My First Garage Sale

I was excited when received an invitation my from ex uni friend to participate in their company's garage sale

The goods are sometimes new, like-new, or just usable, offered for sale because the owner does not want or need the item, to minimize their possessions, or to raise funds. I bongkar all my old and new stuffs like clothes, hand bags, shoes and accessories as my selling products. I did inform my mom and sister and they also joining me by selling the same items. The garage sale took place at Regency Park Apartment's Hall last Saturday. About 20 booths were filled and most of us selling clothes and bags

I never thought my second hand nail colors were the hottest item that day! I have been used 1 or 2 times of these nail color and some of them even new (suddenly I don't like the color LOL) and excessive stock at home. They were just finished within 30 minutes :)

Next hottest item was the hand bags, our stall was the first one to finish our bags, maybe my mum sold them with a good price :) The clothing section was ok and we managed to get sale from it also. The sale started from 9.00 am to 2.30 pm. The crowd; most of them the residents of Regency Park and outsiders only came in around 10.30 am. With the participation fee of RM 20.00, I hope to get extra $$$ and yes we managed to get good $$$, yeay!

It was indeed another good experience for me, all this time I've been doing the same thing for my previous company and got excited every time we managed to sell our product. But, this time I got overly excited cos it was my OWN product and profit pun untuk diri sendiri hehehe

So, if I got another invitation, I wouldn't miss it!

Daniel Craig acting in thriller movie? I am quite surprise at first. Never thought that he would act in such genre other than his infamous movie James Bond. But hey, it's ok to try out rite? Hubby has been watching this movie yesterday and then story it to me. At first, I thought this is a family movie (by looking at the title) then saw the movie poster, hmmm bikin takut ni hehehe

Managed to watch this last night and overall it doesn't scare me enough or maybe because hubby shared the details and I know every part of it LOL. If you ever watched The Others or Uninvited, you will find the similarity between this three (3) movies. Dead yet alive! Craig acted with his beau wife Weisz in this movie. I find this movie a bit slow and the ending part, you can guess straightaway. Some part of the stories should be explained thoroughly like why the killing part happened in the beginning and what's the motive. They used a little bit of words to explain everything and that's it.

Anyways, I rate the movie 2.5 out of 5 and I think Daniel Craig's hair here bids (ugly) hehehe. And, happy watching!

The KK's Boston

I am not very sure if you guys ever heard about this eatery before. If not, it is located at the Karamunsing Capital, next to Fatty Chef Cafe and one row with Pappa Rich. Ring a bell?

When hubby fetched me to go for lunch last Wednesday, I told him I wanna go to Pappa Rich but instead we went to Boston Cafe plus we managed to get parky parko (parking) in front of the cafe.

Looking at the crowd (full house), we were extra sure to have our lunch there. The ordering style is just like Old Town Coffee, Ipoh Coffee and Pappa Rich. Place your order and write using pencil on a paper :)

So, here's what we had:

a) Deep Fried Dumplings as appetiser - OK and the dumpling skins taste like nachos :)

b) Both hubby and I chose Dry-Fried Beef Tenderloin as our main course

Frankly speaking, this dish tastes like home cooked one. It doesn't have any special flavor in it. The menu illustrates it will be super hot dish but actually no, not hot at all and the presentation is.... errr??? hmmm maybe next time shouldn't order this dish

Their service also so - so only, asking for chillies and soy sauce for 4 times, the cashier mixed up our order with other people's order and etc. I guess that's the perk of opening a shop after CNY kan, everything or everyone is not ready yet LOL!

Anyways, hubby is fine with it and there might be a second visit to this eatery again. Plus, we haven't try good dish that actually represents this cafe but one thing for sure, it's a good place for meeting up friends; chatting and yamcha. Give it a try!

The Family Reunion Dinner @ CNY's eve

I always looking forward for a long holiday and over excited about it even though it's two (2) days before? This is one habit that I cannot avoid k :)

Yam Pork

Talking about holidays, this year CNY celebration is unforgettable. The family reunion, food, laughter and poker games equal to everything and I wanna be part of it through out my years of living!

As usual, we went to my house earlier to help my mom do the set up. And lotsa food was served during the family reunion and as mentioned, I did eat two (2) plates of rice k and no judgement here LOL!

My choc cheese cake, gonna bake again this soon

Steamed chicken it's a must for my dad and not to forget my mom's signature dish plus others. And yeay for me coz my first time baking choc cheese cake was a success and everyone loved it!

And starting this year, me and hubby giving out angpows to both parents and siblings. To our surprise, my dad and mom also gave us angpows and the quantity? Not bad, can go shopping hahaha, thanks dad and mom!
Before we headed home, we played poker games called kuah merah (to win you have to pair up your cards) and sadly I lost this year huhuhu.

Anyways, we did enjoy ourselves and our enjoyment is shared with the people we love!

Tung Tung Tung Chang!

Yeap, that's my version of lion dance! And, it's about two (2) days before we celebrating Chinese New Year (CNY). As usual, me and hubby will go home for makan malam with my family. Also, this year mom has ordered extra kilos for babs (pork) for her signature dish Yam Pork or Q-Nyuk, yeay! Sounds yummmey and I can't wait. Definitely, two (2) plates of rice coming up hehehe

This CNY, I didn't buy any new clothes or shoes, just wear anything red and convenient ler and we are not going to Pasar Malam tomorrow. With the heavy traffic, I think I better stay at home to make my CNY's desserts. Yes, it will be butter and cheese cake, double yummmey!

Technical oh Technical

Wow, it's been a week since I started my new job. Seriously, I still do not know whether I like or not this job. I find my new job interesting. Yeap and am involving and exposing myself to technical and engineering world. It is a good opportunity eh? Despite of learning something new, I tershut down sekejap yesterday when meeting my first client and I was speechless. LOL!

I was in the middle of explaining something practical when this KDM boss/client suddenly asked me questions about technical things nonchalantly and you know what happened next? I couldn't answer lor. On the way back to the office, my boss told me that he do not expect me to learn a lot of this techs but focus more on the tech proposals which involve writing and ideas. Plus, they will assist me next time when doing sales call.

BUT, how am I supposed to write a proposal without knowing a bit of techs world? And, if I have to go ALONE for the sales call? Wuaaahhh! Nope, I will not let myself to be in this situation again. So, I will study all the techs thingy starting now hehehe

I think changing job is really troublesome especially when it is a different field where you have to start from the scratch. But, once you've mastered it, your boat will sail smoothly with fewer problems :)

I remember during my high school days, I have a lot of Chinese friends and the friendship with them remains till now. We communicate via FB, Twitter also seeing each other in town.

And yesterday I met one of my friends at Kedai Kopi Ria, Damai when having breakfast with hubby. I think I saw Beaty but I was afraid I got the wrong girl hehehe and next time again I will say hello! :)

Ok, about this friend, I ever saw her and her hubby at coffee shop near my previous office last year. At school, she is known for her friendly gesture and a tegur orang punya lah. The first time we met, I looked at her and wanted to say Hi but she ignored me and I thought because our table distance was quite far so am fine it. But, yesterday it happened again, she's just with her old action. Interesting facts here are; she looked at me then looked away and did it for 4 times, our table was just next to each other and previously she did comment and 'like' my FB status/post.

I say WTF! I will delete her from my FB and Twitter accounts. Maybe during school days, I wanted her to be one of my friends but now I don't need her at all. I rather lose one friend who doesn't appreciate her friend. Sad but true and she's stuck with bad attitude.

Now am judging her and I still hurt.

As we entered year 2012, I have listed down several wishes with hope that I can achieve it.

I did good in last year tho; I got married with my best friend, went for vacation at one of my dream places, got three (3) good gadgets; BB, Tab and Apple :) and got new job! But if I can get free ticket to watch Thunder, Clippers-Warriors on last Christmas night will be much better lol!

Anyways, I bought this cute lucky bamboo with crystals decor on new year. The Chinese lady said it's good to bring $$$; oh well, it's always nice to have extra money :)

Ombak.Rindu. by Yours Truly

I seldom watch Malay movie in the cinema. So far I think only 3 times; Sembilu 2, Pasrah and recently Ombak Rindu. I wanted to watch Lagenda Budak Setan but my timing is not ngam then ended watching on Astro Ria :)

But, for this movie is a yes yes for my time. So, me, hubby, my sis and her bf watched it on last Saturday, 09.25pm show at GSC Suria. Gosh, punya ramai orang!!! And the hall was full house till the front seats were occupied.

Based upon the bestselling Malaysian novel, "Ombak Rindu" is about the romance between Izzah and Hariz, two lovers from different worlds. Izzah is a village girl who has been sold by her father to a nightclub in KL as a prostitute. However, Hariz, a rich man's son, has bought her from the nightclub to keep as his own mistress. She begs him to make her an honest woman and he agrees, on the condition that she doesn't claim any rights as a wife. Hariz soon softens his heart and learns to fall in love with Izzah. However, he is ordered by his father to wed a childhood friend - Mila.

I rate this movie 3 stars our of 5. Despite of the nice cinematography, there were certain time where the scenes were cut off and jumped into the next scene, you know like the documentary style tu. I do like the actors and actresses here. Aaron Aziz @ Hariz; as usual always sempoi but deep in his heart he actually cares about her girl. Maya Karin @ Izzah; her character here is normal, naive and always fill with great emotions. Lisa Surihani @ Mila Hermila is da best antagonist character. I like her acting here and it's natural :) and Bront Palare @ Mail is ok ok saja plus his role is small in this movie. Not to forget Azizah Mahzan who played Aaron's mom, still maintaining her good acting skills. My favorite part in this movie is when Izzah accidentally let Hariz's watch fell into the river start panicky luckily Mail managed to find the watch. Sayang betul dia tu jam hehehe

I recommend to watch this movie as soonish (jan nangis ah) and according to the writer of this book, some of the scenes are off from her story and the book is more thorough. This is where the producer make profit mah kan but overall still good. Next mission is to find the book and I know Popular will have it soon!

So much of cooking activities for me this month; from dishes to cakes :) Cooking and baking? Yeah, that's my life now. Ok, pixies time!

Note: There'll be lotsa foodie pixies

a) Shui Jiao with chicken broth soup

I was browsing CathJ website and saw her wonton dumplings (yummy), so brought hubby to mini market at Bornion to buy the ingredients

Verdict: It supposed to be wonton but the skin dumplings; thick and wide, so ended up cooking Shui Jiao. I am not satisfied with the filling, I should use less corn flour next time

b) Nasi Briyani with side dishes; Deep Fry Spicy Chicken Wings and Vege

Nope, I didn't do the Briyani from the scratch (hehehe), I used Briyani Paste (I forgot the brand) at Sunny Supermarket

Verdict: Next time, I will put raisins and bunga cengkih for more aroma!

c) Citrus Ice Cream

I modified Nigella's recipe actually and much more simplified. Love the citrus smell and taste!

Verdict: My fresh squeezed orange was sweet a bit and I forgot to taste it before mixing into the cream. So, the ice cream a bit sweet and less sour. The lime didn't work since I only put 3 pieces

d) Chicken Lihing Soup

Love this and gonna cook again!

e) Sweet Egg Tarts

First time baking using oven. I have difficulties when using the oven. Bah, all this time I'm baking cake in steaming process

Verdict: With 350gm of flour, I can bake 5 dozen of tarts. But, the first 3 batches were over cooked and even not cooked. Am not sure how these thing can happen because I followed the instructions on the book! Again, I remember CathJ baking tart process and baked it accordingly. Viola! Alas! Thanks Cath :)

f) Nasi Tomat with side dish; Ayam Kurma

Yes, the tomatoes rice I cooked it from the scratch and the dish I used Adabi Kurma paste

g) Orange Madeira Cake

It's just an ordinary cake with a taste of orange juice and zest!

Verdict: I love the cake texture! And the baking process is easy to follow and understand :)

I received calls from my families and friends ordering Fruit Cakes for Christmas. Wow, it is 1 month and 4 days before the joyous celebration. We will come out with special ads for this

Mr.Popper's.Penguins. by Yours Truly

Have you guys ever thought of penguin as a pet?

I have (suddenly) and I know it's impossible to have one aha! Watched this movie with dearest hubby today, we did find this movie is funny and interesting. Other than the fact that the hero is Jim Carrey; the funny guy and sometimes I think his jokes are irrelevant, this is a great movie for the family. I can't imagine if our house has six (6) penguins running all over!

A penguin foams past the biology. Plus, it is a cute and adorable animal. In this movie, their names are Captain, Stinky, Bitey, Lovey, Loudy and Nimrod (the clumsy one hehehe). Ever since a little kid, Thomas Popper (Carrey) spending less time with his father due to the father's heavy duty outstation work . Until the day he died, he sent a live penguin to Popper as a gift. Another five (5) coming up. Popper also has divorced with his wife and has two (2) children. This is a result of too committed with his career. His life changed because of these penguins. The main reason why the father sent him a penguin because 'once it loves you, it never leaves your side'. Anyways, lotsa of drama also featured in this movie but alas it's all good.

The Wife's Cooking

Being a homemaker at the moment, gives me more time to prepare food; lunch or dinner for dearest hubby. Not to forget tea break or supper (jarang sikit lah ni) also. According to hubby, I actually take my time to prepare the food, for instance, when we just got back from jalan - jalan, I decided to cook something for us which involves lotsa process.

When I was in secondary school and university, cooking is the least thing that I would do, with the homeworks and assignments duhhh.... plus my mum is a great cook and no one in the families can lawan her cookings. See? hehehe...

And after being married for 3 months, I can say, I upgrade sikit my cooking skills and hubby likes it very much. Pixies time!

This month was a seafood galore for us!

After experiencing bad moment at one particular shop at Seri Selera, Kampung Air, we terus decided not to eat seafood at first! Imagine, I was waiting about 25 minutes to make our order and the captains just acted like super duper busy and even asked me to wait kunun and when tourists came they just ignored me and served the tourists. Darn them! We will not going there again!

So, hubby missed eating the siput tarik or tung fung because of the incident. But, I have suggested to hubby to celebrate his last Tuesday buffday by dining at the Welcome Seafood Restaurant, Asia City. Plus, my parents in law went back to Tambunan for urgent matter and will be only celebrating hubby's buffday on the next day.

First time went there, first impression; to many people thus tiada seats. Waited for 10 minutes and one of the captains managed to find us seats. Happy faces and these what we ordered :)

Hubby's fave: Siput Tarik or Tung Fung - Steamed
Price per kg: RM 20.00

Wifey's fave: Crab - Sweet & Sour style
Price per kg: RM 18.00

Plum Sauce Chicken - Buli tahan oso but a bit sweet
Price per plate: RM 10.00

Kangkung Belacan
Price per plate: RM 8.00

Both's fave: Fresh Prawn - Steamed
Price per kg: Rm 60.00

With 3 bowls of rice, Chinese tea ping and Coke, the total amount is RM 81.00. Reasonable right? This will be our seafood spot now said the hubby :)

The next day, we went for the belated buffday dinner with the family at the same shop hehehe and yes everyone satisfied!

Did I mention seafood galore? Last Sunday, we had dinner my family at Golden Seafood Restaurant, Tanjung Aru - Kepayan for my lil' bro buffday and the next day we also ate seafood for the late dinner. Nah, too much cholesterol already in our body and it's detox time bebeh!

Lovebirds' Vacation ~ Final Part

Hola peeps and sorry for the long delayed post!

Our rendezvous in SZ and HK continues... (and it's long one)

We decided to go to SZ in the morning time, less people and less trouble! Again, we took MTR from Mong Kok East Station to reach Luowu Station, the border of SZ. The journey was about forty five (45) minutes and as I said, there were less people in the beginning BUT the big crowd turned out when we reached the second final station at Fan Ling, gao meng ahhh!!!

We took a cab to our hotel; Green Tree Inn near Dong Men area. We did a booking via Agoda, two (2) weeks before our trip and to our surprise for the first twenty (20) minutes, they did not manage to find our booking and still searching for it even though we passed them the hotel voucher. Alas, they managed to get us room at seventh floor.

It was raining and it made very hard for us to go jalan-jalan. From our hotel to the Dongmen shopping heaven took about 20 minutes by foot.

We didn't go to any interesting or historical places in SZ due to limited time. All we did is eat and shop only. After two (2) days in SZ, we went back again to Mong Kok area for another two (2) nights stay.

Back in HK means Disney time hehehe!!! The trip to Disneyland was my idea of our honeymoon trip. When I was a kid, I love to watch Disney's cartoon and television series based on classic fairy tales. I still remember Shelley Duvall was always be the narrator! And my wishes came true! Enjoice pixies!

First pix: I was queuing together with the kids (hahaha) and waited for almost 1 hour to be with the lovely princesses and their princes: Snow White and Cinderella. And when they talk, huh sounds like real princesses macam dalam tv tu

Second pix: Didn't manage to get photog with these two main characters, cos the queuing line was so long and by the time we reached here, we have to wait for another 1 hour barulah ni cutie tikus buli ambil gambar with the crowd!

Third pix: Tia dapat bergambar dengan yang real, patung pun jadi lah lol, me surrounded with the minnies!

The weather at Disneyland was super duper hot until now my sun burnt belum hilang hilang and the crowd was huge due to school holidays, weekend, locals and tourists visiting but it was a good and fun trip!

We managed to do our final shopping at the famous Ladies Market, just situated in front of our stay and window shopping at Langham Mall. The market is similar to Petaling Street but the bargaining power is efficient here. For example; from HKD 200.00 can discount to HKD 50.00, amazing kan?

This is Langham Mall's highest and longest escalator, equals to 10 floors punya height! For those that afraid of this height, better don't stare below!

And the food? The BBQ Duck is the best of all, can't get enough of this hehehe

Overall, we loike both places, despite the bad weather, language barriers, hotels are small size, HK immigration counter is super slow and so on. Definitely will visit here again but this time from SZ then to HK.

Lovebirds' Vacation ~ Part 1

Our recent vacation was a one memorable trip. We decided to go Hong Kong (HK) and Shen Zhen (SZ), oppps sorry the wifey chose HK and you may ask why? Of all the places??? I mean I got several bad impression towards HK; mentioning about their attitude, speak too loud to each other, fast pace of living people and so on. Well, these are all just opinions kan and to know whether true or not you have to experience yourself.

We reached HK around 3.30pm, it was raining a bit. We took MTR (Mass Transit Railway) to reach our destination at HK Station, HK Island. It costs us HKD 160.00 for two persons and reached the station about 45 minutes. Then, we went to guest pick up area, waited for our bus to arrive and go to our hotel. We stayed one night at Bishop Lei International Hotel. We booked twin room but they upgraded us to suite since there were no twin rooms available. So, we were happy, yalah kan dapat bilik cantik siapa tidak mau ??? I can say it is a cute and neat room, BUT punya kecil ruang tamu, bedroom ok, shower area kecil sangat lah and toilet space ok.

The next morning before check out, we went to Madame Tussauds; the wax museum. It is located at The Peak. I was so excited to go there cos there are nearly 100 wax figures combination of well known personalities, actors and actress. We paid HKD 320.00 entrance fee for two persons and the first figure we saw is Jackie Chan lol! There were lotsa people and when taking pixies, the words 'Excuse Me' are no longer exist here hahaha!!! You have to adapt your surrounding otherwise you'll never get the chance.

After posing for almost 2 hours huh, penat eh, we went back to our hotel, checked out and moved to another accomodation located at Mong Kok District. MTR was our transport during our trip. To reach Mong Kok, we had traveled using 2 different MTR line/station.

Mong Kok is always associated with triad gangs (we barely see them during our stay). When we first reached here, the place was so crowded with Hongkers (or Hongkies ni?) until you don't have any space to walk, but again, to survive (lol) you have to follow their style lor. And the weather didn't not permit us to go jalan - jalan, as a result we just tapau our dinner and eat in our room. It was ok juga cos can rest, since the next day we were going to SZ for two days. What is the main attraction in SZ? You'll have to wait for the Part 2 :)

The Married Couple

Yes. We are married. In 3 days time, our marriage life will be 1 month age! How time flies!

We started knowing each other since year 2004 as a colleague, got in serious relationship year 2008, year 2010 we got engaged and this year we exchanged our marriage vows. Our journey of life begins now :)

See the wedding bouquet? I missed my roses. I requested special design and color from our designated florist. Luckily, she managed to get them. And one funny story happened during this time, sudahlah nervous or maybe my maid of honor forgot to take my bouquet and I was holding it for a long time till the Archbishop asked me to put down my bouquet on the table... malu juga but I just said "oh ok"... hehehe

As usual, in wedding celebrations, any dancing part, the bride and groom have to participate coz they are the highlights of the night. The above traditional dance is called Magunatip or bamboo dance and usually perform by the Murut community and that night was from Murut Nabai of Kg. Masak, Keningau. Nice performance!

Our last reception took place at hubby's hometown, Tambunan, one week after the church wedding

Overall, we did enjoy ourselves and of course tiring jugalah. Then, one week after the Tambunan reception, we went for our vacay to one of the places that I wanted to visit! So, will share to you all in next post :)

24 days to be exact! And we are counting days now. Preparation? Hmmm, I still can manage till today.

My pending checklist goes like this; finalize the guests' list, script for emcees, to revise (again) the program for the reception, food tasting and rehearsals. They may look sikit but totally can turn on my swing mood; I mean later lah not now :)

And here's a sneak peek of our wedding card, we love it very much and suits our theme colors.

And yeay, our wedding rings just arrived yesterday, specially custom-made according to our specification and it's time to buy a pillow ring!!!

Well, hopefully everything will go well, maybe not perfect but enough to bring happiness faces on our memorable day! *** fingers crossed ***
