That is a very good show. Wylie, Eric, and Kai all lost a lot of weight. My sister said that Eric was going to win before we knew the results. They all worked very hard to lose their weight. It's very nice to watch people achieve their goals. They are proof that you can lose weight by improving your diet and exercising consistently. My brother's mother-in-law lost all her weight like that too and she looks good. I think it is so much better to lose weight by diet and exercising instead of getting surgery. You look healthier and you don't have to worry about sagging skin because you don't lose the weight rapidly.

Wylie, Eric, and Kai all looked great. I know all of the contestants on the show have learned a lot about diet, nutrition and exercise. Even though Eric came out as the winner all of them are winners. They lost all that weight! I do think that it is a lot easier and encouraging when you are doing things with a group of people.

I can't wait to see who is going to be on "The Biggest Loser" for the next season.

It turns out that my real age is 24.9.(LOL) I think that is a good real age don't you think? However, I didn't totally agree with it saying that I had a low vegetable and grain intake. I eat my vegetables and grains now. (LOL) They or I must of miscalculated that. However, I know that everyone can use some improvement and that includes me too. I thought taking the real age test was fun. It does have some good tips. If you would like to see my real age results see below:

By December 21, 2007, you could look and feel 3 years YOUNGER than today!

Calendar
Age

Difference
My RealAge

Today 31.0
-6.1 24.9

December 21, 2007 31.3
-9.2 22.1

In 3 years 34.0
-7.7 26.3

What's Making Your Real Age Younger?

Good sleep levels
Positive attitude
Limited or no secondhand smoke exposure
Parents relationship
Medication use
Flexibility routine
Correct fruit servings
Daily vitamin
Ideal BMI
Good omega-3 intake
Folic acid intake
Breast cancer history
No drinking and driving
Distances traveled
Safe driving speeds
Good oral hygiene
Nonsmoker
Low red meat intake
Diverse diet
No ovarian cancer in family
Vitamin C intake

What's making your real age older?

Lack of daily breakfast
Blood pressure control
Low unsaturated fat
Calcium intake
Workout schedule
Have cholesterol level measured
Potassium levels
Low grain intake
Low vegetable intake
Social network and stress
Strength training level
Vitamin E intake
Flossing habits

You too can find out your real age by going to real age.com. All in all I think that this is a good website. I give it a thumbs up. You can also send it to your family and friends and have them take the real age test.

The key is to age gracefully because that is what we should all aim to do. We have to age so let's do it gracefully.

It has become a habit to eat foods that are not good for us. Foods that taste good but have absolutely no nutrition. Sometimes we have to get over the taste good factor. When we presume something tastes good that's what we choose to eat and we intern eat more of it. Therefore, overeating becomes a problem for many people. How many times have you kept eating something even though you were full just because it tastes good? We all can relate to that.

You must reprogram your food thought process. Instead of choosing foods because they taste good, choose foods because they are good for you instead. Ask yourself,"Is this good for me? How will this benefit my health and body?"

Even though many people know what foods are good to eat and what foods are not. They still make the wrong choices. Why, because they haven't fully reprogrammed the food thought process.

While, it is not true that everything that tastes good is bad for you. Just like it's not true that everything that is good for your health tastes bad. However, many people think this way. They won't even give healthy eating a chance. How many times have you heard someone say,"Oh, I can't eat that!" Just by looking at it when they haven't even tried it. Sounds familiar doesn't it?

When you go to the grocery store by nutritional foods you wouldn't normally eat. For instance, you would buy soft bread because it tastes better used for a sandwich. Instead, by the bread that's not soft. Reprogram that food thought process. Make a list. On the right side put the things that you think taste good. Draw a line down the middle and on the left side write the things that don't taste good.

This is very helpful in reprogramming the way you think about food. In the beginning you might have to fight the desire to choose the wrong foods, but once your mind gets in the habit it won't be hard at all.

Many people are coming down with the flu, colds, and coughs. I wanted to share with you some tips to stay cold and flu free.

When you come home from shopping and in public places go straight to the bathroom or sink and wash your hands all they way up to your wrists. This will help you from bringing in germs that you have come in contact with while being out. You will be amazed at how dirty your hands are. You are stopping the germs right at the door. Make this a habit when you go out and come home. There are still many people who aren't washing their hands after they go to the bathroom. I think that is a shame since we are in the 21st century and have excess to plenty of water. That's just being nasty in my opinion. You can read about it here.

You might also want to wash your door knobs down at least a couple of times a year because they hold lots of germs.

Another tip is take a hot shower everyday. The water should be as hot as you can take it. You will know if the water is hot enough when the mirror is fogged up when you get out. This will be like you are in a sauna and you are steaming your whole body opening up your pores and helping you break down the mucus in your chest and head. This can be done before you get sick or while you are sick. It is a very good way to help you stay healthy and help you feel better if you are already sick.

If you give your body the tools it needs by eating the proper nutrition and exercising. Avoiding things that are not good for you or your health. You will see major improvements in your health.

The body is extremely remarkable. As soon as you get sick your body goes to work to fight off any sickness that you have gotten. It has the ability to heal itself. That's why you should make the decision right now to take care of your health. After all, your body is always taking care of you. It deserves the same rights.

So many people have made that decision and are now seeing great results. It's a new year. Why not make it a healthier and happier one. Get disciplined! If you are wearing your shoes in the house those are just some of the things that are on your carpets and floors. You might say to yourself," I have my carpet cleaned", or "I wash my floors". You cannot do that enough, because you are continually walking through your home with your shoes on spreading that filth around daily. You would have to clean your carpet and wash your floors every single day. Who has time to do that?

We are fighting germs every single day. No one wants these things in their homes. Removing your shoes is a great way to keep those things right where they belong. Outside!

Wearing shoes in the house has become convenient, because people don't want to take the time even to remove their shoes. Doing things, because they are convenient aren't always good reasons to do them. As we have learned with our eating habits.

If you just have to wear shoes in the house get some house shoes or slippers that you only wear in the house and not outside. Ask people who visit your home also, to remove their shoes. If they ask you why. Give them the above reasons. You may also want to have a sign made and post it on a wall right beside the door. That way a person cannot miss it.

If there is one, I'd really like to know about it. This is a question everyone has on their minds. There is no overnight cure for sickness. Our bodies are not like vehicles. When something is not working properly, we take it to the shop get it fixed, and than we are good to go. It takes time for the body to heal, and there is no quick way. It's the same for losing weight too.

That's the reason why many people opt to have surgery. They figure they go in get operated on have this replaced, this liposuctioned, or this removed. Sure, they know they will be down for a little while, but in the back of their minds they believe it is much faster, than putting the effort into changing their lifestyle. What the doctors don't tell them is they have not solved the problem, and in a couple of years or maybe months they will be right back where they started from or even in worse shape. Another fact to consider is all surgeries are not successful, and some are irreversible.

Let me explain myself because, I don't want people to get the wrong impression. I don't think surgery is bad, because it has saved many people's lives when done for the right reasons. However, I don't think surgery should be the first option on the list, and more so because one does not want to make lifestyle changes. Also, I believe surgery has become an epidemic especially here in the United States. It seems that no one is even looking at alternative solutions anymore.

I've seen first hand that it takes time to heal and there is no quick method. My mom's friend husband found out he had rectal cancer this past May. His wife had been telling him for years that he should start eating healthier. He would never listen to her. He continued to eat at fast food restaurants, and loads of junk food. He would cook for the family, and of course the food that he cooked did not qualify as being healthy. Even after he found out that he was sick it was a struggle for him to change his eating habits. Friends were concerned too, and they let him know about it.

My mom's friend and her husband continued going to the doctor. The doctors told him that he would need surgery to remove the cancer. They told him the worse case scenario would be that he would have to get a colostomy bag. My Mom's friend told my mom that they would were going to look at some alternative solutions in the mean time. Her husband was still having a hard time making the necessary lifestyle changes he needed to help him fight this cancer. A friend wanted to put him on a natural health program. He refused.

He decided to go ahead and have the surgery which was scheduled in July. He had the surgery. The doctor told my mom's friend (his wife) that it was the worse case scenario. They had to remove his anal sphincter. Therefore he would now have to have a colostomy bag for the rest of his life. It was not the news he or the family wanted to hear.

Now, he has to make lifestyle changes, and it is not easy. I don't think he thought it was going to be the worse case scenario. I think he thought he was going to go in and have the surgery, and in a few months he was going to be back to living the unhealthy lifestyle that probably got him in that way in the first place. It would have been easier if he had went ahead and made those changes in the beginning.

It's not a quick fix to anything, and you shouldn't want one regarding your health. Don't wait until you get sick to start making the health changes you need to. Regardless, of what the doctor or anyone else tells you. The fact of the matter is there is no quick way to healing.

Bad hair days. If you are looking for hair products that can get your hair back to the beauty you know it has than I have some products for you. They are called Sizta2Sizta. These products are absolutely fabulous.

If you have a problem with split ends (like I used to) you will find that the halt breakage control control will absolutely get rid of them. Before, I started using this conditioner I was trimming my hair everytime I washed it. Since, I have been using this conditioner I haven't trimmed my hair the last couple of times I washed it.

The shampoo is nice too. It doesn't have all those chemicals in it that the store bought one's have. It cleanses your hair extremely well and it is so gentle that anyone can use it. Both the shampoo and the conditioner come in super size bottles so, you don't have to worry about running out so fast.

The healthy hair oil is great. It really moisturizes your hair and it leaves your scalp tingling and feeling refreshed and smelling good. With peppermint oil, tea tree oil, lavendar oil your hair and scalp is moisturized very well. My sister's husband likes it too. After he trims his beard down he applies the healthy hair oil and it prevents him from breaking out because he has sensitive skin. My sister says she can't keep enough of it around.

I can't say enough good things about these products. All I can say is I'm glad I found them. That's why I wanted to share them with you. So, go ahead and give Sizta2Sizta hair products a try.

We eat breakfast, than lunch, and finally we prepare for dinner. Not counting the snacks in between. We are constantly bombarded with food through commercial advertisements on t.v., billboads, newspapers and magazines.

When we are happy. We eat. When we are sad. We eat. When we are stressed out. We eat.

Fasting gives our bodies the much needed break from food. Even our digestive systems need to rest sometimes.

Muslims fast for for 29 to 30 days during Ramadhan. They eat an early breakfast called suhoor before sunrise and don't eat again until sunset.

For them fasting brings spiritual and health benefits.

When you fast you find out that you really aren't that hungry all the time. It teaches you self-discipline and you really appreciate the food you do have to eat. For 24 hours you feel a little bit of how someone who doesn't have sufficient food to eat feels. It teaches you to be thankful and grateful for the food you are fortunate to have. It brings more meaning to the words waste not want not.

Many people fast to help them with medical conditions. There are different types of fasting. One such fast is called the juice fast. Where one drinks only juice throughout the day and does not eat any solid foods.

Here are a couple of links that will help you get a better understanding of fasting and how it can benefit you spiritually and health wise.

Science of Fasting-Medical benefits of fasting and beyond

Juice Fasting

Even if a person can't fast. One can always eat less. If you are eating nutritious foods your body will be more nourished and you won't have to eat as much.

We leave out as soon as the sun comes up. I like that time of the day because there isn't many people out and it is very quiet. We walk to the park, around the park and than we walk home. It is a 3 mile walk but it doesn't seem that long. Once you walk it many times it seems as though the distance gets shorter. There are many other people who walk around the park too. We've come to know them because we see them everyday. They, too are serious about their walking. Many of our fellow walkers are elderly. They be moving though. It just goes to show you that you are never to old to start exercising. What counts the most is just getting started.

I have been walking at my mom's pace. I could really walk faster but I don't want to leave her behind. I think it's important for us to stay together. Her pace is picking up. We have gone from 1 hour to 40 minutes to 1 hour and 20 minutes.

We were still walking even in the 90 degree weather but we were blessed to get a couple of cool breezes along the way. The weather that we are experiencing now is just perfect walking weather. Luckily we haven't ran into any violent ones. Not long after we had gotten to the park this dog was following us and it wouldn't stop. There were some people cleaning up the park by cleaning out the garbage cans and the dog went over to them and my mom and I were able to lose him. Even though I had the stick I didn't want to hit him because he wasn't violent, but I was happy that he wasn't following us anymore. It can really ruin your walk when a strange dog is trailing you.

When we walk sometimes we walk different routes. These days it's not good for someone to know your walking pattern. So, we switch walking patterns. We don't walk the same way back as we do coming. That way it will be hard for someone to know when you will be coming or going a certain way. Also, there is a path way but it is hidden by trees we never walk through there because know one can see you from the road. These are just some precautions that we take when we are walking. It is better to be safe than sorry.

It helps too that we have gotten to know a few fellow walkers. Like us, they are regular walkers and we see them everyday. We have been very consistent walking around the park but sometimes things come up and if we don't get a chance to walk around the park we still manage to get our walk in. Instead of driving to the store (we have stores within walking distance from where we live) we walk to them. It is a fabulous way to get your walking in and you have just gotten your exercise for the day. My mom and I both have friends who live close-by. Sometimes we walk to their houses when we go to visit them. If we have did our routine walk for that day than we have just gotten some extra miles in. Besides, it also saves on gas too.

The number one reason I like walking so much is because it is so easy to do. Actually, there is really no set time when to do it. I can walk anytime and anywhere. I can't make any excuses not to do it. All you need is a good pair of gym shoes and that's about it. You don't need any equipment unless; you want to get a treadmill for the wintertime.

It's nice to get support if you are just starting out and to see that other people too are just as serious about walking as you are. I'm still learning and it's nice to continue to read all the benefits my body is getting when I walk. That's even more a motivator for me.
I joined a walking forum earlier this year and I subscribed to the newsletter, which sends out tips about walking to my email. I enjoy reading it and I have learned quite a bit. If you think that you would be interested in joining the forum and signing up for the newsletter visit this website at http://walking.about.com/.

If you're like me you get catalogs, bills, and junk mail coming to your mailbox everyday. I just hate to throw it away because it is such a waste. I get the same feeling when I buy a newspaper too. Instead of throwing it away I just recycle it. I do the same with my old bills except I shred them up before I recycle them.

The majority of our garbage is paper, plastic, and aluminum. When I recycle it really cuts down on the amount of garbage that I have to throw away. Batteries and computers don't breakdown plus, they give out chemicals that can get in our soil and make us sick. Before you throw them away find out if there is somewhere in your area where you can drop them off so that they can be recycled. Check out Earth911.org. They can assist you in finding places in your area to recycle.

Do you have old books that are still in good shape and you don't know what to do with them but you don't want to throw them away? Get an account with Bookmooch. It's free! Bookmooch is a community for exchanging old books. You can give and receive them.

Keep our environment healthy! Remember we all have to live on this earth together! So, let's help each other keep it clean!

It moisturizes and keeps your skin feeling refreshed and soft. It is good for sensitive skin and if you have a eczema. My youngest sister has eczema and it worked very well for her. Almond soap is the kind of soap you can use all over your body because it doesn't dry your skin out. The scent is heavenly. If you haven't heard of it before and you have dry or sensitive skin I would highly recommend that you try it.

The bar of the soap is roundly shaped and the color is light brown. It really makes bathing enjoyable. If you don't believe me. Try it yourself and see. I guarantee you will absolutley love it.

I discovered Method back in January. It was a great discovery indeed. Method is formulated with naturally-derived ingredients and contains an advanced surfactant mixture.

You won't have any problems getting your dish water nice and sudsy. I do testify that it gets your dishes nice and clean and it takes care of the grease.

Method comes in different scents such as, french lavender, cucumber and grapefruit. While, I like them all. I have to say that cumcumber is my favorite. I've never did dishes with my dish water smelling like cucumbers before, and Method has given me that luxury. It really makes doing dishes pleasant. (I don't usually like doing dishes).

Method also sells liquid hand soap and cleaning products. Go ahead and give the Method way of doing dishes a try! Often they have come from the parents. Children can be taught to eat a healthy diet at a young age. Fruits and vegetables should be a part of children’s diet along with drinking water. In the beginning the child might resist but if you are persistent you will eventually win the battle. You have to be the one to teach them because if you don’t the food companies with their fancy advertisements will and who wants that?

Sugary cereals should not be included in a child’s breakfast. Eating junkie cereals are a beginning of a child’s addiction for junk food. Let’s face it, if you are eating sugary foods for breakfast is not getting them off to a good start health wise.

If you don’t buy it they cannot get it at your house. The reason I say this is because just because you are not buying it doesn’t mean that they are not getting it. Many times grandparents will buy what you won’t. Don’t worry. It won’t ruin your child’s decisions on making the right food choices. I know because I was one of those kids who asked their grandparents to buy the junkie cereals because my parents wouldn’t and I make good food choices.

You still may want to tell your parents about the importance of eating a healthy diet and why you aren’t buying that junk for your children. I believe it is important so the grandparents won’t feel like you are depriving them.

Oatmeal and cream of wheat are excellent for breakfast because it is warm and it stays with them. Pancakes and waffles are good too. It is better to make it from scratch but you can purchase a mix called Arrowhead Mills at your local health food store.

When you reward your children for good behavior or good grades or whatever the occasion may be it doesn’t have to be with sweet candy. Popcorn is a nice healthy snack that can be used as an alternative. Peanuts, sunflower seeds, and sesame seed sticks are also good choices.

When kids see other kids eating healthy they too follow suit. When I was little my cousin had come over to play with my siblings and I, and he stayed and ate dinner with us. When his father came to pick him up he noticed that he was eating salad. When he saw him eating the salad he said, “You don’t eat salad”. My cousin replied, “ I like the salad dressing”. I do believe since he saw all of us kids eating it he thought he might try it himself realizing he did like it with that particular salad dressing which was Viva Italian.

Reading the labels can also be very helpful to make sure your child isn’t getting too much intake of sugar. It’s not like it used to be a long time ago where sugar was mostly in desserts. Now, it is in food that we eat every single day.

I’m not saying that a child shouldn’t eat any junk food. I just don’t think that it should be eaten every single day. Everything a child eats doesn’t have to be sweet. Remember, children imitate their parents. So, let’s teach them to make good food choices that can last them a lifetime and they too can pass it down to their children as well.

They are soft and easy to eat. They make a very nutritional snack. Before you eat dates you must remove the seed that is inside. Break with your fingers or use a knife to make a small slit in the date and remove the seed. After you remove the seed you can put your favorite spread inside.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to put butter inside his dates when he ate them. You can try that if you like.

You can put cream cheese inside the date. That is hmmm good. Putting peanut butter inside the date is good too. If you like you can first put a little bit of cream cheese first and than top it off with some peanut butter. Or you can eat each separately. You might want to eat it separately first if this is your first time eating dates.

You can also eat dates with your favorite nuts. An almond is a good nut to put inside because it fits perfectly. You can eat it with peanuts or pistachios too. Whichever, way you prefer. Try it with different things and see what you like best.

You may want to take a look at Frontier Herb. The majority of their flavorings are non-alcoholic with the exception of their almond flavorings. Extracts usually have alcohol in them and flavorings don't. So if it is an extract it probably has alcohol in it. They also sell loose leaf teas, holistic and craft herbs, and aromatherapy and natural personal care products.

Barry Farms sells non alcoholic flavorings. None of their flavorings have alcohol in them. You can enjoy your cakes and cookies and also have the great taste too. I know for some people that they can't have alcohol for religious reasons or health reasons. There is always an alternative. That's all my family uses is non alcoholic flavorings in their baking goods and they taste great. Especially the pound cakes.

If you know someone who is having problems finding a specific flavoring be sure to pass these two websites on.

If you are using only toilet tissue to clean yourself than you are not completely clean. Toilet tissue alone does not clean you. If you are not cleaning yourself properly feces will get caked around your rectum. There are a couple of indications that you get when you are not clean. Indications of Uncleanliness are: 1. Stains in your underwear. 2. An unpleasant smell. 3. A feeling of uncleanliness.

It is just as important to clean the outside of the colon as it is the inside. You must use water to clean yourself properly.

After you finish urinating wash yourself with water. After you finish moving your bowels take some toilet tissue, wet it with water, and using your left hand wipe yourself three or five times, than wash with water.

Fill an old dishwashing liquid bottle or a small plant water container with water and keep it in your bathroom. This water will be used to clean yourself after you go to the bathroom.
