Thanks to Quartz’s Zach Seward for jogging my memory about this oldie and goodie: Tumblr’s David Karp in a video interview taped in 2007, when he was 21, had 75,000 users and was talking about stuff like Digg, Flickr … and Twitter.

Karp’s interviewer is Howard Lindzon, who’s now known as the guy behind StockTwits. Assuming that the interview was taped close to the time it was published, it would have meant that the two men were talking as Karp was raising his first funding round of $750,000, led by Union Square Ventures and Spark Capital.

The Foreign Exchange (Forex) Market is a cash, or “spot”,

interbank market established in 1971 when floating exchange rates began to materialize. This market is the arena in which the currency of one country is exchanged for those of another, and where international business is settled.

The Forex is a group of approximately thousands of

currency trading institutions that include international banks, government central banks, and

commercial companies. Payments for exports and imports flow through the Foreign Exchange Market,

as well as payments for purchases and sales of assets. This is called the “Consumer Foreign Exchange Market.” There is also a “speculator” segment in the Forex Market. Speculators have great financial exposure to overseas economies participating in the Forex to offset the risks of international investing.

Historically, the Forex Interbank Market was not open to small speculators. With a previous, minimum transaction size, and often stringent financial requirements, the small trader was excluded from participation in this market. Today, Market Maker brokers are

allowed to break down the larger interbank units and offer small traders the opportunity to buy or sell any number of these smaller units (lots).

Commercial Banks play two roles in the Forex Market:

(1) They facilitate transactions between two parties. For example, two companies wishing to exchange different currencies would seek the help of a commercial bank.

(2) They speculate by buying and selling currencies. The banks take positions on certain currencies because they believe they will be worth more if, “long”, or less if, “short”,

in the future. It has been estimated that international banks generate up to 70% of their revenues from currency speculation. “Other” speculators include many of the worlds’ most

successful traders, like George Soros.

The Forex also includes central banks from

various countries, like the U.S. Federal Reserve. They participate in the Forex to serve the financial interests of their country. When a central bank buys and sells its own or a foreign currency, the purpose is to stabilize their own country’s currency value.

The Forex is so large and is composed of so many participants, that no one player, not even the government central banks, can control the market. In comparison to the daily

trading volume averages of the

$300 billion U.S. Treasury Bond market and the approximately $100 billion exchanged in the U.S. stock markets, the Forex is huge, and has grown in excess of $4 trillion daily.

The word “market” is a misnomer describing Forex trading. Unlike other markets,

there is not a centralized location for trading activity.

Currency trading takes place via the Internet or over the phone.

A large portion of Forex trading is done by large, international banks. These banks will process transactions for large companies, governments and their own accounts. These banks continually provide prices (“bid” to buy and “ask” to sell) for each other and the broader market. The market’s current price of a particular currency is the most recent quotation from one of these banks. The “live” price information is reported through a variety of private data reporting services and is able via the Internet.

There are numerous advantages to trading on the Forex.

Liquidity

In the Forex Market, there is a buyer and a seller! The Forex absorbs trading volumes and per trade sizes which dwarf the capacity of any other market. On the simplest level, liquidity is a powerful attraction to any investor. It suggests the freedom to open or close a position 24 -hours a day.

Once purchased, many other, high-return investments are difficult to sell at will. Forex traders don’t have to worry about being “stuck” in a position due to lack of market interest. In the nearly $3.5 trillion U.S. per day market, major international banks have “bid” (buying) and “ask” (selling) prices for currencies.

Access

The Forex is open 24 hours a day from about 5:00 PM ET Sunday to about 4:00 PM ET Friday. An individual trader can react to news when it breaks, rather than having to wait for the opening bell of other markets when everyone else has the same information. This timeliness allows traders to take positions before the news details are fully factored into the exchange rates. High liquidity and 24 hour trading permit market participants to take positions, or exit, regardless of the hour. There are Forex dealers in every time zone and in every major market center; Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sydney, Paris, London, United States, et al. willing to continually quote "buy" and "sell" prices.

Since no money is left on the market table-referred to as a “Zero Sum Game” or “Zero-Sum Gain”- and providing the trader picks the right side, money can always be made.

Two-Way Market

Currencies are traded in pairs–for example: Euro/Dollar (EUR/USD), Dollar/Yen (USD/JPY) or Dollar/Swiss Franc (USD/CHF). Every position involves the selling of one currency and the buying of another. If a trader believes the Swiss Franc will appreciate against the Dollar, the trader can sell Dollars and buy Francs. This position is called "selling short".

If one holds the opposite belief, that trader can buy Dollars and sell Swiss Francs–“buying long”. The potential for profit exists because there is always movement in the exchange rates (prices). Forex trading permits the opportunity to capture pips from both rising and falling currency values in relation to the Dollar. In every currency trading transaction,

one side of the pair is always gaining, and the other side is always losing.

Leverage

Trading on the Forex is done in currency “lots.” Each lot is approximately 100,000 U.S. dollars worth of a foreign currency. To trade on the Forex market, a Margin Account must be established with a currency broker. This is, in

effect, a bank account into which profits may be deposited and losses may be deducted. These deposits and deductions are made instantly upon exiting a position.

Brokers have differing Margin Account regulations, with many requiring a $1,000 deposit to “day-trade” a currency lot. Day-trading is entering and exiting positions during the same trading day. For longer-term positions, many require a $2,000 per lot deposit. In comparison to trading in stocks and other markets, which may require a 50% margin account, a Forex

speculators' excellent leverage of 1% to 2% of the

$100,000 lot value means the trader can control each lot for one to two cents on the dollar.

Execution Quality

Because the Forex is so liquid, most trades can be executed at the current market price. In all fast moving markets (stocks, commodities, etc.), slippage is inevitable in all trading, but can be avoided with some currency brokers' software that informs you of your exact entering price just prior to execution. You are given the option of avoiding or accepting the slippage. The Forex Market's huge liquidity offers the ability for high quality execution.

Confirmations of trades are immediate and the Internet trader has only to print a copy of their computer screen for a written record of all trading activities. Many individuals feel these features of Internet trading make it safer than using the telephone to trade. Respected firms such as Charles Schwab, Quick & Reilly and T.D.

Waterhouse offer Internet trading. These companies

would not risk their reputations by offering Internet service if it were not reliable and safe. In the event of a temporary technical computer problem with the broker’s ordering system,

the trader can telephone the broker 24 hours a day to immediately get in or out of a trade.

Internet brokers’ computer systems are protected by firewalls to keep account information from prying eyes. Account security is a broker’s highest concern. They take multiple steps to eliminate any risk associated with financial transactions on the Internet.

A Forex Internet trader does not have to speak with a broker by telephone. The elimination of the middleman (broker/salesman) lowers expenses, makes the process of entering an order faster, and decreases the possibility of miscommunication.

Execution Costs

Unlike other markets, the Forex generally does not charge commissions. The cost of a trade is represented in a Bid/Ask spread established by the broker. (Approximately 4 pips)

Trendiness

Over long and short historical periods, currencies have demonstrated substantial and identifiable trends. Each individual currency has its own “personality,” and offers a unique, historical pattern of trends that provide diversified trading opportunities within the spot Forex market.

Focus

Instead of attempting to choose a stock, bond, mutual fund, or commodity from the tens of thousands available in other markets, Forex traders generally focus on one to four currencies. The most common and most liquid are the US Dollar, Japanese Yen, British Pound, Swiss Franc, Euro and Canadian Dollar. Highly successful traders have always focused on a limited number of

investment options. Beginning Forex traders will usually focus on one currency and later incorporate one to three more into their trading activities.

It is the mission of the trader to become a long-term, financially successful trader. This can be achieved when the trader adopts and accepts The 10 Keys of Successful Trading. A trader must commit to live by three disciplines to become a successful trader.

Sir Richard Branson lost a friendly bet to AirAsia Group Chief Executive Officer Tony Fernandez after wagering on which of their Formula One racing teams would finish ahead of each other in their debut season of the 2010 Formula One Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi and that the loser would serve as a female flight attendant on board the winner's airline.

WeChat 2013 global phenomenon

WeChat is censoring words deemed taboo by the Chinese government—and not just in China, but for users everywhere. To say that this is a problem for Tencent, WeChat’s owner and China’s biggest internet company

was supposed to be the first Chinese internet service to become a global phenomenon—the Facebook of China, and just as internationally successful. But now it appears that

, would be an understatement. Tencent recently announced that WeChat had surpassed 300 million users, many of them outside of China. (Facebook passed the 1 billion mark in October.)

As well as Chinese, the service is available in English, Indonesian, Portuguese, Thai, Vietnamese and Russian. WeChat’s app runs on all the major smartphone operating systems, including Nokia’s Symbian, which is popular in emerging markets. Words censored globally for WeChat users include the Chinese name of a newspaper currently battling the Chinese government over censorship.

The paper’s English name, Southern Weekend, is not blocked on the app. Here’s where things get difficult for WeChat: Its international users cannot now escape the fact that, as a service with its headquarters and servers in China, it is subject to the censorious whims of the Chinese government. But not only that: Because WeChat reveals the location of messages sent via the service, dissidents in China are now afraid that China’s security services are using WeChat to locate them in real time.

In October, members of Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party greeted the launch of WeChat in Taiwan with accusations that the service is a national security risk, saying that “hackers” (among whom they evidently meant to include the Chinese government) could break into users’ communications, including those of members of the Taiwanese military.

The potential for states to spy on people through social media is obvious—wouldn’t the CIA like to have access to Facebook’s complete database, for example—but WeChat’s international self-censorship makes those fears seem all the more real. For now, users of WeChat inside and outside of China could get around censorship by referring to sensitive subjects in languages other than Chinese.

But how long will that last? Whatever happens next, Tencent now has a problem that makes Facebook’s occasional privacy snarl-ups look tepid by comparison. It remains to be seen whether this will affect the service’s growth outside of China, but clearly, it’s going to be a stumbling-block for all Chinese web companies with ambitions that go beyond the mainland.

Nick D'Aloisio Teenager sells iPhone app he designed in his bedroom for at least 20 million pound sterling

Teenager Nick D’Aloisio was up to £40million better off today - after selling a mobile app he designed in his bedroom to Yahoo.

Nick, 17, invented the Summly software which automatically reduces lengthy news stories and features to a user-friendly format on an iPhone.

Nick, who lives with his parents in Wimbledon, South West London, invented the app last January and it has already been downloaded almost a million times.

He said: “I honestly never expected any of this to happen. I started doing it as a hobby and I didn’t realise it was possible to make money out of it.

“I like shoes, I will probably buy a new pair of Nike trainers and I’ll probably get a new computer but at the moment I just want to save and bank it.

“I don’t have many living expenses.”

Nick is too young to be a company director but will work for Yahoo at their London offices while studying for three A-levels at Wimbledon’s King’s College school.

He first had the idea for Summly when he was studying for mock exams at home in 2011 and decided that it was “inefficient and time wasting” to click between various articles on Google.

Nick added: “I realised there was all this information on the web but it had not been ordered.

“That’s when I had the idea for an algorithm that would summarise the results of web searches automatically.”

The cost of the sale to Yahoo has not been disclosed but industry insiders said it would have been between £20million and £40million.

Because of his age, his fortune will have to be paid into a trust fund.

The first version of Summly was launched in July, 2011, and the surrounding publicity led to a flood of major international companies vying with each other to support the venture.

The big names included Chinese billionaire Li Ka-Shing, venture capital firm Horizon Ventures and individuals including Stephen Fry, Yoko Ono and US actor Ashton Kutcher.

In turn, Nick was then able to develop a much more sophisticated version of the app which has deals with 250 online publishers.

He said: “Hopefully, there will be a lot more entrepreneurs coming out of the UK who will start working with Silicon Valley.

“I launched five or six apps when there were only a few thousand and got got quite a lot of downloads.

"They were just simple, gimmicky apps but it was a learning experience.”

Nick has been off full-time school for six months and his business, based in Shoreditch, East London, now has 10 employees.

He said: “My friends at school have been extremely supportive. When I’m with them it’s just the normal banter. I don’t feel any different.”

Nick’s success echoes that of Adam Hildreth who was just 14 when he launched the Dubit Lit website, a social networking site for teenagers.

It made him £2million in five years and now Adam, of Leeds, is estimated to be worth £24million.

Cameron Johnson was just nine years old when he started his own business in Richmond, Virginia, selling invitation cards.

Cameron, now 28, used the profits to set up his own online company EZ Mail and he is worth an estimated £3.2million.

Brother and sister David and Catherine Cook were 17 and 15 respectively when they launched My Yearbook in 2005.

It survived the rival Facebook and the couple, from New Jersey, are together worth £6.5million.

Top ten hot trending gadgets of 2013 - and not an Apple in sight

Google Glass in top ten

Apple has been excluded from a list of the top 10 gadgets for 2013.

The Hot 100 list highlights gadgets rated the most wanted in the world by tech magazine T3,.

Apple - which has previously topped the list on three separate occasions – fails to make the top 10 for the first time since 2009. Its highest-ranking product is the iPad mini in 15th place.

3D printers top the list for their “life-changing potential” with food printing already taking place and clothes, drugs and even mobile phones expected to be printable in the next 10 years.

Samsung leads the way for smartphones, with the Samsung Galaxy S4 coming in at number two. T3 experts are predicting it to be the top selling Android device for 2013.

This year’s list also sees a number of projects from Kickstarter - the world’s largest funding platform for creative ideas - getting recognition. Most famously, the Pebble digital watch comes in at number eight.

2013 is shaping up to be a big year for gaming, with the Sony PlayStation 4 coming in at number three and a raft of gaming products featured in the Hot 100.

Luke Peters, editor of T3, said: “Rather than a list of what’s best, the Hot 100 is a countdown of kit that has the power to set the next big tech trends. 2013 is going to be an exciting year.”

Here are the top 10 gadgets of 2013, as chosen by T3.

10. Nvidia Project Shield

This portable gaming device claims to redefine gaming on the go. The Android gadget, with top-of-the-range audio and visual quality, lets you play high-quality games away from your home. You can also connect the device to your PC using wifi, so you can play your favourite games without having to get off the couch.

It's still in development, but should be shipping to the USA and Canada in the second half on 2013. Nvidia say they want to ship to other countries, including the UK, as soon as they can after launch.

9. Cambridge Audio Minx Air

This sound system can play your music from whatever device you want - smartphone, tablet or computer.

Using Cambridge Audio's expertise in hi-fi design and wireless streaming quality, you can listen to your favourite song in high quality while still being able to use your phone or tablet.

The device can also play the radio, and is compatible for both Apple and Android products.

Costing £330, you can buy one online or in store at Richer Sounds.

8. Pebble

Billed as "the first watch for the 21st century," the Pebble watch has different faces that you can download and customise.

Pebble connects to iPhone and Android smartphones using Bluetooth, alerting you with a silent vibration to incoming calls, emails and messages.

With apps you can turn the watch into a stopwatch, GPS, mp3 player and computer, to use while you're on the go.

Initially funded through Kickstarter, those who donated have already got their watches. You can pre-order one for $150 online for when more become available.

7. Fujifilm X100S

This retro-styled camera brings together the best of traditional photography and its digital counterpart.

With a 16.3MP X-Trans CMOS sensor and on-chip phase detection, the X100S now has a better autofocus speed than previous models. This is supported by a new processor, the 'EXR Processor II', which includes a new 'Lens Modulation Optimiser' function.

With an improved user interface and viewfinder, this is a serious camera for serious photographers. It can be bought online for £1,099.

6. PaperTab

Combining the flexibility of paper with the endurance of digital, PaperTab is set to change the way we work on documents.

PaperTab only allows the user to open one thing at a time, but have several papers. This means users can do things like share PDFs just by tapping two tablets together, fast-forward during a video by bending the display, and opening emails by touching two displays together.

Unfortunately, the device is still in construction and there has been no word on a release date - or a price.

5. Sony 4K OLED TV

This will be the world's first Ultra High Definition television that uses Organic LEDs, with a native 3,840 x 2,160 OLED panel.

The 56-inch set gives outstanding detail and high-quality image, and experts are saying it will change the way we watch television for good. Again, no release date or price has been mentioned - but technology fans are desperate to get their hands on the newest piece of TV tech.

4. Google Glass

This highly anticipated piece of technology will allow wearers to have a hands-free technological experience.

While you wear the lightweight glasses, you can use your voice to command them to take pictures, record video, send messages, find directions and translate your speech.

The glasses connect to the Internet and use Google's services to create a hands-free smartphone, right in front of your eyes.

Google are testing the product on a lucky few who applied to be "Glass Explorers", but they will be released to a wider audience soon.

3. Sony PlayStation 4

Sony have only given tantalising details of the PS4, but by all accounts it will provide a new boost for gaming.

The controller has replaced some buttons with touchscreen technology, and the console now has a share function which lets you record, edit and upload gaming footage and share it online with friends.

Industry analysts say that they don’t expect to see one until the E3 gaming expo this June, and will probably be released in December.

2. Samsung Galaxy S4

Samsung unveiled their new Android phone earlier this month in New York, and are expecting it to outsell Apple's products.

Among new feature is the Galaxy S4's remote technology which allows users to control functions without touching the screen.

"Smart pause" means people can pause a video by looking away from the screen, while "smart scroll" lets users scroll through emails without touching the screen, the S4 detecting the movements of the eyes and wrist.

Users can also change music tracks or accept a call with a simple wave of a hand.

The Galaxy S will be rolled out globally at the end of April, and will be available on several different contracts.

1. 3D printers

3D printing is already causing waves, with the technology being used in dozens of industries across the world including clothing, engineering and medicine.

Using technology which maps out an object, the printers then layer thin slices of plastic - or other materials - on top of each other to create a 3D object.

It is hoped that 3D printers can provide cheap and quick production, possibly providing solutions to problems such as forensic investigations.

Some companies, such as RepRap, are trying to produce 3D printers available for home use, as most are only used in industrial or commercial settings.

I am proud of you that you decided to read this article. These methods had helped me a lot, especially when I was in college. Many of you have written me and asked me how to make money and how to generate extra cash when you are broke. I used to save left over food from the cafeteria where I worked in college, so I could survive, because I didn’t any money to buy food that summer. I had to borrow money to buy my super expensive college text books. So I can understand what you’re going through right now.

Listen carefully to this; you can change your income significantly and your life by changing your daily habits. You must be willing to change! You must be willing work hard for to make the changes.

It doesn’t take a smart people to figure it out why we go broke. It means that our spending is more than what we earn. People go broke because their expenses are higher than their income!

The first thing you want to do when you find yourself broke is to start writing your expenses down on a piece of paper down to every penny of it. It is called, reviewing your net worth. You want to know how much money in your bank accounts and your wallet!

You must write down your expenses, income and this is a must! You can track down what you can not see. Please listen to this, start learning how to keep in track your expenses and income! Have a small book or PDA with you at all time to write down your expenses and income.

You must know how much money have and if you don’t have any right now, you must know how much money you want to have in the future. Make sure you write down a reasonable goal that you can achieve, like by Oct 30, I will have $300 in my savings account, and by Dec 30, I will have $600 in my savings, and so on. Believe me, when you know your goals and destination and you know where you are going, it will give you the motivation to go there!

Now get ready for the life changing methods that may help you get out of your challenges and trials. These are the methods that will help you to change your income level!

1. You must change your daily habit!

I love what the Bible says, “look and observe the ants.” Why would I want to look and observe ants? The reason why you want to be like ants is, ants are not lazy! They work day in and out, they are willing to save up some food for the winter time by working very hard in the summer. Believe it or not, Ants never eat more than they earn. They know how much food to give to their colony; they know how much food they need, so they can have enough food to eat for everybody in their ant colony. The will work hard to get the food their need for the winter time even when they have to sacrifice their life for the life of their colony. That’s why sometimes; ants will frustrate you, because they will keep coming to your house until they are sure that they have enough supply for every ant in their colony. They will stop coming to get your food when they know; they have plenty of food to survive during the winter.

Listen, your time is the most valuable thing that you and I have! We can trade our time for money by solving someone’s problem. Find what you’re good at and use your time, talents and gifts to start making money for you.

I was good in computers, so I charged students and school faculties if they want me to fix their computers.

Wake up early in the morning and use your day wisely to make money. Have you ever noticed that people who sleep too much and people who watch TV and movies too much don’t have much money? The reason why they don’t have much money, because they are not willing to trade their time for the money they need. They waste their time for something that won’t make them rich. Your time is like the energy in a battery, sooner or later, you will run out of it if you don’t know hot to use it wisely.

So get up! Stop being lazy! The rich and the poor both have 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, they rich don’t have more hours than the poor, but what makes a big difference is how they use up their time to generate wealth!

Go to work an hour early and go home an hour late. You must discipline yourself to work harder and smarter than everybody else! Most people love to come late and leave early, that’s why they are poor.

If you own your own business, make sure you give your customers your best for the bucks! It makes them want to do more business with you in the future. The next time you are tempted to waste your time, think twice!

Your daily habits will determine your future and what you do today will decide what’s coming to you in the future.

2. You must learn how to sell!

I used to buy a lot of cheap computer parts on UBID.com and EBAY.com and sold them to students who needed the computer parts. Before I bought them, I asked several students whether they will buy the computer parts from me when I got them. When I had buyers for the products, then I bought them cheap at the auction sites and sell them higher than cost of buying them.

You must be aware of the trend in your school! I remember the day when network T1 connection was popular at our school. I sold network cards like cakes, because back then not every computer had a network card. How about IPOD? Find out how many people own an IPOD and start selling the IPOD case, cover and accessories!

Keep your eyes open toward the latest trend and new things that are going on in your area!

You must learn how to sell. A lot of students got hungry at night, so I stocked up some food in my fridge and sold them to the people who didn’t have a car to go to the store!

Read books and listen to tapes that will teach you how to sell better. Use your mind to think of ways of making money.

Make a DVDs rental in your dorm room! You can buy 100 DVDs on Ebay for $100 and make your own rental place in your dorm room! Charge student $1 for a day to rent the DVD! Make sure they don’t steal your DVD! Keep record of who rents the DVD. 100 students rent your movie, that’s $100/day!

You can even start using the Internet to generate money by selling on Ebay! Ebay is a great money making tool that I am using to these days to generate additional income. Learn how you can make money on the Internet. Invest your time and money to learn more about ways of making money on the Internet.

I don’t care how good in computers, web design or giving make up, but if you can not sell your skills, you won’t be making money out of your skills. You must learn how to sell and market your skills and learn how to be good at selling.

You see, when you use your mind to think, a lot of ways to make money can come up in your mind and you will never be broke ever again in your life! A lot of people are broke because they never use their mind to think!

3. Invest 10% of Your Money In Skills that Can Help You Create More Money!

When I first came to college, I didn’t know how to do web design and how to develop a web site, but I used 10% of my income to buy books that would teach me how to be a web designer and developer! I took my time to develop my skills to become a web developer! Within a year of learning, I started to build web sites for other people on campus and made higher income than the rest of the students in college.

You must invest in other skills that will help you to make more money. If you like to give make up, well you may want to invest books on how to become make up artist! You can charge people to do their make up and hair for them when they want to go to a party and different special events. I know a guy in college who made his money by cutting hair. He charged $8 for a hair cut while Super Cut charged $15. So people came to him to get their hair cut.

I knew also some students who did house painting for other people in the community on the weekends.

There are thousand of ways of making money when you are broke, you just have to find the right kind of skills for you and the willingness to take action and do it.

4. Exercise, Eat Good Food and Keep Yourself Healthy.

Your mind is the most powerful asset that you will ever have in your life time. Your mind can help you create wealth! So listen to me, “STOP ABUSING YOUR MIND AND BODY!” Eat healthy, exercise, and get enough rest.

I learned that when I feel good, I can think well. I can think of ways of making money when I feel good about myself.

How can you think when you have heat pack on your head, thermometer on your mouth and blanket on your body? When you’re sick, you can’t use your mind to think! So make sure you keep yourself healthy and well!

I remember what one of my martial arts teachers told me about drinking alcohol. When you are drunk! You can even fight you defend yourself! So how can you think of ways to make yourself rich when you are drunk! The best way to be ready for a fight is to be sober. The best time for you to think is, when you are sober. If you like to drink a lot of alcohol, you may want to consider quiting your drinking habit.

Take care of yourself and be good to yourself and your body. Keep your body and mind healthy and well, so they can help you to think well.

5. You must believe that today’s circumstances are only temporary, they will change!

High achievers never look at their situation today; they always see themselves as how they can be in the future. Look, you may think that your situation today will never change. When you are going through a financial trials and challenges, you may feel like you are not making any progress in your life, but believe me, it is only temporary. Try to extract wisdom and understanding from the trials and challenges that you are facing right now. When hard times hit us, our mind will be forced to think.

I got my motivation to work hard when I didn’t have food to eat that summer in college, my stomach was hungry, and I had to eat left over food. I didn’t have a car for 6 years, believe me, it was tough when you had to ask your friends to drive you every where when you need to go somewhere.

I vowed to myself that I will work hard to achieve my goals and dreams. I realized that no body else would help me except myself. I was the one who was responsible for my destiny and life. I was the one who could change my life. I vowed to myself that I would work hard, to have the determination, patience and willingness to change my daily habits, so in the future; I don’t have to eat left over food anymore, I can drive any car I want, and have my own place to live.

If you believe in God, it is time for you to really kneel on your knees and spend time with Him. Pray about it, ask God to bring financial wisdom and prosperity into your life! Don’t be afraid to ask the Lord for a blessing! He is God who created you; He is the God who will give you strength, courage and wisdom to go on! Make a special time for you to talk to God and pray every day!

I believe in you’re my friend, I believe in you! As you sit there right now, I want to see yourself as a special person with a special gift and talent that can be used to get you out of trouble! The best days of your life are just ahead of you! You may not be able to see the days ahead of you! But have faith! Have faith! You can do great things in your life! You can make a difference in your life! You have the strength and power to make your life better! I believe in you’re my friend! I believe in you! Stand up, get up and stand tall! You are gifted with a great mind to think! Your mind can help you way different ways to set you free! Get up and stand up my friend!

Tell yourself right now out loud as you read this repeat this out loud after me “I am able to change my life! I can go through this trial that I am going through, I will stand tall, and I will not be defeated by these trials and challenges! I am special, I am unique, and I believe that the best days of me are just ahead of me! Everything will be just fine! I vow today that I will give my best to work hard for my future! I will not be lazy! I will form positive daily habits today! I will not lie again to myself, when I say I will do it, I will do it! Tomorrow will be a new day, and I will face with confidence, tomorrow will be a new day for me!”

Tip: How do you make $40/hour? When I was in college I lived in a dorm and I noticed some of the guys were lazy to wash their clothes. Listen to this story carefully. So I asked them whether I could do their laundry for them for $40/hour, believe me or not, some of them were willing to give me $40/hour to do their laundry. Some of you may say, "I don't want to do someone's else laundry." I know that, but while the rest of the campus made only $4.25/hour, while I was making $40/hour. It took nine and half hours for everybody else who was embarassed to wash other people's laundry to make $40. Can you imagine how much money you have if there are nine people who want you to wash their laundry! 9 people * $40/hour = $360/hour. The point that I am trying to make is, you don't really need a job to make money! If you only know how to observe other people's needs around you. You can serve those people's needs to make a lot of money.

This time, Orange has tapped into the energy festival-goers expend dancing and put it to work for powering up mobile phones. The Orange Dance Charge, developed with renewable energy firm Gotwind and currently just in prototype form, weighs just 180 grams and measures 4¼ x 2½ inches—about the same size as a pack of cards and the same weight as a mobile phone. The unit comes encased in a black elastic neoprene strap that gets attached over the wearer’s bicep with Velcro, much the way a runner’s arm-mounted MP3 player does. As users move their arms along with the music, a specially designed system of weights and magnets creates an electrical current that gets stored as charge in a reserve battery. That energy can then be used to recharge a mobile phone. Reportedly, Orange tested the Dance Charge out at Glasto by employing a "Dance Charging Man" at the festival who was on duty to dance (for free) with those in need of some recharging.
As we noted before, it's hard to beat green free love at a summer music festival—but throw in some fancy footwork and an official Dance Charging Man? It doesn't get better than that! ;-)

What's the simplest way to get from A to B with the aid of a machine? That's the question the New Zealand-based creators of recently launched YikeBike set out to tackle from scratch. The result is a super-lightweight folding electric bicycle, with eco-iconic looks. The YikeBike is the first production version of the Mini-Farthing design concept which has been five years under development. Departing entirely from the norm, YikeBike features a radically novel riding position, steering mechanism and wheel configuration. It's the evolutionary offspring of a Segway and a penny farthing.

So why the strange design? First, YikeBike does away with exposed mechanics (chain, gears, standard brake mechanisms etc.), replacing them all with a lightweight, 1.2 kW electric motor and "smart electronics". Allied with the carbon fibre frame, this helps keep the weight down to less than 10kg, reduces the need for maintenance and makes the YikeBike a breeze to carry in its case. The electrics also power safety features, such as anti-skid braking, brake lights and indicators. It's claimed that the design is the equal of its 120 year old predecessor in terms of stability, and even safer as the upright position increases visibility and allows the rider to jump off unimpeded in the event of a crash.

The YikeBike has max-speed of 20 km/h and a range of 9 km, so it should be up to the requirements of most commuters. Bikes are available for pre-order now, with expected pricing at a steep USD 3,500–3,900 (we're hoping that's an early-adopter price that will go down as production goes up). Seems like it could be just what the doctor ordered for the congested arteries of our over-populated cities. But there's just one thing a standard bicycle can do that YikeBike can't—keep people fit. The Mini-Farthing design is equally applicable to non-electic bicycles, though, and available for license—will you be the one to roll it out?

Infolinks - Infolinks is probably the highest paying option for your in-text advertising. On DLM, you will see underlined links scattered throughout articles. Those are a function of Infolinks and without disclosing too much, it's been a great source of income. Best is that they accept all sizes of websites and blogs. Just sign up and begin.

Build a Niche Store - This is a simple store development platform which enables you to create content based sites that generate income through the eBay affiliate programs. Pretty darn simple and increasingly popular.

Adbrite - Sell space on your site for text ads. This would work like the DLM Marketplace you see on the right of my pages although I chose to manage it myself.

Amazon Affiliate Program - Easily create a store or shopping section on your site instead of sending your visitors to Amazon. Amazon handles the shopping cart and fulfillment.

Amazon Seller - Sell your stuff on Amazon

Associated Content - If you write a story, how-to, rant, how-to cut grass, etc., you can submit it to them and they will pay you $3-$20 per article if they like it.

Yahoo! Merchant Solutions - This is a pretty simple and cheap way to create an online store.

Azoogleads - Another ad program. They do have some decent companies lined up as advertisers. You provide space, they'll provide an ad.

BidVertiser - PPC (pay per click) program with a low $10 payout amount.

Blog - Start a blog and consistently write excellent content. With good ad placement, you may make some money. I detail my process here: Simply Said, How to Blog.

Cafepress - You provide a design, they'll toss it on a T-Shirt, Hat, etc. No upfront costs. Get a free online shop and promote your products on your website.

Chitika - Their eMiniMalls service has shown great results for many Bloggers and site owners. You choose a keyword and they show relevant products on your site using a pretty unique interface.

Clickbank - Quickly becoming my favorite affiliate program. They have thousands of things for you to advertise on your site.

ClicknWork - Get paid $5-$150 per hour for basically doing freelance work on a per-assignment basis. You have to pass a pretty tough test to get in.

Clicksor - These are the guys that generate contextual ads on sites that show up when you hover over a double-underlined word.

Commission Junction - If you have a site, you can join Commission Junction. Once enrolled for free, you can choose companies whose ads are pertinent to your site. Companies have the ultimate say on working with you. There are easily over 1,000 companies to choose from here.

CreamAid - For blogs only, advertisers provide you with a topic and you write about it on your site. To do this, you have to install a flash widget into your blog post. The more people you bring into the conversation through the widget, the more you get paid. It's difficult to explain.

eefoof - Think of it as YouTube + Flickr + Music. You add original content and they pay you based on the visitors you attract.

Ether - If you are an expert on something, Ether provides a way for people to pay you to talk about it in a one-on-one setting. If you want to charge $250/hr, that's fine. You have to do all the advertising so you should have a blog or site already established.

eBay- Come on, you know what this is. Gather your junk and sell it!

eBay Stores - If you have a real store and want to sell your stuff online, this is a decent option to get you started.

ELance - Name gives it away. Programmers, Codes, Web Designers, Writers, Editors, can look for freelance opportunities.

Feedvertising - This is an arm of Text Link Ads and is currently only good for Wordpress 2.0 Users. This does me no good currently, but as you can guess, they place ads in your feed(s).

Feedburner / Google - Not only are they the best place to house your feeds, they will also add ads to your feed and website. You get paid per impression and if you implement Google Adsense to your feed, you are paid per click.

Google Adsense - Come on, you don't need an explanation; these ads are all over the place. Google displays relevant ads based on your site's content

Google Adwords - Create simple text ads and choose keywords that determine when they are displayed. This is where the Adsense Content comes from. You do not need a site for this.

H3.com - Get paid to fill jobs. Commissions range from $50-$5,000. It all depends on how tough the job is to fill and how desperate the hiring company is. This is another one that's tough to explain.

Indeed.com - Add their job board to your site. They then post jobs based on the geographic location of visitors and the position types you pre-select. I tried it and I they continually report that I sent 0 visitors and I know that's not right. Nevertheless, I may have an isolated problem so they make the list.

InnerSell - If you have a customer that wants to buy something you cannot sell, you can sell the lead here.

Jigsaw - It's a pretty flaky model but if you have a Rolodex full of good contacts, you can sell them here. I can't make sense of it but it looks like you get $0.10 per profile.

LinkShare.com - If you have a site, you can join Linkshare. Once enrolled for free, you can choose companies whose ads are pertinent to your site. Companies have the ultimate say on working with you. Like Commission Junction, there are a ton of companies waiting to evaluate your site.

Microsoft Adcenter - Bid on keywords and Microsoft places your created ads then they are searched for. This is similar to Google Adwords. You do not need a site for this.

Overstock.com - Sell your stuff on Overstock.com

Pay Per Post - I don't agree with this model entirely but they have advertisers that will pay you to write about their products on your blog.

Pheedo - If you have an RSS feed, run it through Pheedo. Like Feedburner, they can include ads into your feed and if you really become large, advertisers will pay a premium for you to show their ads.

Shareasale.com - I've never really worked with them but I do have an account. They are similar to Commission Junction and Linkshare however they seem to have lower tiered companies with advertising offers.

Shoemoney - This is a blog that can teach you a ton on making money online. I've spent hours reading his old stuff.

Software Judge - They will pay you up to $50 to review software.

Text Link Ads - I have never made a dime here but I know people that have. You can earn by sending advertisers to them or by selling spots on your site. You must have a real site or blog to do this - nothing on a shared domain (i.e. /blogspot).

Vibrant Media - Don't bother unless your site has 500,000 page views of text based content a month. If you have that readership, these are the guys that display bubble box ads to underlined words on your site.

West Work At Home Agent - Not entirely online but this is worth a mention because it's won awards and is very legitimate. If you are an at-home Mom or free-lancer without work, you should check this out.

TweetPhoto offers a lot of the advanced options you might enjoy for free: Stats, geo-tagging, favoriting/retweeting, etc.

Most people think that just by placing the AdSense code onto their website will start earning
them big checks! I am not ashamed to admit that even I thought the same when I was new. But I
soon realized that if I do not optimize my Ads, it is impossible to achieve a good income from
AdSense.
In order to earn big AdSense checks, you have to have a good CTR (Click Through Rate).
CTR is the number of clicks an ad receives divided by the number of times the Ads are shown.A
high CTR means more people are clicking on your Ads.
In this article I would like to share everything I have learned to boost my Google AdSense CTR –
much of which was taught by Matt Callen through his AdSense course. If you follow these tips,
you will see an instant jump in your CTR.
In order to achieve a very high CTR (20% +) it is important that the following points are taken
care of:
Google should serve Ads relevant to your niche.
You should have the right kinds of Ad formats place in the right places
Your Ads should be properly formatted
If you take care of all the three points above, you are guaranteed to have a CTR greater than 20%
We have to ensure that the ads that are being served by Google are closely related with your
content.This is very important because if your ads are not relevant your visitors will not click on

Mention your niche keyword in your Title Tag
One great way is to mention your main keyword in the Title tag of your page. This will tell
Google that your keyword must be in integral part of your content; otherwise you wouldn’t
have mentioned it in the title.
Mention your niche keyword several times in the body of your content
Mention your keywords a couple of times in the body of your content. This will tell Google
what your page is all about.
IMPORTANT: Do Not go overboard with this. If you put your keywords too many times, Google
will think you are trying to spam. Remember, Google is not stupid… so don’t treat them like
they are.

Make your keyword Bold
It also helps to bold your niche keyword, so that it stands out. You can also use H1 tag for
highlighting your keyword. Again, by doing this, Google will feel that the keyword is very
relevant to your site’s content. (don’t go overboard though)

Have descriptive names for your images
If you have images on your page, give relevant names to the image files. For example, if
your site is on bicycle, call your images bicycle1.jpg and bicycle2.jpg and not image1.jpg
and image2.jpg. Also – give a related alt text to the image.

Do not have too much content on your page
This is contrary to what some gurus feel. Having too much of content on the page has got
two disadvantages. Firstly, your keyword density for your main keyword decreases and
Google may not understand exactly what your page is all about.
Secondly, if you have too much of content on your page, your visitors will get everything
they are looking for, and will not be tempted to click on your ads. This will adversely affect
your CTR

Use a descriptive file name
This tip is often overlooked by webmasters. But it’s quite effective. If your page is on
bicycles, call your page www.yourdomain.com/bicycles.htm and not
www.yourdomain.com/bi.htm
Ad Formats and Their Placement
Google provides dozens of ad formats that you can use on your site. These ads are of different
sizes. Some of them are completely ineffective. But some are really powerful. Once you know
what kinds of ad formats to use, you should take care of placing them at the right places. If they
are not placed strategically, they will not be clicked on often enough.
Here are some tips to choose the best kinds of ad formats and optimum placements

Use Large Rectangle (336 x 280) as your primary Ad format
The Large Rectangle (336x280) works like a charm because it has proven itself to be the best
performing format. If you place it “above the fold”, its magic!

Use Wide Skyscraper (160 x 600) on the Left/Right border
The Wide Skyscraper 160 x 600 performs very well on the left or right side of your screen. I prefer
putting it on the left side because it gets seen more than the right side...

Do not neglect the Link Unit!
A Link Unit is one of the most under-utilized ad formats. But if used correctly, and in the right
position, it can be really profitable format if put in the right place. It is supposed to be placed
near your navigation menu. Most people will think it’s a part of your navigation menu and
automatically read it. And if the ads being served are very relevant to your niche, they will click on
it!
Try using a Link Unit format that has 4 keywords in them. This is because the size of the ad text
would be slightly bigger, and look more like a navigational menu. Also make sure to make the
border color blend with your website’s background

Hey, we also have Search Boxes!
Don’t forget that Google also provides us Search boxes that we can put on our site. Do not put
them above the fold. But those in a less prominent place further down the page. Bottom of the
page or somewhere on the left side below the fold is perfect.
Do not expect much money from Search boxes, but anything that comes in extra counts!

Have your Ads above the fold
This is one of the most important tips to increase your CTR. The term “above the fold”, comes from
newspapers. Any news above the fold on the front page of a newspaper will be read more than
any other part of the newspaper. The same rule applies to AdSense too.
Here, “above the fold” means the top position of your screen that is visible without the user
having to scroll down. So if you place your ads “above the fold”, it will be visible to everyone, and
they won’t have to scroll down. Your Ads are therefore more likely to get clicked. Also, the area
above the fold loads before the rest of the page. So this is by far the best location for AdSense Ad
placement.

Try not to have any other links “above the fold”
This may not always be possible. But if you can, remove all links that are “above the fold”. The only links displayed should be your AdSense Ads. By having any other link, you are giving your visitors
the option of clicking on them. This will decrease your CTR. If you do not have any other links,
your visitors will sub-consciously be forced to click on your AdSense Ads. This will shoot up your
CTR.

Do not neglect the bottom of your page!
If you have followed the above points, you will find that most people click on the ads above the
fold. But there will be some who will go down the page. And when they reach the end, they
normally think “what next?” To help them, we should have an AdSense Ad to bid them farewell!!
By placing an AdSense ad at the end of the page they will often click it!
Formatting Your Ads
We have all got something called “ad-blindness”. That means we have been sub-consciously
conditioned to ignore ads. Most of the time we completely ignore banners on web pages. We run
away from anything that remotely resembles an ad.
The same is with AdSense. If we want to make our ads noticed, we have to make sure that they
do not look like blatant Advertisements. We have to format our ads so that they seem to be a part
of our content. Once your ad blends with your page and your content, you will see amazing CTRs.
Here are some tips to properly format your ads so that they don’t look like blatant ads.

Make the background of your ad the same as the background of your
page
If the background of your web page is white, make sure the background of your ad is white too.
Our main aim is to make the ad not look like an ad. If they look like an ad, they will not be clicked
upon. No one wants to click on Advertisements, right? We want our ad to look as if it’s a part of
our content. So make sure the background of your ad is the same as that of your page. This will
do wonders for your CTR.

Remove the border of your ad
Again, this follows the same principle as above. If you put a border around your ad, they will look
like ads. They will scream aloud, “This is an ad!” And this will kill your CTR.
If you remove the border, they will blend with your content.
You might think this is something trivial but many people report a massive increase in their CTR,
just by removing their border. So let the border go by having a similar color as your background

Provide ample free space around your ads.
Do not make your ads look cluttered. Have enough free space around them to make them look
neat. And if you have blended it well, your CTR would see an instant jump.

Remove additional titles like “Sponsored Links” or “Advertisements”
Google allows you to mention titles like ‘Sponsored Links’ or ‘Advertisements’ above your
AdSense ads. I suggest you do not mention anything like this at all. Why would you want to tell
your visitor that they are Ads when Google already displays ‘Ads by Gooooogle’? So don’t add
any additional text around the ads that will show your visitor that they are advertisements…
Google already does this for you.

Change the Link color to Blue.
This has proven to have a positive impact on my CTR. This is because the color Blue symbolizes a
link. We have got used to seeing links in blue. So if your ads have a clickable blue link, they are
more likely to get clicked.

Make the color of your URL and the color of your ad’s text the same
This again, is often overlooked. If the color of your ad text is the same as the color of your ad URL,
it will make the URL blend, or melt, thereby making your blue link more visible.
All of these ideas will make your ads more clickable while still abiding by Google’s current TOS.

The Real Truth About High-Paying AdSense Keywords

Every single day I receive an email from someone or the other saying:
“Abhi, please send me a list of keywords that will pay me $20-$30 per click in AdSense”
You see, I do not blame them for asking that question. It’s not their fault.There is a lot of
misinformation floating around the Internet.And newbies get attracted to anything that
promises a lot of riches.
You will find many sites that will sell you lists of “High-paying AdSense Keywords” or list of
keywords that will “Sky-rocket your AdSense earnings overnight”.
They make you feel that if you purchase their list and design your sites based on these keywords,
your AdSense earnings would touch the sky.
According to them,Google pays you around 50% of the keyword cost. So if someone clicks on
the ad, for a keyword costing $50, you will earn around $25...Cool!
But not so cool! This isn’t how it works…
If it were that easy, you would find gazillions of AdSense success stories.Things are not so simple,
friend!
Currently I have more than 150,000 keywords that I use to drive traffic to my sites. So maybe, I
know a thing or two about AdSense and keywords.
Every day when I look at my stats I know what the real truth is. And the truth is not what you
think.
** The Truth **
Google never discloses what percentage it will pay to the AdSense Publisher.And there are too
many factors involved which determine how much Google will pay you.
As I mentioned above, if Google paid everyone 50% on a keyword costing $50, you would
become filthy rich in no time.Oh!Wish life were so easy!
For many so-called high-paying keywords, Big G sometimes pays me not even 10 cents.Can you
believe that?
Yes that’s true. Less than 10 cents for a HIGH paying keyword.

Agreed, there are times when I do receive $25 per click, but those are incredibly rare cases.And
those same keywords often give me 10 – 20 cents the next day.
So you can NEVER BE SURE how much a click would earn you.
How much Google will pay you depends on factors such as your landing page, your content,
Google’s smart pricing, the Advertiser’s cost of that keyword, and various other factors that are
beyond our control.
This is what you SHOULD do instead...
Build your sites according to high-paying **niches**.
If you get hold of any keyword lists from any site, you will notice that most of these keywords are
about finance, health, lawyers, business etc.
These niches are generally profitable because advertisers here have got money to spend on
Adwords.And hence they are generally profitable for the AdSense Publisher too.
So build your sites based the high-paying niches, and even more importantly, their sub-niches.
This doesn’t mean other niches are not profitable.Many are. But the high-paying niches are
where our focus should be.
With that being said, you should try to focus on the sub-niches of these high-paying main niches.
Why? Because the competition for those sub-niches is remarkably lower than it is for the main
niche.
So you want to know the secret of succeeding in AdSense?
1. Select several such profitable niches
2.Make websites for these niches
3.Drive traffic
4.And yes, don’t forget to regularly track your cost/earnings ratio
That’s exactly what I have done.And my AdSense business earns me $15,000+ per
month…month after month.

12Must-KnowTips To Avoid Getting Banned From Google AdSense

Although Google’s AdSense program is an excellent way to earn money,we need to understand
that Google is a company that cannot be messed with!
We should not abuse the system in order to make a quick buck.Many website owners, knowingly
or unknowingly, violate AdSense Terms and Conditions and subsequently get banned.
If you are really serious about earning from AdSense,make sure you do not do anything that can
get yourself banned. I have listed 12 things that you should NEVER even think of doing.
1.Never, I repeat, never click on your own Ads:
I think this is one of the biggest reasons why AdSense accounts get disabled.This seems obvious,
but it’s surprising how many people actually do that intentionally.
If you think by clicking on your own ads, you can fool Google, you are highly mistaken.Google
has got its own proprietary technology to find out if the publisher has clicked on his own ads.
And once they know that, your account is in jeopardy.
Google wants to protect the investment of its advertisers, and it will never tolerate any false
clicks. So make sure you do not make this foolish mistake.
2.Never, I repeat, never tell others to click on your own Ads
I often see click-swapping on AdSense forums. It’s kind of you-click-on-my-ad-and-I-will-click-onyours.
Never ever do this.
If you want a strong AdSense business, stay away from trouble.Don’t ask even your friends,
relatives or employees to click on your ads.Do not provide any kind of an incentive to anyone for
clicking on your ads.
I feel one good way to protect yourself is not to disclose your website’s domain to anyone. Keep it
to yourself and you are safe!
3.Never, I repeat, never modify Google’s AdSense code
This is against Google’s policy. Just use the code as-is.Don’t play around with it at all.
4.Never, I repeat, never put images next to your AdSense Ads.
This is a relatively new policy.When I started with AdSense, this rule did not exist.Moreover,what
Google actually wanted with this policy was never very clear.Nor did Google do a good job of
clearly defining what is allowed and what is not.

Even I had put some pretty images next to my Ads, and achieved excellent CTR. But here is a rule
of thumb. If you are in doubt, ALWAYS play safe.When this policy was enforced, I did not waste a
moment removing images that were next to my ads.After
all, I love my AdSense account, too!
My suggestion: If you have images next to your AdSense ads, remove them immediately
5.Never, I repeat, never title your ads the wrong way.
You are not allowed to label your Ads with messages like“Click Here”,“Related Links”or anything
else that misleads people into thinking that it is not an Advertisement.
You are however allowed to mention “Advertisements”or “Sponsored Links”, because your ads are
actually Advertisements.And Google is OK with that. If you want, you may prefer not to put any
label at all.
6.Never, I repeat, never put AdSense on pages that do not have enough content.
Yeah, this is something that web-masters may not be aware of. But Google allows AdSense only
on pages with good content.
Therefore it is not advisable to put ads on Thank You pages, subscription pages etc.Make doubly
sure that you have Ads only on pages with good content.
This also means that you should not put your ads on sites with junk content.Any site that doesn’t
really add value to the visitor is considered to be a junk site
7.Never, I repeat, never put AdSense on sites that have got prohibitive content.
Make sure you do not have Ads on sites that have got anything to do with drugs, pornography,
hatred, gambling etc.
Again, this is self explanatory, but some people simply don’t understand!
8.Never, I repeat, never create multiple Google AdSense Accounts.
Google allows you to have only 1 personal account and 1 business account.Google links these
two accounts.Never try to fool Google by creating different accounts under different names.
As long as you do not get caught, it’s fine. But if Google traces these accounts as being used by
the same person, all your accounts are in danger of being suspended.
9.Never, I repeat, never enlist your site in any kind of auto-surf or traffic exchange
programs.
Again, this is against Google’s TOS. So stay clear of it.
10.Never, I repeat, never exceed the amount of ads you can display on a page.
Currently Google only allows 3 Ad blocks, 3 Link units and 3 referral buttons to be put on one
page. I personally feel Google has allowed more than what is required. So, I don’t know why you
would ever want more than this.

11.Never, I repeat, never reveal your AdSense Data
Google doesn’t allow public display of your CTR, Impressions,eCPM etc on forums, eBooks,
websites or any other publicly viewable media.
But Google doesn’t have any objection if you mention how much you earn from AdSense… just
don’t go into the details of your clicks, impressions, CTR, or eCPM.
12.Never, I repeat, never stay outdated!
Google’s policies are constantly changing. It will help if you know what changes are taking place
in the world of AdSense so that you can update your sites if required.
If you get banned by AdSense for whatever reason you cannot give the excuse that you were
“not aware” of the policy.This will not be of much help. So know the waters that you tread on!
This article, by no means, is a comprehensive list of AdSense Policies. I highly recommend you go
through all the policies in details.And never even try to cheat the system.

Before proceeding further, I would like to mention that whatever you are about to read might
not appeal to some people. But you have to ask yourself “Do I really want to earn from AdSense
or do I want to be one of the countless many who are laying in the AdSense grave?”
If you decide that you want to be an AdSense winner, then welcome to the club! I can tell you
that what you will read will help you make earn a hefty income with AdSense if you actually do
what you learn.
When I started my AdSense business, I had only 1 site - and that site paid me just a few cents
every day. I cried,wailed, but Google didn’t even notice me. I cried again the next week, and the
week after that, but there was no change in my AdSense earning! Looking at my income, I felt no
better than a beggar on the street, with just a few spare changes in my bowl.
Thankfully, I soon realized that it was foolish to depend on just 1 niche. I understood that I did not
have the power to convert a low-paying niche into a high-paying one. But I DID have the power
to choose my niches.No one could stop me from that.
Most people complain that they are not making any money with AdSense.When I ask them how
many niches they’re in or how many sites they have, the answer is usually 3-4.
You see, it is almost impossible to earn from AdSense with just 1 site unless you get thousands of
visitors every day. But I assume you do not have that kind of traffic, right?

Otherwise you probably wouldn’t be reading this!
If you have just 1-2 niches, I can promise you with almost 100% confidence - you will not be
happy looking at your AdSense earnings! If you want to be a big player, you WILL have to
diversify into many niches.Yes, there is a bit of work involved. But you have to consider this as a
business. If you treat it like a business, it will pay you like a business.
If you decide to do this work yourself, it might take you 1-2 months or maybe 3 months. But it’s all
worth it.Another option is to outsource this work and have other people do it for you. But before
you can outsource something, you must first know how to do it on your own. If not, you won’t be
able to show someone else how to do it.
We have to focus on quantity and volume.We want to play in big numbers. When I say we need
to focus on“quantity and volume”, I don’t mean that we need to forget about the quality of the
sites. The sites still MUST have quality content, and essentially “add something to the internet
world.”
You know, there is something really funny about niches.The way some niches work often defies
logic. Niches that you think would be high paying may prove to be total disasters.
And niches that seem to be hopeless might turn out to be real winners. It really has nothing to
do with competition. I always say that you can never be 100% sure about which niches would be
profitable and which won’t.
I have learned that if I go into 10 markets, there will be around 6 that will be winners. So if I want
300 profitable sites, I need to make around 500 sites.
If you ask me, I feel this is much easier than searching for “the best niches” that are out there. It is
just like throwing enough stuff onto the wall and see what sticks.
Once I understood this basic truth, I spent the next few months,making hundreds of mini sites. In
fact I created well over 500 sites. In order to keep Google and my visitors happy, I made sure to
add some good content on each of my sites.
I drove traffic through my sites using PPC, as that was the most convenient way of giving me
instant results.
After regular testing and monitoring, I found that many of those sites were not paying me. I
scrapped them, and concentrated on those that were good.And my AdSense income has never
been the same again.
I am also about to tell you something that might make some of you feel uneasy.
You must have heard that you should have lots of content on your site.“Content is King”, right?

But my views are a bit different here. If you want to build an AdSense business, I think Content is
NOT always the King.
Yes, you should have good content on your site, and you should also comply with Google’s
policies. But do not get overly obsessed with putting TOO MUCH content on your AdSense sites.
Here’s why.We should not forget that our main aim is to make money with AdSense. How do we
do that? Our visitors click on our AdSense ads. Our aim is NOT to provide our visitors everything
that they are looking for. If we give them enough content, they’ll be getting everything they
want, therefore, they won’t click on our AdSense Ads.
Just rinse-and-repeat the process and get into as many niches as possible.Work smarter by
outsourcing smaller tasks as much as possible.
The AdSense business has got nothing to do with luck. It has got everything to do with volume
and hard-work.
As I said, this involves some work. But the effort you put in will give you equal results.Armed with
this knowledge you can almost dictate your AdSense earnings.

Think of your bookkeeping system as the body of a car. A car body can be engineered, painted and finished to look sleek and powerful. However, the car body won't get anywhere without an engine. Your financial management system is the engine that will make your car achieve peak performance.

You may be wondering what exactly is meant by the term "financial management." It is the process you use to put your numbers to work to make your business more successful. With a good financial management system, you will know not only how your business is doing financially, but why. And you will be able to use it to make decisions to improve the operation of your business.

Why is financial management important? Because a good financial management system enables you to accomplish important big picture and daily financial objectives. A good financial management system helps you become a better macromanager by enabling you to:

1. Manage proactively rather than reactively.
2. Borrow money more easily; not only can you plan ahead for financing needs, but sharing your budget with your banker will help in the loan approval process.
3. Provide financial planning information for investors.
4. Make your operation more profitable and efficient.
5. Access a great decision-making tool for key financial considerations.

Financial planning and control help you become a better micromanager by enabling you to:

1. Avoid investing too much money in fixed assets.
2. Maintain short-term working capital needs to support accounts receivable and inventory more efficiently.
3. Set sales goals; you need to be growth-oriented, not just an "order taker."
4. Improve gross profit margin by pricing your services more effectively or by reducing supplier prices, direct labor, etc., that affect cost of goods sold.
5. Operate your business more efficiently by keeping selling and general and administrative expenses down more effectively.

The first step in developing a financial management system is the creation of financial statements. To manage proactively, you should plan to generate financial statements on a monthly basis. Your financial statements should include an income statement, a balance sheet and a cash flow statement.

A good automated accounting software package will create the monthly financial statements for you. If your bookkeeping system is manual, you still can use an internal or external bookkeeper to provide you with monthly financial statements.
