California Governor Brown to Spend Additional $40 Million on Illegal Immigrants

Hello California taxpayers! Hope all is well, and that you are pleased with state services and reasonable state tax rates (ha ha, yeah right). Well, the latter only applies to those who are actually PAYING taxes, but we digress ...
Taxpayers: Please send the California state government another check for $40 MILLION. Do not worry, it is for a good cause. It's not as if times are tough, right?

The $40 Million is designed for Governor Brown and, let's face it, the Democratic Party to appease the new pet constituent group, La Raza, by granting illegal children access to state financial aid. Now, nobody wants to see illegal immigrant or undocumented children cry or flee the state because they cannot afford our universities, so Governor Brown has decided to make it more appealing. He has sweetened the deal, so to speak by providing legal access to state financial aid!

You will NEVER guess who will pay for this! No way, you guessed correctly?

And the cost of $40 Million is followed up by a likely squeeze of even more students out of precious classroom space. Who knows, maybe the squeezed out of classroom legal children aiming for university studies can apply for state jobs instead of going to school?

California taxpayers - you are paying for it all!

California Now A Sanctuary State

Let's face it - my state, California, is essentially a 'sanctuary' STATE. We used to use this term with zany cities like San Francisco, where illegals can basically roam freely amongst the teeming regular US citizens and green card holders. They don't have to worry about their lack of 'papers'.

Now illegals in the former Golden State can get financial aid and in-state tuition in California universities and colleges. Way to go Governor - you have officially given the middle finger to those of us who think citizenship still means something. It means nothing more than securing the political base to you.

Also, for you LEGAL students, I know you are too young to care, but you better study extra hard, because classroom space is about to get even tighter!

Chain Migration

Chain Migration has long been a problem in this country. It is time to get a grip on this ridiculous form of "immigration"!

Chain migration is the process where seemingly endless “chains” of foreign nationals are allowed to immigrate to the United States, since our laws allow citizens and lawful permanent residents to bring in their non-nuclear, adult family members. Tea Party and Illegal Immigration

A balanced look at the Tea Party. It looks like Illegal Immigration is a major issue for Tea Partiers, aside from the steadily growing American non working sector. This makes perfect sense to me, and by the way - count me in please!

Illegal Immigration from Mexico Stalling

This is great news, but overall the numbers are still WAY, WAY too high!

"The overall undocumented population in this country last year was 11.2 million, down from its peak of about 12 million in 2007, the Hispanic Pew Center said. Mexicans accounted for 58 percent of that group, or about 6.5 million from a high of 7 million in 2007."

Small progress is better than no progess.

"I don’t think anybody would have predicted the kind of fall-off we’ve had,” said Wayne Cornelius, co-director of the University of California’s Center on Migration and Health, housed on the San Diego campus."

By the way, what the hell is a "Center on Migration and Health"???? Seriously, is this necessary at a public university? Hmm, I wonder why public universities run out of money and consistently graduate 20 Somethings who are ill prepared for the workforce (short of public sector "social services").

Mexican Soccer Fans Boo the USA

Nothing strange about the title, except ... this was a USA Men's Team Soccer home game. The vast majority of fans were Mexican fans, presumably from ... Mexico? or are they living in America ...? Who knows? In this day of Sanctuary Cities and little or no workplace verification of social security numbers (California in particular), anything is possible.

Make no mistake about it, I like soccer and can assure you: the soccer players from Mexico gave the US team a butt kicking. They deserved the win. But the behavior of some of the fans has come under scrutiny. Again, the odd factor here is that this was a 'home' game for the US team, held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California - just outside of Los Angeles.

Anyway, I hope some day the US Men's Soccer team can defeat the Mexican team as handily as they were defeated themselves on Saturday. In the meantime, remember to continue supporting anti-illegal immigration initiatives and maybe someday we can get to a slightly more balanced crowd in the Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California ... USA.

H1-B Visa Runs Dry for Oakland Teacher

An Oakland, California AP Statitstics teacher is running into a problem: the school district decided not to sponsor her work visa. Of course, she is tenured so the teacher's union naturally supplied her with a lawyer. The lawyer is fighting to force the Oakland school district to sponsor her H-1 visa so she can not only continue teaching in the USA but continue to reside, and therefore likely (finally) deal with obtaining citizenship. Ahh, America.

"Oakland has about 20 such teachers, most with tenure, Oakland Unified spokesman Troy Flint said.

District officials say in court documents that they are not firing Francisco. They acknowledge her tenured status and say if she can obtain a work visa on her own, the district will continue to employ her.

At the same time, they say Francisco's performance has deteriorated, citing a 2009 performance evaluation that found she was not meeting district standards in certain areas, including engaging students and assessing learning."

RULING GIVES HUGE BOOST TO EFFORTS

TO PASS E-VERIFY BILL IN CONGRESS THIS SUMMER

Lobbyists for business groups and illegal-alien advocacy groups have blocked Congress from passing a national mandatory law since 1996.

NumbersUSA and its allies have fought every year to win incremental victories. First, to create the workplace verification system as a pilot program for just a few states. Later, to expand the voluntary system nationwide. Most recently to persuade Pres. Obama to mandate its use for all federal contractors.

If the Supreme Court had knocked us down today, the business lobbies would have looked out over a whole nation without any states requring employers to electronically verify that they weren't hiring illegal foreign workers. And they would have felt little pressure to do anything other than they've always done, which is to throw all their weight in Congress toward protecting employers that prefer to hire illegal aliens over unemployed Americans.

But not now.

With more than a dozen states with different E-Verify laws and different rules for businesses -- and with the Supreme Court opening the way for all other states to adopt their own rules -- the business lobbies will get a lot of pressure from their members to back a uniform national law.

Many businesses that operate in multiple states are already complaining to their lobbyists that they don't like operating under all the different rules and would prefer a national law.

The Supreme Court today added a whole lot more oomph to that pressure on business lobbyists to join us in a national law requiring a system that the businesses already using it praise as one of the most effective and easiest programs of the federal government.

MORE ON THE SUPREME COURT RULING

The key issue in the court case was whether Arizona could take away the business license of an employer who refuses to use E-Verify.

The NumbersUSA Amicus went into great detail in showing that such a state law is precisely what Congress has set up as a state enforcement option over the last 25 years.

The majority opinion was written by Chief Justice John Roberts who said that Arizona's E-Verify law "falls well within the confines of the authority Congress chose to leave to the states."

Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor dissented. (The newest Justice, Elena Kagan, was not involved in this case because she had been part of Pres. Obama's support of the Chamber of Commerce before she was elected to the Court.)

Shame on Florida state Senator JD Alexander for shooting down E-Verify components of a Florida bill. It appears he is looking out for his own interests instead of the greater interest of Floridians. Does anyone in his sunny district see how insidious his posiiton is?

It looks like Georgia is joining the line of states wanting to enforce immigration laws that the federal government avoids. It is up to the states to take a stand against illegal immigration.

"Georgia's governor on Friday signed a tough new state law cracking down on illegal immigrants that is similar to one enacted in Arizona last year, handing new powers to police in the southern state.

The law authorizes police in Georgia to investigate the immigration status of criminal suspects they think may be in the country illegally."

Read between the lines below - really what the paper is saying is this: "California Taxpayers are Subsidizing Illegal Immigrants (again)". Or maybe this is just an educated guess?

"Undocumented students are ineligible for state or federal financial aid, but do get help under a policy that allows them to pay the same fees as California residents. For example, non-California residents pay an additional $20,608 a year at the University of California; up to $10,170 at the California State University: and up to $170 per unit at community colleges."

Illegals Make A Million Selling Fake Documents, Finally Get Caught

"Twenty-two people have been charged in an 11-state illegal immigration ring that produced more than 15,000 false documents and protected its lucrative turf through kidnappings, beatings and the murder, officials said Thursday.
The defendants, who are being held in Virginia, are accused of 12 counts, including racketeering, murder, assault, firearms possession, kidnapping, money laundering, and possessing and producing false documents. Most are illegal immigrants from Mexico.
The Mexico-based ring operated in 19 U.S. cities and generated more than $1 million over less than two years selling Social Security cards, driver's licenses and work documents at prices ranging from $150 to $200, according to an indictment."

Grand Rapids Illegal Immigrants Arrested

Amazing. A very diverse bunch of illegals is netted in Grand Rapids. Hopefully, the President and the Congress can actually close the borders to illegals and remove the incentives to illegal immigration.
"Among those arrested were a 32-year-old from Laos, a permanent resident with prior convictions for manslaughter and discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, and a 46-year-old from Mexico, a permanent resident who was convicted of sexual assault of a child, ICE said.

Four of the suspects accused of re-entering the U.S. after being deported will be tried in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids on potential 20-year felonies. Others would be deported or go before an immigration judge."
