What is Baseband :
For the iPhone, baseband refers to a specific piece of software code that controls the mobile and radio communications portion of the iPhone's functionality.
This runs on a standalone chip which is designed with a (more strict) security model that restricts unauthorised code execution. Simply jailbreaking your phone is not enough to bypass this baseband cpu security model - this is why only specific versions of baseband can be unlocked (with these versions, a way has been found to bypass the security model and execute unsigned code)

The Nokia N900 is a qwerty MID touchscreen smartphone that’s running Maemo 5 Linux as it’s operating system.

Pros:

Anyways, enough of the phone, let’s get to the main topic, installing chinese IME on this phone. Interestingly, penpower actually has free input software for the nokia n900. Of course, this is due to the hard work of the folks who are modifying mscim for n900 in the first place, but seriously, the pp software really kicks ass.

Otherwise, follow these steps:

- Access phone menu (touching the top left, where there are six squares)

- Select “More..”

- Select “App Manager”

- Select “Application Manager” dropdown

- Select “Application catalogues”

- Select “New”

Enter the following: (Only the web address and distribution are important.)

Catalogue name: Maemo Extras-devel

Web address: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel

Distribution: fremantle

Components: free non-free

Do not click the “Disabled” checkbox

- Select “Save”

The Application Manager will reload the applications you can install from this new repository.

- Select “Application Manager”

Search for, and install these applications in the following order:

- mscim

- n900-locales-ppchinese

- mscim-n900-ppinputmethod

At this point, you can go to the system menu, settings, language & region, device language > and select either “chinese prc, chinese taiwan, or chinese hongkong”

To activate/de-activate the PowerPen ime, hold the CTRL + SPACEBAR.

To de-activate certain input methods, you can goto system menu, settings, MSCIM input methods.

There’s several input methods, in my opinion, it’s better than the free stuff you can install on your windows computer.

- Stroke based keyboard input system (Select 木 three times, and a 森 will appear)

- There is another kind of stroked based keyboard input system but I’m not familiar with usage

- QWERTY Pinyin input

- Handwriting input

The Traditional Chinese package consists of two parts - English and Traditional Chinese input method interface.

Traditional Chinese language interface is himself under theMainland netizens "cold Greek" and of you friends of the collective creation, and Nokia has been launched in China licensed N810 Simplified Chinese language interface file conversion is made. 26 What is SL2 phones? why its not repair or restore sp are after restoring 308 pm backup?
A. SL2 phones are new security by nokia which use different simlock structure then normal slpl phones.
B. SL2 phones use 2 fields as secure simlock information. pm section 120 and pm section 308 to repair or restore to original status that phone you have to restore both section and all fields in it.
C. SL2 if you have pm section 308 backup only you can't restore your phone to original stat its show only contact service. at that case you need to restore pm section 120 or buy ask 2 rpl.
D. SL2 phones are supported in many tool this days so unlocking is possible without any problem.
E. There is SL3 phones special simlock structure which is unknown and still not possible to hack or crack so no way to unlock accept via imei and provider codes.
