang juga tidak bisa digunakan (incomportable) di firefox 5, otomatis IDM pun tidak bekerja secara normal. Nah, untuk menyiasati hal ini apabila terjadi, kita perlu meng-update add-ons IDM nya ke versi 7.3.1. Biasanya add-ons ini tidak menupdate secara otomatis jadi kita harus melakukan update secara manual. Berikut ini langkah yang bisa dilakaukan untuk mengupdate add-ons IDM di firefox anda:

Download add-ons IDM terbaru untuk firefox 5. Bisa dapatkan disini atau disini lalu ekstrak.

Buka Firefox 5.

Tekan Ctrl+O.

Akan muncul kotak dialog, arahkan ke file yang sudah diekstrak.

Tekan Enter atau Open.

Selesai, IDM siap digunakan

Jika IDM masih belum bisa digunakan berarti add-on harus diaktifkan secara manual. Silahkan buka Add-ons Manager dan cari IDM CC 7.3.1, kemudian klik enable disamping add-on itu. Biasanya ada perintah Restart Firefox, silahkan restart firefox Anda. IDM kembali berkerja normal kembali.

Hal.dll can become damaged, corrupted or deleted for a number of reasons and is usually brought to your attention by the “missing or corrupt hal.dll” error message. Follow these easy steps to restore the damaged/corrupted or missing hal.dll file from the Windows XP CD using the Recovery Console.

Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: Restoring hal.dll from the Windows XP CD usually takes less than 15 minutes

Here’s How:

Enter Windows XP Recovery Console.
When you reach the command line prompt (detailed in Step 6 in the link above), type the following and then press Enter: expand d:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll. Using the expand command as shown above, d represents the drive letter assigned to the optical drive that your Windows XP CD is currently in. While this is most often d, your system could assign a different letter. Also, c:\windows represents the drive and folder that Windows XP is currently installed on. Again, this is most often the case but your system could be different.
If you’re prompted to overwrite the file, press Y.
Take out the Windows XP CD, type exit and then press Enter to restart your PC.

Assuming that a missing or corrupt hal.dll file was your only issue, Windows XP should now start normally.

Tips:
If you suspect that the hal.dll file is not being expanded properly in Step 2 above, try dropping hal.dll from the end of the command so the exact command would look like this: expand d:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\ Some people have found better luck doing it this way

Bismillah, pengetahuan dan ilmu akan bertambah ketika kita mau belajar dari sebuah pengalaman, baik itu pengalaman yang pait maupun pengalaman manis, makanya ada pepatah "The Experience is the best Teacher" pengalaman adalah guru yang terbaik. Seperti biasanya saat menemui PC yang rusak, missing, system corrupt dst, cara cepat ya langsung format dan install ulang, tapi lain halnya kali ini, PC dirumah rusak, muncul peringatan bahwa windows missing jadi gak bisa ngeload windows, pikiran cepat biasanya format install ulang PC, tapi kepikiran juga, software aplikasi yang sudah terinstall sudah buanyak banget, so mending cari jalan keluar lain saja dech, soalnya pada waktu yang lalu sudah pernah baca di artikel tetangga, ada trik Repair Windows Xp Tanpa Install Ulang, berburu tanya si mbah google dan akhirnya ketemu juga.

Berikut beberapa tips dan triknya, semoga bermanfaat:

NTOSKRNL Rusak atau Hilang (Missing or Corrupt)

Jika Anda mendapati pesan error bahwa “NTOSKRNL not found” / NTOSKRNL tak ditemukan, lakukan:

Masukkan CD Windows XP dan booting dari CD tersebut.
Pada saat muncul opsi R=Repair yang pertama, tekan tombol R.
Tekan angka sesuai dengan lokasi instalasi Windows yang ingin diperbaiki yang sesuai. Biasanya angka 1
Pindahlah ke drive CD Drive Anda berada. Tulis: CD i386
Tulis: expand ntkrnlmp.ex_ C:\Windows\System32\ntoskrnl.exe
Jika Windows XP Anda terinstal di tempat lain, maka ubahlah sesuai dengan lokasinya.
Keluarkan CD Anda dan ketikkan EXIT
Selesai

HAL.DLL Rusak atau Hilang (Missing or Corrupt)

Jika Anda mendapatkan error berkenaan dengan rusak atau hilangnya file hal.dll, ada kemungkinan
file BOOT.INI mengalami salah konfigurasi (misconfigured).
Masukkan CD Windows XP dan booting dari CD tersebut.
Pada saat muncul opsi R=Repair yang pertama, tekan tombol R.
Tekan angka sesuai dengan lokasi instalasi Windows yang ingin diperbaiki yang sesuai. Biasanya angka 1
Tulis: bootcfg /list
Menampilkn isi/masukan pada file BOOT.INI saat ini
Tulis: bootcfg /rebuild Memperbaiki konfigurasi dari file BOOT.INI
Keluarkan CD Anda dan ketikkan EXIT

Direktori \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG rusak atau hilang
Jika Anda mendapatkan error dengan tulisan :

“Windows could not start because the following files is missing or corrupt
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM or \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SOFTWARE”

Masukkan CD Windows XP dan booting dari CD tersebut.
Pada saat muncul opsi R=Repair yang pertama, tekan tombol R.
Tekan angka sesuai dengan lokasi instalasi Windows yang ingin diperbaiki yang sesuai. Biasanya angka 1
Masukkan password administrator jika diperlukan.
Kemudian masuk ke c:\windows\system32\config dengan cara Tulis: cd\windows\system32\config
Copy system bila yang rusak system dengan cara ketik: copy\windows\repair\system
Copy software bila yang rusak bagian software dengan cara ketik: copy\windows\repair\software
Tekan huruf y apabila ada pertanyaan mereplace file system yang lama.
Ketik Exit dan keluarkan CD Anda.

NTLDR atau NTDETECT.COM tak ditemukan (NTLDR or NTDETECT.COM Not Found)

Jika Anda mendapati error bahwa NTLDR tak ditemukan saat booting:

1. Untuk partisi tipe FAT

Silakan Anda melakukan booting dari disket Win98 Anda dan salinlah file NTLDR atau NTDETECT.COM
dari direktori i386 ke drive induk/akar (root) C:\

2. Untuk partisi tipe NTFS

Masukkan CD Windows XP dan booting dari CD tersebut.
Pada saat muncul opsi R=Repair yang pertama, tekan tombol R.
Tekan angka sesuai dengan lokasi instalasi Windows yang ingin diperbaiki yang sesuai. Biasanya angka 1
Masukkan password administrator jika diperlukan.
Masukkan perintah berikut, dimana X: adalah alamat drive dari CD ROM Anda (Sesuaikan!).
Tulis: COPY X:\i386\NTLDR C\:
Tulis: COPY X:\i386\NTDETECT.COM C:\
Keluarkan CD Anda dan ketikkan EXIT

pernah ngalamin tiba-tiba YM ngeblank alias tidak muncul text baik yang kita tulis maupun yang di kirim oleh lawan chat kita? saya pernah, dan lumayan bingung juga mesti di apain, di uninstal and instal ulang udah tapi masih juga nggak beres. akhirnya coba jalan-jalan bareng mbah gugel akhirnya di ajak mampir ke rumah babeh terus di kasih mantra seperti ini.

download dulu file scripten.exe Microsoft atau di sini
setelah di download, jalankan file tersebut
jangan lupa non-aktifkan dulu YM nya.

Apple marries iPad with laptops in new MacBook Air

Apple is cashing in on the popularity of its iPhone and iPad to boost demand for its oldest product, the Macintosh. The company announced that its popular app store for the iPhone and the iPad would soon be coming to its laptops. It also launched a revamped MacBook Air at an event at its headquarters.
The computer is seen as a marriage of what Apple has learned from desktop computing and mobile devices. Like the iPad, the Air will have no hard drive and rely on flash memory.

"It's like nothing we've ever created before," said Apple boss Steve Jobs.

"We see these as the next generation of MacBooks. We think all notebooks are going to be like this one day. We've been inspired by some of the work we have done on iOS and want to bring them back to the Mac," said Mr Jobs.
Analysts said the laptop sends out a clear signal to the industry.
"This is a strong reminder to everyone out there that Apple is still in the PC business," said Michael Gartenberg, research director with Gartner.
"They are still making a lot of money in the PC business and if anyone thinks they are getting out of that business given the money they are making they are very mistaken."
On sale The new MacBook Air is 0.11 inches thick at its thinnest point. Apple said the computer's battery life lets users surf the web for seven hours. In standby mode, the battery can last 30 days.

The first Macintosh made its debut on 24 January 1984

In an overview, Apple said the Macintosh accounted for a third of the company's revenue or $22bn in the fiscal year that has just ended.
They sold 13.7 million Macs last year, which is three times the sales they had in 2005. The firm also cited research figures that showed Apple now controls 20.7% of the US consumer market and accounts for one in every five computers sold.
"The Mac company, if it were a standalone company, and we have no plans to do that, would be 110 on the Fortune 500 list," said Tim Cook, Apple's chief technology officer.
Other features Apple also unveiled a new version of the Macintosh operating system, called Lion, to be released next summer.
The new OS builds on some of the features used in the firm's iOS, which is currently used to power iPhones and iPads.
"Lion brings many of the best ideas from the iPad back to the Mac, plus some fresh new ones," said Mr Jobs.
The company revealed that Macs will soon have an application store, mirroring the one that exists for its mobile devices.
A feature called launchpad will make it easy to organise and launch apps in the new version of the operating system. The App Store will be added to Macs, as a download, within 90 days.
FaceTime, which debuted on the iPhone 4 this summer, will also bring video-chatting to Macs.
Apple also updated its flagship software suite iLife. The new edition includes updates to iPhotos, iMovie, GarageBand, iDVD and iWeb.
The new iPhoto integrates more deeply with social networks, such as Facebook, allowing people to upload pictures directly from the software, as well as see comments that people have made on their photos.

UK net is "not ready" for future

The UK is slowly climbing up the broadband world rankings, but is still not "ready for tomorrow," according to a global study of net services.
The annual report, commissioned by network giant Cisco, looks at how well countries are doing in terms of both quality and penetration of net services.
The UK is now ranked 18th out of 72 countries, up from 25th place last year.
South Korea is once again ranked first.
The annual study, conducted by the University of Oxford's Said Business School and the University of Oviedo in Spain looks at a range of factors, including both the number of homes to have broadband and the quality of the services.
Quality, for the purposes of the study, encompasses the speed of the connection and the latency - the amount of time it takes data to arrive at a machine.

It put 14countries in the elite category of being ready for the "applications of tomorrow", including the obvious; Korea, Japan and Sweden and the less obvious; Latvia, Bulgaria and Portugal.

In 2008, when the first study was commissioned, only one country - Japan - was judged ready for tomorrow.
The applications ascribed to tomorrow's internet include high definition internet TV and high-quality video communications.
The report found that such applications would require an average download speed of 11Mbps and an upload speed of 5Mbps.
The average global upload speed currently is just 1.7Mbps.
In this year's report the UK is categorised as "comfortably enjoying today's applications", alongside 19 others including the USA, France, Canada, Greece and Poland.
A further 19 countries - including Vietnam, Egypt, China and India, are characterised as being "below today's application threshold" while five countries - Algeria, Peru, Nigeria, Kenya and Angola - are viewed as having only the most basic of services.

The report finds that average broadband speeds in the UK now stand at 6.4Mbps (megabits per second), which is more than double that in 2008, when the first report was compiled.

It is also above the global average of 5.9Mbps.
"The UK is not on average ready for tomorrow but there has been significant improvements in the last two years," said Fernando Gil de Bernabe, a senior director at Cisco.
Mr de Bernabe said the UK was likely to experience a "step-change" in its broadband footprint over the next 12 months, because of increased fibre optic roll-outs from BT and extensions of Virgin Media's cable network.
"Where similar fibre roll-outs have happened the download speeds improved by 50 or 60% in just one year," he said.
Those countries which are categorised as ready for tomorrow in the report have one thing in common, according to Mr de Bernabe.
"There is a clear digital strategy. These countries have placed a bet on broadband and think it will have the same impact on their economies as the infrastructures of the past. They want a society that is based on knowledge," he said.
The UK government has ambitions to be the best broadband economy in Europe by 2015, although it has so far only committed to the rollout of basic 2Mbps broadband by that date.
That decision could mean the UK falls foul of European legislation. The European Union wants member states to provide citizens with a minimum of 30Mbps broadband by 2020, with all nations offering basic broadband - generally regarded as 2Mbps - for all by 2013.
Mr de Bernabe said the UK needed to put its pledge into practise.
"What I hear repeatedly is the question about who is going to pay for it. The leadership countries aren't asking those questions," he said.

Foursquare, Gowalla, and Facebook Places: Practical Uses for Location-Based Services

Foursquare (for Android or iPhone) and Gowalla (for Android or iPhone) were built around location, using GPS, Wi-Fi, and IP address to place us on a map.
These apps then let users â€œcheck inâ€
But the novelty of checking in and winning prizes has worn off. Location-aware services must evolve to offer truly useful and valuable services to users, and they will--or they'll perish. Still, even as they exist today, location-aware apps can be used in practical ways to help you communicate better, make better choices, save money, and improve productivity.
Here are some examples.

1. A Multimedia Journal
One nice feature in Gowalla is its capacity for storing photos and associating them with places you’ve been. For instance, if you visit Chinatown in San Francisco, you can load your photos from there into Gowalla, which will then display them with your comments and check-in locations from that day.
The Gowalla tool can be especially useful if your travels involve multiple stops, and you need to carefully organize the data you pick up at each stop. For instance, if you're shopping for an office or house or apartment, you’ll probably see a number of properties—each with plenty of important characteristics worth noting--in the course of your search. Taking notes and pictures is a good idea, so you won't forget or muddle the things you saw, and end up making a less-than-ideal decision.
Using Gowalla you can attach all of your photos and notes to individual check-in locations. This gives you written, visual, and map data so that later you can revisit your experience and your impressions at a specific stop. After the tour is over, you can go to your Gowalla account to review everything you’ve seen and thought, and then make a reasoned decision about which property is best for you.
Of course you can use the same tool for other types of decisions, too. Think car-buying or spouse-hunting. Yes, Gowalla can change your life.
2. Keep Track of Your Routes
You can use sites like Foursquare to create a catalog of your travels for work. Many small-business people need to make numerous stops each day to meet clients, buy supplies, and perform other work-related tasks. Having a log of all these stops can help you keep track of how many miles you’re covering, and approximate the costs associated with your travels.
Using the History page in Foursquare, for example, you can enter notes about what you did, saw, or spent at each location. As your check-ins add up over time, the Stats page in Foursquare provides hands stats such as where you check in most often. If it sounds like a hassle to pull out your phone and check in every time you stop at one of your regular destinations--well, there’s an app for that. The Checkmate app for Foursquare checks you in automatically when it detects that you’ve arrived at a specific address.
Because location-based apps have a social networking component, you can easily share your daily routes with your employees, business partners, or suppliers.
Let’s say that you either lead or belong to a team of mobile workers. You and your teammates need to keep track of each others’ routes, whether to coordinate activities or to avoid duplicating work.
Of course, successfully using a location-based service for this purpose depends on having all members of the team voluntarily share their location via the app throughout the day. This can happen easily if people can use the tool in a way that benefits everyone on the team (not just the boss) by helping them get more done in less time at less expense and with a minimum amount of travel.
3. Get Tips

Location-aware services like Foursquare allow you to get the straight dope about nearby businesses that you’re considering patronizing. When Foursquare users check in from a given place, the app asks them to post “tips” about their experience. These tips usually contain information specific to the place and its product, but can also provide invaluable real-world looks based on actual experience. Like this: “This place is packed and the wait staff can’t keep up.” Or: “It’s Saturday night at 7:30pm and this place is almost empty.” Or: “The grilled cheese sandwiches here truly live up to the hype, but I am now $15 lighter. Sigh.” This type of information can be very helpful when you're trying to decide whether to patronize this place or that one.

If you’re walking around in a city that’s new to you, such tips can be invaluable--for instance, enabling you to avoid taking a chance on a business that looks good from the outside but serves horrible food. A bad experience like that can be far worse if you happen to be entertaining clients.
Scattered among the tips are notes about deals that only local people know about. One happy visitor to Austin, Texas last year found a tip about a barbecue joint that serves large $2 margaritas from 5:00 until 7:00 every evening (yep, it was me). Another tip identified the correct way to order at a local joint to earn the reward of a discount on the food. I’ve also seen tips warning about specific items on the menu that are a bad bet: “This place is OK, but don’t even THINK about trying the sushi.”
4. Location-Based Advertising
One future payoff of location-based services will be their ability to help small businesses deliver mobile advertisements to potential customers in the area. For instance, a pizza joint might run ads to mobile users as they enter the area at around lunchtime. This type of ad uses combines the location element and the time element to target ads to uniquely qualified prospects. The location element finds mobile users who might already be within walking distance of the business, while the time element finds people who might be hungry.
Not only will these location-targeted ads become more valuable to mobile advertisers, but their increased relevance could be a good thing for you and me, too. If you’re in a new neighborhood around lunchtime it might not be bad to see ads for places nearby that serve killer Philly cheesesteaks. Of course, you don’t have to take the ad’s word for it; you can click on the business’s Foursquare entry and read tips left by users who have actually eaten there, to see whether the joint is really all that.
5. Earn Real Rewards
Starbucks has taken the lead in partnering with a location-based site to offer free stuff and discounts to loyal customers, and you can bet many other businesses will follow suit. If you check in at five different Starbucks on Foursquare you get a “barista” badge. Earlier this year, Starbucks launched its rewards program on Foursquare by offering the Mayors of all Starbucks a coupon for a buck off a Frappuccino, which normally costs around four bucks.
As more businesses participate in location-based rewards programs, you could end up reaping rewards just by checking in at many of the stops that you make during the day anyway. Foursquare and sites like it could become your traveling coupon drawer. For places that you frequent, like office supply stores or restaurants, the savings you could realize through rewards programs could add up to a substantial amount over the course of a year—enough to offset overhead.
Location-based services are still a relatively new phenomenon. When they first hit the scene they were geek novelty apps--fun but not very useful. But location-based services As they mature, they will have to provide real-world benefits in order to keep growing. The announcement earlier this year that Facebook has added a location-based element—Facebook Places—seems to strengthen the legitimacy of the whole business. It also puts a lot of pressure on smaller service like Foursquare and Gowalla to innovate or die.
I’ve provided some ideas about how to use location-based services as they exist today to your advantage or to the advantage of your business. But expect location-based services to develop new functionality in their apps that will make them much more than just novelty apps, saving you time and money in the real world.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, I couldn’t think of any practical uses for Google Buzz.

Facebook and Skype deal to dial friends and family

Skype is integrating with Facebook to make it easier to call and video chat with friends and family on the social network.
The deal comes amid fevered rumours that Facebook plans to launch a phone of its own.
Meanwhile Skype is gearing up for a $100m (£62m) share issue.
"The essence of the Skype experience is communicating with the people you care about," said Rick Osterloh, Skype's head of consumer products.
The new Skype for Windows will include a Facebook tab. This means that for the first time Skype users can keep up-to-date and interact with their Facebook news feed including posting status updates, commenting and liking directly from Skype.

Added to that, the Facebook phonebook in Skype allows users to call and text Facebook friends directly on their mobile phones and landlines.
And if your Facebook friend is also a Skype contact, then users can make free Skype-to-Skype calls.
Group video calling is available in beta form as a free trial.
"We're working with companies such as Skype to make it easier to find your friends anytime you want to connect," said Ethan Beard, director of Facebook's developer network.
'New market'
The move is seen as a natural one for the world's biggest social network, which is aiming to be the central communications and messaging platform for its users across a range of media.
Commentator Ben Popper of business technology blog BNET.com told BBC News it is a win-win for both firms.
"For Skype they are getting built right into the conversation. For Facebook, which has the bulk of its users in the US, this is good in terms of expansion because a chunk of Skype users are in Europe and the rest of the world."
Mr Popper also said he believed this points towards "a possible new market".
"The deal makes this space a lot more interesting and indicates a different direction of where communications could go.
"Right now phones are owned by the cellular networks. This partnership is big enough and deep enough, it could point towards a different kind of telco [telecommunications company] in the future."
Skype has around 560 million registered users and 8.1 million paying users. The Luxembourg-based company said that people spend an average of 520 million minutes every day talking to one another on the service.
Facebook has more than 500 million users, helping the two companies close in on around one billion users, though there will be some overlap.
The research company ComScore reported that in August Facebook users spent more than 40 million minutes on the social networking giant.
The new Skype version 5.0 for Windows is available now. There has been no announcement about when Mac or Linux versions will follow.

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol

In simple terms, DHCP determines if your IP is static or dynamic and the length of time an IP address is assigned.

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol is controlled by a DHCP server. Your router can be a DHCP server...and if you're on a home network, it most likely serves this purpose.

I know this might be confusing because the word dynamic is in the term, but just because you have DHCP enabled on your computer doesn't mean you can't be assigned a static IP. DHCP enabled on your computer simply means you're letting a DHCP server assign its IP. Having it enabled DOES NOT mean it's a DHCP server.

A true DHCP server (not your Linksys router) gives the LAN Admin a ton of control with IP assigning.

Ever print to a network printer? Ever wonder how that printer keeps its network assignment? Each network device has a MAC address. You can assign a static IP at the server to a specific MAC address. This allows the network printer to always get the same IP even after it reboots and without assigning the IP at the printer. If you print the network configuration at the printer, it will probably tell you that DHCP is enabled and no static IP is assigned. That's because the IP assignment is handled at the server.

Your ISP has a DHCP server. They can assign IPs by modem MAC addresses. When your modem comes online, it communicates to the network indicating it is looking for an IP address. The DHCP server listens to this communication and starts talking to the modem. The modem then transmits its MAC address to the DHCP server. At that point, either an IP has been reserved for the modem or one is assigned at that time. Hence cloning your MAC address to get a new IP from your ISP.

Routers and DHCP - Under the General Setup or LAN Setup tab in your router, you'll see a settings option for DHCP. You can control how many IPs are assigned or to enable/disable the DHCP server portion of the router. If you disable it, you'll have to statically assign IPs to each computer, or have a DHCP server or your network. This goes for wired and wireless. Any connection on your network has an IP address.

There's a lot more to DHCP than this, but this is a basic explanation.
