Colleen's Critter Creations Update

For those who are interested in knowing why things have been so quiet at Colleen's Critter Creations, there were a few different issues that happened in the late fall and early winter to keep me from being creative. Some were personal and others kept designs from being created and uploaded.

The good news is progress is being made again. I finally decided to get a new computer to handle the programs and storage of the designs being created. Thanks to a 'computer doctor' who helped save a lot of work not backed up when the old computer started to 'croak' on me, I still have my templates to work from to help in creating new/updated designs.

I have started uploading designs at a few select places and may get back to uploading at CafePress again soon. The first designs I concentrated on were Cardigan Welsh Corgi related. As I really wanted to have some Cardigan Christmas designs up and was not able to get uploaded in time for the holiday, I decided they were the first to be updated and uploaded.

If you want to see the latest Welsh Corgi designs, you will have to visit my Zazzle shop. I also hope to have some of these designs up my CafePress store soon. There are some new greeting cards designs up at my Greeting Card Universe store. It has been slow going, but I am slowly getting back up to speed.

And to those who have signed up for my newsletter, I hope to have an issue come out by the end of the month. I have to retool something that I was hoping to have up and running before we started 2008.

Changing some things up at HOME!

The home site has now been updated. It is hoped to make all our sites follow the same theme. It may be a while for it to follow here at the News Blog, but keep an eye out!

Apologies out to any of the newsletter subscribers waiting the next bit of news. I did not want to send it out without having gotten some other items lined up. These items are discussed in the upcoming newsletter. There are still plans for a way to earn a free item, but it may have to be adjusted from earlier plans. It is coming soon though!

Latest Bits and Coming Soons

Quick note about what has been updated and what will be coming soon. Finally have a 2008 Welsh Corgi Calendar created at CafePress. It features a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a Cardigan Welsh Corgi in a 12 month format.

Have recently added a Zazzle shop to the mix of places to get Welsh Corgi gift items. There is a Welsh Corgi Store, where I am able to offer a 15 month 2008 Welsh Corgi Calendar. Featuring the same Welsh Corgis mentioned above.

Coming in the near future is the chance to 'win' a free calendar. I have a few small parts that need to be set up before I can state the details of this offer. There is a plan to update the ornaments for the holiday season and are happy to say I will be able to offer Cardi Butts ornaments this year. A newsletter should be coming out within the next two weeks. The New Newsletter Is Out

If you have not done so already, make sure to sign up for our new newsletter. It is called the Corgi Communique. You can sign up at the bottom of this page. The newsletter gives the location of any special sales sections I have set up and also any special coupons. I will send out the first newsletter to any new subscribers.

Getting Ready to Send New Newsletter

Cardi Butts Are Back!

Yes, it is true. The Cardi Butts Drive Me Nuts! design in back in business. New and Very Improved, I think! I hope you agree. Hope to have more news to share this weekend. Will be offering more items for sale with old and new designs.

Other News! Plus Sizes are now offered. If you have a particular design you like and don't find it on plus sized apparel, please let me know. I am still in the process of adding them to my shop.

I should let you know that while I will continue to offer items through CafePress, I have found a few other opportunities to share my artwork and photography for those who love my Corgi related items (and the other critters too!). I will be announcing these other items here soon.

Sometimes ideas just come to you and you need to get them out. I had an idea and here is the result with a little help from some great friends. More Things Occurring

Well, I have been busy working on website details here and for a friend. This work means I was not able to update my Cardigan Welsh Corgi behinds in time for Christmas. I apologize for those who were really looking forward to them this year. I am closer to having them completed. They do not quite look like how I want them too. Once I have them completed, I plan on offering the designs at a discount for one month. If you want to get one, check back in the New Year. I cannot promise when I will get them done and uploaded, so you will just have to check back. I hope to post it in my next newsletter which should come out next month.

Hopefully those who are familiar with my stuff will have noticed my new title bar and menu selections. There is not much to see with my home page, but you will find a variety of items to check out in the other areas. After my home page link is my Corgis & Other Critters shop link. This is my CafePress shop which I offer a variety of designs and photography I have done on different items available for sale.

Next on my menu bar is my Gallery link. I have done some photography events and you can see what I have done for fun and for "work." The Bichon Bash and the Sun Fire Stables links are events I was 'hired' as a photographer. I do not call myself a professional, but plan on getting more education and practice to see where it will take me. My corgi boy, Porter, is in most of the other images in my Gallery.

The next link is to this News Blog. Where I hope you will come for the most recent news for my CafePress shop and now possibly others. I am in the works for checking out another program with some different items offered and possibly some other avenues to bring other Corgi Lovers items that they will enjoy. It will not be all Corgi related--the animal lover in me would not like that.

The last menu link which was added tonight and will be added shortly to the menu bar in this News Blog is for my "Corgis 'n More Store." It is a link that will come up in a new window. It will allow you to shop for my designs that I have available at CafePress and also incorporates some products from other artists and designers I enjoy. There are some great Corgi designs that some of you may never have seen. I wanted a way to show you what is out there besides my designs.

Apologies for Disappearance

For those of you who have tried checking in for news, I do apologize for my absence. Life took me on a strange road. While there are still uncertain circumstances in my future, I hope to get back on track with my shop.

I have started the process to get my own website, so please stayed tuned. I will share the address soon. You may even be able to guess the address, but I have not set up anything at the moment there. I am also in the process of setting up a site for my venture into pet photography. A friend got me involved in some pet photography opportunities which are coming up soon.

I have also been spending more time getting my Pembroke Welsh Corgi in shape for some different canine competitions. While my focus has faded from my shop and blog, I do want to get back into things again. Please stay tuned!

Another Quick Update

My apologies to you all. I am trying to get a newsletter out and have had a few requests come in for the Corgis & Other Critters shop. I am still in the middle to trying to update my shop.

There are no good excuses. I have not quite adjusted to getting back into the working world. I would love to say my shop brings in enough to concentrate on it fully, but that is not the truth. My time has been come limited to things I can do as compared to this summer when I could work on it all day/every day. Things are starting to fall into place, but it is not happening soon enough for the holidays. I am going to focus on the shop and get requests wrapped up over this next week. I do hope to have the next newsletter come out next weekend.

I have put the two kinds of Fuzzy Butt Christmas ornaments on sale. Please drop me a line and let me know if you would like to personalize one with a name or extra fuzzy behinds. See previous post for this idea.

Thank you to those of you who have left me a note in the guest book and who have emailed me. It lets me know others do find joy in my designs. Off to spend a little time with my own Fuzzy Butt Corgi.

Quick Update

I am hoping to have 'official' news and updates up this coming weekend. Due to starting a new job, my schedule for updating the store and blog are a little off. Changes are occurring to the store set up and should be done over the next month.

I do want to let those of you who may be interested know I will do some personalization for Christmas gifts. If you would like to get an idea of what I can do, I recently did this gift design for a friend. Thankfully, she has been told not to visit here for the next month and agreed. This design combines four different behinds to represent her 'herd' of Corgis.

Please do not be shy about contacting me about personalization or customizing something for you. There is no extra charge to this request. If I do get a high number of requests, there could be a slight delay in meeting the demand. Requests will be taken until 12/12/2005. Just want to make sure you have time to order your gifts prior to the holiday.

1st Newsletter Out & Sales Changes

Due to some weird situations, my first newsletter did not go out on my planned timeline. It was my hope to have it out by the end of September and make sure to update my sales section. Things may have taken an extra few days, but the newsletter went out and I updated the sales section. I know I only have a small number of subscribers and hope that the number increases over time.

Why subscribe? Well, my few subscribers are going to find out about a special section I have for them. They also found out about some things I have not discussed here. I have few ideas which are being developed. Once I have a better idea/plan, I will share here. If you are worried about getting hit with a bunch of newsletters, please know I have no plans on sending out a newsletter more than once a month. It took a bit of time to really get this first one put together.

As for other news, I have put some new items up for sale in my sales section. You may notice a new design in there. I have started to add more to my "Got Corgi/Cardi Fuzz?" sections. Right now, I only have one design up on items. I hope to have a few others added this week. Please keep watch as I hope to have all colors of my Corgi butts up with their own fuzzy butt designs.

I am also in the revamping stage. While the colors and basic look of the shop will stay the same, I am trying to implement a new way of shopping my site. It will be more design focused. Hopefully, it will make it easier for shoppers to find something they like much more quickly. I am trying to make these changes behind the scenes and will bring them to the forefront once everything is in place.

Sales Reminder and Other News

Just in case anyone is checking, my special sales section will be changing in approx. 72 hours. If there is an item you wanted in the sales section, you had better order by then. New items will be available for sale and it might be a new design offered too. Working on getting some new designs loaded and up on products soon.

CafePress has started an affiliate program. It is still in Beta mode, but is now open for more people to sign up. If you are interested in being an affiliate of Corgis & Other Critters or just of CafePress, please see their Affiliate information/sign-up area. I should be offering some special banners soon for those interested in being an affiliate to Corgis & Other Critters.

My first newsletter will be going out in the next day or two. I have a few members signed up and if you want to find out about a 'special' special sales section, you need to sign up. Yes, I am offering those who choose to get my newsletter a extra special deal. The newsletter will only go out every month or two. I do not believe in spamming and will only use the newsletter to share news and special deals. Much like this blog, but it could be a little more informational in the newsletter.

New Shop Sales Section

I am offering a cut on prices on select items. The items will change from time to time. I am open to shoppers making suggestions on those items they would like to see come up for sale. Newest Products and Designs!

Some more good news coming your way! We have new products to work with and more should be coming out every month or two. Check the side bar on the main page. There you should see a rotating display of new products and some new designs.

I am starting to gear up a bit for Christmas. I have become like the department stores that drive me insane. We have not even had Halloween yet and here I am getting ready for Christmas! I have two different ornaments designed and have plans for some other items.

Please drop me a line or leave a message in my guestbook for any suggestions you want to make. If there is anyone who owns a red/white Pem and a brindle Cardi and wants a Got Corgi Fuzz item, and they let me know about their 'kids.' I am more than willing to put two different butts together if you like the Got Corgi Fuzz design. Just think of the possibilities, having a special product related to your own corgis.

Big News For Little Shop

Considering I have been on the revamp things path and really looking at advertising avenues, it was a very nice surprise this past Friday. As my main shop Corgis & Other Critters focuses on both Welsh Corgi breeds, I was asked to donate some items for the 2005 PWCCA National Specialty Volunteer Raffle. I could not have gone out and received better exposure. I have just ordered the items that should be on their way shortly into the hands of the requester. I am also updating my business cards and making a special flyer for the event.

Wonder if you can feel my smile over the 'net waves. I am very happy to help and in turn I hit part of my core audience. Thanks to the new affiliate program that CafePress is developing, I am also looking to help out some dog rescues, particularly the Corgi rescues. As an affiliate, if a rescue group signs up and links to my shop, for every sale I make due to them sending traffic my way...they will get 20%. What makes it even more fantastic, the program is free to sign up as an affiliate. I am in the process of doing some ground work to get started on this new adventure too.

I am also busy working on a project for a friend. So far, she is my biggest "Special Request" customer and it appears my greatest asset in the 'word of mouth' advertising. I may have more work thanks to Paula.
