Nirvana foi uma banda de grunge fundada no ano de 1986 em Aberdeen (Washington), nos Estados Unidos da América. A sua música foi inspirada no punk rock, no rock alternativo, no Heavy Metal, e no new wave sendo chamada grunge pela imprensa e meios de comunicação da época. O grupo se desfez em 1994 com a morte de seu líder e vocalista, Kurt Cobain. Foram considerados como a maior banda grunge da história e uma das maiores da história do rock. Sua canção mais famosa, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" está entre as 20 melhores músicas da história, além de ser considerada a segunda melhor música dos últimos 20 anos. O álbum "Nevermind" (1991) vendeu até 2009 cerca de 35 milhões de cópias e teve a melhor capa de disco da história da música, conforme pesquisa promovida pela revista eletrônica "Gigwise". Criada em 1995, a banda finlandêsa HIM é formada por Ville Valo (vocal), Migé (baixo), Linde (guitarra), Burton (teclados) e Gás (bateria), sendo que Ville, Migé e Linde estão na banda desde o início, enquanto que Burton e Gás substituíram antigos integrantes.
A banda nasce com uma proposta inovadora de unir sentimento a guitarras pesadas, fazendo um som único que pode ser, genericamente, chamado de Love Metal, mas que não pode ser precisamente definido. A voz penetrante e inconfundível de Valo consegue transmitir uma melancolia única às melodias que o HIM toca.
O HIM tem influências do gótico dos anos 80 como The Cure e Joy Division, mas isso não faz deles góticos, até porque eles também tem influências de Chris Isaak, Black Sabbath, Ramones,U2 e Concrete Blonde.

Heartagram

O Heartagram é a mistura de um coração com um pentagrama invertido (Baphomet). O significado desse símbolo é a vida e a morte, o amor e o ódio, uma "forma extrema e intensa" que é o tema da maioria das músicas da banda, além de ser seu símbolo principal.
O Heartagram é a marca registrada do HIM, criado por Ville Valo no dia de seu 20° aniversário. Valo disse que "o Heartagram representa o HIM, como banda, como uma entidade e o 'love metal' em geral". Muitos fãs da banda tem tatuagens do Heartagram, ou tatuagens de outros emblemas do HIM - como o coração no pulso direito de Ville entre outros. Ville Valo permitiu que "seu amigo próximo", Bam Margera (skatista profissional, ator e estrela de Jackass, que por sinal tem várias tatuagens semelhantes às do Ville) compartilhasse a licença da imagem do Heartagram que Margera tem usado para fins promocionais, incluindo seus tênis Adio e skates Element. Por causa da licença compartilhada, as pessoas confundem facilmente, achando que o símbolo pertence apenas a Bam.

Nascida em Salvador, Pitty é fruto – e também peça importante – da cena underground da capital baiana desde o inicio dos anos 90. Já era conhecida no mundo indie como a vocalista do Inkoma, banda de hardcore que chegou a lançar um disco independente e particular de várias coletâneas. Depois do fim da banda, continuou compondo suas músicas, até pintar a oportunidade de lançar o disco “Admirável chip novo”.
Chamou para acompanha-la outros três integrantes desta cena roqueira soteropolitana e ... O resto da historia todo mundo já conhece.
O que nem todos sabem é que Pitty tem um humor critico e acido que faz rir e pensar ao mesmo tempo. E tem um olhar que pode ser tão doce quanto fulminante.

Praticamente o inicio foi assim:
Mike e Billie se conheceram aos 10 anos de idade, pouco antes do pai de Billie Joe Armstrong morrer de câncer. Mike Dirnt foi um dos poucos amigos de Billie que chegou a conhecer seu pai. Quando Mike completou 15 anos, ele se mudou para a casa de Billie e, os dois, para se sustentar, começaram a trabalhar de ajudantes de garçom no Rod's Hickory Pitt. Neste mesmo ano de 1987, Mike e Billie fundaram a banda, após recrutarem o baterista John Kiffmeyer, conhecido como Al Sobrante, sendo assim, batizaram a banda de The Sweet Children que tocava em pizzarias e em campus.

Pouco tempo depois, fizeram seu primeiro show em um lendário clube chamado Gilman Street, nesta mesma época, Tré Cool tocava na The Lookouts. Algum tempo depois, eles conseguiram assinar contrato com a gravadora Lookout! Records e mudaram o nome da banda de The Sweet Children para Green Day.

Rammstein é uma banda alemã formada em Berlin em Janeiro de 1994.
E a maioria das suas músicas são em alemão, um pouco dificil de entender, mais sempre se tem um tradutor on line por ai, para traduzir as musiquinhas da banda.

Agora falando um pouco de onde veio o nome da banda... O nome da banda vem de um acidente aéreo acontecido na pequena cidade alemã Ramstein em 1988, durante uma exibição em que três aviões italianos colidiram e caíram em cima da platéia, provocando a morte de setenta pessoas. Nossa apartir de um desastre começa uma banda da hora..(rsrs) A banda decidiu então pôr um "M" a mais no nome.

A banda freqüentemente usa efeitos pirotécnicos, fortes efeitos de iluminação além de um aspecto teatral nos seus concertos, produzindo um visual impressionante mas sobretudo cativante, mesmo para quem não gosta da sua música.

Agora falando um pouco sobre as letras e o estilo da banda. Os Rammstein não se enquadram num gênero musical específico. O seu estilo é considerado industrial metal, porém os próprios membros da banda chamam seu estilo de "Tanz Metall". Como óbvio na sua música industrial ela está sempre associada a música eletrônica, no caso do Rammstein é mais notável a influência do Techno. Acima de tudo, procuram em cada álbum fazer algo diferente do anterior, não mantendo um estilo. Apesar da banda demonstrar brutalidade na sua imagem, há senso de humor e protesto político nas letras. Algumas letras estão escritas de maneira dúbia, passíveis de terem dupla interpretação, podendo dizer-se que o sentido da letra varia segundo o ouvinte.

No final, são considerados mais como Neue Deutsche Härte (trad: Nova Dureza Alemã, dureza relacionada com os vínculos ao estilo musical Heavy Metal)

Masterplan

É uma banda alemã de power metal muito legal...

A banda começou no final de 2001... e foi um começo muito doido.

O início das atividades se deram no final do Outono 2001, durante a turnê do Helloween "The Dark Ride Tour", do album "The Dark Ride - 2000. Roland Grapow, presente na banda desde 1989, Uli Kusch, desde 1994, decidiram formar um projeto paralelo do Helloween, desgastados e insatisfeitos em continuar seus empenhos junto ao Helloween, devido às diferenças musicais crescentes. Após divergências internas, ao final da turnê do “The Dark Ride”, Roland e Uli foram "convidados" a se retirarem do Helloween, aonde puderam dar continuidade e esbanjar criatividade e autonomia ao projeto iniciado em 2001. No site Oficial de Roland deixou a cargo dos fãs para que dessem sugestões e idéias para o novo projeto criado pelos dois. Nasce nome "Masterplan", baseado na idéia de que eles seriam musicistas mestres com o futuro em suas mãos, sob as palavras do Headbanger – Gerado Trevino Garza (Criador do nome), inicia-se a mais nova banda de Power Metal do novo milênio. Roland posteriormente convidou o baixista Jan S. Eckert, que já havia tocado no Iron Savior e o tecladista Axel Mackenrott e que já tinha participado de várias bandas, dentre elas o (Catch the Rainbow), projeto de Uli que era um tributo ao (Rainbow). Para os vocais, foi convidado Russel Allen, porém o mesmo teve de declinar o convite já que ele estava firme em sua banda (Symphony X). O convite chegou a ser feito para Michael Kiske (lendário ex-vocalista do Helloween), que também recusou a proposta alegando querer manter distância do cenário metal. Em meio à procura e após terem contato com os álbuns da banda norueguesa (Ark), convidaram vocalista Jørn Lande, que já não estava mais na banda. Jørn aceitou o convite da banda preenchendo o posto de vocalista, completando o Masterplan.

Essa é uma das minhas bandas prediletas e de muita gente também, ela foi formada nos EUA em 1992, tenho muitas novidades da banda pra vocês...
Começando com um pedaço de uma entrevista com um dos integrantes da banda que diz que há bandas que não colocam ênfase nas letras.

Alguns trechos da entrevista podem ser vistos abaixo.

Quanto vocês já tem do novo material?
Khan: "Posso dizer que em torno de um terço".

Quando vocês planejam terminar o novo álbum?
Khan: "Bem, planejamos lançar ele no próximo outono (primavera na América do Sul)".

Na música "Temples of Gold" (do álbum "Karma"), há nas letras: "Pouco sabemos que eles eram a própria vida, os dias passam". Isso é poesia pura, você não precisa de uma música por trás disto, é uma peça de poesia que pode se manter em minha mente para sempre. Como você se sente ao tocar tantas pessoas com suas palavras?
Khan: "As letras sempre foram importantes para mim. Há várias bandas que, eu não sei como eles se sentem sobre isto, claro, mas há muitas bandas que eu sinto que não colocam o bastante em suas letras. Nas letras deles algo está faltando. Há outras bandas que tem letras brilhantes. Em nosso gênero eu sinto que há muitas letras que definitivamente poderiam ser melhor trabalhadas, vamos colocar deste jeito. Eu acho que é isso, eu gosto de jogar com as palavras, gosto de dizer coisas em maneiras que farão as pessoas pararem e pensarem. É muito importante para mim, eu realmente gosto de escrever letras. Nem sempre leva tanto tempo, mesmo que as pessoas pensem isso (risos). Muitas das minhas letras foram escritas como no dia anterior ou no mesmo dia que eu entro no estúdio. Eu aparentemente trabalho no meu melhor quando estou sob pressão. Então isso normalmente é feito muito tarde dentro do processo. Foi um pouco diferente com o 'The Black Halo' e o 'Epica', pois a história veio primeiro, é claro, mas em muitas das músicas tivemos apenas a ideia das letras, não a música completa palavra por palavra, mas nós tivemos uma ideia bruta sobre o que a música deveria falar".

Muse

Uma banda de new prog que se formou em 1994. O estilo de Muse é um misto de vários géneros musicais, incluindo rock alternativo, música clássica e electrónica. O banda Muse tornou-se em 16 e 17 de Junho de 2007, a primeira banda a esgotar o recém-construído Estádio de Wembley em Londres.
No inicio os membros do Muse tocaram em bandas diferentes durante os anos que estudaram na Teignmouth Community College e no Coombeshead College no começo dos anos 90. A formação da banda começou de fato quando Bellamy se deu bem em um teste para guitarrista na banda de Dominic Howard. Então eles perguntaram a Chris Wolstenholme, que tocava bateria na época, se ele poderia aprender a tocar baixo e então se juntar a banda. Wolstenholme aceitou e começou a aprender o instrumento.
Em 1994 a banda se chamava Rocket Baby Dolls e então foram participar de uma competição de bandas e eles venceram, destruindo seus instrumentos no processo. "Deveria ter sido um protesto, uma aclamação," Bellamy lembrou, "então nós acabamos vencendo, o que foi um choque. Um grande choque. Depois disso, nós começamos a nos levar a sério." Logo após o termino da competição, os três decidiram não entrar para a universidade, largar os empregos e se mudar para Teignmouth. Eles então decidiram mudar o nome da banda para Muse.

Evanescence é uma banda de metal alternativo dos Estados Unidos, vencedora de dois Grammy Awards, formada em Little Rock, Arkansas em 1995 pela cantora e pianista Amy Lee e o guitarrista Ben Moody.

Depois de gravar dois EPs e um álbum demo chamado de Origin, com a ajuda da Bigwig Enterprises em 2000, a banda lançou o seu primeiro álbum de estúdio, Fallen, com a Wind-up Records em 2003. Fallen vendeu mais de 15 milhões de cópias em todo o mundo e ajudou a banda ganhar dois Grammy Awards. Um ano mais tarde, a banda Evanescence lançou o seu primeiro álbum ao vivo, Anywhere but Home, que vendeu mais de 1 milhão de cópias em todo o mundo. Em 2006, a banda lançou o seu segundo álbum de estúdio, The Open Door, que vendeu mais de 5 milhões de cópias.

Em entrevista exclusiva concedida por telefone ao Jornal da Tarde, Amy Lee, vocalista do Evanescence, falou sobre sua experiência como líder da banda, além da expectativa para o show no Brasil e ainda comentou sobre o atual presidente dos Estados Unidos. Confira alguns trechos da conversa.

Sobre sua fama de mandona:

"Sou ótima líder, comando tudo e sou feliz por isso. Tento ser justa e bondosa com quem trabalha comigo, mas não posso agradar a todos. A imprensa fez as coisas parecerem muito mais dramáticas do que realmente foram (a vocalista demitiu alguns integrantes da banda e processou seu ex-empresário por assédio sexual)".

Experiência adquirida à frente do EVANESCENCE:

"Aprendi que você tem de trabalhar como uma empresa. Hoje, posso afirmar que nos amamos e tudo corre bem".

O Pink Floyd são reconhecidos pelos seus prodigiosos espectáculos ao vivo, que combinam as mais modernas experiências visuais com a sua música para criar um espectáculo onde os próprios artistas são quase secundários. Os Pink Floyd, nos seus primeiros tempos, foram das primeiras bandas a usar jogos de luzes próprios nos seus espectáculos, projectavam slides e filmes e formas psicodélicas numa grande tela circular. Mais tarde foram adicionados aos espectáculos efeitos especiais, incluindo lasers, pirotecnia e balões gigantes.

Curiosidade:
O espectáculo mais elaborado que os Floyd montaram foi o da digressão de The Wall, no qual um grupo de músicos contratados tocava a primeira canção usando máscaras de borracha (provando assim que os membros da banda não eram reconhecidos pelas suas personalidades individuais). Depois, um gigantesco muro era erguido, separando a banda da audiência e que no final do espectáculo era demolido por explosões.

O grupo foi um dos mais populares na década de 1970 e da história do rock. Célebre pela sua inovação e por ser um dos criadores do heavy metal,a banda também incorporou elementos de gêneros como rockabilly, reggae, soul, funk, jazz, entre outros.

Seus álbuns venderam mais de 300 milhões cópias em todo o mundo, (incluindo 109 milhões de vendas nos Estados Unidos). Foram também os únicos a colocar todos seus álbuns no Top 10 da parada norte-americana Billboard.

Um pouco sobre a banda:

As várias tendências musicais do grupo foram fundidas no seu quarto álbum, sem título, que é usualmente chamado de "Zoso", "Four Symbols" ou simplesmente "Led Zeppelin IV". Não apenas o álbum não tinha nome, mas o nome da banda também não aparecia em sua capa. O álbum incluía temas como "Black Dog", o misticismo folk de "The Battle Of Evermore" (cuja letra foi inspirada em "O Senhor dos Anéis") e a combinação dos dois estilos em "Stairway to Heaven", um sucesso estrondoso nas rádios, aclamada por muitos como sendo o maior clássico do rock de todos os tempos. O álbum contém ainda uma memorável regravação de "When The Levee Breaks" de Memphis Minnie.

Pena que o baterista bateu as botas e eles resolveram desfazer o grupo, más nos sonzinhos de mais de milhões de pessoas ainda tocam as melhores e únicas músicas do Led Zeppelin. Que bom!!!

Um pouco mais sobre a banda:

Uma banda de pop rock banda surgiu em meados de 1992, algum tempo depois da vocalista Leigh Bingham (que adotaria o "Nash" só mais tarde) e o guitarrista Matt Slocum se conhecerem eu um retiro cristão. O nome veio em referência a uma passagem do livro Cristianismo Puro e Simples, de C.S. Lewis.

Lançou ao todo sete álbuns, sendo dois deles após o fim da banda e uma coletânea. Sixpence None the Richer (álbum homônimo) e Divine Discontent entraram na lista da Billboard.

Dentre os singles lançados (cinco ao todo), "Kiss Me" de 1999, ganhou um disco de ouro. Outros dois singles entraram na lista da Billboard: There She Goes e Don't Dream it's Over.

A banda participou de vários projetos, dentre os quais, estão incluídos City on a Hill, Roaring Lambs e Exodus.

Teve também algumas de suas músicas incluídas em diversos filmes como Ela é demais e Como Perder um Homem em 10 Dias (música "Kiss Me"), Mais que o acaso (com Ben Affleck) (músicas "Need to be next to you" e "Love"), entre outros.
