Curtis James Jackson III is an American Rapper who has caused much controversy over his anti-social ways, his explicit album lyrics (Get Rich or Die Trying was his 2003 album shown above) and his public feuds. His drug dealing mother was shot when he was in his early teens leaving him to be brought up by his grandparents. Curtis got his first rapping break in 1996 after which his career went from strength to strength until he found himself involved in an ambush in 2000 in which he was allegedly shot nine times. It was while he was recovering in hospital that he decided to take himself seriously as a leader and a self made man. It was then that he started to read the works of Robert Green.
The book is a modern day "self help" business manual, taking stories from the life of 50 cent and contextualising them to an every day business philosophy. The key learning surrounds the management of fear. The book states that there is too much fear in today's society. 21st century America is safer and more equitable than ever while its people seem paralysed by fear and unable to move forward. This book offers up strategies and insights for self development and helps people everywhere to learn not to fear the moving of the cheese. The book draws some parallels with the Secret in as much as we should visualise success in order to help us reach our goals.

God of War Collection Review

God of War was one of the greatest games on the PS2, garnering much praise for its cinematic style and smooth gameplay.

Its sequel, God of War II, was praised in the same areas, and for pushing the PS2 to its absolute limit. The God of War Collection combines these two great games into one cheap package and promises a few graphical upgrades. The question is: Is the God of War Collection worth it? Yes, provided you haven’t played these games before.
Starting up the God of War Collection on your PS3, you are presented with a pretty basic menu that simply asks which of the two games you’d like to play. Once chosen, you’re brought to the same exact main menu presented in the original PS2 versions. Starting a new game presents the same opening cinematics and all. To put it bluntly: these are the same exact games as in the original PS2 editions.The graphics in the God of War games were always top-notch, and they still generally hold up in the Collection. One of the most touted features of this collection is that the games run at 720p and 60 frames per second. This generally makes the games look better, but it also tends to show off the low polygon counts therein. Still, it is a nice upgrade that newcomers and returning players should appreciate. However, some of the pre-rendered CGI scenes stick out like a sore thumb. These pre-rendered scenes were not originally rendered in 720p, which is what the rest of the game renders at, so they tend to be a bit grainy and pixelated compared to the in-game scenes.
Another exclusive feature to these versions is the added trophy support. I consider myself to be a goal-oriented game player, so these were a welcome addition to these new, updated versions. They vary from defeating certain bosses, collecting power-ups, and beating the games at different difficulties.
The aforementioned are the only things that are new in the God of War Collection, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. With the upgrade to 60 FPS and 720p, the games look as beautiful as ever. On the one hand, for newcomers to the series, this is the best way to experience these games, so they are highly recommend to anyone playing them for the first time. On the other, for those coming back for a second taste, it’s difficult to recommend because there is nothing new to draw you in, except the updated graphics.
However, this collection retails for only $40 and includes the God of War 3 demo along with trophy support, so picking this up still wouldn’t be a bad idea for those looking to play through them again. Plus, this collection shows just how great the God of War games were and still are, and the God of War 3 demo gives a nice taste of what is still to come for the series.

ESRB Cites 'Strong Sexual Overtones' In 'Assassin's Creed 2'

The ESRB pointed its finger at sexual content when it placed a Mature rating on "Assassin's Creed 2," and the spoiler-laden explanation they gave goes into even further detail.

The new sequel has apparently bolstered its content with "sexual overtones" and at least one "seduction mini-game."
"The game contains strong sexual overtones," according to the ESRB. "During one 'seduction mini-game,' players are able to press buttons to kiss a woman and remove her dress; with the woman's back facing the camera, the two characters lower to bed and blow out a candle."
Though no one appears to be getting naked in "AC2," the game does get called out for it's profanity and explicit script.
"Some scenes take place inside brothels, though no nudity or sexual acts are depicted," the report states. "The dialogue contains the following sexual references: 'So the whip or the paddle today?' and 'Does your wife know about your page-boy fantasies, Captain?'"
Character backstories also contain references to "adultery, sodomy, prostitution, and rape," which together with the aforementioned details firmly placed the title in the Ratings Board's Mature bracket.
So don't go into "AC2" expecting explicit visual titillation, but it sounds like the script and story have sufficient subject matter to warrant an M on the box, which, it should be noted, was exactly what the first "Assassin's Creed" received as well.

Twitter Starts Charging in Japan

We knew it would happen at some point. Twitter is introducing a new payment model that will charge Japanese followers to view tweets from premium accounts..

Twitter, the popular micro-blogging service, is supposedly worth … a lot of money. Business valuations range from the slightly ridiculous to the utterly obscene. The fact is: no one knows. Twitter is valued on its potential to earn money — which is probably just as well because it’s not making any.
The changes to Twitter in Japan were announced at the Mobidec2009 conference by Kenichi Sugi, chief operating officer of DG Mobile (one of Twitter’s Japanese investors). From January 2010, Twitter users will be able to charge followers who want to read their tweets. Monthly charges will range from $1.15 to $11.60 (US Dollars); the account holder will receive 70% with the rest going to Twitter itself. Followers can opt to pay their subscription fees by credit card or as an additional payment on their mobile phone bill.
Twitter regularly uses the Japanese market to assess new features. Currently, Japan is the only country where Twitter makes any money — primarily because it permits web page advertisements. Twitter has made no announcement regarding other territories, but premium accounts will certainly appear if the project becomes a success.
Will it work? I’m not convinced many Twitter users would be able to charge for their inane ramblings, but who knows? However, premium accounts could work for:
agencies providing up-to-date news and gossip, or
companies offering personalized information services, e.g. sending you a tweet when your web server goes down or when a share price reaches a certain level.
Even then, the information is usually available elsewhere on the Internet for little or no cost.

Guitar Hero: Van Halen

It's been a long, strange journey for Guitar Hero: Van Halen.

After being announced with little fanfare from Activision, the game was then buried into a corner of the Sony booth at E3 2009, like a shamed child sitting in the corner with a dunce cap on. The game resurfaced again during the early fall in an even more dubious fashion – it was being given away for approximately zero dollars with the purchase of Guitar Hero 5, months before the official release... three days before Christmas. Games that ultimately get canceled don't get buried like this game has been. That's what makes it all the more surprising that this third attempt at a band-specific Guitar Hero game isn't all that bad; it's actually pretty decent, with a good selection of songs that are pretty fun to play, especially on guitar. Sure, it's about a band that hasn't been culturally relevant since Bill Clinton was president, and the game itself completely ignores all Van Halen tunes after 1985, making the game even less relevant to modern music fans. But it's still Guitar Hero, the franchise is still pretty enjoyable, and GH: Van Halen is no exception. Unless you're a Sammy Hagar fan. Then you're probably sad.

Mafia Wars Creator: "We Did Every Horrible Thing in the Book"

Earlier this week, we delivered the news that EA purchased the social-networking focused developer Playfish for $300 million.

In the wake of that, our own John Davison penned a story opining about the value of other casual-gaming developers. One such company--in fact, the biggest of them, Zynga--has admitted it used less-than-ethical tactics to acquire revenue from customers.
Techcruch recently unveiled footage of Zynga CEO Mark Pincus speaking to a group at an tech startup mixer about the methods Zynga used to make their earliest products profitable. The lowlight of his speech is the admission that "I did every horrible thing in the book to, just to get revenues right away."
Particularly, Pincus jokes about how one game encouraged players to download Zwinky, a notoriously difficult to remove toolbar, according to Ignite Social Media.
As John pointed out earlier this week, this part of the game industry is still in its earliest days. If it hopes to catch up with the rest of the industry, more regulations and ethical standards will have to be developed and implemented.

New Super Mario Bros was originally released on the DS and was an instant hit!

Why wouldn’t it be, it’s Nintendo, and it’s Mario? The series has now found its way to the Wii, the classic side-scrolling game has great feelings of nostalgia, great visuals despite being 2D and wonderful gameplay. Yep, if there’s one Nintendo game you’re getting this holiday season, it should definitely be New Super Mario Bros Wii. That is, unless you expect to play online.
New Super Mario Bros Wii (NSMB) goes back to the roots, to the 2D side scrolling action that made Mario famous, this time with revamped visuals (doh) and 4 player support. It’s safe to say that the multiplayer is the best part of the game, but we’ll get back to that later. The core gameplay hasn’t changed much since the original Super Mario debuted on the NES — you run around, jump around, solve puzzles and deal with tons of enemies, like those pesky brown mushrooms. However, if you get stuck, the game has a “Super mode”, which automatically plays through the level, giving you an example on how to complete the level. The mode can also be used to show hidden coins, passages etc. It’s a great feature, but it sort of takes away some of the “exploring” feel of playing, and it does feel a bit like cheating.
The multiplayer is where the game shines. At any point in the game, up to three friends can join you and help you through the level, which is great fun, as you might imagine. However, while one of your buddies plays as Luigi, the other two are generic Toad characters. What happened to Yoshi? Kirby? The dozen other Nintendo characters? There’s also a competitive multiplayer option, where you play against each other in a race to collect the most coins.
But, quite stunningly, and quite as expected, the game doesn’t support online multiplayer. This is really getting annoying from Nintendo’s part, as online multiplayer obviously would have made the game even better. But alas, it seems that Nintendo has pretty much given up on online gameplay on the Wii, and the console is hopelessly trailing its competitors. Nintendo seriously needs to get their act together and realize there’s a thing called “online gaming”.

Keen-eyed fashionistas have noted the remarkable, some might say unfuckingcanny, resemblance between the cover image of the 47-year-old Ms. Moore and 26-year-old Anja Rubik's recent spin on the runway in the same Balmain swimsuit and wrap. The body, the pose, the position of the arms – they're all oddly similar.

Maybe it's just what they call in publishing a "coinkydink." In the story that coincides with the cover image, Kevin West says that, "One might say she looks her age, although hers is an undeniably striking version of middle age." "Striking," in this case, is apparently code for "exactly like a model 21 years her junior."The sad part, aside from the apparent lame-ass whopper of the whole thing, is that Moore, a stunning, talented actress and producer in her own right, claims in the story that she likes that people are "getting to see who I am." We're seeing somebody all right. But we're not convinced that someone is Moore.

As you can see from the title of my website – “Recording Wiz,” I’m all about making the whole recording process easy, whether it has to do with recording audio OR recording video. Mostly, here at www.recordingwiz.com, I talk about audio recording and podcasting, mainly because it’s much easier to listen to something at any time, than to have to watch while you’re listening. In fact, when you’re in the car or on the treadmill or simply walking down the street, your eyes are everywhere, but your ears can be in tune with whatever happens to be on your iPod or mp3 device.

1. Dial your run in. Gauge your proper speed and stay on your heel edge going into the jump.

2. Once you leave the lip, start the rotation by leaning back and dropping your front shoulder back. This will cause you to begin rotating your feet almost over your head for the actual underflip.
