In fact, the complete lack of sales pressure and the simplicity of our products are the main reasons so many Scentsy customers decide to become Consultants. Q: What are the advantages of direct selling?

Q: How much can I expect to earn?

A: The amount you can earn depends completely on how much time and energy you want to invest. Consultants make 20-25% commission on their own sales as well as additional bonuses on the sales of other Consultants they sponsor. Some of our Consultants opt to sell just enough to get their Scentsy products at a discount, while our SuperStar Directors can make six-figure incomes per year.

Q: What other benefits does Scentsy offer to Consultants?

Q: What kind of support and training does Scentsy provide?

Q: What if this just doesn’t work for me?

When will Consultants be able to sell and sponsor in Australia?

We will open for sales and new enrollments on 1 Sept. 2013

How do new Consultants enroll?

To give new Consultants in Australia the greatest opportunity for success, we’re offering them the option to sign up under another Consultant, or to enroll under Scentsy Family for the first six months. How are items taxed in Australia?

Australia employs a Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 10 percent to most goods and services. The added tax must be included in the listed price of products. For instance, if a Scentsy Warmer is listed at $43 (AUD), that price includes tax.

How are commissions calculated in different countries that use different currencies?

Scentsy has a global Compensation Plan designed to support multiple countries. The commission calculation is: PRV x Commission Percentage x Peg Rate = Commission amount in local currency.

Will Scentsy Family Store products be available? Scentsy Family Store products will be available at launch. These include catalogs; order forms; Host Rewards brochures; Buy, Host, and Join brochures; business cards; and labels. We will let you know about other items as we get closer to launch.

What other tools will be available to new Consultants?

What a whirlwind!

It's been a whirlwind of a week, and I fear that this coming week may be just as crazy, if not worse. Most importantly this past week, yesterday to be exact, my oldest child officially graduated from college with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communications. I cannot even begin to tell you just how proud that makes me. Ridiculous pride. Insane amounts of it. So proud of her!

We had a little fun day at the lake yesterday. I met some very nice new friends and their sweet kiddos. Macy kind of hit it off with the little one too.....

On top of that, we had family photos done recently and I got them this week! So I've been a little obsessed with admiring the beautiful work of Lori Ivey and trying to decide what to order from the shots! Decisions, decisions!

Now I have to pack for a trip to the Dominican Republic for Sara and me! This coming week is about to get crazy!

Aha Moment Alert.

In just 23 short days Sara and I will be traveling to the beautiful Dominican Republic for an all-expenses paid trip with our Scentsy Family. This will be my first incentive trip with Scentsy. And while I have attended many Scentsy events at my own expense and loved them all, I've never earned the yearly incentive trip until now. My heart is full. I cry happy tears when I realize just how much this company cares about its consultant base. With an attitude of always "giving more than taking" they support us, encourage us, give to us, love us.
But for the fact that I earned this trip for myself and a guest, I would probably not have ever been able to afford to take Sara (me oldest daughter) on a trip like this. Single mom. 2 girls. Just sayin. And while we are blessed way beyond what some people may ever achieve (thanks solely to my God above and an extremely supportive extended family), there are some things in life that we all 3 (my girls and I) acknowledge are not within our reach financially. And we're ok with that... most of the time.

To have the opportunity to just do something because it's fun, it earns extra income for my family, I can help others (fundraisers are my favorite), and then earn a free trip for doing that? Having just the simple opportunity to do those things and then receive a trip for 2 (sometimes more depending on the trip) on top of that...there are no words. No words. That's just how much they care, that Orville and Heidi.

Who knew the difference those 2 could make in so many lives and in such a short time?
I am not kidding when I tell you that I seriously joined Scentsy solely to supply myself and my sisters and my mom with Scentsy products. (to support my habit, as I like to say.) Who knew? Who knew that from February 2010 to December of that same year, I would achieve accolades with this company that I had never dreamed, let alone set for myself as goals. (Excuse me while I totally have an "Aha!" moment just as I'm typing this!) Accolades which included reaching the title of Director in less than a year. Accolades which included ridiculous sales numbers in the first months of joining. Accolades that included (this is my favorite) being THE ONE to reach Director, thereby helping my dear sweet sponsor and friend, Jaime Pilcher, reach her goal of SuperStar Director. Who knew?
Why do I share this with you?
Well, for some of you reading this, I want you to try and wrap your head around what I'm telling you. This is so much more than just me being a Scentsy consultant for my benefit. This is about choosing to change your life. Choosing more. Choosing better for your family. Big things are on the horizon with this company. Huge. And I'm gonna be a part of it. And I can't wait to see what that holds for me and my family. But you can be a part of it too. We're not selective. It takes all types to be a part of this family and we will welcome you into our close-knit group at any time, if you want to join us.
For some of you reading this, you are right where I am (some more, some less in achievements, but you are here nonetheless) and you are reading this and nodding your head in agreement with me. You are reading this and it is reaffirming everything you're doing. And I will tell you that if you are one that fits in this category, then you are doing everything right. So keep on moving forward with your "give more than you take" self and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

Some of you are reading this and you're all like "shut up." In fact, you probably stopped reading this at about "I'm not kidding when I tell you..." so you don't even know what you're missing. But here's what I will tell you. Jaime asked me to join her on this ride (1st time she asked me) back in 2007. She mentioned it a few times more through the years but I never gave it a second thought. Until a random day in October of 2009. (I don't know if I've ever told you this story J..so get ready) She was at her annual local event here in Gilmer for the East Texas Yamboree (that's a whole other story on another day...) and I went over to check out what she had. 3 different people walked up, all that I knew personally, and 1 by 1, I was saying to them "shut up. You need to try this. Shut up. I just bought this one and it's fabulous"...and on and on I went, like a child off the ADD meds. If I recall, they all walked away with a purchase. When they left Jaime said to me "girl, do you realize what your doing? You are selling this stuff yourself. Why don't you get in on this?" I left there that day with a strong thought that I would have to get in on this company. But it took me until February 2010 to make it happen. I would go to her website for those months leading up to February almost daily and click on the link to "join" and for some reason I would talk myself out of it. Then I sent her a text one day that simply said something like "shut up. I just signed up! I'm am so nervous! Call me!" The rest is history and a future to be formed that is as bright as the sun. My moral to that rambling is: DON'T PUT IT OFF. DON'T WAIT. DON'T PUT DAYS, WEEKS, MONTHS or YEARS of thought into it. You will beat yourself up later for waiting. It is my ONE AND ONLY regret that I did not go "all in" back in 2007. The ideas that I conjure up of where I could be today had I jumped "all in" in 2007 are astronomically different than where I am today. I'm not complaining. God has reasons for delaying things in our lives. I am right where I need to be. But don't think and over-analyze. You will wear yourself out with "woulda, shoulda, coulda." If you love Scentsy, join for yourself. Support your habit. Even if you say "I can't sell a pop tart to a screaming hungry kid," you will be SHOCKED at the number of your friends and family that will call to order from you, just because it's more convenient for them. You'll be even more surprised at how many people still aren't familiar with Scentsy. I'm just saying. Just do it.

On an added note: I have NEVER done direct sales. For that matter, I had no idea what it was till I joined Scentsy. Really. Didn't take me long to figure it out, but I had to learn the mechanics and that was not hard to do at all. I had NEVER sold a thing in my life. My career has always been in the legal field and parenting. I couldn't even have a garage sale. LOL. The thing that makes doing this so easy is that it's infectious. It's fun. It's exciting. It's easy. And people love this stuff. Even when others try to imitate this product, people leave and go try cheaper. But they always come back. Because its just that good. It's worth calling your consultant to place an order and have it delivered to your doorstep...waiting on you like a gift to be opened when you get home. And filling your home with a scent that brings you a memory from your childhood. Or the date you went on with your husband just a week ago. Or a day at the beach with your awesome kids. Or a pat on the back to yourself for a clean house on a Saturday morning. It's just that simple. It's just that good. And those are the only reasons I joined Scentsy. To support my habit.
For those of you who are reading this because you fall into the category of my corporate Scentsy Family, I share this with you as one of my many "Aha!" moments. I have literally had a moment just as I sit here, in my backyard, writing all of this down. I just don't know if any of you (Joal, Jennifer, Chuck, Coach Lee, Steve, Heather, Consultant Support, and countless others) realize how much of an impact your words are to us. Joal, hush your mouth...this one will make the write up for me. ;).

Heidi, Orville I cannot express the depth of my gratitude, my sheer admiration for you, and the story of you, and how we all came to be. I cannot wrap my little brain around the magnitude of one decision made by two, and how it has trickled down to thousands. And still, you are all humble and real and authentic and simple. Thank you for investing in our futures. Thank you for always giving more than you take. Thank you for this trip. It means the world to me. Sara will be leaving for law school soon and this trip has allowed me to give her something I could have never given her before.

I went to Canton Trade Days yesterday with my girl Macy. The weather was fabulous. When I got to Big Sandy, I asked her if she wanted to go I-20 or Hwy. 80. She preferred 80, so we took the scenic route. It was fabulous. More than once, this song came on the radio.

I love this song. It says so much about small town. If you're like me, and you grew up in a small country town, you know what I'm talking about.

Mineola, Texas, Hwy. 80...the epitome of "small town"

Driving down a highway, dairy cows on one side and cattle on the other. Wide open spaces. Beautiful countryside. Growing up playing in the pasture. Fishing with your daddy. Camping at the lake. Riding your bike to town, not because it was so close, but just because you didn't have to worry about getting snatched up by weirdos, because we didn't really have that problem. Leaving your door unlocked on your house because you were just running to the store. Building a makeshift "campground" in the woods near your house, using whatever there was right there. Going outside early on Saturday morning and staying gone till dark, except to check in for lunch and the occasional snack. That's what my childhood was. And it was great. I wish it were still that way for my kids. To some extent, it is, but some ways of life from back in the day are just not conceivable for my kids. This song evokes those memories for me. All of those happy childhood memories that we keep tucked away until we hit the highway and our mind drifts back to those memories. Yesterday was a beautiful, refreshing day for me.

And then something happened and I must have lost my mind. Macy has begged me for a new Shih Tzu for almost a year now. Her birthday is on the 13th of this month and of course, since we were headed to Canton and she knew we would look at the puppies for sale, (she always wants to go to DogTown at Canton, although I will not ever get a pet from there for several reasons....) she started that conversation again. And she threw in the "it's my birthday week, mom" guilt trip. She had even had a conversation with her sister the day before, and had googled puppies for sale in our local area. So mid-way through our Canton shopping spree, I made the call to a lady in Winnsboro, Texas. She had 2 girls and 1 boy, 8 weeks old, ready to go home with someone. I arranged for us to meet late afternoon. It was immediate. And I knew before I got to her home, that Macy would not be going home empty handed. Her name is Sophie and she is seriously the sweetest thing. She is going to be a wonderful addition to our family. BUT....I can also tell that I will be this sweet baby's primary caregiver. Macy is not one to get up in the middle of the night, or first thing in the morning, blah blah blah.

Oh well, I love her. She is perfect.

Anywhooooo....Today is Friday. I have a ton of stuff on my TO DO list for today and this weekend. I want to go to Canton Trade Days in Canton, Texas, but I'm not going to be able to do that if I don't get some work done at the office. So I'm off to work. Have a fabulous Friday!

I am addicted to Dance Moms. Seriously. I walk around this world wondering just how messed up my life is, or how disfunctional I look to people. But then I turn the tv on (on any given night, mind you, because this show is ALWAYS ON) and these psycho moms confirm for me that I am just fine. That lady that runs Candy Apple dance is wacko. I think the producers must pay her extra to bring her a-game in bitchology. And the moms...they are all clearly living vicariously through their kid. And OMG some of those dances push the envelope like nobody's business.

This is some good tv right here. And sadly, Abby seems to be the only one that has half a brain.

Clearly, I am brain dead tonight because this discussion is all I can come up with.

Stop this train and let me jump off! Macy got up at 5:30 to let that sweet baby girl outside. I am in shock! In 15 years of life, that has never happened. Now let's see if she does it again tomorrow.

Today marks 105 days remaining in this writing project.

5:45. She's back in the bed.

6:15. I'm ready to go. Guess I'll stand around and tap my foot until she's ready.

6:17. Coffee.

7:10. I'm going to the gas station while I'm waiting on the princess to get ready.

7:15. I'm back. Lol. Small town USA. The gas station is down the street and around the corner. ;)

7:18. She's ready and we have to put Sophie in her crate. Sara is in the bed, catching up on all if the sleep she lost this past weekend from a debate tournament. She will babysit today, but for now, she sleeps and so does Sophie.

7:21. Sitting in the school parking lot..waiting on 7:30 to get here. The princess will not get out until then.

8:02. Carwash. Just did this on Friday, but I mowed the yard yesterday and covered the car with dust. Ugh.

Counting down. 107 days of writing left on this project.

A strange thing happened to me this past Friday and I can't get it out of my head. So I'm gonna put it in writing. Maybe that will do the trick.

I went to McAllister's to get lunch for the office.

So we all know the setup of McAllister's, right? So I'm in the Togo order line. 3 people are in front of me and we are patiently waiting our turn. Another lady comes in, looking like she just came from a high-powered yoga experience, or she just rolled out of bed, one of those 2, anyway. I'm 3rd in line. She comes in and stands next to me. Not behind me, next to me.

I move up..she moves up with me. Side by side like 2 long lost friends arm in arm. Not.

So I'm now standing at the cash register. And she straight up blurts out the name of her order, as if I'm not standing there. So I pull my patience out of my pocket at this point. The attendant calls off her order which was some sort of salad. The lady says "Yes that's it. Is that with chicken?" the attendant says "no mam, it says just a regular salad.". Crazy says "oh we'll just ring it up like that. I'm in a hurry so I don't have time to redo the order." The attendant rings it up and Crazy pays for it. Then she says to the attendant "do you think you could get me a chicken breast to go with it?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! I can't decide if that was rude or if it was magnificently brilliant!!! I'm still standing here looking all invisible, by the way.

So crazy just stands there waiting on her now free chicken breast, huffing and puffing the whole time because they aren't moving fast enough for her.

Anywho...I was just baffled by the entire experience. I felt like I was standing there watching a skit from SNL or MAD TV. it was that over the top! And this crazy lady was not the up and coming younger generation that we all know will act like this in the future. This lady was at least 60 and completely aware of her actions, albeit not concerned of what anyone (me) thought about it. I just don't get it.

Pocket FULL of patience. That's all I must have had yesterday. That's all I'm saying.

Make a wish! It's 111 {days till my vacation and this write-a-post-every-day-until-then project}

If you were guaranteed one wish to make...what would you wish for? Seriously.

I mean, we have all pondered what we might do with Aladdin's 3 wishes. But what if you only had one. What would it be? It seems a little more difficult to narrow it down to just one wish.

Whomever was granting the wish..{Genie or otherwise} I think I would at least have to try and trick them into adding an extra wish, like Aladdin did to get out of the cave.

I really don't know what my wish would be. I would like to say that I would not wish for money. But I might. Financial freedom and financial security are important. Perhaps not the most important, but they do rank fairly high on the list. Especially to a single parent like myself. Ooh. There's a thought. Perhaps I could wish for Prince Charming. I would have to figure out exactly how to word that wish. The wish itself would need to include, but not be limited to, good looks..wealthy.. heartwarming..caring..loves kids..just to name a few. Maybe I should go back to the wish for financial freedom. ;)

I posted yesterday that I had 113 days until my awesome vacation given to me by Scentsy.

And then, this morning, as I'm sipping my coffee, I've decided I need to post every day until then. So, starting today...I have 112 days of writing to do.

I also started a project yesterday to schedule some much-needed time with my Scentsy family in other areas. I am working on a training day. This makes me a little nervous. I'm not a speaker. Hopefully I will have many other leaders that will speak at this event and ease my stress of speaking in public we shall see. Fingers crossed.

I also have another, smaller group idea to help with networking and recruiting. While I will still have to speak, I think this might be a little easier for me because the group staring at me (lol) will be smaller. Well, in theory, it makes sense right?

So today, I will continue moving forward with my planning of these projects. If you think Scentsy might be a good fit for you, NOW is as good a time as any to contact me with questions. I would love to share the story with you.

The first step to one of my goals for 2012 arrived today on my doorstep. My goal is to "reorganize." I'm very organized in my day job at the law office, but when I get home it is nothing short of organized chaos, at best. Part of my goal-oriented journey for 2012 is to WRITE IT DOWN! And this little gem is here to help me do that.

I'm watching the Texas Ranger Game 6. Rangers are leading the series 3-2. I know I sound like a true fan, but the reality is....I'm what you call a "fair weather fan."

I'm the kind of fan everyone says, "where were you all season long?"

Well, nonetheless, I do love me some Ranger baseball. I just don't have time to glue myself to the screen and go to every other home game in Arlington. But I do hope they win tonight and close the series as Champions of this season! I would love to see that happen. Cheers to you TEXAS RANGERS! We love y'all!
