Anthony Bracco of Bracco Farms returns to the Bogota Community Garden to give a lecture on victory gardens as well as a live demonstration. All are welcome to attend this outdoor event. Registration recommended. The event will be followed by a garden cleanup and flower seed planting by the local Girl Scouts.

On Thursday-16-April from approximately 7:00a-4:00p, River Road and West Shore Avenue under the railroad bridge will be closed in both directions for paving from previous roadway and concrete barrier repairs.
Plan an alternate route and expect delays for the morning commute.

Fundraiser to support the Bogota High School Students in 8th to 11th grades.
This will be held at the Teterboro Chipotle on Saturday, April 18 from 5pm - 9pm. (9 Teterboro Landing Dr, Teterboro, NJ 07608)
To participate, all you have to do is show up during the window of time and show the cashier the flyer when paying. The picture of the flyer can be on your phone. You must SHOW THE PICTURE OF THE FLYER in order for us to get money back.

W. Main St from River Rd and the Hackensack border will be milled and paved from approximately 8:00a to 4:00p both days.
This is due to utility work done performed over the past several months and is funded by the utility companies.
There will be temporary road closures in the area shown on the map, along with detours.
Closed Roads (Red):
Sections of Main St, River Rd, and nearby connecting streets will be closed to through traffic.
Open/Detour Routes (Green):
Surrounding streets will remain open and can be used as alternate routes.
-No Parking will be allowed on South Street between River Rd and Larch Ave

Location: Around Olsen Park and the Bogota Recreation Center area
Please plan ahead, follow posted detour signs, and allow extra travel time. We appreciate your patience as work is completed safely.

Bogota Track and Field Bucs

On Monday-6-April, the Bogota Track and Field Bucs hosted the Palisades Park Tigers in the Bogota Athletic Complex.
This is the first home track and field meet for Bogota since 1991. Most of the events took place on Fiegel Field, with the Javelin and Shop Put held on the Ball fields in Olsen Park.

The participants travel counterclockwise with the finish line just at the start of the Bucs Pride Corner.
The Lady Bucs won their meet by a score of 104 to 15.
Individual winners were: Luna Sanabria in the 100m and 200m, Amber Nunez in the 400m, Ana Michel in the 800m and 1600m, and Paulina Montesinos in the 3200m. Sofia Kimbell won in the 100m hurdles, Maya Schiaratura in the 400 m. hurdles. The Lady Bucs won the 4 x 100m relay.
In the field events Emma Fowler won the Javelin, Camila Rosario the shot put. With Cristina Ter-Meliksetian winning the Triple Jump, Long Jump and High Jump.
The Men's team won by the score of 107 to 17
Individual winners were: Jayden Gonzalez in the 100m, Emmanuel Marin 200m, Palisades Park's Christian won the 400m, Raymond Ehrmann in the 800m, Zohaib Syed 1600m, and Ethan Schwarzenbach in the 3200m. Emmanuel Marin won in the 100m and 400m hurdles, The Bucs won the 4 x 100m relay.
In the field events Jayden Gonzalez won the Javelin, Lucas Leong the shot put. With Jadeil Montero winning the Triple Jump, and Long Jump.
Bogota’s next meets are on Friday-10 April at Hasbrouck Heights starting at 4:00p. And on Saturday-11-April in Hackensack at 8:30a

Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday-21-March, the Bogota Recreation Department held its annual Egg Hunt on the Little League Field in Olsen Park. As the Children gathered they were entertained by magician Mr. Vince Valenzi who performed a number of tricks. During the show he asked for some young volunteers to assist him with some of the tricks.
There was also a couple of tables set up from Beetch Barn Craft and Bogota BACSA with craft items to colour and take home.
When the time came to start the Egg Hunt, the Children were placed in separate groups based on age from preschool up to third grade. The ground was covered with eggs spread all around, so each group had room for their ages.
Then the children were given the signal to race for the eggs. Some were accompanied by their Parent as they ran across the field gathering eggs.
After the search, the Easter Bunny was on hand to thank everyone for coming by and to pose for photos. Mr. Valenzi also stayed to make balloon sculptures for all the Children who wanted one.

The Borough has started a Hometown Heroes Banner program. This will allow residents of Bogota to honor a family member who serviced in the Armed Servies. The cost of a banners will be $150.00 payable to the Borough of Bogota. Elks Lodge # 1506 will host an All you can eat Breakfast at 8:30a. Sponsored by the Ridgefield Park Pre-School Program. Prices are $15.00 for Adults and $8.00 for student 8 and under.
It is requested that non-perishable food item to assist the St. Frances food pantry be donated.

The Bogota Public Library, The Bogota Recycling Center, the offices of Borough Hall will be closed for Good Friday. There will be no metal pick-up. The library will reopen at their regular hours on Saturday-4-April. Borough Hall and the Recycling Center will open on Monday-6-April at their regular hours.
The Bogota School District will close for their Spring recess and reopen on Monday-13-April on their regular hours.

Friday-3-April
Ridgefield Park, NJ
The Ridgefield Park Public Library, The Ridgefield Park Recycling Center, the offices of Municipal Building will be closed for Good Friday. The library will reopen at their regular hours on Saturday-4-April. Municipal Building and the Recycling Center will open on Monday-6-April at their regular hours.
The Ridgefield Park School District will close for Good Friday and Easter they will reopen on Thursday-9-April on their regular hours.
