Recently i have passed through a website discussing about getting traffic for websites. It was talking about generating traffic from yahoo answers. When i go through the comments of that site i found many interested to get traffic in that way. Is it any good way?

The answer is no. But for a newbie it can be a dangerous thing to do. In yahoo answers many people ask questions and any one can answer that. Sometimes people answer the question and leave a link to their sites. But if you go through yahoo answers guidelines you can not post your website link in answers if it is associated with affiliate programs.

The main point is you can not promote your site. Yahoo answers take these kind of attempt very seriously and banned the account as soon as they can. Some people are too fool to make a new account and get banned again.

So what is the bad point here? The bad point is if you do so you will be accused for spamming. Once you are accused of spamming your website will be removed from search engines index, your web host will deny to further serve you and you can not find a new one.

If you use any free web host they will also ban you. So do not blindly follow any tips to get traffic. This type of attempt can get some traffic for a little period of time but will leave along lasting bad impact for you.

Work hard to make your content rich and just follow the basic rules to get traffic.

Online money making has become more easier than any time since Google introduced Adsense program. Everyday a lot of people knowing about this program and trying to participate in it. As a website is the basic requirement to participate in this program, new people have to think to make a website.

When people are going to make a website they are making a serious mistake of making duplicate content. Many new AdSense publisher are not beware of this and not earning as much as they hoped and sometime these duplicate contents are helping them to get banned.

If you go through Google AdSense program policies you will find a line saying
"Website publishers may not display Google ads on web pages with content protected by copyright law unless they have the necessary legal rights to display that content".

KONTERA FREE EARNING OPPORTUNITY

You can earn through Kontera ad network by displaying content link ads. Kontera.com is getting more popularity as no additional ad space is required to display Kontera ads. Kontera use CPC( cost per click) model to pay its publishers. The minimum payout is 100 US dollars and one will get paid through check. How to increase your Adsense earning? It is easy to ask and easy to answer but not that easy to implement. Sometimes small changes make a big difference. These small changes means generally optimization in ad colors, ad placement and ad format.

An article has been published on Newsweek(Nov 5) about Google.According to that article Google is more vulnerable than anyone think.I am not as much wise as to comment about vulnerability of Google.I am just trying to share what i feel.

According to that article,dissatisfaction is growing about Google search.People are not getting from Google search what they expect.Their is no doubt that Google is the most popular search engine.According to that article 60 percents of web searchers use Google where as its closest competitor Yahoo get 12 percents searchers.

Google search is so popular for its relevant search results.But people are starting to say its not that relevant as they want.I feel sometimes i am not getting the best ten or twenty results on a search.Actually no one need more than one if he find his desired result.

But if unexpected results keep coming on a search engine people will try to get another search engine if that can provide better search result.Why these unexpected results are coming?I feel backlink is one of the main cause of it.Generally the exact factors to determine the position of a web page in a search is only known to search engineers.But we all know backlink is one of the major factor of it.

Google provide results according to the PageRank of a page.One of the factor to determine PageRank of a page is quantity,quality and relevance of its backlinks.A better or more relevant site can fall behind if it has less or no backlinks than other relevance site.Here is the Google Help on improving PageRank of a Page.

It says one of it lines that "In general, webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by increasing the number of high-quality sites that link to their pages".So webmasters are trying to get links to their page through link exchange program as paid links are not allowed.Here is what Google says about paid link.

Here is Link Schemes of Google.If you go through it you will find excessive link exchange can harm PageRank of a site.

So at this point one may think if search engines ignore that backlinks that came through link exchange the bad effect of backlinks can be minimized.Is that true?NO.

There will be other ways to exchange links if reciprocal links are banned by search engines.If some webmasters decide to exchange links they can easily do it by exchanging links among themselves and not with each other.Let me give an example.

Among 10 websites a website can link to other 5 web pages.Those 5 web pages can get link from other 5 web pages excluding than one they are pointing to.Not all web site will get 5 baclinks but some maths can do the optimization.If each of these 10 sites get involved in another circles a huge chain of backlinks will grow.So bots will fail to identify them.And it is the truth of universe for all time that computer programs can not win over human brains for all time.

So exclusion of manual link exchange is not the solution of the problem that rising for backlinks.I feel attention on backlinks to measure a page value is becoming another obsolete method like relying on title and meta tags,contents keywords etc. that search engines used before.

I feel time has come for search engines to find an alternative better way to measure page value.

The basic rule of search engine optimization is to keep building good contents. Some other things to follow:

1. SUBMIT YOUR SITE IN SEARCH DIRECTORIES
Submit your site to the major three search engine directories if your site isn't indexed in that search engine.

One should not misunderstand that submitting site to search engine directory isn't the only way to get indexed. Search Engine like Google automatically crawl a site by their boat and index it. So before submitting your site to a search engine directory be sure your site is not already indexed. If you not see your site making a search with your site URL in a search Engine then you can be sure your site isn't already indexed in that search Engine.

Three major Search Engine directory:

For Google :http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
For Yahoo :http://dir.yahoo.com/
For Msn :http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx

This may help their boat to crawl and index your site. Getting listed in Google and MSN is free. In case of Google you can use their Webmaster Tools. If you use Google Webmaster Tools no need to submit your URL in their directory. Yahoo has both free and with cost option. But don't keep submitting. Cause that may help you to ban your site from that search engine. And keep in mind submitting URL to any directory doesn't mean your site will be listed.

2. PUT YOUR KEYWORD IN YOUR TITLE AND META TAG
Put the keyword for which you wish to be found in search results. Read here how to put keyword in title and meta tag.

3. MAKE YOUR KEYWORD HYPER LINKED
Sometimes you will be wanting to put a link in your text. Proper words should be chosen. If you have a gardening site and you want to make a link in your texts for a URL that contains gardening tips. Here are two examples:

Search engines use bots( computer robots) to crawl a site. It is also known as spider or crawler. When a crawler find a new website,it is indexed in search engines directory. After getting listed in a search engine directory its value is determined on various factors.

Google calls this value as PageRank. What are the exact factors to determine PageRank is only known to Google search engineers. One of the main factor is backlink. Backlink is a link from other site to a site. Generally those types of backlinks are counted that came from a relevant and high quality site.

Not every pages of a web site get same PageRank. Those type of pages get more PageRank that are more valuable to users in according to Google.

Other search engines like Msn works in same manner. So a page with more quality backlinks get a higher pageRank and likely to come up in top positions in search results for its relevant keyword.

2.EXCESSIVE KEYWORD STUFFED CONTENT: By putting excessive keyword was another technique to get more attention to search engine bots. Putting unnecessary keywords repeatedly not only give a bad impression to users but also help your site to remove from search engines index.

So the primary tasks to earn through Google Adsense are

1. To make a website if you don't have any. If you already have a website then to
justify is it ready to apply Adsense.

2. Sign up for Adsense

3. Placing Google ads on your website.

4. Driving traffic( bringing visitors) to your site and earn through it.

The primary tasks seem pretty easy. But earning through Adsense will not be as easy as it seems if you not follow the basic rules. The most important point is Adsense is no quick way to be rich. So if you make a hurry without a proper plan you can not make a success. Success to me means earning a minimum of 1000$ per month.
You can bring success to you by cost of your time. It will not come overnight. It can take few months or more. First few months you have to work on an average of 2/3 hrs a day. After that 2/3 hrs a week is sufficient.
