Our humble, but growing BMOCA for contemporary arts tries to educate the public by being open for free on Saturdays at the local organic farmers market. (The BMOCA has recently gotten some tax dollars for a grant to renovate and the interior now looks better than ever--especially the entrance.) This is where I discovered and was blown away by the avant guard stylings and genius of local photographer Julie Blackmon. Julie's photography to me is a narrative on the complexities and absurdities surrounding home life, rife with chaos, comfort, tradition and adaptation. I am dying to have a family portrait done by her now. I have not seen anything so creative and fresh for awhile! The photographs shown are from her series 'Domestic Vacations'.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 301px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BHQ553Wq3QQ/SkDjC2HAVnI/AAAAAAAAIWI/59KKFoXn95g/s400/j.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350525995340289650" /><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 301px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BHQ553Wq3QQ/SkDi_jS_szI/AAAAAAAAIWA/NJZOsqK64sU/s400/j1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350525938750698290" /><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 349px; height: 350px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BHQ553Wq3QQ/SkDi8hrc_lI/AAAAAAAAIV4/dhWDYYUT3gA/s400/j2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350525886776802898" /><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 344px; height: 350px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BHQ553Wq3QQ/SkDi5KdUpSI/AAAAAAAAIVw/qKcIjF3kWTQ/s400/j3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350525829003912482" /><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 350px; height: 350px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BHQ553Wq3QQ/SkDiw2HK2II/AAAAAAAAIVo/N2mzMKxVlg0/s400/j4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350525686103332994" />

vintage 1930's sequin jewelry

Giovanna Torrico Bijou creates the most fabulous recycled accessories from 1930's sequins. Their Maison Idekit Home is both economical and ecological. Once the containers arrived, they were installed on foundations in only half a day. The rest of the work was spread over ten months. Morin is currently seeking to commercialize its concept, depending on his clients' needs.
<img style="float:right;
