Caso seja difícil achar os anéis e pistões acima, pode se utilizar os de Opala 4 cilindros à álcool fundidos(4 polegadas) o único problema é que precisam ser usinados por um torneiro experiente p/ que se encaixem nas bielas do Ford302 muita atenção c/ os detalhes da adaptação - se for bem feito fica bom !Em relação ao virabrequim, quase sempre deve ser retificado p/ .010 e utilizar bronzinas de mesma medida. Caso queira balancea-lo é interessante. Não se esqueça que motor c/ eixo folgado mantém pouca pressão de óleo. Alinhar os mancais também é benéfico. É mandatório uma nova e potente bomba de óleo.Novos e especiais parafusos de biela são recomendados. (Milodon, ARP etc.) Verifique o cabeçote de seu motor, e meça o tamanho da câmara de combustão c/ a vela e as válvulas no lugar. Utilize uma seringa milimetrada c/ óleo de hidráulico, até encher a câmara. Se achar 58 cc, ótimo. Caso contrário consiga o cabeçote dos Maverick feitos até 1976 (velas grandes). (os cabeçotes a partir de 1977 tem câmara de 64cc e velas pequenas) Com o cabeçote antigo (58cc) mais pistões planos, e uma junta de 1mm, você consegue mais ou menos 9.5/1 de taxa de compressão.Leve seu cabeçote p/ uma oficina especializada em preparação que façam trabalhos de cabeçote, e peça p/ trabalha-lo - principalmente a parte dos dutos de descarga, que nos motores 302 Ford são super restritivos. Os dutos de descarga devem ficar livres das obstruções originais (caroços).Não ha necessidade de rebaixar o mesmo, pois 9.5/1 de compressão é ótimo p/ rua a não ser que queira algo mais interessante. Trabalho de 3 ângulos nas sedesé bom.Compre um comando de válvulas Iskenderiam 270/270 mecânico.É um comando antigo c/ quase 30 anos, mas é muito bom, p/ até 6000 rpm.Use tuchos novos da mesma marca também mecânicos, e as molas próprias do comando nº6005, junto c/ os pratinhos. Use prisioneiros de balancins rosqueados 3/8 de polegada, é necessário abrir rosca no cabeçote. (as molas de válvula mais duras "sacam" os prisioneiros originais).Uma nova engrenagem c/ corrente de comando (dupla) é interessante.É mandatório que se utilize novas válvulas de descarga p/ comando mecânico, pois as originais possuem uma chapinha na parte de cima, que gostam de ir p/ o cárter.Já essas a que me refiro são inteiriças.Se seu bolso permitir compre válvulas, undercut de aço inox (Manley Race-Flo) que além de mais leves não são emendadas como as originais. Não deixe de colocar novas travas de válvulas,(valve locks) pois se utilizar velhas, podem escapulir e deixar a válvula cair dentro do cilindro c/ o motor funcionando,e aí......Bummmmm!!!Um carburador Holley 600 ou 650 cfm, segundo estágio mecânico é o ideal p/ um preparo deste estágio, junto c/ um coletor de admissão em alumínio que deve ser um Edelbrock, Torker II, ou mesmo um Performer RPM, sendo o segundo mais apropriado p/ torque em baixa, e o primeiro p/ rotações mais altas.Escapamento dimensionado é altamente recomendado. Mas cuidado pois em geral são difíceis de caber no Maverick, e sempre esbarram em lombadas etc.Um distribuidor eletrônico dos últimos Landau é muito recomendável, pois platinado não funciona acima de 5.000 rpm. Bobina de alta potência é bom, juntamente c/ cabos de vela especiais de silicone.Bomba de combustível original funciona, mais não alimenta bem em altas rotações (acho que até 6.000 rpm vai). O ideal é uma elétrica ou mecânica de alta potência.Velas de graduação 6, são indicadas. Cuidado c/ ponto de ignição, se adiantar demais pode quebrar o motor.É mandatório o uso de um radiador de 3 ou 4 carreiras estanhado, pois c/ esta taxa de compressão o carro esquenta se não tiver o radiador acima.Outro detalhe é que o bloco deve ser muito bem lavado nas galerias d'água, pois se não vai entupir o radiador logo da primeira vez que o motor funcionar, e mesmo c/ radiador especial vai esquentar. Se tudo estiver correto, o carro funciona c/ temperatura excelente.Com esta receitinha já se tem um carro bom o suficiente p/ andar na frente de qualquer carro nacional original, e muitos importados modernos.De acordo c/ programas de computador um motor c/ esta configuração desenvolve cerca de 380 hp @ 6000 rpm.Não se esqueça da suspensão, freios, direção etc.OBS - Estas dicas são fruto de experiência própria e 15 anos de pesquisa em livros, revistas e muita conversa c/ preparadores e pilotos. Os dois venenos se complementam, pois o comando mais bravo deixa o fluxo de gases com pouca inércia -- devido ao grande levantamento das válvulas e aumento da área de passagem do ar, efeito semelhante ao que ocorre em um motor multiválvula --, o que reduz o enchimento da câmara de combustão e provoca o embaralhamento no regime de baixa rotação. Um carburador de maior vazão restringe menos o escoamento e permite um enchimento melhor da câmara em baixa rotação, o que minimiza o embaralhamento. Em regime de alta rotação os dois componentes combinados permitem maior vazão de ar e combustível, com ganho significativo de potência.&lt;br /&gt;Um comando compreendido entre 275° e 290° de duração deve surtir o efeito desejado, Eduardo, sem prejudicar os regimes de baixa rotação. De qualquer forma, o V8 do Maverick suporta sem problemas de torque comandos de até 305°!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Para o motor do Maverick há outra dica importante. Como este motor foi utilizado numa época em que nossa gasolina tinha menor octanagem, sua taxa de compressão (7,5:1) é bastante baixa para o combustível atual, que possui álcool em sua composição e maior octanagem. A elevação dessa taxa de compressão para 8,5:1, 9:1 ou mesmo 9,5:1 só trará vantagens em torque, potência, emissão de gases e consumo, com um risco muito baixo para o motor.&lt;br /&gt;Existem diversos carburadores quadrijet, com várias capacidades de vazão (dadas em CFM, cubic feet per minute ou pés cúbicos por minuto). Como o leitor não informou qual deseja usar, simulamos duas preparações: uma com comando de 275°, elevação da taxa de compressão para 9:1, quadrijet de 600 CFM e coletor de admissão apropriado; e outra com comando de 290°, elevação da taxa de compressão para 9,5:1, carburador quadrijet de 650 CFM, coletor de admissão apropriado e dois coletores de escapamento dimensionados (4 em 2).&lt;br /&gt;A velocidade máxima estimada só será atingida com o ajuste recomendado da relação final de transmissão. Os resultados de velocidade são para velocidade real, sem considerar eventual erro do velocímetro.
