And the reason for this delay in the launch are our mentors, our teachers. How many of these so called "Mentors" want us to ignite our own rockets?

" Your opinion is wrong. What thoughts you possess are incorrect, non-reliable and they'll surely fail. "

Now that is what I call motivating your students, igniting their minds - not for the search of knowledge but in frustration.

Now lets admit that we all have different perceptions and different opinions, but then why do our teachers expect us to think like themselves. You are teaching us a subject called Business Strategy, nice, very nice.

So we expect that you would have mastered the strategy of business. But is it ?

Ummmm . . . No . . . not necessarily. It can be a perfect case where you have started 3 businesses for three different companies out of which only 1 was successful, and you are teaching us Business Strategy.

Just because you have a PhD from some college.

You are teaching a subject called Consumer Behavior and whatever opinion the students put across is wrong, simply because we are students. And you on the other hand hate the Indian culture and way of living, which in reality is the most diverse and complex of all the international ways of living. Which has taught Marketing gurus more than the ABCD of marketing, which has shown the world the alpha, beta and gamma of marketing.

My sole point here is that until the opinions of students aren't respected or taken into consideration, we cant grow, we cant add value, we cant innovate and we surely cant ignite our rockets.

dot - a small round mark made with or as with a pen

One dot is almost equivalent to 0. But still this dot is important. This dot can be the starting point for us, a point from which a pen starts writing and the ideas start flowing.

This dot can also represent the end.

But what happens when these dots connect ?

Innovation happens.

The reason being there is no definite image that these dots form. It all depends upon the perception and intelligence of the connector of these dots.

So why in the world are bunch of people holding a PG degree in their hand sitting in an office doing something they should not be doing?

Are we dots who have not connected? Are we dots who don't want to connect? Are we dots possessing so much innovation that it has translated into a 0?

The best of what I can interpret is that it is a conspiracy of these huge conglomerates against these dots like us. We dots are so powerful that these conglomerates can be over run, but still more than ideas the monetary power matters.

You have capital and you have ideas, you score. You have ideas and no capital, they score.

Still we have to join these conglomerates and help them become an image that we are not satisfied with.

The problem is that as a dot all we want to become is a line, but it is high time we realize that a dot can become more than a line.

It can become anything (dot)

The Petrol Head

I know we all are worrying about fuel prices shooting up. And as of now its a major concern for people like us who have just started throwing around the money we earn.

But is it fair ? I mean we didn't deplete that fuel reserve on Earth. We dint ask the British and French to come with a good for nothing Concorde? So why should we - the petrol heads suffer?

Why can't we drive a Ford Mustang Shelby or a Chevy Camaro to work ? Why do we have to use a freaking two wheeler for god sake ? (And mind you, am not talking about show off , its pure driving pleasure !!)

Answer - Coz cars gulp down fuel . No literally they do. I have proof -

(about the Ferrari F40) And what I love is that when you're on the over-run, and you take your foot of the throttle, listen!... there are these huge bounces... just dumps great wads of unburnt fuel into the exhaust... FOR FUN!

Why do we need to have big, huge cars ?

I don't think purchasing a car is a problem nowadays, its mainly maintaining and running a car that is a problem.

Ask me for a solution and i look upto Fiat for some innovation.

Now what if they design a car like Punto and make it feel like a Maserati Quattroporte ?

Am serious.

Would you even care if your car is small then ?

If it has a sat-nav, leather upholstery, a nice V6, a push start button, a button which says in big bold letters and coloured in red " S ", a sound that gives a warning every time you stab your foot on the metal. Yes it will be on the expensive side to purchase but it will give you unmatched performance and a much better Mileage than a cross-eyed Ascari A10, and it wont fall apart.

SO it will be simple, Power when you need it, and Mileage when your wife is sitting next to you.

Naughty and Nice . Wont it bring out the 10 year old kid in you and shake him up half to death ?

and make you grin like an idiot when there is an M5 standing next to you on a traffic light ?

Just think once and you'll already have that silly grin on your face ... :)

As we emerge on this stage of 2010, we hardly knew what the Indian consumers are going to come across.
And it very well seems that Automotive enthusiasts as well as the Indian consumers are in for a perfect bash at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. As the India Auto Expo opened up for the general public on Thursday,a massive crowd converged on gate seven, as a thick morning fog still stuck to the ground.

When the Auto Expo started 24 years ago there were few models on Indian roads. It was the curious rather than consumers that flocked to the event. For much of the 90s and 00s, any new model just had to show up to stir up at least some initial interest.

Today things have changed.

I say this, and which may seem quite absurd to you, is the reason for brands such as Mercedes Benz have planned to assault the Indian luxury segment by presenting all of their available ARSENAL, to be launched in India in 2010.

And wait for this, Mercedes Benz is set to launch the super-exclusive SLS AMG supercar, ready to swallow the competition with its gullwing beauty.

And I am still counting the total number of cars that are to be launched in 2010. The ET says, the count is 50 new cars in 2010. :-o

The Hatchback segment is going to get hottest this year. VW has launched its Polo, Chevrolet - Beat, Nissan is in with its Micra, Ford plans to make a comeback with Figo, Toyota is also planning to race to the bottom with Etios.

I can give you an instance that shows how significantly important the Indian small car market is to these big manufacturers -
Yoshinori Noritake, chief engineer at Toyota Motors shuttled back and forth between India and Japan more than 30 times over the last three years to figure out how to build a Toyota aimed squarely at the emerging market driver. He measured people's parking lots and drove with them to see how they used their cars.

One thing is for sure - Next time you decide to buy a car, its gonna get tougher for the marketer and for the consumer as well.
