War Child’s mission is to support and strengthen the protective environment for children who, as a result of

War Child is looking for an exceptional volunteer to support our diverse fundraising work. The Fundraising & Database Assistant will support the Corporate and Donor Fundraising team in all areas of fundraising including community and challenge events and will play a key role in supporting our regular donors.

Key Responsibilities
• Database management - working with the War Child individual giving team to update the fundraising database with supporter information and utilise this as a tool to maintain communication with supporters
• Database management – working closely with the team to implement War Child’s new cloud-based CRM system
• Develop and maintain relationships with individual supporters ensuring fundraisers have an appropriate level of support for their fundraising initiatives.
• Ensure War Child’s donor journey is implemented and all fundraisers have a positive experience of supporting the charity
• Engage with individuals to enrol them in supporting War Child, especially in relation to challenge events.

Islamic Relief Worldwide is currently recruiting for the position of an Impact Analyst to support the development, management and implementation of Islamic Relief Worldwide’s impact monitoring and evaluation portfolio through statistical and econometric expertise and data analysis. The successful candidate should have a Masters’ degree in Statistics Economics, Social Sciences, International Development or related disciplines with proven experience in this field. S(H)e should also have advanced knowledge of Excel, SPSS, STATA and other statistical software packages. Excellent IT skills and command of the English language are essential. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, including writing skills and a track record of authoring or co-authoring research reports or similar publications.

INTRODUCTION:

The Youth Program Strengthening Intern will be assigned to the Service Delivery Improvement (SDI) Division of the Bureau for Global Health’s, Office of Population and Reproductive Health (PRH). The PRH Office provides technical leadership, strategic direction, implementation oversight, support to field missions, partner coordination, and performance tracking for the family planning component of the United States Government’s (USG) Global Health Initiative. The Program Development function supports four priority areas: 1. New program initiatives and proposal

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Program development aims to identify need, work with donors and start effective interventions. As such, this position requires a range of skills and abilities and the successful applicant will have a demonstrated track record of working alongside both beneficiary populations and institutional donors. The Senior Program Development Advisor will supervise the Program Development Advisor and work with internal staff, partners, and donors to ensure complete, thorough and timely proposal preparation. The Senior Program Development Advisor will join a dynamic team of achievers who are proactive and results-oriented in making ARC a successful organization. S/he will report to the Senior Program Development & Quality Manager and will be based in either ARC’s Headquarters in Minneapolis.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY / PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Proposal Development (50%)

Provide leadership and management in the proposal development process including but not limited to gathering, analyzing and acting upon relevant information, conducting due diligence and priority-setting; identifying potential partners; recruiting project staff and partners; and manage in-country proposal assessments.
Write, edit and/or provide technical input on concepts and proposals on an as needed basis, including advising and counseling team leaders and team members on proposal content, strategy, staffing, partners and budgeting.
Assist in reviewing and refining program development tools while establishing and integrating them into the ARC system.
Negotiate with donors and represent ARC in meetings with the aim to secure program funding.
Management and Supervision (20%)
Act as key focal point for all proposal development initiatives.
Provide supervision and support for mentoring the Program Development Advisor.
Help determine whether proposals are in compliance with donor guidelines.
Assist with budgeting and reporting as needed.
In conjunction with other members of the Program Development team, conduct training/overview sessions on related topics.
Surveillance/Assessment (25%)
In conjunction with other members of the Program Development team, research, identify, and track funding opportunities, including donor solicitations, strategic plans, presentations, and current projects in and countries of interest.
Develop and carry out in-country assessments as needed using methods that are appropriate to the local context.
Based on specific locations, develop and execute a data collection, analysis and dissemination plan for new country entry and emergency response.
Draft Grants Development Plans (GDPs) for country programs.
Program Start-Up (5%)
Provide leadership and management in program start-up including serving as a member of ARC emergency response team. This may require little notice and subsequent long hours in unstable areas.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

At least 3-5 years professional experience writing proposals for USAID/OFDA, DOS/BPRM, or UNHCR/UNOCHA.
Proven skills in identifying needs, program design, proposal writing, budgeting and donor relations.
Demonstrated familiarity with donors (either working inside or along) such as USAID/OFDA, DOS/BPRM, UNHCR/UNOCHA and other UN agencies.
Previous proposal experience for long term development programs a plus.
Experience in international humanitarian/disaster/post-conflict situations preferred.
Masters degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Humanitarian Affairs or related sectoral discipline strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of French a plus.
